The anger of the OP made me laugh for some reason, but tbh he’s right, pretty much every race besides human (and maybe charr) look horrible.
It feels bad to have all characters human because other race look like some sort of abomination, lol.
Steath needs a counter. Currently it doesn’t have one. If you attack something from stealth, it should reveal you regardless if it does damage or not.
It does have plenty, Aoe, necro sigils, CC like the #4 hammer warrior, even moving away from the thief while spamming dodges/teleport will work since the stealth will eventually end.
If the stealth would actually work like you wanted the thief would be screwed up since many times people get very long time of aegis or blocks and a revealed applied in the middle of a fight without getting any damage in return would screw the thief up.
I’m not saying it wouldn’t be more skillfull, but it just wouldn’t be balanced.
just wanted to say my 2 cent:
playing agaiinst pet zoos is indeed very frustrating but that’s not the only problem, it also increase the general chaos that already dominate pvp.
Seriusly asuras can result to be completely hidden from pets, just wtf
those buff seem random buff trowhn all togheter, while i can accept a balanced change of the stealth these changes seems terrible
It happens on thief too, mainly after i use various dodge skill (#3 SB / roll for initiative / dodge heal ) if i spam some of them too quiclkly i often get stucked, no really idea what causes that.

It would be awesome and add a skill factor since atm when a teamfight with 3+ people of both teams start is pretty much chaos (since there can be mesmer, thief using pet elite, necro with pets, rangers with spirit)
Hate : Overall class balance and the fact that anet seems to not really know what they want to do with some classes.
Like : I don’t have to pay anymore so i can play whenever i want
I like many of them, like those:
Improvosation – Instead of bundles, this trait now gives bonus damage if you are in posession of a stolen skill. Stealing now instead reduces the recharge on all utility and elites by 5 seconds.
Hard to Catch – Immunity from 1 crowd-control effect. Buff: your next dodge roll within 5 seconds costs no endurance. 60 second cooldown.
Assassin’s Reward – Increased base healing recieved significantly.
Last Refuge – Now gives a buff that gives stealth on your next attack at 25% health.
But i don’t really know about those:
Dagger Training – Increased dagger damage by 7.5% for each Dagger you are weilding.
Hidden Killer – Now instead adds 30% Critical Chance while in stealth. Adds a static 10% Critical Damage.
wouldn’t all that damage be too much overkill? do we want another oneshot era?
Last refuge works great. It helps me more than kills me. You just need to learn to watch your health and understand when it will activate.

Also if in gw2 as a thief your 90% of hp can get bursted in about 1 second, so from time to time it will happen to die because of this trait
Stop being drama queen, between ele and thief in pvp situation thief is much better, and i would say even funnier to play, but a fact is that thief lack of pvp variety and every month you have to heavly change build to adapt to the nerfs (thats why i almost completely stopped doing pvp)
The funny fact about gw2 is that most of the end game content is based on appearence, and still most of those appearence things are unobtainable or limited to only the time of certain events, wich is just irritating.

I love the concept of the weapon, but i don’t have gw1 and the wiki says you need hall of monuments reward points, there is any other weapon with maybe the same skin or some way to get it?
I see nothing wrong about pusnishment on people with bad connection, why you should ruin other people gaming experience because of your connection?
You’ve been lucky enough to get invited in a party instead of a warrior, don’t push the luck deciding to use weapons you like.

Btw don’t use the immob shot 4 times quick after eachother. 3 stacks is maximum (there were a few times, maybe I saw wrong, where the immob didn’t go up because the 3 stacks were still active)
Maybe consider using devourer’s somewhere in there, or panic strike for more lolz
The P/P part was before the immobilize nerf, it was a bit old in fact.. i don’t even know if its still “viable”.

Of course is a noobjoin, these build are horrible, you’re pretty much useless by using them, but since i dislike very much the normal gw2 pvp those kind of builds are the only one i play, you know, for fun.
Well pvp MH sword isn’t a choice anymore

i created thief because a want an 1v1 spiky class, not an aoe buffer, i higly dislike these builds, if i wanted to be a support class i wouldn’t play the thief class in first place, and yes i am angry because instead of increasing the viable build for direct fighting they are reducing them in exchange of those support builds.
ITT : there’s not much to speculate about, it seems a bad heal, but as always you have at least to wait the spell to be in game before deciding if its viable or not

I don’t see hard to catch, this build is bad.
I just find the Infiltrator’s Return huge nerf is terrible, it will make any s/x setup horrible, plus it will remove one of the best spell the thief ever had wich is a mobility ability, the way the thief is supposed to survive in battles.
I love the capability of doing spike damage as a lone wolf, then disappear with invis/teleports/dodges, i always played class like this in every game.
I higly dislike the fact that playing thief its like walking on a thin ice, your actual build could break on pretty much every patch.
I wonder what i will do with all that +0.33% init regen without any decent build to use lol.
So.. what build do you think will be viable after this patch?
well a d/d 0/30/30/10/0 build or a some sort of p/d condi build, but seeing how they will nerf aka fix runes of perplexity the p/d will lose a lot of its confusion stacking potential…so mostly just d/d left
Well i was talking about competitive builds, d/d will still be bad even after the 33% ini gain imho

I would support to remove downed state (not dead ress tough since they are so slow they don’t affect much pvp) but the problem is the absurd damage this game has in pvp, so before working on downed state they should work on damage output and combat system generally
Basically im looking for a build (traits,weapons, equip and runes) for level 20+ fractals and another build only focused on damage to use on easier dungeons.
I searched on other topics but i’m not too familiar with pve builds so i don’t know if they are out of date.

HELL NO! That was the worst thing that happened to GW1, and is right after ascended items on my “omg, they’re gonna break the game” scare list. It’s the perfect excuse to not balance PvE at all and just allow stupid overpowered kitty to exist. Ursan, Cry, Shadowform, for example. And because they were PvE-only, it took them a YEAR each to notice they were ruining the game and do something about it.
(Not implying Shadowform is fine now, but it was nerfed at least. And SoS is still unfixed, afaik.)
Actually splitting pvp and pve is the perfect excuse to have everything more balanced to the context they are inserted, that’s a good example, SS was op in pvp but good in pve, where mesmers aren’t good like others classes.
Balancing skills so they are good in both pve/pvp are harder than having skill only to be balanced on one of the two side and as we can see Anet is not capable of doing balanced skills on both sides.

This would be a very good solution.
That’s what happen in a game that doesn’t have such tools like any sort of 1v1, people have to arrange something like this to try their strategy/talents; anyway the answer has beeen given some post above me.
does anybody here know that if a thief is slowed or chilled the heartseeker range became a lot less?
btw i wouldn’t mind if they make changes to heartseeker, since heartseker spam is too easy, but a direct nerf or an heartseeker to aim would be just stupid.
the only thing they should do on this , like on many others thief ability is to convert the actual instant damage in some other abilites as much useful as the actual abilities

i like how fight works, they’re dynamic, requires knowledge etc. etc.
but aside from that is really boring and easy, i always love pvp but gw2 pvp bores me after really short time (mainly because of all the issues people said in this pages)
basically most of posts are like " are you crazy asking for nerf on an op trait? you play mesmer too! if we get an op trait we shouldn’t tell to anyone this! "
And then it continue with " remember when other classees were op? it wasn’t fair "

This is the perfect example of a whiner.
They buff a class that isn’t the class you play, you come on the official forum and start whining saying “X is OP gjgjgjgj nerf plz”.
Yeah the thief have another performant build, they should nerf it instantly, also they should nerf invi, backstab damage and initiative, oh and also remove the thief class.
i always tought that too, imho the thief have a very few weapons to use and some new weapon should be implemented

the only thing i really hate about this update is that now d/d build will probably will be used more than before, also p/d didn’t needed a nerf at damage.
so yea, i agree nerfing the burst damage of the cnd steal bs combo, but where’s the buff to compensate?
