So yes, I am content with what I have. I get a little bit of everything. But I like fighting big blobs of people, especially when outnumbered, which I guess is one big point where we differ.

I’m going to have to confess that I’m not on that level. I’ve heard there was actually once a 5 man group that could beat any other 5 man group while eating pizza rolls with one hand, scratching their balls with the other, while driving their characters by slapping their keyboards with their kitten… but I’m pretty sure that is just a legend.

To take your experiences from one week and extrapolate that to conclude that all players from lower tiers are bad isn’t very smart.
We ran across plenty of bad players on Maguuma but we never extrapolated that to conclude that all players from Maguuma were bad. In fact, the rank and file PUG group on Maguuma was much much better than what Kaineng had but they made it to a higher tier than Maguuma. How do you explain that?

Thats because, 80% of what you want you are more than likely getting out of gw2 at the moment. And that is NOT mainly fighting small groups. Otherwise EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER would have been told, read, or just moved to t3 already. Yes, Tsarazi also has some movies of beating a small guild group from SBI and some clips against CD, I believe. But, those are higher tier. How did that happen? Some servers have better roamers than others and that has to do more with what guilds are on that server than what tier that server is in.
What tier you are in is irrelevant to individual player skill whether it be high, mid, or low tier. Just like not everyone in upper tiers runs around in huge zergs and not everyone in lower tiers is running in small groups.
I think the problem that some in lower tiers had with this post is him saying the real “hardcore” players should be in the upper tiers doing 60v60. To me a hardcore player is someone who puts their reputation and name on the line by running in a small group fighting other small groups. That is my definition of hardcore when it comes to this game.
Running inside the anonymity of a huge zerg is not hardcore. Just the way I see it.

I doubt it was on purpose because it’s insanely easy to glitch through that gate on accident, especially for a greatsword guardian. But I wasn’t there, so I dunno.

It costs more to transfer one group people from all of our guilds than for you to transfer yours, so it’s more logical for you to come up to T3 to test your mettle. And since you can make the gold in a week, you can’t use that as an excuse, right? Besides, AoN can handle the higher tier zerg levels, why can’t you?

What’s great about all you 10+ runners all say the same things about “havoc groups” in higher tiers, that their use is “cutting supplies, killing dolyaks, cutting off back lines”…. How come none of you understand when our 5 guys leave the spawn 100% of our goal is to only kill red? It’s so hard for you Zergers to realize points D O N O T MA T T E R and we simply play to kill people? And when a group of 8-20 dies to 5 guys is a joke and shouldn’t happen but happens everyday?

Why are we getting into KN populations/coverage? I’ve been down this circular road in T8 and all it ends up looking like is overly dramatic martyrdom and excuses on our side when brought to a public forum. I was in sPvP last night so I was expecting good Wuvwuv stories this morning and instead got dead horse talk about KN coverage.

We didn’t lose ppl. We just have very few Europeon players. That’s by far our weakest time zone. In the weekends we can play overtime to cover it. But in the weekdays everyone got work and school so we lost everything to pvdoor. That’s costing us a lot of points. >_>
No worries though. The fights are fun and that’s good enough for me.
That’s pretty much the definition of losing people, isn’t it? Your NA prime time isn’t as strong as it is on the weekends. Work and school aren’t really a complete story for that, it’s not as if we don’t all have similar situations.
When we do have people we always wins. That’s all we care about at this point. That final score has much more to do with our lack European coverage, which is out of our control so why worry? We cannot worry about the people that we don’t have.

I have played in Tiers 1 through 5 during my time in GW2. while I only have around 2000 hrs played, the vast majority of my time is played in WvWvW.
As a previous MERC, I saw a variety of large scale battles and learned a number of different tactics. It was a lot of fun. I still am involved in full map force vs map force battles, just not ever day now and the total numbers are usually lower.
IMHO, there is very little individual skill lvl difference between tiers. IMHO, Large scale tactics can be learned very quickly and IMHO, 1-2 leaders can make all the difference in battles.
IMHO, the enjoyment factor is personal and I am enjoying T4 as much as I enjoyed T1.
I think you should have used IMHO a few more times.
1) One common misconception I read here is that players in higher tiers are less skilled than players from lower tiers. Now this might be true on a personal basis. However in terms of teamwork, organization and tactics, it is much better in higher tiers.
Here is a video to demonstrate. Our 20 men zerg wiped a much bigger 60 men enemy zerg.
One of the most intense fights I’ve ever had over a supply camp, unedited. Unfortunately I didn’t think it would be that interesting, so I only started recording a few minutes in. Actually, I think most of our intense fights were over supply camps on reset night. Probably want to watch this on 1.5x or something if you’re interested, hope the Kaineng involved had fun

In summation, the purpose for this whole section is to say that those of you who are die hard Borderlands veterans shouldnt bash on part of your own community of players, were all a team and sometimes we pick up the slack for you.
If only there was a way to privately talk to the only person (your guildmate) that actually bashed EBG in this thread.

Mag has been carting up outside Ogrewatch and inside Pang every morning on EBG during the late nights/early mornings on the weekdays since the patch. Every server is doing it and will most likely continue to do so if ACs remain in their current state. There aren’t any white knights leaving their arrow carts at home in this matchup.
Sieging up Pangloss is different and we’ve done that since the launch of GW2. Chokepoints make it an easily defended camp with or without the buff. Sad that we’re creeping siege outside of Ogrewatch though.
Mags, if you want open field come EB. Last night you guys were the ones turtling with arrow carts all night even though your zerg was scary as hell. Dont blame Kain BL and Mag BL for not fighting, their priority is to hold what they can with what numbers they have and they did a great job.
FBA you guys are heroes giving Mag such a hard time last night, big props! Also everyone defending KainBL, I cant believe you held onto our towers so well. Sick job!

We did go to EBG briefly to recap some lost territory, but we don’t like EBG for various reasons as mentioned in the previous thread.

During the reset in MGBL we stayed with your Hills for 8 hours straight…AND we used no more than 10 AC, 2 Cats, a Treb and people willing to die (if you think 10AC is a lot to defend a whole keep, go back to Age of Empires, where u can storm a castle with archers…).
Ohh, yeah, we called reinforcements (we are a team after all) when you came with your Omega Golems, 3 Trebs and a 40+ zerg against 15+ defenders in hills…it was marvelous to see u jumping from the cliff not to get wiped:

Mag has a different perspective to this than you i guess. Our borderland is our number 1 priority.
Eternal is filled with people who are not on our community mumble for different reasons and usually dont read chat. all they do is follow the icon and provide bodies.
when u are incapable to fill a map with a coordinated group because of queue, you leave it to its own fate and put your effort elsewhere.
We dont simply give it up but instead of concentrating enough force to hold SM, we would send more ppl to opposing BL instead.
The EB channel in the community mumble nearly always has the largest amount of users in the channel.

That’s a pretty recent development and only through the concerted effort from a few people. Though most of the time the largest channel I see is the karma train channel…
Either way, for better or for worse, a lot of guilds don’t like EBG, but most of the time it still does fine. Dunno why we’re arguing about this. And a lot of us have noticed queues in the past few weeks in NA prime time, so getting guild groups is hard. And since it’s also the default map for many pubbies to go to, it’s better to allocate numbers to other maps. We often have problems overcommitting numbers as it is.
