Devona’s Refugee, recently arrived to F.Aspenwood
Oh? He did? Well… I was hoping I did something brilliant. Ah well, good thing I didn’t stomp him, or I would’ve felt bad. :b
Well, just woke up, decided to take a quick camp in the DH BL before I had my tea, and then I was interrupted by an unknown guardian from INC attacking me. Hoping it would be a nice quick easy fight, I initially fought in the circle, only having a couple of vets to still deal with, but while a pesky scout kept blinding me, I slowly began to realize that, no, this wasn’t a fresh 80 guardian new to the game (I suppose the gold armour should’ve tipped me off, but… eh, haven’t had my tea yet.)
I did wish I had the time to take a decent screenshot, though I figured it was a pretty decent fight, though it took rather long too, what with, well, guardian on guardian, and I figured he was more of a defensive type with his greatsword/mace+shield combo (and I was more of a defensive type with a hammer). After I fell back further to the south, at first I was starting to get the impression that the fight would just drag out forever, what with my offensive strategies not quite doing enough damage to him, and both of us getting to full health rather quickly. At one point I even shrugged and tried to run away, figuring he might want to call it a draw, though he was kind of keen on blood, and I suppose it was seeming like I’d lose, what with my health dropping a little further than his.
Perhaps luck played in my part, but I finally managed to get a nice combo worked out and hammered him down. I suppose I am a tad too nice, but I couldn’t really bring myself to finish him off after such an epic fight, so with a salute, I was off to sip tea and post a screenshot that has barely anything to do with the fight whatsoever aside from a snippet of the combat log.
Eh, I’m going to wager that when I wake up tomorrow the map will be green as usual, but we’ll see. Would be nice if somehow we were all equal in points this week… (with DR being more equal than others.)
Feh… I want to play tonight, and yet for the first time ever I’m getting ridiculous amounts of lag tonight, with everyone bouncing everywhere, before running into walls, and then five minutes later I get teleported to a tree and watch a zerg eat me up.
/sigh
Yep, getting nasty lag too, and yet I never actually had a problem with it before.
Well, looks like the separate thread to discuss whether certain methods to use the arrow cart is an exploit or not has… well… mean moved to the Exploits section where only mods and devs skulk around, debating on whether or not they should actually fix such things, or just make a new backback.
It’s still a little vague enough that the exploiter supporters can say it doesn’t apply to them though. :/
Really, what would help Tuluum is if Devon outright says that it’s against the rules, and that there’ll be patches down the road to solve it, but…
…and then the debate for numbers turns to Vietnam.
…
I… I can honestly say I did not really expect that to come along. It reminds me of the Hindenburg incident, actually… I will leave you a dramatic picture of that momentous event that has serious implications for this thread.
Feh! You Darkhaven dandies simply can’t handle the nutritious metal these badges provide, making us DR as tough as… whatever the frell these badges are made of. (Seems like aluminium foil and chocolate to me.)
…and furthermore, eating metal, shards of glass, and children’s drawings not only keeps us DR strong, it also weeds out the weak! …which, actually might explain our dwindling population.
Aww~ I’ll still respect you. <3
I’ll stomp on you repeatedly and eat all your badges, but I’ll respect you.
Sadly no, couldn’t really tell where exactly the offending AC’s were (and I figure there was three, as indicated by the third picture). There was a tad too many DH throwing stuff at me that I really couldn’t give it a good look over. Picture number 2 is basically what I could see before I had to scurry back.
I know, it’s not the whole server, but still, I was (and am) quite miffed to find out that it’s been going on. Figured Darkhaven already had enough of an advantage…
You know, yes, I was being too [redacted] reasonable towards those smug cheating Darkhaven. It’s not bloody enough that you’d pretend that you don’t have overwhelming numbers or superior coverage. No, no, you’d have to pretend you’re all sweet and innocent while your arrow cart exploiters are busy eating up our siege.
Absolutely disgusting.
FriskyHandsOh, and pixie, I said to you:
Please stop being reasonable and easy to deal with on messageboards. This is the internet, after all.
Or, basically that. :P
I know. I just didn’t quote you since I figured the mods were going to snip nearly every single one of your posts. In fact, I don’t know why I’m even quoting you here. I think I’ll change your username.
There! Much better.
Eh, after putting up with annoyances as SWTOR and Planetside 2, everything (aside from Trahearne) in GW2 is pretty agreeable with me, even up to putting up with Kaineg gobbling up everything in sight thanks to some overhyped guild that couldn’t handle tier one, and minced down to Tier 8 for some odd reason.
(It just doesn’t put me into a venomous rage that cheap lightassault bouncing around in a huge barely defended base, a pvp system that thinks a preformed group full of jedi should be matched against a group of pugs full of newbies, or datacrons did. Frelling datacrons.)
We’re working on top super secret IoJ stuff.
The only time you will see a DR zerg is during primetime.
You also forgot about NoQQ’s 35 man zerg that specializes in taking on 15 man darkhaven groups full of uplevels and innocent puppies. (I’d say kittens, but then someone might think that kitten means kitten, and not actually kitten.)
…is it just me? Or has it seem that IoJ’s been pretty quiet in this thread as of late?
Or rather I guess DR and DH has a very rather vocal usual suspects… I suppose I’m also eager for SF to show up in this tier as well, for some slightly different material to talk about.
I love how you DR people keep saying we use the SAB zoom bug…
(edited by pixieish.9627)
Oh my. Your thread is so much more interesting than our thread full of muttering about numbers.
Feh… it’ll just mean even more zergs. Have you heard about the stories they say of Sorrow’s Furnace? They say you can’t even see the grass as it’s all covered in red names, as hordes of vengeful former Tier 8’s roam the landscape like former Tier 8 locusts, devouring innocent Tier 7’s while they scream out how it’s inconceivable that a Tier 8 server could survive in their far superior tier. Months of sitting on top of two smaller Tier 8 servers have ensured that Sorrow’s Furnace has had time to experiment with all sorts of siege placement. None of it useful, of course, but still, you’ll be wandering along and BAM! Unexpected rock catapulted to your face from a Sorrow Furnacer who’s only form of entertainment from January was sniping champion grubs at max range. And their server name is well deserved, for deep within their evil lair they harvest sweet sorrowful tears and use it to heat up their evil rooms to a comfortable 23 degrees Celsius, the most evil temperature setting there is!
But… but if they leave, we’ll get trounced by SF for at least two weeks while IoJ gets to have fun in Tier 7.
I can guarantee you that all the hardcore players don’t mind the current system. This sounds like catering to the tier 8 casuals.
And I can guarantee you that only baddies think that wasting their time prancing around plucking sparkling bags is a good idea while everyone else is busy killing the enemy. This sounds like boasting from a hunter fighting way in the rear.
Eh, I’d just like an auto-pickup option. Yes, option, for those of us that have little bagspace, or think that running around a battlefield mashing the F button is fun.
Look, here is a screenshot of DH assaulting our tower with more people than we have. THIS ISN’T FAIR!
Psst! Helps if you have an outmanned buff handy in the screenshot. As well as a group of rednames doing something that seems rather petty…
…right. Anyways.
Not looking too good for the battered DR in the future. If DH moves up, we’re just going to be going up against BP who also have superior night time coverage than us. And if DH doesn’t move up, well, SF probably will be saying hello next week or the week after, while the vengeful Tier 7 gnaws on IoJ for lunch.
Of course, my money is on Sorrow’s Furnace reaching Tier 5 before Dark Haven.
Poor Jezri… I would’ve rezzed you!
Well, maybe not, but I would pretend that I would.
To me the entire rank system resembles the wow pvp ranking system pre burning crusade in short a pvp bone thrown our way in the form of a senseless grind.
That’s not fair… at least pre BC WoW bothered to put the titles in ascending order (“Alright! I’m now a… recruit? W.T.F. mate?”)
I suppose I wouldn’t mind the titles too much if you could pick which one you’d want displayed. (Personally I wouldn’t mind sticking with Knight. I rather like the idea of being a knight.)
Personally I think things are going rather well for us in IoJ’s borderlands. Pity about the poor Reds, but… Hills looks better in blue, trust me. ^^
I would believe that it is apparent to us all that some of my respected opponents are rather miffed at coming in third what with the very narrow margin of victory. To be brief, I am rather chuffed over this result.
I am certain that those of Devona’s Rest shall be even more miffed after we take the opportunity to acquire all of their undefended territory whilst they sleep. I am more than confident that those of Devona’s Rest have never seen this strategy before, though there is the possibility that I have yet to observe the map whatsoever in the past matchup, much less at all regarding the server’s history.
I am shocked, shocked that there are those that would portray themselves in a manner that depicts them as victorious, whereupon I would much rather have them depict themselves in a much more negative manner. Granted I myself have failed to thoroughly express my own faults, but I would assure you that is due to my own superior nature, and not at all relating whatsoever to anything remotely relating to hypocrisy.
I would also like to observe that I have arrived before Gab and his fellow accountants.
I say, good luck to those of you of the fairer gender. You may tell this person that absolutely no one has heard of aside from myself that his non-existent services are no longer required.
Personally I prefer to post silly pictures of myself sauntering down a staircase.
Eesh, hectic reset night as always… we finally began to hit our stride in DRBL though, unwittingly helping our own server, before joining in to try to push the sinister Darkhaveners from our borderlands once and for all!
…for five minutes at least, I’m sure.
Well, usually we do go for your cute behind where we’d have the element of surprise, but I figured a frontal assault would be even more surprising and…
Actually I figured I’d charge in first to be the guinea pig. If I died very quickly, then hopefully it would have given enough warning for the rest of our team to run away while heroically flailing their arms.
I really should just turn off team colours though. Not only is it unnecessary with a big red tag over everyone’s head, green really doesn’t go well with your pink hair. :p
Yeah, not quite the same fight, though we seemed to have a bit of bad luck stumbling into Darkhaven this evening… even getting flanked a couple of times while we were busy trying to flank someone else.
Meanwhile, on ADQQSTY chat~
“Okay, let’s make our way to the tower, and… there’s a clump of DH ahead…”
“Oh they’re weak, you can just dive right in.”
“Are… are you sure? I mean…”
“Yeah, if you dive right now you can take them…”
“Well okay but OHGODTHERE’S SO MANY OF THEM!”
“…I… okay, actually I don’t know where you guys are. Where are you guys?”
/me dies of giggles from the slight miscommunication
Man Oozo, were you in that fight where we [PD] kept getting pincered by the adnoqq guys into the IoJ masses by a NW tower (We were catting it and then almost everyone else got wiped)? Your tactical withdrawal and come from behind massacre to us was pretty nice – we were just starting to make ground against them. In the back of my head I knew it was coming tho, I just didn’t have the foresight to get our guys out lol. We were having a helluva battle there including when ya’ll showed up, that was a ton of fun.
Hope to see ya’ll out there more!
PS: just got my char guardian leveled and equipped so maybe I won’t die as often in those crazy situations.
See? This would be a compliment.
Personally, as I hesitantly followed Charrcat as he charged into you guys like you bathed in tuna or something, I will admit I thought we were committing suicide what with not one but two massive blobs of red names.
In the end, it turned out that IoJ really didn’t care much for us helping them (that, or they rather liked Stylii’s skimpy outfit and were a little zealous in trying to follow her), and hunted us down in the skritt caves while I tried to do my best Daffy Duck impression.
ok, this has gotten silly lol. All this darkhaven hate… yesterday in DR BL i was at the keep and a group of about 35 people (quite a few [NoQQ] in the pack) were making a push on our forces which were roughly …12-15 people , who by looking at guild tags were mostly Pugs ect.
So you folks would make a push, the second you met any resistance…you would fall WAY back..and hope for a few idiots to overextend. rinse and repeat.
now i understand this as strategy..but it sure seems people are flinging insults taking one portion of a battle and picking it apart, calling it cowardice.
jaxx
Yeah that’s… that’s quite the compliment. Would love to see how you handle yourself on a date.
“My god that dress looks like you’re wearing a burlap sack! And your perfume, did you just go into the story and doused yourself with all the trial scents? Oh, and I like how you did your hair today, even though I’m sure a monkey could do better.”
Personally, I’m starting to think that maybe they should just get rid of waypoints in the keep. Everyone keeps muttering about how zergs get around the small maps so easily, and… well, waypoints do make a small map even smaller.
To a Charr Warrior from [risk], fighting in DHBL a couple of hours ago against the ADBBQSTUFF, quite a few of us were rather impressed at how you continued to charge into us, trying to take us down while the rest of the darkhaveners sort of held back and just watched you. Pity I didn’t manage to take any screenshots (at all tonight), but did manage to salute you before you were taken down.
Also was rather impressed by how stubborn a few DH were in spite of us managing to fight them off repeatedly at the southeast tower. (Well, if you could really call it a tower with holes in all the walls, and the trebs taking the time to start damaging the bridge as well for fun and giggles)
If not, then we will stay in this tier and get stagnant from lack of proper contest.
Eh, I don’t think you’ll need to worry too much about things getting stagnant for DH… Looks like SF is planning on charging up to mid-tier, itching to get revenge on everyone for leaving them trapped in Tier 8. Who knows, maybe even the other Tier 8’s will claw their way out as well, and brutally pummel us all as they desperately fight to stay out of bottom tier hell. :b
[jezri]Give me ear rubs![/jezri]
Not fair! I keep missing out on all those fun fights. :c
And now for an incriminating screenshot of the NoQQ leader (targeted) leading a zerg. ^^
What I would like them to do is simply merge every single borderland and the battleground into one huge map, with additional objectives to fight over as well. Of course, I’m sure that would result in all sorts of wonderful problems for the codemonkeys, but still… bigger maps would let us have a bit more room to maneuver and avoid the large unwieldy zergs.
Had a bit of fun tonight, especially at Danelon camp, where an impressive number of DH flooded in, pushed us all the way out, where we were able to stall them under a fierce barrage provided by three ballista, and then proceeded to push them the other way. (Of course, I would edit out the parts where the Darkhaveners summoned their reinforcements and had their revenge…)
Also at some point Darkhaven gave us a nasty little surprise when we charged into Danelon camp, only to see a hell of a lot of ballista and a single arrowcart, I think this was at around 8-9pm… what was with that? Someone got bored of building siege at Stonemist and figured they wanted a change of scenery?
(edited by pixieish.9627)
I’ve also had some rams eaten by the gate, though it seems it happens when I probably put it right into the gate rather than a bit outside of it.
Is this the fight where we were wiped by your smaller numbers?
So jealous of that fun little fight you guys had. And I missed it because I made the brilliant decision of going shopping for groceries last night…
And just to make this post a little more useful, here, have a score update.
Gryffindors gotta griff!
Well we wouldn’t want you to have to change your sig to Everyone’s favourite Middledogs. :p
I’m on a server that gets to unfairly jump on two demoralized servers and see no problem with getting easy PoI’s while controlling EB, all three BL’s, and have dozens of our zerglings dancing on their spawnpoints. As a big pufferfish in a very tiny bowl with two goldfish squeezed under me for several months, I see no problem with the way things are currently set up.
I agree! If someone can’t bribe an entire WvW guild to transfer to their server or just hop to a winning server instead, they clearly don’t deserve that one little point of interest that really has nothing to do with WvW whatsoever.
I do so wish they changed the system. I’m busy trying to fight, and running to the next fight. I don’t want to prance around a field delicately plucking up glittering bags for my well deserved plunder. If I could have some pet to pick it all up for me I would, since I just know that somewhere in that field of corpses behind me there’s a precursor.
Then I just started to shoot arrows at the front of the flanking force to hopefully get attention. Never did get anyones attention, except for DR!
Well, I at least would have politely waved back at you, except in my culture, politely waving involved charging at someone before spinning in circles to cut up as many people, with a formal introduction involving use of a very large hammer and…
I’m sure you’ll forgive any misunderstandings. :b
I tried to take a nice screenshot of you, Jezzri, but four Darkhaven kept interrupting me. :c
CrazyCanuck.4265:…
Blight, nearly choked on my dinner when you commented in the video that the Ele was just getting outplayed. xp
(So typing “ kitten ” at the start of a post makes it completely invisible? Odd…)
