I have been confused ever since I found these two.
Huh, I only knew about the 56 copper golems. You can also buy rocks, planks, and gunk in Brisban for 56 copper each. Rocks are spammable 900 range 1 sec knockdown, planks are melee range launch with 4 sec cd, and gunk is an ethereal combo field that pulses random conditions. If you really wanted to put the money into it, I guess you could grief-kill someone with rocks and planks.
I’ve only seen the Golems used before, though. None of these things should be usable in WvW, that’s fer shure.
I was working another boring shift of guard duty at the tower of Durios. Suddenly, you appeared below me at the foot of the wall, as if out of thin air. As soon as I looked down at you, all prior thoughts were lost as my mind boggled at your beauty. I could hardly even remember my name.
Your gaze turned and met mine. In that moment, my vision became rose-tinted out of my intense love for you….well, it was either that, or the pink and purple field you cast at my feet. I must apologize for plummeting from the wall to land face-first in front of you. I did not mean to startle you by it, but I also can’t remember why or how I did it. It was as if an unearthly force propelled me toward you.
Nevertheless, I stood up and regained my composure, determined to make this work. But when I finished dusting myself off and lifted my gaze to meet you, my jaw dropped once more. I would never in my wildest dreams have expected to encounter not only one impossibly beautiful maiden, but her three identical sisters along with her as well! I’m afraid my behavior became somewhat rash and impolite as I ran to each one of you, inquiring as to your names and where you would all like to go on our group date.
I know my behavior was not ideal. To be fair, though, you should also tell your sisters that exploding in a cloud of butterflies is a social misstep, as some people might find it highly offensive. Not I, however. Nothing any of you did could upset me, my sweets, or deter me from my goal. Unfortunately, I soon lost track of you, as I couldn’t move very well – every exertion on my part seemed to hurt me immensely. After that I fell to the ground in anguish at the prospect of losing you, and also because I was bleeding out and on fire at the same time.
I understand why you stuck that stake in my heart – I really should have been more polite, and I cannot apologize enough for the rock I threw at you in frustration, even though you suffered no damage, as you seemed to be impervious at the time. It was still a very rude behavior on my part. Please, allow me another chance. I still work at Durios part-time on weeknights. Bring your sisters, who are every bit as lovely as you, and perhaps we can all give this another shot?
They were already being hounded by people who wanted to know when paid transfers were happening. Everyone already knew they intended to have paid transfers from day 1, but because guesting wasn’t ready, they opened up free transfers so that people could find their friends. Of course this would be abused in WvW. Now, what good would it do, when everyone already knows paid transfers are coming, to hide the exact date and sneak it into an update? What would be the point of that?
Yah it’s frustrating for WvWers, but that’s no reason to go suggesting useless alternatives that wouldn’t really change anything. The rankings have literally always been broken, with servers jumping all over the board. Only the top tiers have remained relatively stable, because those are the full servers that are difficult to transfer to. Hiding a date would not have changed this in any meaningful way. It probably would have caused an uproar, actually.
nobody is going to make it past 1 and 2. they will be on the floor, dying.
it’s going to take some additional time after paid servers are implemented for all the servers to “settle” into their true ranks. you need to consider all the mass transferring going on this week since it’s the last free one. like people have been saying, the announcement of a transition from free to paid transfers is naturally going to cause some chaos. there are a lot of players who have been abusing free transfers to hop worlds every week. the ranking system isn’t equipped to deal with this chaos; it needs the server populations to be relatively stable from week to week in order to work. paid transfers will be that stabilizer, so they are a very, very good thing!
god. i guess i was just underinformed, cause i honestly thought this week was gonna be a more even matchup. i’ve been wvwing so much less ever since we became the zerg. here all my hopes were up, but now it looks like another week of popping in for 5 minutes to farm jp ori. -_- really cannot wait for these transfer shenanigans to settle down.
Three Krytan seraph are manning an outpost in Queensdale….
If he keeps the VIP badge in his breast pocket, then it might deflect an arrow from his heart.
:D
I like the Dredge ever since the time I found a lone Excavator singing to himself about mining….while mining.
They really should add the feature of when you aren’t repping a guild you can’t be seen online on it’s roster. As it is now if you are repping another guild they know you are repping another. When you go invis you can’t see guild chat so that doesn’t help.
And tools that let a guild see the last date and time people were repping their guild.
So you wanna guild around, but you don’t want your guild leader checking your phone? Are you doing something you shouldn’t?
uh, doesn’t that just strengthen their point?
Guys, I think I found out what happened to the horses…
oh my god, how do i look at my christmas minis the same way anymore.
nononono. kaineng is chasing after devona like a jilted lover who can’t let go.

even our graphs when viewed together are totally seductive. look at us all intertwined at the start. then running parallel during our rough patch when we weren’t speaking to each other. then you coldly push us away, and like the silly tarts we are, it just makes us want you more. when we saw you gallivanting around with our old rival borlis, oh how the jealousy burned within our hearts.
actually wait. devona server is named after a woman. kaineng sounds kind of masculine….so wait, we aren’t the jezebel here. we’re more like the clingy boyfriend who can’t believe he was dumped. this changes absolutely everything.
unless kaineng is in fact feminine, in which case it’s a great big lesbian love story.
so much to consider, going into this next week’s matchups….so very, very much….
wow, tier 7 looks like a lot of fun right now. i envy you guys! good luck to all.
i have 1 of every class, 4 of them are 80 (mesmer, necro, thief, ranger) but the rest are extremely low level and i haven’t played them much. my next 80 will be an ele, but it’s 10 right now.
i sense a noticeable difference in playstyles across my toons. mesmer and thief are slightly similar, but the main difference is that on my mesmer in WvW i sometimes remove all stealth from my skill bar just to make it more challenging. whereas i could never, ever do that with thief. my ranger is just a farming toon, i never purposefully pvp with it. necro is the class that has caused me to think the most about my pvp and plan more carefully. necro and mesmer are definitely my favorites, but i don’t know if i could pick one over the other, i like them both so much. i actually have a fair amount of experience with engineers too – mine is only 15 but when i started the game i used engi in sPvP for a while – but i have no plans to level him anytime soon. they were just ok. we all know they need work. moving on….
so naturally, i think ele will be a good fit for me. i have no idea why i like the mages so much – i usually go for the assassin characters, but i’ve basically abandoned my thief out of a lack of interest. it’s the only 80 that i really never use anymore, except to gather mats and craft gear for other toons. other than that, i still actively rotate between necro, mesmer and ranger, and i will soon be adding ele to the mix!
owch, too broken. 70 points already allows you to take just under 50% of your available traits. i could see 75 trait points happening, but i would never want it to go over that.
the sad thing is that there are probably some classes where having 3 grandmaster majors would be a much-needed improvement, and other classes where having 3 grandmaster majors would be like the apocalypse. kind of like in beta before the traits were even tiered.

yesterday in EB i killed the same backstab thief twice with my farming alt – a ranger in full MF gear. MF ranger is so OP.
So your guildy intentionally teased/insulted another player and was not capable of completing the required mechanics for the fight.
No, read the post again. I don’t know where you got the idea that the guildie was failing the fight. The guildie was doing just fine in the fight, and the other guy was trying to micromanage him for no reason. The backseat driver says “dodge roll” so he uses mist form instead. It has the same basic result of avoiding maw’s attack. It’s a cheeky way to deal with a bossy person, but it doesn’t actually hurt the group at all, nor does it constitute a direct insult to the player. The bossy guy overreacts and kicks him, which is actually hurtful to the group. Bossy guy deserved to be kicked in turn. Unless there was some verbal abuse or trash talk the OP isn’t telling us about, then his guildie is blameless here.
Basically, if someone is playing in a way that you yourself wouldn’t play, but they are still getting the job done – then there is no need to try to tell them how to do it or what you would do instead. That’s backseat driving and it’s useless.
I heard the game devs originally planned for a human elite skill called Avatar of Logan Thackeray, but they decided not to release it. When activated, it would inflict Fear on yourself for 30 seconds and then automatically teleport you to Divinity’s Reach.
Weapon – Focus
Weapon Names – Gaze, Adam
Character race – Asura
Character sex & profession irrelevant to this issue
Gaze & Adam are two Focus weapons with identical skins. They resemble human skulls. The problem is that when an asura equips one, weapon size scaling makes the skull tiny. It’s anatomically inaccurate, and it ruins the look of the thing. Can you change the skulls to an anatomically correct size?
In the attachments, I’m using the focus Adam. I haven’t previewed Gaze, but I assume it has the same issue.
In order of appearance, the characters are asura, human, charr, and sylvari. The variety of races is there for your comparison. I think it gives a good idea of how the “look” of the focus is ruined.
I decided to soulbind it to make sure that the problem is not with the preview itself. You can see in the last pic that Adam is still tiny while equipped.
I really hope you guys decide to change this, because I had my heart set on it for my asura necro. I also threw 3.5 gold into it! Otherwise, I don’t really want to use this weapon if it looks like a baby’s skull. I’m trying to scare my enemies, not depress them.

Another idea is to have people push/pull the ranged ones out of the circle, if you can.
murry christmus.
lol my dungeon pug was like “oh ok lets just relog before we start”
i will never see them again.
I play mostly WvW, and I use Scepter/Focus for chasing. Focus 4 is unspeakably good for chasing, and Scepter 3, as a condition build, can cause a low health runner to down themselves if they try to use mobility/escape skills. It is mostly just a backup set to my Staff conditions. Sometimes I use the 3 skill as a feint to make them burn their dodges, making it easy to follow-up with a traited CoF for 8 stacks confuse.
I love asuran dialogue. If you want to hear a bunch of asuras talking trash to each other about their research, look for the tiny messenger golem running around Metrica Province and follow it for a while. It’s hilarious.
i wish they would throw reanimator in the garbage where it belongs and make an entirely new minor trait in its place. -_- ain’t nobody need jagged horrors for anything. i detest having to take reanimator to access 2 of the best staff traits.
Take the Chef discipline and feed your Asura lots of cakes and pies.
this thread reminds me how much fun i had leveling an epidemic necro to 44 in WvW. i felt really useful even at low levels. in sPvP i experimented with the minion tank build, and i turned into one of those bunkers who can neither kill nor be killed, which i found hilarious. i discovered the beauty of wells, but the one thing i never tried was a power build, and i regret under-utilizing the axe. i’m really tempted to ditch my mesmer now….
I don’t see why they couldn’t release a name change since we have these umbrella IDs that all our characters connect to. I hope they do put out some kind of name change, because I’ve gotten sick of my main’s long name and I feel bad when people struggle with how to type it. It’s so long and complicated that people call me like 5 different nicknames based on how they shorten it. I have no idea why I chose it, lol.
I also love the deep water in Frostgorge, or any place where you can dive down deep. I like to swing the camera up to see how far from the surface I am.
Other than that, I really love the classic provincial look of Kessex Hills. There’s some good water/lake scenery there too. Metrica Province has a cute style that reminds me of the newer Ratchet and Clank games.
Oh, I almost forgot The Grove. Specifically, those clouds of floaty glowy light balls. First time I saw those, I stood for like 5 minutes just panning the camera, getting an eyeful of the shinies. My mind went full skritt.
Dear Toymaker Tixx,
I promise I was really good this year. No, don’t bother to check your records or ask around, just take my word for it, that’s how good I am, see? Anyways, I was wondering if you could bring back Lunatic Inquisition with some kind of superficial Wintersday theme/rename slapped on top of it. I miss that game too much.
Hold it. This area isn’t- Hold it. This area isn’t safe. Unless you want your guts to- Hold it. This – Hold it. This area isn’t safe. Unless you want your guts torn open, stay ba- Hold it. This area isn’t safe. Unless you- Hold it. This area isn’t safe. Unle- Hold it.
i’m sitting in CM right now and the boss won’t count towards our kill count, so we can’t finish. we sat there until all 3 of them respawned, which we didn’t know would happen, and then we killed them all again. still, the boss doesn’t add to the kill count.
The name itself could easily be interpreted as racially-charged humor, like a “token black guy” joke, or a black stereotype. Whatever you intended it to mean at character creation is irrelevant, because nobody can read your mind. If you really didn’t know it could be offensive, I would just tell you that they aren’t punishing you for not knowing, they’re punishing you for breaking the rules, whether or not you knew you were. But it is nothing against you or your favorite hairstyle, it is just ANet sticking to their own rules, and they made an accurate call here.

I love the areas in some snowy maps where the sky turns purple, the snowfall gets thicker, and lightning starts flashing all around. The place that comes to mind is around the outside of a cave in Dredgehaunt, somewhere near Heimdahl’s Last Stand, I think?
6 feet tall is the funniest line in the game. this is fact.
:>
the great thing about being on the smallest server is that Kaineng just can’t afford to have drama. the few times i’ve seen someone in WvW try to talk trash against a player or a guild, the response has always been like, “are you kidding? why bother?” it is so refreshing. we’re nonjudgmental of the new, since we need them, and if a random speaks up in WvW with a good idea, people will listen. it’s pretty chill.
Eh. Just cause it’s not taking itself dead seriously doesn’t mean it’s childish or naive. One of my issues with contemporary media is the whole “darker, bloodier and grittier = mature” trend. I mean, one of the biggest themes in GW2 is bigotry, a pretty heavy issue right there.
(If you do get around to reading Dostoevsky, I strongly recommend The Brothers Karamazov.)
