Also, in one of my first days playing I created a guild. i didnt know what I was doing, and theres no one in it anyways. Should this interfere with me joining another?
This isn’t a problem. GW2 allows you to be in up to five guilds. When you want to join a new guild, go into the guild interface and click on the guild you want to join then click the “represent” button. That puts you into the guild where you can read/type in guild chat and any influence you earn will be for that guild.
You can hang on to the guild you made and use it for extra bank space or a hiding spot; whatever really.
On to the recruiting… I was wondering what time zone you play in?

I’m not sure if a server transfer is an option for you but if it is, Hedonism on Ferguson’s Crossing might be just exactly what you are looking for.
We are on a NA server but, we have a healthy number of people on during your hours (our roster includes people from England, Russia, Italy and Denmark & several NA early birds), so enough to do things with but not feel like you are a number.
We have a nice casual, mature atmosphere where people are more cooperative than competitive. Another thing that I think would make us a fit is that we have a cap on membership. We have around 90 members right now, but they are spread out around the clock so that we can maintain a small guild feel no matter when you happen to log on.

We are a casual, PvE (dungeons, mapping, achievements, etc) and WvW focused guild. with a friendly, mature atmosphere. We have lots of events and groups going on that are both scheduled and happen spontaneously but nothing is ever mandatory. And, when things get a little busier after Summer, you won’t have any minimum hour/day requirements to worry about to keep your membership.

Hedonism on Ferguson’s Crossing might be worth looking into. We are more of an all around PvE guild but dungeons aren’t hard to come by, there are usually multiple groups doing a variety of things and the occasional raid on Orr or in WvW, and Guild Missions of course. Nothing requires mandatory attendance so you can do whatever you want when you log in.

Are we actually a Casual guild? In a word, Yes. We know people have real lives that come with responsibilities. We respect your choice to have a family, a job, go to school, and to see sunlight every now and then. Log on when you can, we’ll be here when you do.
Am I Required Participate in Events No. We mean it when we say “casual”. We love when you can join us because that’s part of what makes gaming fun but, no one will make you participate if you aren’t into what is going on at the time.
What sort of Groups and Events Do You Have? We schedule all types of things:
Dungeons, Story Help, Mapping Parties, Orr Invasions, WvW, Lowbie Help, Jumping Puzzles and so on; though most groups happen spontaneously via guild chat. We also run Guild Only events where we give away gold and prizes. A few recent examples are a Scavenger Hunt, Darts, Screenshot Contest and so on.
Guild Tax People really do that?! NO guild tax, we appreciate whatever help you can give because we run contests and games with cash and item prizes, help each other out with gear donations and run the occasional fundraiser, but you don’t need to pay to be a member.
I’m sure I’ll think of more so I’ll add things as they come to me. Also, feel free to ask here or in game if you have any questions about the guild that aren’t addressed here.

Most of our members are like you, they have real life commitments; school, families and jobs that require their attention. That’s why we are a casual guild. We understand that people have lives that come first and no one expects you to play every day (or every week for that matter) just to keep your membership.
People are always willing to lend a hand when you need it and we have groups that are both scheduled and form spontaneously for everything from Guild Missions to Dungeons to mapping or daily completion groups. Or you can play alone, no one will require you to do any event or group.

Detailed Info for EU and Oceanic hours
EU and Oceanic hours are still open. NA is open once more so all time zones are currently open.
EU membership could stand a boost. There is a lull between 14:00 and 17:00 GMT Monday-Friday (2pm to 5pm GMT or 7am- to 10am PST- things start picking up from there) so we’d like to top off our roster for that time period.
Oceanic, Asian, etc hours are getting filled out but we need several more to have the numbers where I’d like them to be. One night there might be five people on, the next there are 9 on (though I’ve seen as many as 12 on from 12 am to 4am PST-this would be 4pm to 8pm in Seoul, So. Korea for example).
I am eager to build up these hours and would love to invite members who are interested in helping us grow this time zone. Think of it as joining a new, growing guild but with a built in infrastructure and lots of unlocks already in place.
My goal as a recruiter/leader is to have about 12 to 20 (max) members on at any given time so I am dedicated to making this happen for all of our members, no one is going to be left behind.
If you would like to help us fill out these hours, we have room for you and your friends. Yes, it may take some time to build up those hours, but the more regular players we have, the easier and faster we can build the time slot. For that reason, if you feel like our mission statement as a guild fits what you are looking for, then give us a chance and together we can build a great home.

You might like to check out Hedonism on Ferguson’s Crossing; we’ve become an international guild with several EU members and NA early birds who play during your times. And our numbers are healthy for your play times, I usually see 6 to10 people on when I log in at 10 am PST.
We are PvE (dungeons, mapping, achievements, etc) and WvW focused, and we have a really friendly, mature atmosphere. The only drawback I can see is that because we are on a different server, you wouldn’t be able to WvW with us (Anet’s restriction, not ours), everything else though would be no problem since guesting is really simple to do.

I’ve felt like I’ve been going crazy. This is bad enough being a player and not being able to see people in your dungeon, but try being a guild leader and not knowing who is on, not being able to group up or how maddening it is to even help people with the most basic things because you can’t stay partied or, Bounty Missions where you can’t find other people because you can’t see their dots on the map so you don’t know where other people are looking.
How does it get so broken in the first place and then continue for weeks?
Some things offered by the guild but not listed in the original post:
*Our own Commander
*Guild Missions
*Casual means casual; if you need a break for real life, medical issues, Military service, etc; no one will make you feel bad about it.
EU and Oceanic applications are still open.
If your hours of play begin around GMT/UTC 6:00 and go to around 15:00, we are open to applications, no matter where you are located in the world.
We are still accepting applications for all time zones but, there is a waiting period for NA evenings (5pm to 10pm in zones GMT/UTC -3 to -7) to give us a chance to know each other after a recent surge of new members.
This does not apply to Alaska or Hawaii.
This does not apply to people who are family and friends of current members.
If you feel like Hedonism is the guild for you, there is still time to join us.

I do think there needs to be some sort of structure, a head to the guild that can make a final decision when others are split, someone who can be in charge of delegating responsibilities so things can get done and so on. However I think there needs to be an opportunity for variations of group, officer and leader decisions depending on the importance of the decision. I feel that even though there is a figurehead, people should feel involved in the direction of their guild.
Something that also helps is making sure people know what direction you are taking the guild. I try to let people know where their influence is going and why we want to do some of the things we do. This gives everyone the chance to voice their dissenting opinion, if there is one, and gives them something to look forward to when we all agree.
Where I feel the design of the guild interface fails is the lack of tools we need to run our guilds as well as we could. There are several instances where I wish I had the ability to use a little more finesse when making decisions for the guild, communicating with my officers or even just sharing things from the guild bank.
Even something as simple as allowing members to withdraw items from the guild bank without access to guild funds is a small distinction that can have huge consequences for a guild; and it makes me feel like I am treating my people with a closed hand because I can’t leave the bank open to everyone.
Giving us more options only helps guilds large and small who prefer more structure, and doesn’t hurt those who want to be more open.
Guild Training Mission successfully done and research for Guild Bounty Missions is in Queue.
We’ve grown to 71 members and have members on around the clock who are from all around the world. Business professionals, senior citizens, college students, artists and computer geeks all make up our eclectic, warm, happy family.

Hedonism might be what you are looking for. Everything you mentioned is spot on with our atmosphere and philosophy, I say “might” because PvP is not a main focus for our guild, we are primarily PvE (dungeons, mapping, achievements, etc) and WvW. A few members are interested in PvP but there are no official teams going ATM.
One thing we do offer that a lot of guilds don’t is a truly casual atmosphere. We all have real lives and responsibilities and we don’t punish you for wanting to put those ahead of a game. No attitudes and no getting kicked if you need to be away for a while.

I’d like to recommend Hedonism on Ferguson’s Crossing. We are a smaller, casual guild with a mature, friendly, cooperative atmosphere. Our main focus is PvE and WvW and unlike a lot of so-called “casual” guilds we actually mean it when we say we are casual. There are no minimum number of hours or days played required from us. We won’t boot you or make you feel bad when real life comes first.

Doing dailies as a group, helping people with their personal stories, various discussions about the game, everything from ascended items to dyes and mapping in WvW (Number one again this week!). We have a lively group of players and we are always willing to add more who want to take part in a guild they can be proud of.
Welcomed a lovely new couple today, handed out prizes for our screen shot contest, kicked some butt in WvWvW. All told, another great day.
