Isn’t this the guy whose app got rejected by IRON so he transferred servers and started having this odd obsession with SOR?
SOR was running noticeably lighter tonight, after last week’s grunge match it is the smart thing to do to avoid burnout. Everything is being flipped back and forth and everyone is having fun fights I think. There is no reason to do to SBI/SoS what we did to BG’s BL 2 weeks ago ie SOR bl 2.0 tri-keeped and fully waypointed :p
This popcorn is delicious~
<snip>
SOR’s history is a long list of mostly second and third place which is where the underdog status comes from, it isn’t our fault BG and JQ take turns imploding. Like I said, stability. As for transfers, small guilds come and go but SOR has never had to deal with anything on the level of ATM or MERC switching sides.
(edited by renmei.3102)
How are you going to compete against JQ then?
shrug SOR has always been the smallest of the 3 T1 servers population-wise. We are the least 1st place finishing and the most stable T1 server with no real server booms or implosions/drama. We don’t get too many bandwagoners (thankfully, they’re mostly PPT stomping bait) and no major wvw guilds transferring off.
lol go to bed, nite nite. There will still be plenty of people to kill and bags to collect when you wakey wakey
Based on past mismatched matchups, SOR generally isn’t an kitten server that goes out of its way to spawn camp and demoralize other servers that aren’t named BG. Lets have a clean week, we can always learn from other servers and set up some good fights no matter what the PPT is~
Free transfer to low wvw ranked servers might be more useful. With guesting, there is no real reason for pve’ers to worry about transferring so server population is useless.
lol there is a big difference between asking for donations to help the last few remaining members transfer and straight up headhunting guilds from other servers, paying for every member’s transfers plus extra as a bonus.
Guardian has more “oh kitten!” skills to stay alive and get out of a dangerous situation. As a commander you job isn’t to dps, buff, heal, or anything other than staying alive so your group knows where to move and drop damage.
I would urge people not to count BG out yet just because of this week’s performance, the score was pretty kitten close until the wvw servers went down. When they came up BG made some bizarre and incomprehensible choices that allowed their own bl to be tri-keeped and triple way pointed while they were busy rampaging around TC’s bl capping everything and trying to push SOR’s bl hard but not getting anywhere and not paying attention to their own map..? Their wvw population is still there.. just doing really dumb things. We’ll see if they bounce back like they have in the past.
And SOR does have the best community, I’ll give zero kittens if we come in 3rd during the leagues as long as we’re having fun.

You play on JQ dude. Everything you say is invalid.
Don’t ever insult me like that, kittening gross >.>
If you don’t even want to test your skill and try to win against higher tiered servers I don’t know what to say…
There is nothing about skill here. It’s facing a server with A LOT more people than you 7 weeks in a row that is very very dull.
Then blob only 1 or 2 maps, ignore the rest and learn how to compete, there is still a population cap per map so you can fight even numbers on at least a map. You won’t win the match, but if it is true that the only thing that separates tier 1 and 2 is numbers and not skill then you should be at least able to hold your corner of a map or two and keep morale high by winning your fights open field away from all the t3 walls and arrow carts.
The problem with tier 2 isn’t just numbers, it is the classes and builds most of the random pugs run. In the past few weeks of facing TC, FA, DB and SoS my guild didn’t have to worry about taking on 2 or 3 times our numbers because they melted on contact. The week we got back into a matchup with BG we ran face-first into a brick wall when we tried the same thing against the first known wvw guild on reset night and we had to revert back to “tier 1 mode.” What I’m hoping is the leagues with its forced matchups will cause servers to adapt and the blowouts will be much smaller.

SOR having BG’s bl capped and triple way pointed is their own fault. Their own map was being overrun but their big wvw guilds kept trying to push SOR’s bl hard. When that wasn’t working out for them they left and capped everything in TC’s BL instead of responding.. I just don’t understand what BG’s main NA guilds were thinking or even if they were coordinating and talking to each other at all.

I say one thing but the screenshots show another story, and I accuse others of propaganda and fact manipulation. I am coin~
lol You know we can see your mini map right? All those friendly green dots invalidate your qq, a rough count got me 40-60 friendlies unless you guys run heavy rangers and pet necros xD
I just don’t understand.. SOR has BG’s bl tri-keeped and they are swarming TC’s map instead? There is a time for taking softer targets and another for server pride.. go take your kitten back -____-
SOR waypointing the enemy garri on their home BL.. sounds strangely familiar..
Havoc squads my foot, the current meta seems to be to send the zerg into the mid to cap it fast, then send a small squads to keep the nodes decapped. If the other servers are close to getting the orb and the countdown timer is starting, send the zerg back into mid. Not sure if this is what the devs wanted.
There is no pressing incentive to to capturing garrisons and towers other than to demoralize or kitten off the enemy servers, or to take away their way point. If PPT/winning the match for the upcoming leagues is important to you, then you’ll get may more points by getting 2 or 3 of the orbs and setting up a situation where the enemy server’s pugs and less experienced players lemming into your group in order to try and save an (perceived) important objective like their spawn camp/tower, north camp and end up getting stomped over and over. I’ve seen my server get 30-80 points in this manner in a very short amount of time..
There are a few BG guilds who seem to be doing some shady stuff, but that can be dealt with privately. In the meantime, please send all your surplus wigs to “Diggins” Dgins.
Bring it brah, time to settle old scores
Clerics + healway is very viable in wvw zerg fights, I find it much more survivable than PVT tbh when playing front-line. The damage is mediocre but that isn’t your job as a guardian anyways. Your job is to survive and stay in the fight while handing our boons, some minor heals, clearing condition, giving stability to the other front-line warriors and necros and doing pulls/cc.
Jesus Christ BG, how many banners do you have in garrison. An hour and 30 minutes of fighting in garrison and unable to cap with all those banners.
SoR… talking about banners…
Never been in an hour and 30 minute long fight with that many banners in our garrison. The last 30 minutes BG didn’t even have a force anymore, it was just 30 people bannering the lord while 10-15 tried to ninja our hills.
There was probably 30-50 banners dropped on that lord.
30 people bannering? Try 5-7 with necro and a lot of trolling.
Reading comprehension is key~
I hope that when this league stuff comes out.. if there is a blowout match of 1 T1 server vs 2 T2, if a comfortable lead has been established then the rest of the weeks should be just karma trains and organized guild fights. It is in everyone’s best interests that people don’t stop showing up to wvw from either boredom or from being demoralized.
I think it is always a good choice to have multiple types of food in your bags depending on the type of situation you are in and your build (of course). I’m always popping diff foods when I change from zerging to roaming/running back to the zerg.
Looks like 25-30ish people taking a keep. Not all that unusual or overkill for t1 or t2..
Get 2 or 3 orbs, park your group outside of the enemy’s north supply camp on their home bl or the supply camp next to their spawn and watch your PPT skyrocket as they lemming into you for easy stomps. Even if you eventually get wiped you’ll easily come out ahead. So.. horde mode > gvg for PPT.
GL to FA and SoS, JQ.. get used to this for leagues~
The 0/5/30/30/5 is based on Altruistic Healing meaning every time you give a boon to your teammates you get a small heal. It has more burst healing but its weakness is that it depends on you having a large number of friendlies on you and you need to be constantly performing actions in order to get your healing. So when you are alone, you are very weak. But if you are in a zerg fighting another zerg you can auto attack with your staff and get constant heals and not have to bother looking at your health bar too much
Another popular guardian tanky build is the Healway 0/0 10/30/30 build. You don’t have AH, but what you have is very high passive health regen and fairly high heals whenever you dodge roll. With this build you need to be more active, if you notice your health getting a bit low you need to dodge out of the line of fire for a few seconds and you’ll heal up naturally. But if you aren’t paying attention you can die pretty easily if your regen gets overwhelmed. The upside is that since you don’t depend on others for your self heals so you can hold your own in a small group or solo fight. Personally I find the Healway to more survivable but the first AH build is a good starter build for new guardians. With both builds your job is to be on the front lines of wvw and take hits, dish out pain, pass out boons and cleanse conditions for the other melee around you.
12 vs 10, looks like a fair fight. Why are you making me gag defend BG?
It is too bad that HUNT won’t be around to rp as big game hunters :o(
Maybe instead of antagonizing and belittling your server’s PVE guilds, try making friends with and working with them every once in a while? On my server some of our wvw only guilds are friendly with our elite pve guilds, they have a few members who wvw several times a week and sometimes try their hand at commanding the puggies. We invite them into the wvw teamspeak server and we work with them on traiting and gearing them out for success in wvw so everyone has a good time and they help us wvwers out by going to their wealthy guildies to help us out with siege blueprints just sitting in their bank, crafting superior siege with their now useless skill points now that they have their legendaries, and sometimes even large gold donations. Sometimes we run guild missions together so we can get our commendations fast for the ascended trinkets and get back into wvw fast. It is possible to build a community, that is why the pve and wvw servers are linked. Try it.

So you’ll be dancing in overflow, have fun with that~
With an even population the lower tier servers would still get crushed. Stop running zerker gear, learn to fight together and cover each other’s weaknesses. Learn how to defend towers, keeps, and camps. Come to a T1 server and see the huge difference in play style.
There is a lot of truth to this post. The idea that lower tier servers don’t/can’t zerg with the same numbers as the T1 servers is kinda a myth, just not across all 4 maps. The population diff is real, so usually they give up on the 2 enemy BLs and pull back into their home BL and maybe their EB corner where they blob it up with numbers equal to or greater than ours. The problem is that an 80 players zerg of zerker longbow/bear-pet rangers, flamethrower/nade engis and other non-synergetic builds and classes just melt on contact. I think that more mismatched matchups will have lower tier servers adapting and the blowout will be much smaller.. I hope.

I heard a certain SoR guild that apparently no one likes was offered 10k xD
last i heard FEAR went PvE and Ace is leading Teq raids with Indo and Wrex
rumors!
There are about 25 FEAR running around with Jade Quarry at the moment. Are these guys imposters or are they taking a break from SOR to get some fights?
I think they wanted to wait a little bit longer before letting the cat out of the bag, but yes FEAR has transferred to JQ but has gone PVX. Ace did his first SAB run and EB jump puzzle last night and it sounded like he was actually having fun for once.. creepy.
But forum warrior-ing in this week’s thread would be like beating up a kid with Downs.. “haha your ppt sucks, thanks for the lack of bags because there is no one around to drop them”..? sigh There is no fun in it >.> I’m more interested in giving props. The other time zones are nothing but karma trains but late NA is fun, ty FA for bringing the fights.
The answer is that for low population servers, Bloodlust doesn’t mean all that much. Even if you have all 3 buffs, if you don’t have enough people stomping or enemies to stomp it makes more sense to go for objectives instead.
A minor PVE guild~ (:
You see, we were playing hoard mode inside DB garri but mommy made me go down for dinner or she was going to take away my xbox :o( They were no longer giving any wexp so it’s fine I guess, but I wanted dat champ bag >.>

woot~ merc is going to JQ?
Whoa wut? I hope this isn’t a troll O.o
There is a guild on my server that uses several d/d eles in their 20-man group and are really really good. I don’t play the class so I can’t tell you how they make it work, you can check out their video here.
I’ll offer my old spank mags and 1k mithril ore
Could someone fill me in on all the guild movements/transfers among BG and JQ in the past few weeks? Trying to keep track of all the sordid details and drama is harder than following a daytime soap opera~ One day someone comes into our thread saying that JQ is over-stacked during oceanic, but when I look today BG is ticking at 400+ during that time zone. Ya’all as schizophrenic as my ex~
For a tanky zerging power build, something like x/20/x/x/30. Your extra points put it where ever you want. The 20 in Curses gives you chilling on blinds (use plague form as your elite and spam that blind) and ground targeted wells. 30 in Soul Reaping will give you +50% crit while in DS and buff it as well. Drop your wells in the middle of the enemy blob, go immediately into DS so your wells will crit like a truck and spam your DS 5 and 4. You should see big numbers flying all over the screen. Stay in DS for a bit and spam 1, it would be a good idea to pick up the traits that give might on Life Blast and make it pierce. Use PVT armor with zerker trinkets or some combination depending on your style/skill level.

Watching your wvw only guild calling it very early and trying to do guild missions is pretty funny. Apparently we are horrible at jumping puzzles, don’t know our underwater weapon skills very well, avoiding swimming into mines is hard, we wipe to jellyfish and ice wurms more than any BG/JQ megablob, and can’t break our habit of stacking on the commander and focus firing targets. Also, getting a dozen guildies to coordinate emotes are kitten near impossible
