there were a handful of mesmers chillin’ in your hills after you closed the wall in.

i literally stood up on the wall for 2 minutes straight, waiting for a search party to run from. eventually a thief chased me for about 10 seconds and then i’m not sure, i think he got bored, or maybe he had a pressing phone call to make. once i was sure the team was being ported in elsewhere i went looking for ET to troll and pull you away from where they were.

i really enjoyed watching a handful of yas stand around the south gate and not even bother looking for us.

i was drinking beer, eating popcorn, and running and stealthing away from a bunch of people that i had to go find myself because no one came looking for us, but instead stood up on the wall and looked at the snow.

i’m sorry, but that … is really bad … and whoever was in that keep should feel really bad (especially you guys standing at the south gate starting at your belly button lint – honestly, wtf?).

i’m not talking about outnumbering you, pod. i’m speaking directly to the guy conspiring and complaining about being double teamed. it’s a game format where you face two opponents at the same time. pray tell me how you expect to not ever get double teamed, be it intentional or otherwise? numbers play a big part in the perception of that, and your QQ about sf is irrelevant.

uh .. we really didn’t need to replace ZL, especially since only a handful of their total numbers have actually transferred (they only started transferring mid-week this week) & the bulk of their guild didn’t WvW anyway ….

it’s funny that you focus on that screenie, but not the rest of the night before or after it when hod was holding keeps in all three BL’s. a single shot of a single moment is pretty easy to twist to your own conspiracies, but that doesn’t make it true.

believe it, no one’s conspiring against you. we wiped ET and then turned around and wiped FC, both one right after the other in front of AP. given the amount of both i’ve seen moving around in EB i’m pretty sure both were just about your full force in the map.

i’m sorry our numbers are more than you were expecting, but you’ll get no apologies for having us in your tier, especially after you begged for it for so long.

also, ET, i don’t know what you did to drive mend away, but thank you for it. they are a welcomed and talented addition to our Wv3 numbers & i’d rather run beside them than away from them (which some of you are very good at).

dear dh, sf need to come up and play with you. i think you might outnumber them but it’s been a few weeks since we got to play with each other that my memory may be fuzzy … might be pretty equal.

dh is on track to leak 40 pts away this week … and i’m not sure why. current projections leaves sf a whole 12 pts out of your tier with about 30 hours to close the gap.

i’m wondering if this is why ioj and dr finally woke up, they’re afraid to come down to t7? in which case i’d really have to ask them, what’s so bad about not being outmanned all the time? don’t your teammates WANT more good fights and an actual chance of winning?

where ever hod “is” it isn’t feeling any pressing need to prove itself to anyone, and the people i’ve had the great pleasure of being in wvw with day after day certainly don’t care what the 0.01% that post here thinks of them.

hods population is primarily north american. we have all of one large’ish international guild and they are the bulk of what limited euro/sea/oceanic coverage we have … last i was on during those hours it was about 15 or so people. was a few weeks ago, well before sf was bumped up.

as to the rest, people get tired. be it tired of getting their kitten beat, or tired of playing as much as some of our dedicated wvw players do, or tired of the drama that hod has done a remarkable job of keeping (mostly) to itself.

beyond that after our fall we were left with people who are honestly just here for good times and good fights. if we wanted to win all the time, or even most of the time, we’d transfer somewhere else. we were fortunate enough, during free transfers, to pick up some great players and guilds that share this mentality. good fights, good times, and win or lose you make the best of it.

we are fine, thanks, and having a blast.

edit: d a n k – i have to assume from your pictures, and discussion with havvik, that you aren’t talking about the same fight i am. i don’t see the same guilds in there at all, and where i was/when i was for 3 hours there was no LK present.

ahh i think you missed the subtle inference there that the tower was held on purpose, and the keep was ignored on purpose.

every port was used to destroy your siege, not to flank you. i’m pretty sure just about every one was successful.

i was downed twice, once resulted in death. so few people died that i didn’t even get to finish my daily resurrect stuff.

edit: i’m not in mend, not sure why you think i am. i typically wv3 with a VLK tag.

the problems hod faces are myriad, but the biggest one since SF moved up is a bunch of people deciding to just stay out of wvw.

instead they stand around LA and say things like, “i wish i didn’t care about wvw so much, because that score makes me want to cry” .

and i /facepalm … and bite my tongue … and am reminded why i stay out of LA as much as possible.

well it’s in the early hours of SF’s massive coverage gap, so naturally they’re losing everything in sight.

but don’t worry, they’re facerolling t7.

sf’s population is similar to what i recall playing against when we were matched with dh. on the weekend, sure they outnumber us .. but as predicted once the weekend warriors die off and the week day grind hits, it’s just a matter of coverage & peak times.

it isn’t a wafflestomp faceroll, as sf would like it to be. they get boastful about it because their peak times are our lowest. the forum warriors don’t post that during our peak times their bl is green & during nsp’s it’s blue. gods forbid they admit they were managing a measly 65 ppt this morning … egos might go explody.

it would be an absolute blast if all 3 servers had matched peak times, but we don’t.

it’s pretty dull for me to log on & see everything green, and prance around sf’s bl as a lone moose without seeing a single defender.

anet artificially inflated the NA t8 ratings, pushing sf to up t7 & dumping gom down in t8.

let’s call it a “band-aid solution”.

squads let a commander put a poi on the map, see how much siege the people around him have, and erm … talk in bright yellow text.

you can’t even see where your squad is on the map.

it’s a pretty useless mechanic, though the yellow text is nice.

you can transfer for free if you delete your characters. at any time, to any server.

this is not new.

i do believe it carries the same 1 week limit as paid transfers, so you can’t abuse it TOO much, but nonetheless … you can transfer for free, to any server.

i have no problems with sf getting a chance to face equally matched servers. i have a problem with ONLY them being given a chance to face equally matched servers. bumping them up was meant to be a temporary solution, but what they should have done is a ratings reset to equalize it across the board.

temporary as it would have been, it would be a better solution than kicking gom in the nuts for (apparently) shiggles .. because honestly, there’s no other reason to have dumped gom in to the same problem they pulled sf out of without first fixing the problem.

i don’t mind facing sf. they aren’t “stomping” anything or anyone any worse than hod did last week, so it really doesn’t say much about their numbers or their skill.

the current tiers become pointless when you consider that a much less populated hod also held it’s own against darkhaven – currently at the top of t6.

@speaks – hod, fc, and et were all medium population servers for a few days. briefly gom, sf, and nsp had their populations adjusted to medium so they, too received a few transfers to bump them back up out of the free bracket. all t7 & t8 servers received transfers, it’s just a matter of how many/few & whether or not you’ll see them in your time bracket.

sweetheart, i think maybe you forgot that anyone can transfer for free, to any server, at any time. it aint hard. no one is stuck anywhere they really don’t want to be. i’m sorry the thought of a ratings reset upsets you so but if JQ is deserving of being where it is then it’ll stay where it is.

this isn’t about SF, isaac, so go be a forum warrior back in your JQ threads.

they implemented free transfers to med. pop servers and totally screwed the top tiers of euro servers, because one of their TOP servers was medium population. people didn’t transfer there go to PvE.

not only that, but there are servers in various tiers that should not be there, based on wvw population activity. the ratings has stagnated matches beyond reason and left giant rating gaps where they do not belong. free transfers has done nothing but aggravate the problem, and it has NOT worked itself out as they had planned.

it’s time for a rating reset, and this time do it without warning. give everyone equal footing and no time to scheme their performance and skew their position.

there’s actually very little difference, population wise in wvw, between t6, t7, and t8. it’s more a matter of time zone coverage and weekend warriors vs weekday persistence.

if tier is important i’d recommend you wait a few weeks yet to let the free transfer fiasco settle some servers around. if tier isn’t important you’ll find what you’re looking for on gom, et, fc, nsp, ioj, dr, dh, and of course on my lovely henge.

i’d say read match-up threads but those are a tiny sample of the wvw population & very irrelevant to the overall server. no matter which one you pick you’ll find trolls, forum warriors, game politics, people you’ll hate, and people you’ll love. like anything, you’ll get back what you put in to it.

i sometimes think that a lot of people forget that this a game and gasp it was meant to have fun.

so i have fun. i turn people in to moas. i prance around as a moose. i alternate between the two, and it keeps me (and the people i play with) entertained.

fun times. there’s no strategy to it. don’t delude yourselves in to thinking that a lot of people on hod give a crap if you outnumber us, or outscore us, or outzerg us. honestly, we do not care. we are here to have fun, and that’s that. if we gave a crap about winning or how leet our opponents were, we’d have transferred to different servers long ago.

so chest thump all you want, talk “strategy” till you’re blue in the face. we’ll be here having a lot of laughs at your expense, and we don’t care if you like us or not.

the arguments and self righteous garbage here are pretty sad. i swear the internet is 98% populated by 12 year olds who think they’re rebellious for saying bad words.

good thing all i do in wvw is turn people in to moas, or i might actually have to start giving a kitten about all this crap.

btw, sf … how you liking your moa commanders? i like them just fine, especially when they run away.

am all for a total ratings reset, now that you’ve let people transfer all over the place for free. reset it all and let the tiers adjust themselves accordingly, while you figure out how to fix the bad math problem.

i was really keen to see if the twilight guardian would leave twilight moa footprints but sadly, i lagged and did not get to see the result as he’d run away before my lag went away. i logged off before anything reverted to a tower, and iverna logged before i did. in fact, i think the bulk of us headed off around/within the same time frame.

whatever the XvZerg +siege+fort nonsense is, it isn’t what we’re talking about, so please stop sullying our clean fun defense of flame rams with this.

when the flame rams started to drop, you knew nothing good was going to come of this.

i laughed so hard i nearly peed my pants.

the guild that was in nsp’s bl wasn’t fielding 40-50 people. i think there was maybe 20 or so of them and a handful of tag-a-long players.

the giant “zerg” defending hod’s bl late in to the evening was also about 20-30 people at most, which is normal for our own bl – we have a dedicated crew that likes to keep it locked down.

eb is where you find most of the “guardians of denravi” alliance guilds en masse during reset night and weekends, and slightly less so during the rest of the week.

prior to the transfers, hod has successfully led & held a lead at/immediately after reset despite being significantly lower population than either of the other two servers in this tier. even after free transfers your servers are still more populated than ours.

being on hod, i can confirm that you are deliberately being double teamed. my hubby has a stash of screenies of various commanders telling people to stop attacking gom because we are apparently working together.

glad i haven’t set foot in eb since before reset. shameful behaviour, to say the least.

i’ve had a lot of fun this week. loading in to eb after the patch was scary … for the first time since ever i saw you all. ALL. and i cried a little inside. it was glorious.

i’m not gonna deny it, i’ve been busy stealing people from other servers. i had hoped to initially boost hod’s euro & sea presence from virtually non-existent to something that could at least defend our bl & maybe overlook (i know i’m so greedy).

we definitely got transfers in the end & either both gom and nsp did as well or you were REALLY culled out for me before and you simply outnumbered us 4 to 1 before the transfers came in. i mean, i know we were outmanned a lot, but i didn’t think it was by THAT much.

seeing stuff like this gets really tiring. file a bug report & get on with your day. if it was more than that a dev will ban people. if it was only that then it’ll get fixed eventually.
