I’ve seen several commanders give tips on class wvw builds, siege placement and group movement while commanding. Kinda like when twitch streamers do Q&As with their viewers. But it is much easier to just direct new players to join wvw guilds, half the time the new players who really need the help aren’t in comms anyways.
Right now is a weird time since the seasons just ended and a lot of people are taking breaks from the overtimes we pulled. On TC the only time a queue pops is during NA and only on one map, maybe two once in a blue moon. I noticed that it mainly happens if a popular commander is leading, all the pugs will jump to that map. Or if an important objective is getting attacked then the map will get queued to hit/defend it. The only other exception is the karma trains on Friday where everyone blobs up one map or two, no one cares about defending and everyone relaxes in vent/mumble.
You have a choice between destroying doors, those don’t don’t really fight back, or go roaming. Roaming is fun, until you encounter the enemy bus at which point your are dead and you have to walk for hours again just to get to play the game.
So.. you tried to ninja a tower or something and tried to roam but got ran over by a larger group cus of a lack of situational awareness. Sounds like you are clueless and not very good or aren’t using a decent roaming build. Plus you didn’t mention trying any of the other parts of wvw like following a commander, joining a wvw guild, open field fights, assaulting or defending a keep or gvgs.
Your post is like complaining that GW2’s pve sucks cus the only thing to do is feeding cows and kicking wurm holes in Queensdale. You haven’t done anything yet, yet are qqing on the forums.
Right now what what I think most people consider late NA and the people you’ll be playing with are the night owl NAs and oceanics who are logging in early. There won’t be too many people pn (at least for T1’s standards) but there should always be at least one or two commanders on leading a consolidated float team of maybe 20ish people in voice chat + random puggies that has sentries at all the important structures and will hop maps to defend or attack the important stuff.
On a tier 7 server, I had over 150 in the server TS, plus a decent sized guild running in raidcall on reset this week. If we were to merge with another server, how many of us are going to get locked out in queues on the weekend? We queued 2 maps, and I would expect that any 2 servers from the lowest tier would still queue all 4 maps for several hours at NA prime time during the weekend. When I was in T1, if I wanted to play on the weekend, the queues would be long, sometimes hours, during NA primetime. If we got merged, my choices at reset are to jam my buttons and hope I get in fast enough, or go play another game on friday nights. I can tell you quickly I would stop jamming buttons to try and get in, and just play another game.
Which T7 server are you? If this is true, then you all have equal to or superior coverage to TC and FA~!
It looks like the 2vs1 on BG was necessary to have a semi interesting season. With the death of SOR there is no server that can challenge them straight up as things stand right now. JQ is still plagued by their same old weaknesses of no EU, a weak NA and being heavily militia based. TC is a Tier 1.25 server after the transfers, their coverage is better then it used to be but still has many gigantic holes and many of their guilds are still very relaxed and fun loving which makes TC a fun server but won’t be getting them any gold medal wins.
After this second season I’m predicting BG will go back to steamrolling unless JQ or TC gets some quality guilds to transfer in.
For me this isn’t a big deal, I’ve got 7 lvl 80s, but for these brand new players.. come on anet. I enjoy the game but you aren’t helping me promote it >_> This was reported 2 hours ago and it’s still broken.
If you are constantly getting killed by enemy zergs as a roamer then the problem is with you, what tier you are in doesn’t matter. You are either geared/traited/utility slot ted incorrectly or you aren’t paying attention to your surrounding and deserved to get run over.
Even in NA tier 1, there are several good “havoc squads” of 5ish players who can camp and enemy spawn preventing zerglings from getting out, and when a guild zerg comes to clear them out they disappear and can’t be caught.
Play against an organized guild group who knows how to use necros and you’ll find out how fast a zerg can get instantly downed if a noob commander runs into the necro’s burst. Sure m showers hurt but it’s too spread out and random. Wells are concentrated pain.
Is the double team on BG due to wanting the (lol) rewards or due to bad blood, history and spite? As far as I can tell it is the latter, changing the swiss system isn’t going to change anything.
I hope you realize you are in the wrong tier if you want to chest thump about being a roamer~ It’s about as funny as a tier 8 guild bragging about full capping an empty EB during the off hours lol
Zerglings run from roamers, roamers run from havoc squads, havoc squads run from zergs/map blobs. Map blobs get owned by the all mighty DC/game crash & hour-long queue. Know your place in the hierarchy, everyone runs from something and chest thumping is funny and kinda sad.

This is your first mistake, no sane server is dedicating a zerg solely to keeping the orb. You are thinking your job is more important than it really is, that orb “meta” you seem to be chasing is already one patch old (maybe 2? Not sure).
Chest thumping over the orbs? With the recent changes there is no real pressing need to hold more than one unless you have nothing better to do. Taking BG’s away from them is more of an afterthought and a minor annoyance that is best completed as quickly and efficiently as possible. So congrats on being road bumps I guess?
I don’t care about winning 1st or getting that doly finisher. If I would magically get the T2 servers into the top 3 spots, SOR #4 and JQ/BG the last two spots I’d be just as happy a winning. I’ll be kitten ed if the “arms race” fundraising, ddosing and 1k gold backroom deal offering server or the bandwagon server beats us without a good fight~
JQ has no right to cry about being double teamed when you joined BG and double teaming SOR hard out of the running for first, we lost 8-9kish points iin one night. SOR will deal with BG for the next 3 weeks so we’ll spite you this week for for holding hands with BG and for the bs easy schedule of yours.
All these JQ tears are pretty funny, you were perfectly happy double teaming SOR for those two days and knocking us out of contention for first. Did you really think that hand-holding with BG would last if your score started coming close to 1st? What comes around goes around, JQ just got to play kingmaker this match gg

shrug i’d rather deal with queues than be on an unorganized wvw server again. The PVers will move on to the next living story or whatever new event anet comes up with next. I’m patient.
Male sylvari, make one with dark red skin and equip the t2 cultural armor and the t3 head for a demonic look. Got all the pros of good human-like movements and not being generic-looking.
I don’t care about the finisher and I don’t care about coming in first, but the thought that JQ gets to karma train and relax for almost half of the league schedule while SOR and BG have to burn themselves out is just irritating as hell.
lol I can just imagine it, if the population numbers weren’t so skewed (no omg tier 1 zerg! excuse) they’d get a crash course in map politics/control ie working to make sure the 2 vs 1 isn’t against you (no super secret backroom dealing with enemy guilds required!)
Sounds like a minor agreement between a few guilds, people trying to use this as an excuse to tank is pretty lol. There couldn’t have been some widespread agreement to inflate SBI’s score when we just took SBI’s EB garri and we’re going for their BL garri as well. To try and implicate the entire SOR server in this is pretty kitten.
lol like how some people used to think that TC was a BG puppet since they were so xoxo <3 <3 on the forums? But it turned out that on the fight TC proved to be their own server and not some pawn.. for the most part :p

edit: lol at the raging post above me. You do realize that a weak time zone in a tier 1 server is locked into being outnumbered and kitten upon for months and months. They don’t have the option of rolling over and waiting for the week to be over and the big scary enemy t1 server to go away and leave them alone. SOR’s oceanics has been tier 1’s punching bags for months and months so when they talk about toughening up they have every right to.
It seems to be a recurring theme, this morning I was watching FEAR do a mini 5 vs 5 vs some SBI guild and one of the sideline engis kept on jumping in at least twice that i saw. I was about to jump in as well but FEAR wiped all 6 each time anyways without dying so I just laughed and /cheered from the sideline.

Hey don’t look at us, it seems to be mostly SBI, SoS and Mag pvf warriors going at each other :o We’re trying to be the nice guys here but there seems to be a lot of hate towards tier 1 servers in general lately :-(
It is good to see you figuring out how to fight outmanned. I know there is this perception that all the T1 servers are queued 24/7 with 6 hours queues but this is not true. In the past each had one or two time zones where they were weak and the others were strong and their guilds had to learn how to fight while getting blobbed hard. Unlike the T2 and below servers we don’t have the option of just sitting the week out and hoping for a better match next week so they had to adapt. I know that for the many months SOR’s sea/oceanic forces considered keeping 200+ PPT and not losing our two garris a win.
For the leagues I’m predicting that some T2 servers will learn how to fight against superior coverage while keeping morale high and the T1 servers won’t be ticking 400+ anymore.. and others won’t.

With a blowout match like this week’s, all our fairweather players and pve commanders are out in force and they all want to go to EB for whatever reason. In a normal T1 matchup this would never happen >.>
For me I don’t mind a boring matchup as long as it isn’t back to back. This match up against SBI and SoS has given me a chance to recharge my batteries, take a short break and even run some pve/dungeons so I can try out new armor sets/builds instead of constantly having to jump into wvw to save a fully upgraded Hills/Bay/Garri.
or you could split up into groups of 2 or 3 and actually fight us with even numbers, we’ll give you alot more fights there.
We kind of already are, what you are fighting right now is far from a full strength sor. Guilds are logging very early and fielding far fewer numbers than usual. I know mine was running with 12-ish tonight instead of the usual 30 and we had a backup commander leading who needed the experience. This is the week for them to make mistakes and learn, and for the rest of us to take a breather and rest up from the usual t1 craziness.
