[Suggestion] weaker heals

Well, the last time I was playing meta ele build I was using my healing skill just to get more might stacks instead of healing myself and that build is the most squishest build we could consider.

Zerks do not have to earn any “meta” status or whatever. Meta is simply what most people consider to be the best way to play at the given time. Nerf the prime builds and something else takes their place and you have another crusade to lead. Proverbial hydra.

Future of existing PvE Zerker Meta in HoT

How do you know what the meta will be at the beginning? Can I get that crystal ball?

On the more serious note, it’s far more likely that most people will play safely at the start because the content will be new (plus the work of the AI consultant). At the launch zerkers were considered cannon fodder and the meta was soldier because everyone was not familiar with the content. Zerker meta is simply the result of the general population getting comfortable with the content.

lag with low ping ?

How did you measure your ping? Lagging and low ping measurement is possible if you suffer from packet loss (since windows ping measurement is just 1/s).

If your teammates or enemies do not experience any lags it’s most likely not the issue anet can solve because it’s something to do with the route your packets traverse towards anet’s server.

Wow look at that amazing video worthy achievement and team coordination with active defense/healing skill burst.

You are right perhaps dodging is not the only mark of skill.

The only 5 man zerk that is impressive are the ones setting speed records for a dungeon. Aside from that, zerk is low skill play.

So much coordination it was barely possible to achieve for a human being

I agree, zerk is low skill but other types of gear are even lower.

Show the math please that supports 20%+

That’s his point not mine:

I’m not sure where you are getting your numbers, but the damage increase from exotic to ascended zerker/assassin gear is a 20% overall increase. (in lvl 80 content)

The only two sets that have a 5% dmg increase are soldiers and rabid gear, since they rely on a single main dmg stat.

I say it’s about 7,5% in direct damage increase and much less in everything else like condition damage, healing, health or damage reduction.

Let’s be fair. they did’t say the new zones would have vistas, hearts, POI or skill points. It’s safe to assume they will be included.

It’s actually safe to assume that hearts will not be included.

20% increase in stats doesn’t equal 20% dmg increase. A complete set of zerker exotic vs a complete set of zerker ascended = 9-10% dmg increase.

The 5% come from armor/weapons only. Its because trinket were easy to get and came first, the 5% came when they launched the armor/weapons and that most ppl already had ascended trinket.

It’s not 20% increase in stats, it’s about 6,06%. His point is that berserker’s gear uses triple stats increase (power, precision and ferocity) so that value is as high as 20%.

The only two sets that have a 5% dmg increase are soldiers and rabid gear, since they rely on a single main dmg stat.

First of all, ascended is better tier of gear only in level 80 content, in lower level content it is being downscaled to exotic tier.

Secondly, I’ve just done some quick calculations and full ascended warrior with 65003 build has 85 more power and 47 more precision and ferocity. That gives about 6% more effective power with no buffs and about 5% more effective power with 25 might stacks, fury and both banners. Together with the weapon damage increase of the ascended tier that gives about 7.5% damage increase.

Thirdly, the most expensive part of getting fully ascended gear is the armour and if you are not doing any high level fractals it’s extremely pointless to craft it just for additional stats. For the price of about 400-500g you get a miniscule stats increase. Defense increase is also tiny considering that damage reduction is a reciprocal function.

Don’t forget that even though ascended tier gives about 6% more stats, you should remember about stats you gain from traits and your base stats aswell. The best ascended item category are weapons because of their higher weapon strength. The rest gives a hardly noticeable improvement.

5v5 isn’t guild v guild, it’s just spvp again dressed up. You can dress up a dog and call it a horse, but it’s still a dog.

Few years ago we had 8v8 and it was the only gvg we had. Now we have those wvwers who love zerging claiming otherwise.

Yes but you like many others don’t realize how the math works. I have 5% more heath your trying to get through. I have 5% more mitigation on top of that 5% more health and I’m hitting you 5% harder base plus 5% more crit etc. 5% in gaming stats is HUGE. 5% more healing anything it all compounds. In EVE people will let their characters train for months just to get another 3% on one particular skill. Because it is worth it.

Except those numbers are much lower in reality. Only 5% more damage is a correct value.

Stronghold will fail.

I can already see that average queue time if that game mode is at least 8v8 and only premades are allowed.

So, do games like this give you +3

I personally think winning a game with an 80%+ win chance should award 0 points though – you aren’t really proving anything by beating a team that you’re significantly better than.

But then, what’s the point of playing as a top team? Usually you would face much weaker teams (because there are not enough top teams) and for winning you’d get nothing and for lose you’d lose your rating. Not exactly an incentive to strive being on the top.

It’s 2,5 USD per chapter and it’s free as long as you log in into the game within two weeks of those releases. That makes it 17,5 USD for all chapters (the last one should still be free). Good thing you didn’t notice how much content was deleted because it was temporary.

Before this thread transforms once again into a kitten storm, perhaps we all should wait for the new expansion.

First of all, it will be a new content and that means safer play with defensive gear will be much less risky, possibly even faster without wipes.

Secondly, we shouldn’t expect any new dungeons and everyone will just start doing those open world activities (because it’s new, in contrast to the stale old content) where it doesn’t matter what you wear.

Thirdly, we will see what the guy from the AI company brought to the table which actually might shake a thing or two.

I think you guys miss my point. I was a zerk untill now and found it too easy and boring.
But other playstyles are not as good as zerks, and i think condies should be more effective in pve.
There is a reason why most of LFG descriptions ask for “lvl 80 war ele zerk only”.
zerk groups can beat anything in seconds. there is no reason whatsoever to try another build. there is no role for a condi or a healer in those groups.
So i think the non zerk builds should be more “needed” in pve.

There are no other playstyles except condition specs. How else do you want to kill your enemies? With retaliation? No, you swing a sword and then you swing it again.

Healers don’t work here unless you have 5 people in cleric’s gear which surprisingly works and allows you to unbind dodge key because it’s no longer necessary. No clue how thrilling that would be. Please, a place where you can cheese is in the mists.

Well, ‘easier’ is complicated. Berserker gear certainly should put you at the lowest possible risk of raiders’ fatigue, but if that’s really killing people in a fight that lasts less than a minute, then that’s rather disturbing, frankly.

It’s more about proper traits, might and vuln stacking than the specific gear. A person in full soldier’s gear deals about 60% of fully equipped zerker and since most fights can take about 10-30 seconds in full zerker parties (depending on the dungeon, earlier dungeons are much faster because of the new downscaling), fights in full soldier’s gear will also last less than one minute.

Other gear is not rewarding enough because it’s even easier to play. It’s simple, you can’t have something more rewarding while being easier to play.

I find it funny how when the top EU and NA GvG teams fought in an unofficial and unsponsored gvg, it had a comparable number of viewers to the official Esports tournament Anet had to bribe people with precursors to watch.

Sure, when a major portion of the viewers are members of both competing guilds.

The lore is pretty good. But, I have to warn you: some of the most pointless and frustrating battles to ever appear in GW2 are in Living Story Season 2. Most of all, the very last battle and the trailer leading to Heart of Thorns is probably the most illogical and frustrating sequence of events to ever appear in Tyria. The story is great until that last battle and trailer, at which point it really stinks. (It was clearly done to sell an expansion, not to continue a story.)

Do you mean the last fight of chapter 8? I thought that was one of the most exciting battle they ever designed for up to 5 players. No safespots (except portal trick), players are usually under pressure, multiple source of damage, different phases and achievements that are not exlusive and can be done in one playthrough if you are skilled enough.
