I’m planning to transfer away from Kaineng because Kaineng makes it really difficult to do WvW map exploration which I really need for 100% map completion for one character. And considering that Kaineng is stuck on the color red like three to four times in a row, it kinda shows how much fail Kaineng is in WvW.

While I might dislike Kaineng for being the bandwagon server that probably finished off Devona’s Rest after Maguuma gave it the killing blow, I’d hardly call them a bunch of failures just because they have had an inflated rating after that silly Warmachine guild and their groupies jumped ship and as a result the server had a few weeks of bleeding points to get back into their right slot.

Though yes, Kaineng will be red for at least a few months you know. No chance whatsover of it rolling green while being put up against servers lower than it. You probably should switch while you still can. Hurry! And I promise I won’t laugh in the very slim chance that Kaineng completely dominates its opponents right after you leave. ^^

It would be the in-game equivalent of giving players fun, challenging content and making it the main source of rewards in the game, as opposed to grinding.

Here’s my worthless grumblings…

1) Challenge should not mean “Bang you’re dead.”

If I have some big huge nasty monster showing off it’s nasty abilities, I’d actually like a few seconds to appreciate my possibly impending death. For some bloody reason your developers seem to thing that “Oh, and 33% of your guys are dead now.” is a good game mechanic. Take Grenth. “Hey! I’m suddenly in the air and… yep, dead now.” I actually got to help a five man kill Grenth the other day, after spending maybe an hour on doing three tries while our lazy NPC Charr snoozed away. Our glorious reward for taking the time and effort to actually kill the bloody boss while avoiding getting our NPC killed? A blue! Well, wait, I think that other guy got a green. And then we got overwhelmed by spiders afterwards.

Which brings us to point number two…

2) The rewards are probably a complete waste of time, and you might make better gold running around in Queensdale

An hour to deal with some horrible boss that likes to fling you around for inexplicable reasons. Even if we fragged him and the following unhappy swarm of spiders that are appropriately scaled to kill a group twice our size and got a chest with a guaranteed rare, do you know what I could’ve done in that time instead?

Yes, CoF1.

I honestly don’t know why you guys thought that AC was the one that needed it’s difficulty ramped up, while CoF1 is so ridiculously easy that people get kitten y if you slow them down by a minute and kick you. (Of course that’s why I don’t join the zerker$$$$ groups, but I’m tempted to. On my engi.)

Suffice it to say, if I can get a drastically superior amount of rewards doing something ridiculously easy, why would I want to go to drab zone of grey drops?

3) The zone is absolutely bland

I understand that some people like how the zone looks. Sorry, two and a half zones. Let’s see, you have your coral covered something that might’ve been a building, you have your coral trees, and sand. Copy and paste ad infinitum, and there! Or, well, I suppose there actually might be some interesting spots to look at here and there, you just need to organize a group of people to spend an hour trying to unlock it all for the privilege of receiving nearly nothing. And in ten minutes the unlocked stuff gets overrun anyways so you don’t really get bragging rights.

Not to mention that once you’ve seen one Risen, you pretty much have seen them all.

Well, I suppose that Champion Risen Spider was impressive. That is, impressive in how much of a waste of time it was to try to fight it. What’s that? Fight something that spawns a large amount of spiders to tug you around every which way? And their spiders spawn even more spiders? Oh! Oh! And none of the spawned spiders drop anything, so you’re spending, what, maybe 15 minutes for the chance of a glorious blue drop? What fun!

Find all the missing suspects in the world! It’s time to crack down on crime by catching every single suspicious character in ever zone, all of them! It’s like Where’s Waldo, only Waldo has five hundred clones, and they’re all heavily armed and need at least a fully trained five man team to persuade them to come in quietly!

No More Secrets:

Return to the crime scene, but it has to be at a specific thematic time that only the ANet Dev’s know. Could it be five minutes from now? Or twelve hours? Wait and see!

I’m wagering (and my wagers haven’t really been going well for me so far. kitten it fangs!) that the price will just drop and drop, probably even to 1 copper once everyone eats all 250 and start selling the excess. I’m slightly sure there will be a bump in price near the end of the event, once… wait, scratch that thought. There might be a rush to buy 1c candies for the 10gold wings, but with the current cover selling for 20gold, and given how the candy doesn’t really seem to have much use besides buying 20 minute food, the market will probably stay absolutely glutted with candies unless if ANet brings out something over the weekend.

Right, so my prediction- It’ll drop to 1 copper very quickly, bump up to 5 copper (probably a spike of 20 copper thanks to speculation), before plummeting back down to 1 copper again when people try to sell off all of their stockpiled candies for the end event bump.

I think the shattered wings look better anyways. …now if only they didn’t constantly flap around.

Myself, I sold when Crystal Dust was unnaturally high, guessing (and turns out rightly so) that the price would drop whether by unexpected patch or people running to Orr to farm it after they got bored from Southsun.

…now if only all of my other guesses were so profitable.

I tossed all of my skill points back into the arrow cart mastery. Oh? What’s this? You can’t outrange ballistas anymore? Well boohoo! It’s still -the- defensive siege weapon, able to rain death on anyone that even thinks of ramming that gate, and its potential bag generating capacity is only outdone by a superior ballista inside Stonemist.

As for those NPC traits, I don’t really find myself trying to solo towers that often, so…

Eh, I pretty much learned my lesson thanks to the free key offered for the black lion chests very early. With every free key unlocking a whole lot of nothing, it just reinforced my opinion that it really wasn’t worth spending any proper currency on.

I’d have to agree with everyone else in that really, there shouldn’t be any surprise whatsoever that any RNG box tossed out by ANet is just there to leech your money and offer you absolutely nothing in compensation whatsoever.

Stop tossing money at those lazy moneygrubbers who spent all of an hour to make some chintzy weapon skins and go to a casino. Seriously, you not only get better odds at a roulette table, you’d get better rewards too.

Ever since we tried to explain to Charrcat this foreign concept of sieging, he’s ran off and never been seen since. Regretfully Jezri was saddled to him at the time, and so we lost her as well, proving yet again that having a Charr as a mount is probably not a good idea. Especially a Charr that can only communicate by shouting and using lewd gestures or crayon drawings.

Oh my. FC takes second place in points, and it’s a few select IoJ crowing away victoriously?

You guys must’ve gotten pretty trounced hard in those weeks DR fought you so long ago to be so emotionally scarred that you’re just frothing at the mouth for a very strange and unusual revenge.

(Yes, it annoys me when IoJ easily takes all of our stuff overnight due to lack of defenders, but I can’t really hate their aussies for taking easy points as opposed to, say, politely touring the place but leaving it untouched.)

Eesh I’d pay cash for some decent oceanics on this server. Getting tired of all these clowns strutting around like they’re something special because they have some aussies that really like ramming barely defended towers.

Not that DR is anything special either, as it slowly dies little by little. Seriously, if we had some kiwis, I’m sure we’d be able to lure some of our fairweathers out of wherever the frell fairweathers like to hide. (Not too sure how a flightless bird is supposed to help us in WvW though, but eh, better than nothing.)

Ascended items available for WvW was coming out ASAP… took them a few months and they just did a half decent job of it at best.

The glorious February WvW update… came out in March, and was just a few traitlines for killing guards and making ballistas useful.

Arrowcarts, acknowledge to be overpowered, with a fix being worked on quickly! …and then weeks later they finally put in the effort to add a single extra piece of code regarding damage to siege.

What? You though buffed arrow carts would ruin WvW? Well let ANet show you that they haven’t even begun to properly muck things up.

Coming up in the next patch, watch ANet accidentally turn all of WvW into an underwater world, with godlike rangers swimming amok.

Oh god, it’s going to take them months to properly nerf arrowcarts…

You know, regarding the whole month of WvW (that was supposed to be March, right?) and the updates following…

Yeah, it’s pretty bloody disappointing when the PvE’rs get all these nice new shiny dungeons, and WvW gets bupkis. Nada. Zilch.

“Oh! But the ranks are new and exciting and…” No. All the ranks have done so far is given ballista and arrow carts a bit more use. And these… these abilities to fight guards better? Why? Why should we care about fighting against NPCs? NPCs that are already dumb as bricks, and get fragged easily by a zerg which ANet loves so much, and the only time I’ve ever felt threatened by them was either when there was a buffed Champion still in Stonemist castle, or when I felt like solo-ing a camp and some inconvenient Hyleks decided to show up.

No, this has all been a waste of time with all of these promises of massive changes, and I am now of the opinion that no one in ANet has any clue whatsoever regarding what they should do to improve WvW.

I agree that this change is unlikely to materially affect the precursor market, but I’m not so certain that it won’t affect ectos. Remember that this change means that some people who weren’t previously spending time chasing world bosses will now be rewarded for in a similar fashion to those who do. I don’t have the numbers to judge how significant the impact might be however.

I’m wagering there’ll be a drop (say up to 5 silver even) when all the tier 1-3 servers open up their 50 chests all at once, but I’m also wagering that the ecto market will hop back up to current levels considering how I’m fairly sure that even with WXP chests, WvW will hardly provide as much rares as PvE.

That is, in my newbish opinion anyways. :b

In a game of airships, dragons, teleporters, holograms, and talking trees, I for one am shocked that they’d have a bikini in this game! There has to be some sort of consistency, you know.

Ectos will probably drop in price even more… Precursors, however, I’m pretty sure these chest will have the same odds of getting a precursor as bonking a skritt in Queensland, so I wouldn’t wager on a drastic drop (barring any lemmings mucking around with the market).

…would be nice if the precursor market did crash though. Just to amuse me.

I’d have to say, DDLG had some pretty good timing this evening on the NSP BL. ADQQSTY had its back against the walls after fighting off the swarm of NSP (and with some GoM as an appetizer), our guys slowly dropping, when suddenly the DDLG cavalry just swarms in. <3

Oh yes, you’re getting 0 xp from Player Lemming, but you’re also getting lootbags while Player Lemming is likely getting armour damage, unless if he’s outmanned, then stop manning the ballista pointed at his spawn point already.
