I think being the underdog suits SOR better than the reigning champ, having a goal to strive for is more motivating than fighting to keep a crown that gives no perks imo.
Anet employees play on all the servers. I remember them doing a video WvW tutorial on SoS (I think) and a recent Q&A session about the future of GW2 on TC.
Why would a commander move out early when people from his/her guild are still coming in to rally up? I know many of SOR’s guilds are already handicapping themselves to make this match up more even and fun for everyone from logging early to running upleveled necro/mesmer groups instead of their mains . If you want such perfectly even fights may I recommend spvp. Many SOR guilds are itching for some gvg action.
My staff ele and AH guardian are very powerful in a large wvw group but I’m running from every 1 vs 1 fight, and I don’t think most people would blame me. I’m not built for dueling and my fields and boons are needed elsewhere.
JQ has more commanders on Southsun Cove than in all WvW maps…
My guild has more commanders online while doing guild missions than all WvW maps combined, it is just 100 gold. All T1 servers have massive untapped pve reserves, if only a tiny fraction could be converted to WvW there’d be queues 24/7.
I’m just happy for SOR’s Asian and Oceanic crew, we are finally able to hand over upgraded stuff so they can hold some territory despite being totally outnumbered. I don’t think I would have the fortitude to keep coming back day after day and carry as much weight as they do. Mad props to them!
Warriors can be very good support characters, but I still think guardians can do a better job with all their line/ring of warding, sanctuary and various bubbles that reflect projectiles.
Our past may come to haunt us.. In the distance there will be a giant cloud of dust kicked up by the thundering hooves of a hundred beasts of war, their warcry will be “patronize this ya punters!” as they overrun any SOR zergs unlucky to be in their way. Survivors will have large curious shaped hoof prints across their backs and burns from fireworks and sparklers. Fear the dolyak parade, TC will have her revenge. Hide your women and children O.o

I don’t get it, did the addition of one EU guild really kickstart SOR that much? Of course I am very happy for my server and grateful to IRON for having the balls to transfer to the underdog server, but I’m hoping this power is sustainable past this weekend and that people aren’t burning themselves out through long hours. And if it is, lets be more classy about it than JQ/BG have been. “Winning” has always been a numbers/coverage issue rather than skill. A trash server would never have made it to T1.
I played a random no-name korean mass-pvp mmo (RF Online) where the maps were reset 3 times a day, every 8 hours to accommodate the different prime times (NA, EU and Asia). That probably wouldn’t work for GW2 but shortening the matchups down from a week would improve things imo.
That is the thing though, if you are going to troll and paint a bulls-eye on you guild, said guild better be able to bring the pain. Especially if you are a NA guild and you kitten-talk the server who rose to T1 mainly on the strength of their NA crew. And now you create more drama here.. mentally I’m nicknaming your guild “My Ex.” (:
A staff guardian’s autoattack is one of the best at tagging in GW2 and your shouts and ability to hand out boons like crazy will keep you and the zerg alive to keep on getting drops.
Do people really enjoy playing on a stacked timezone that much? I remember when SOR was like that in T2 for a week or two after SBI had imploded and TC, while doing their best, were totally outnumbered. SOR pretty much had all 4 maps capped and there were a swarm of us just wasting time sitting outside TC’s spawn. It was the most kitten shameful and boring half hour I’ve spent in GW2 and I logged in disgust and didn’t go back to WvW until SOR finally moved to T1.
I can’t imagine people actually paying gold to transfer into such a situation and continuing to come out for weeks and months to PVDoor and look at an all green map.
JQ is like the calm before a storm. Also SoR, can you do something about your ppt. We need to do our best to prevent DB from ever coming into T1 no matter how much i would love whipping raw

After trying the new Neverwinter mmo (so far GW2 looks superior in almost every way) and playing the cleric.. I want my guardian to be able to summon and throw holy spears with a shield offhand. It seems like a very unique and guardian-ish ranged weapon and definitely looks cooler than a sceptor imo.
There is no real downside for rangers going heavy Beastmaster/regen 0/0/30/10/10 or something similar. Since pets don’t get any stat bonuses from our gear we can go tanky and rely on a buffed dps pet to dish out the pain.
My guardian looks like some sort of asian/samurai heavy warrior. Armor is all Banded except for the helmet and leggings which are the crafted Draconic. Greatsword is the Ceremonial Scimitar/Naga Fang.
Has SOR ever imploded? I don’t even want to think about how much it would suck if one or more of our wvw guilds transferred, hopefully all if not most of KN’s guilds stay put for T2’s sake. Last I checked the scores there seems pretty close =/
I love my power necro and how much aoe and how tanky she is in wvw. I only wish she had more access to stability and protection and had more escape options.
By dissing TW, isn’t votf also indirectly disrespecting Fo0? As I understand it the gvg in question was on their terms and TW had to team up with FEAR to match the numbers. As long as there is no official gvg mode, a guild can be defined as whatever match terms were set.
I’ve never played DAOC but I really liked Aion’s character info. You could search and see every player’s gear, stats, pvp rank, total kills and past 24 hours and week kills. They also had each server’s Abyss (their version of WvW/WZs) where you could see which faction held which points.
