I just feel bad for those who were on Kaineng through this whole business. They win the transfer lottery, wreck WvW for so many servers on the slow crawl to the top; only to have their fickle Ace-In-The-Hole pack up yet again, after free transfers had ended.

A cautionary tale for those who are thinking about transferring. Transfer to a place you fit; not for a position, rank, or the myth that higher tier = better play.

Mag found our princess in hills on KBL. But it was defended by many turtles. Saiyr died in the engagement and was commemorated with a tombstone.

We then proceeded to move the princess. You will not find her. Mag took bay several times, but by now you guys should know the princess is in another castle.

Not on a meaningful scale, or similar stat allocations. I can’t replicate the stats on my engineer in Spvp, nor can I use food buffs, etc.

I interprete that as you do not have access to ascended gear and lvl 80 food buffs which means you will not have the extra advantage of a few hundred stat points over your opponents. you will be exactly the same as your opponent and hence why it is fair and best way to gauge skill.

Clearly you have never sPvP’d or you would not interpret it that way.

Yeah, T2 is already too much for our coverage. I just wish YB had a more consistent coverage throughout the week. It would definitely make the scores closer, and they’re already pretty close. T3 is more balanced in purely a score sense than it has been in a long time.

Felt like you guys had a lot too. Well, definitely felt like you queued our BL.

We had a pretty good turnout on your BL. There honestly wasn’t a queue, at least after the first hour or so. It was a lot of fun though. We had some pretty good fights at Hills. You guys deserved to hold it after the resistance you put up. My question is where was Kain? Assaults on a servers home borderland work much better when both the opposing servers show up.

Yeah, I know it faded quickly, but I feel like there must have been a queue…skill lag with only two servers present? Both of us must have been close to it. Sorta wish there were less on both sides so it could have been a little less of a slideshow for me…that’s what I get for leaving my character limit setting on medium, I guess. Not sure why Kaineng went to your BL over ours. The few that came here decided to just hold down SW tower and it took us quite awhile to take it back for a meaningful period of time, since they put up a lot of siege and we had our attention in many places at once.

Well just a suggestion, but waiting until the weekend is almost over is probably a bad idea, since YB’s population drops off heavily during the week. Then again, we do have an extra day in this weekend. But you should probably maximize the time you’re allied with them, otherwise it’s basically just 1v1 anyway!

When did we lose YB garrison? I went to bed around 4:00 AM and we still had it.

Pretty soon after, we were already stretched thin on commanders/people. We held on to WK a fair bit longer since Rekka and Kharnna were there. I think Maguuma decided to go to bed earlier this reset. Surprised we still have waypoints, since there were like 6 people on my friends list when I went to sleep, and 2 of them weren’t even on this server.

Apparently, the devs are absolutely riveted with Kaineng’s evolution and decided to pair us with rank 1 and rank 3 servers in next week’s matchup.

Although it’s an ego boost to all Kaineng WvWers that we are deemed good enough for T1 ( sorry bears, no honey for u ) , it might be too soon for our re-established forces.

Commanders need to get together to discuss their thoughts on how to go through next week.

(a) Should we have a break week to revitalise and ignore a super-unbalanced matchup ?

(b) Should we just run academy / training sessions in our citadel and ignore all scores ?

© Grit our teeth and go for numerous 4 hour battles and hopeful learn more tactics but come out sore and tired ?

(d) Sell our services as mercenary forces to either the rank 1 or rank 3 to fill up our server war fund ?

The new matchups will eradicate the meaning of Tiers and matchups will depend on server score plus deviation. The new way to measure success in WvW will be server ranking which is still based on score. After next week matchup, Kaineng’s score will probably decrease which will drop us in server ranking ( Kaineng is 8th now) but I am not sure how deviation will go. Kaineng has an abnormally high deviation due to guilds transferring away a month ago, which means old ghosts coming back to haunt us again. We are in for interesting times folks.

P.S. This potential matchup might change with results from this week but Kaineng’s deviation score is so abnormal we are probably gonna be dumped with 2 other high ranked servers.

Wow Sol, I was wrong about you. This is a very thought-provoking post. I think you are right, Kaineng should be very proud that they have been chosen to fight the mighty server that is Sanctum of Rall. T8 population and T2 skill? More like T8 population, T0 skill! I had to invent a new tier above 1 to indicate how much skill you guys have demonstrated in the past week. IMHO, this is a matter best discussed on your server forum. But since you put it out there, I think (d) is a very good option. Wars are expensive, after all. Best of luck with your mercenary days, should you choose to hire yourself! Any server would be fortunate to be able to hire skilled T0 mercenaries such as yourself.

Yeah, but I spent most of my badges on gearing up all of my alts. Ascended is gonna be like 300000000000000 badges and 29/34 laurels prolly so I’m not betting on it. And it excludes backpieces.

Reactions like that are the sole reason why I made a mesmer… though that wasn’t me, I’m not near legend I don’t think. And I don’t play my mesmer anymore.

I don’t mind other dungeons but fractals make me rage-y. Sorry we’re being so boring too. ;( I’ve only been doing 2 or so hrs a night in wuvwuv. Then I’m all like, I think farming Orr sounds better.

I am okay with some of the fractal levels. I get more annoyed at them when I’m more tired, though. It’s more the end of the match that makes me less motivated to play than anything. I’m sure I could have gone to EBG to get fights, but meh. Lookin forward to reset. Our last one before Kaineng goes off to fight JQ, the T1 match they always dreamed of~ Also if you can farm Orr for any significant amount of time, you already have a lot more patience than me…I can last ~5-10min.
