Despite having the biggest NA presence, Mags were hardly in lead during NA prime time until Tuesday when DB eased up a bit, victory within the tier assured.

Says a lot about the skill (or lack, thereof) of the elite Mag NA zerg

The 80+ mag zerg wednesday at 1am EST in EB lol. DB is lucky to ever get that many people in the same BL during prime time, let alone all in one place during NA prime.

Actually, despite that, EBG is probably our weakest map by far. Maybe that’s why you guys are saying we are bad at utilizing our numbers. Most of the people from Maguuma posting on this thread don’t like going to EBG anymore. It seems to queue every evening, which in theory is good, except no coordinated guilds seem to be able to get in and do a good job with it.

While my guild does this, but I don’t think we are what you are looking for. I recommend AoN from FA though, I have seen them wipe 30-40 man zergs with a 5 man before. If you are worried T2 doesn’t have smaller groups, don’t worry there are a ton of roaming and havoc squad groups in this tier. I’m not sure if AoN is still recruiting though.

Yeah, I think you’re missing the history here that AoN and OG never got along and Mike was pretty vocal in that argument. Look at his post history.

It’s okay, guys! As the newly titled “Best Guild of DB” (-Commander Paralda – Leader of [PYRO]), [TG] will be more than happy to balance out the PvF with the occasional joking WvW raids in-game. Yesterday, in Mag BL, we fought [PYRO] and [D|ERP] with a new guild [rB]. After awhile, we had enough members to go about and do our own thing. Then we placed down rams on the bridge south of Hills. Fun battles there, [PYRO]. Unfortunately, because I’m EST, I had to leave shortly after that. So I hope more fun was had with you guys.

Sadly, I only saw you guys shortly. We came back from YB to reinforce at SE tower and left immediately. Dunno if you saw our groups earlier, cuz I was at work then. That one fight I was there for was kinda crappy on our part since we were still streaming in and then Paralda jumped out of the tower and rushed in, so we felt like we had to reinforce without being ready.

Anyway, we should have a fight club at DB windmill today.

We’re not actually ranting or mocking them…it’s mostly just you guys persisting in talking about it.

We bow, we just like to utilize the windmill space for more fights. It can definitely handle more than one. /point @ for initiating fights works fine, coupled with a few people in each server in a party to handle the rest.

We like non-single-file fight clubs, does that count as fun?

Yeah, and we were already seeing some side effects from people transferring to our server at the time. Those weeks were pretty annoying, with newcomers demanding we capture certain points so they could get world completion, stealing golems to walk them over to their needed POIs, generally being obnoxious, and so on. There was also the sentiment at the time that Maguuma belonged in T4 and we did not want to move higher (a feeling that no longer exists). The feelings definitely weren’t absolutely global, but it wasn’t really just a small vocal minority.

Ok then? My guild transferred from YB to Mag well over 3 months ago, and we’ve never looked back. The one thing that can be said about Mag, if nothing else, is that we have a great community.

Our volatility could probably be attributed most strongly to the bipolar nature of our pugs and randoms. We drop down and all of a sudden the randoms want to karma train through EB and the BLs. Then we go back up to Tier 3 and they disappear because none of them put in the effort to learn WvW strategy and gameplay.

Pretty sure the entire purpose of that thread was to convince people to not transfer to Maguuma so they wouldn’t ruin the community and force Mag up to a tier it didn’t belong in. So, I guess it’s negative if you’re not adept at sarcasm. Maybe you’re not? I don’t know.

@Dragonbrand SEA crew (NNK, TFV, etc…) I can’t help but wonder how you will even handle tier 2 when you reach there. I have witnessed on several nights, or rather SEA prime time, that you attack Maguuma or Yaks Bend and if the defence is a slightly good from one of those servers you kitten off and move to the other BL and try take that BL and then return to the previous BL when more people are asleep. I’m not complaining about pvdoor because I know that’s just how it is. But your SEA crew always give up attacking a BL if there is defence, in tier 2 I doubt you will face no resistance, as a matter of fact I wouldn’t be surprised if TC matches your numbers during SEA, but if you can’t even slug it out and take a BL while there is some resistance then how in the kitten will you ever take anything in tier 2?

I guess you haven’t really faced a challenge during SEA prime time for a while, other than Kaineng when they rose the ranks but Kaineng destroyed your asian crew. I really hope your SEA crew learn to face resistance sooner rather than later, because quite frankly many people from Maguuma and Yaks Bend find it hilarious how shallow your SEA crew is. This may sound harsh but I’m merely stating a fact that your asian crew really hasn’t had any challenges in the last 3-4 months and so I guess they haven’t had to improve.

During the weeks with kaineng our SEA team pulled 400+PPT. IDK what you mean when you say they weren’t tested or challenged, and they certainly weren’t destroyed. Maybe they didnt turn all the maps our color entirely, but this is pretty impressive I think. Dont be a whiner. It reflects poorly on you and your server.

Yeah, this match has been fun so far, screw points. Friday night was an awesome fight against YB for our west keep back (trying to taking east keep back was less awesome on our part). Saturday…don’t even remember Saturday. But guild raid on YB yesterday was really fun because we had other commanders doing stuff on the map too which let us stay mostly as a guild group the entire time. Also that TG guy that was randomly jumping along with us outside YB’s west keep by the water is awesome, I hope nobody killed you

I watched the whole thing while in the tower outside the DB spawn after you took it* :P I watched that whole battle in front of the tower from on top of the rock and was cheering you all on. Without culling that was truly something to see. You guys have some phenomenal movement as a group. That was also some solid flanking you did too after you pulled back to regroup.

I don’t remember any of that, unfortunately I only looked and jumped at him for a few seconds and my memory of such things is bad. Someone may have caught it on video, but I haven’t seen any of it yet.

First I should point out that I am a defensive commander and since the last patch and the new points system there has been little point in upgrding and or defending points, The zerg rules the map and whoever has the numbers wins.

The new WXP has crushed the will of a lot of defenders even more than before, when it was already hard to get people to do to that, because of the lack of rewards and patience required. This plays in hugely to scores each following day after reset, which is why chest beating for ppt makes no sense when people can’t understand what a huge advantage it is for them to have fortified structures to hold to every day vs ones that can be taken in minutes and have to be rebuilt up by morning crews every single day preventing Mag and YB from actually launching offensives.

Essentially the scores during the weekdays are not level playing field scores and mean little, as most are just playing to find some good fights while they are on.

It’s why you get situations like the one mentioned on the other page about the 4 hour fight for Mag BL Bay, and losing home BL objectives as that battle went on. It’s hard to get everyone to care to rush back and defend something that is not upgraded, and won’t stay upgraded past early am hours, when you are having fun where you are at.

You get lots of rewards from defending in the form of WXP from farming zergs. A few juicy ones and you’ve basically gotten the same WXP as from capturing a keep. Seems to me the situation you mentioned is something different, because if they fought for our west keep for four hours, that’s four hours of no offense WXP, meaning you may as well have defended instead.

He’s been trying to pick fights with all of us, it’s pretty silly. Wee cherrypick a sentence from a post explaining that we’re actually having fun and using it to get super mad? :s

I guess it sucks to know that when DB guilds NA and SEA put their game face on…you guys can’t compete in any timezone, including reset or N/A primetime..but seriously great job this weekend..

Lolwut, reset was back and forth. YB had the lead 1 hour in and we had it again 5 hours in. There was no clear leader throughout.

DB NA gets the table set for them every morning, full upgrades and paper on opponents BL and still usually lose NA.

A few big DB NA guilds don’t play on reset. Also, we took the lead about 2hours in on reset night and have been pulling ahead ever since.

Don’t really understand how people can say the DB NA is lackluster when we’ve held our towers and keeps better than both Yak’s and Mag on NA prime time.

I mean, if Mag and Yaks have a bigger, better, badder NA, then why are we constantly taking their stuff towers, beating their zergs and preventing them from taking our towers every evening when the Oceanic guilds aren’t on..hmm

Technically, Mag is the only server with extreme NA prime population on this matchup, since a considerable amount of WvW players at YB are South Americans and they go to sleep several hours before NA, even on reset. In fact, guilds like [CL] can only play reset for 3 hours or so before their oficial raids ends, after that, their numbers drops and they just become pugs.

The question is not if DB’s NA is lackluster or not, the question is why Mag can’t just paint the whole maps of their color since they have twice the numbers of YB and DB after 3 or 4 hours of the reset and during the same time frame the whole week.

Eh, to call our NA population “extreme” is a exaggerated if referring to size. And CL is mostly in Chile, are they not? Their time zones are not dissimilar to NA…their mainland is only one hour ahead of east. DB’s NA population is highly variable depending on guild raids. We definitely do not have the population to control four maps at any time during NA prime. I do feel like we were already in the “fight for second” mode during reset, which is partly why DB already has a substantial lead. So maybe now you understand why you won so easily in T4 when playing us and Ehmry Bay

Yeah, EA held our east keep for a long time last night, pretty much impervious to our attempts aside from a golem rush that got us through outer only to run around like headless chickens on the inner. I dunno how long they held it or if they handed it off to another guild, but they held it for a long time. I think the only point of pride is that they didn’t hold it as long against us as against YB?

Yep, that’s what was happening on our BL. We couldn’t take the time to clear you guys or they’d just push up.
