Necromancers are like scientist practicing in morally grey and black-ish areas. Like it’s questionable to clone a human being but if one day you can clon and re-attach lost limb why not let them do they job. In GW1 there was even Order that was “taking care” of all necromancer who were trying to rise undead army and ride neighbors. Necromancer were also tasked with putting too restless spirits into grave (again).
But I must admit I always hoped for necromancers to be like Eve from GW1. She joined adventure more because of curiosity and abundance of dead bodies around main hero that for any philanthropic reason.
While I’m not as thrilled as I was expecting to be, I don’t think that I wasted money. Truth be told I kind of miss feeling of the progression and controls something bugs me but I still enjoy the game.
As we know Wintersday celebration is about struggle of Grenth and Dwayna over seasons because of their opposite views on almost everything. I’m curious what if there was some sort of celebration/annual event connected to more or less friendly struggle between other gods? We know Lyssa and Grenth are not on best terms. Any suggestions or ideas?
And I think even Grenth were unable to kill Dhuum. So that means there are truly immortal beings. If even gods felt threatened by Elder Dragons maybe just maybe Zhaitan return in some form. Just mention of him being reborn in next millennium would be enough for me.
1 sec cool down is terrible idea. Some more skilled necromancers (not me ofc :P ) go into DS use on skill and leave it. It may be crucial for them to do it in less than 1sec.
Happened once or twice when I was almost sure that I didn’t pressed F1 again. It may be possible that I just got spike of damage and it ate whole live-force though.
I agree that DS should be something like Engineers F1-F4 skills. I’m trying to use DS as often as possible mainly due to might on use of #1 (from traits). #4 is enjoyable when you are surrended by group of mobs. Only skill I don’t use is #2 – projectile is just to slow, I prefer using grasping hand instead.
Many players, just like myself, like that vibe in Necromancers. While they are walking near territories commonly considered evil they also serve (at least human ones) the most fair god of GW2 universum – Grenth.
Two dynamic events are not working – [Group Event] slay the centaur war beast
– retrieve catapult parts form centaurs
In first one boss creature is not appearing in the second NPC collector is missing.
They are like unicorns, only cooler and with fireballs :P
I’m just through 30% of the game (PvE only player, yes I am), but rewards seems to be distributed with idea of quantity over quality. Maybe it’s shallow but rewards are part of fun for me. I want to be conquering hero AND adventures treasure hunter.
To tell you the truth I like that Necromancer can use melee weapon. Ever since GW1 my dream was going N/W with Ram Hammer :P Axe is no hammer but I take what they give.
Aaaaand desire to do monthly achievements is gone.
Let us be honest with ourselves... Necro bugs, balance and red posts

What is in DS to master? DS dancing for starters, like OP stated – go into DS use necessary skill then return to normal state. Something like attunement dancing for Elems. I know I’m just beginning grasping what Necro can do and I have no delusions that I will master use of DS. It makes me sad because I like that class, and it may be really to hard to learn how to be worthy opponent in current state of Necromancer.
I agree with OP. People often whine (I’m not without a guilt myself) but sometimes their concern are valid. On a plus GW2 is amazing game and I hope Anet would keep up the good work.
Ezekeel I agree with you but you should be more polite.
Maybe we should pop in and out DS to use it as bonus 4 skills. I’m newbie when it comes to PvP but I only used DS as way to escaping enemies, sometimes used #4 during bigger team fights. It may be my fault for not seeing full potential of DS. Maybe some time in game I will.
I was downloading client for 12 hours before the launch :P
Sorry Nidwin, was that sarcasm? I hope so :P
About low health. Elementalist are supposed to have low health. They are scholars for Grenth sake :P Jay, you wrote that you want not to need to switch attunements but that’s what makes Elementalist special, what let them be one of the best damage dealers on battlefield.
Well about being weaker than thieves and warriors… Every class is weaker than them at the moment(especial warriors, thieves need more thought to excel in fight). Elementalist are third strongest class if I’m not wrong :P
From what I read one use only.
@ Ron You may be right but it’s topic about PvP. I would be surprised if people wouldn’t lobby for their class.
To tell you the truth I think we shouldn’t be talking about nerfs for “too” good classes but for buffs for weaker ones. Yes, I know that some classes have higher learning curve than others, but when good (for example) Necro player is equivalent of average Warrior one can feel left out.
From what I read on GW2Guru Necro and Mesmer are most underwhelming classes in PvP. To tell you the truth i read also discussion where Thieves were ranting how weak they are :P
Agreed on that. Although are you sure that missing 5% are from WvW? I’m asking because I don’t know myself.
I agree about siege weapons, but i think that Rangers should be left alone. With same philosophy we can say that Necromancer Marks should damage allies as well or Mesmers shattering illusions should harm your team. Maybe it would be more realistic but do you really want realism from the game where you can play as talking plant :P
One question? Have you played first Guild Wars? Getting 100% cartographer title was one of the most tedious tasks. What we have in GW2 is stroll while we are led by the hand.
