I’m all for return of White Mantles as long as they Mursaat back with them. I was really disappointed when Exalted turn out not to be related to our Unseen – Overlords :P
All things considered Mursaat should hate Elder Dragons at least as much as they hate other races, plus they made out of magic so they are high on ED’s To-Eat-List. Maybe pitting one against another, or joining forces into unlikely alliance to fight bigger threat?
Three days ago I bought pumpkin decoration for my guild hall. It didn’t appear in my inventory nor in guilds bank. It was a bug and decoration is lost or it appears somewhere else?
I accidentally jumped in Lornar Pass and was surprised why glider didn’t open. Good times, good times.
After fight with that world boss I was somehow surprised that it’s reward was smaller than for example Ulgoth the Modniir’s from Harathi Hinterlands. Was it because I didn’t took part in quest preceding fight, or reward for world bosses in expansions are on same level as rewards for champions?
As in topic. Is there a solid reason not to go into that specialization? I wasn’t playing BWE but i heard that it was a blast to try out Reaper. Would our other lines be competitive/interesting enough not to end up with all Necros playing as Reapers?
I would love some player housing. Heck, that was feature that encouraged me to buy GW2 in a first place. Unfortunately it was changed into home instance that is subpar to say at least but fingers crossed for some new developments in a future
i would also love it if they would look less creepy
I on the other hand would love for them to be creepier :P or at least more menacing.
I miss times(I mean in original GW) when necromancers really looked like they spend way too much time with corpses :P
To tell the truth I’m happy for such development. It always looked too cheesy form me to be symbol of LA.

I just started messing with vampiric Necro few weeks before big patch. I know it wasn’t viable but it was fun to play. Is there point now playing one without minions? For me MM and vampiric spec seems to be almost interchangeable. Thanks in advance for any advises.
Me personally I could swallow 50$ price but what disappointed me is no bonuses for players who already had original game. To put it into perspective in GW1 with each new campaign you got additional character slot and additional bank tab.
I kind of assume that if forum-goers were to create expansion it will be “Relationship Wars: Gay of Thorns” :P Awesome name for the band, but not as funny game as one would hope.
Wow, I didn’t suspected that this topic would be alive for so long :P
I still haven’t changed my opinion, that Braham’s surname doesn’t fit. If Eir was accomplished dragon slayer when Braham was born that would be natural. Son would be named after more famous of parents despite any likes or dislikes, but as I remember she was “only” well renown sculptor in that time, as opposed to legendary status of Braham’s father( Borje the Sun Chaser). True that Eir’s legend vastly overshadowed Borje’s, but it was after many years.
I actually agree, that his name should be different. First of all he pretty much hated his mother before living story. I might be wrong, but in first season, he states that he “don’t take after his mother”, or something along those lines. That line of dialog would make sense, if he wasn’t named after her so I always thought, that it was writers intention to name him differently. They changed this along the lines for simplicity sake.
About Eir’s legend being greater than Borje’s is true now, but when Braham was born father was the famous one. She just left them.
Moreover, after wiki “he grew up not knowing who his mother was until his father died”. How he could be named after Eir if he did’t know even her name?
I vote Braham Borjesson.
I think Charrs ate all available horses. That’s my headcanon and I’m gonna stick to it
Maybe he was just mostly dead? (wink, wink)
Please, let it not be a red hearing. Pretty please.
It feels really cheap. Hopefully they use that time to polish upcoming LS.
Maybe they simply forgotten about Halloween? :P
@Yoda Kas met E and from her description we assumed he was a man.
- Who is Mister E?*
Aside from having a generic pun name (Mister E, Mistery… get it?), we do not know anything about him/her, aside from the fact that he has connections to almost everyone and also knows about a lot. This is highly intruiging, since that was supposed to be the role of the Order of Whispers. He has his eyes and ears everywhere and helps us at the moment. However, what are his/hers intnetnion? Is he friend or foe?
I’m pretty sure that Mr. E ends up being human. Apart from player only other characters contacted by him were human (Kas and Lady Anise ). Kas met him in Lions Arch so I think it’s save to assume he operates there. Also there are no chances that he ends up being enemy. With all good things about GW2 stories antiheroes and theme of switching alliances were never it’s strong side.
Also, this would lead to a vertical progression system in which you’d farm for the perfect copy of that item which is against GW2’s Manifesto tenets.
I agree with you, but mentioning GW2’s Manifesto is funny considering how whole game cast out most of ideas presented in Manifesto.
I think my post was too convoluted and it wasn’t clear :P
I have nothing against his crazy talk with Anise. That part of him is one I like most. Parts that worries me are one when he is acting as a “woke again” Dreamer (as Shiren named him ). I would take cutthroat and bomb planting Canach over any member of Biconics team (maybe except Taimy, she is too perfect :P ).
I know that was a joke, I wrote that he told that half-jokingly, because his precious tactics were not so different.
I was looking forward to his introduction to Biconics as some kind of evil token teammate or at least antihero. Meybe we will get light-light-version of what he was during Southsun Cove. For now, at least for me, it looks like he is developing in two opposite directions simultaneously – as a (next of many) straight edge hero and more cutthroat protege of Lady Anise. Finger crossed for the second one, we already got Logan and we know how that ended up.
Died twice. Once didn’t saw that flanking Mordrem Wolfe, second dodged from the cliff :P
It was powerful minion of dragon, he was supposed to be hard. Although he was a bit monotonic after a while.
I must start by saying that I really liked how Canach was pictured in Secret of Southsun Cove. Heck, it was first and only time when story showed some signs in going into moral gray areas. Canach was well-intentioned extremist and one of very few not one dimensional character in game. Despite his terrorist-like methods he wanted to free workers of Consortium, he acted like light version of Magneto. Consortium itself wasn’t shown as 100% evil, mostly greedy and indifferent for others.
After capture and imprisonment Canach started talking that he learned his lesson and want to atone for his sins. That made me cringe. I was afraid they will make him into next knight in shining armor, completely disconnected from his previously established personality.
Now we met him again. He starts by repeating how he is changed men and want to prove himself. Seconds later he half-jokingly mention possibility of planting bombs on party full of guests. It’s like writers still want to make him two intentional, but by making him contradict himself. It was frustrating, because as I mentioned I really liked him in his Southsun appearance.
Sry for convoluted writing and what do you think?
I think Ceremonial Outfit is only for winners of PvP tournament.
Same thought here. We should name them Bloomanoo and Penelopee: The Harbringers of Destruction. Their child will be champion of last surviving dragon and one of final bosses of game.
Or even better, maybe not summit, but those two were Mordremoth’s target
While I’m a bit worried about such prolonged absence of new content, it will give everybody time to farm mats for Mysterious Vine Backpacks. If in addition they use that time to improve Necro’s minion AI I’m in favor
Hahaha, home instance. You mean one of selling point of game, that should represent our journey through land with various trophies? I think it was forgotten long before switching from “This is your story” to “This is story of Biconics and you are just tagging along”
Ehm guys maybe I read wrong, but isn’t the chance increase only through 11 to 12’th of this month?
I really like idea and I will be farming keys till they nerf drop rate :P
I admit that, speed giving items being kites doesn’t make much sense. as mentioned above. but I love mechanic and idea.
I haven’t finished Story yet due to some bugs, but I must say I like idea of using Dynamic Events as part of Living World. It all feels more alive, natural. Truth be told execution prevents me from completing some story steps, but sole idea was brilliant.
Doesn’t that backpack reminds a bit of Scarlet hairstyle?
“Commander”…I like a sound of that
If player character forms something like guild with Biconics, maybe Guild Master? :P
I agree with Mada. It’s for winners/participants in tournaments. You want a prize? Win one yourself.
I actually sometimes take Speed of Shadows in WvW when my server is in minority. Apart from that I agree.
Still, why Pale Tree? What is so important about that one specific, considering there are alluded to be others Sylvari bearing trees out there. Maybe it’s not our Pale Tree? Or Tree shaped something and player characters just assume that is Pale Tree after reading Scarlet Diary.
Maybe the vision just represents Pale Trees in general.
I can work with that. Sylvari would still be plant Messiahs, but now it won’t be exclusive to just one tribe…it would have got uncanny resemblance to certain Chosen Nation though.
Maybe not for same reasons as mentioned above, but considering given time, I liked Belinda better.

Maybe we could use the new playable ghost race in next expansion.
I didn’t know I want it, but now I desperatly need it. Ghost race for the win
Both humans and norm could call it Mists with more Tyria centric view, we don’t know how they look from outside. Humans could also say something about Realm of Torment or mention that orbs at least may be reference to Six Gods. Charr could see it as astronomical construct. Sylvari would see it same as it’s seen now minus Eternal Alchemy, that means Pale Tree in middle and 6 Dragons.
I also thought about Divinity’s Reach.
To be truthful for me that trailer was a bit anticlimactic, while compared to previous two. Fingers crossed for release itself.
That would be a bit of cop out, but now that you mentioned it I am curious how he was able to lift whole peninsula on his own.
Agreed. I always picture Charrs more wiling to put Six Gods on their hit-list, than start prying to them/believing in them, or anything else to be exact. They might find idea of everything being part of big design entertaining, because of their prowess with machines but I can’t imagine them regarding Eternal Alchemy as something else than superstition.
Some flaws in this theory come to mind.
4- During the previous rises of the Elder Dragons there was no sign or record of Sylvari among the ancient races that faced the dragons hence pointing towards the fact that they are a new race. If the Pale Tree is after more control then where was she thousands of years ago during the previous ED rises?
I agree with points 1 to 3 but I think OP’s idea is that Sylvari were Mordremoth minions. Similarly I don’t think if Destroyers were mentioned as race in previous awakening of dragons.
There was discussion debunking Sylvari as Dragon’s minions, but I still like that possibility.
I actually like that idea. Also those two groups makes me think about Primordial Chaos vs Entropy.
There was discussion two weeks ago resolving timeline of Sylvari. It was stated several times in interviews that Secondborn appeared 6~7 years after Firstborn. Now in-game lore regarding Scarlet contradicts that. In such event devs stated that in-game facts trumps reviews. Also Angel told us to take everything told in reviews with grain of salt.

Idea change constantly. Maybe they planned for Zhaitan(happy now?) to be dead while writing Personal Story, but maybe now they changed their plans.

The whole “Commander” topic is another discussion entirely.
Bottom line is that, at the beginning of the Pact (almost 2 years ago in-game time), you were “The Commander.” After Zhaitan was killed, the Pact continued on and you went off into the world to do stuff. At that point, other commanders were brought on, and you become “A Commander.” And you became a commander who had lots of other things to do besides running an army that was repairing, preparing, and stocking up for the next big battle with the Elder Dragons. We could not build a story on that alone, not a good one that made sense, not considering where we want the story to take you.
Any time anyone calls you “The Commander” now, it’s someone being nostalgic. It’s perhaps more correct to say you were “The First Commander.” That helps us explain why you’ve been running around the world saving people as opposed to being locked in a war room with Trahearne. I’ll see what I can do to get this explanation into the game.
In conclusion, I’ll just say again that we do pay attention to the forums, and thank you for posting your thoughts.
If it’s not in game it can be changed. Also why orb representing Zaithan is still moving than?
