In all honesty though, ArenaNet should at least warn him, if not ban him. The game is not a Chat room or a dating website. To some people it might be a joke, but to others it’s truly perverse the way he speaks if you are unfortunate enough to have had a whisper from him.

(*Edit – and I’m not even a woman!)

i think it is against the code of conduct, but yes people are here to have some fun but not being subjected to sexual harassment.

gw2 is very good mmo and can remain one of the best mmos out there and remain among top mmos for years to come.
but it really need some IMPROVEMENT:
like—- AI improvement including rangers pet
like—improving dungeon paths , for god sake in an MULTI player game dungeon must not be solo able. the end game of an mmo is all about playing together or there are ton of single player games out there. and people who solo it are not some super skilled people. its all about skipping and standing in safe place thanks to design flows even stacking as group make more sense than that.
like—LS can replace traditional expansion with more permanent content and improved quality of content. not do able on day one with many plot hole/lose ends like scarlet story had.
like—improving rewards for events and activities

The thing I like about this game is, the game gives you a choice whether to solo or team up. I’m all for the solo content.

the game is not giving you choose to solo, the reason you can do it, is because of design flows and low AI of the enemies.
have you ever soloed any path? if you did not then do it and you will realize why you can do it.

Nice job Anet!!!!

I agree with you on the first one, but you totally lost me on the next two. How do you think people will feel if anet was to say no more playing the trading post or making gold on the tp? That means you cant sell anything, which defeats the purpose of the trading post, and the second one yes there are people who exploit but there are lot who don’t and it wouldn’t be fair at all to people who want a challenge and to solo dungeons, just because you can’t solo a dungeon or don’t have the time to do it doesn’t mean that everyone else should be forced to not have the option to solo.

you do realize the mmo stand for massively MULTI PLAYER online game. that being said i have nothing against solo eve in mmo as long as it is not exploit like path selling.
stopping people with 7 accounts to cause inflation will destroy the tp? ehhh what?

3 big economy problems

3 big problems:

1:: events and activities have low reward, like the new event is basically worthless to do even with gold reward which has 10 chest which you can get easily through dungeons or champ farm which is much less frustrating and time consuming. people mostly doing it for AP rather than reward. add this to brain dead champ farming which is even more rewarding than most of thing i know in the game including pvp and wvw, if i want to farm gold for my legendary well we all know different ways none including activities and events, the only acceptable reward is dungeons at least because you are playing the game and getting daily reward, rest in my opinion is just not acceptable, again too high or too low.

2:: TP players, i have seen you tube videos on somebody who has 7 accounts but all he does is to play TP rather than playing the game, yes that is true ,7 accounts and he is not playing the game and he and his kind are richest people in game, owning the games economy.

3:: path seller which is a obvious exploit and totally against concept of mmo, which is playing together, i have seen/known people making up to 100g a day out of path selling. this needs to be stopped particularly in this game.i have seen raid sellers in other games but it is way less in size and effect on general economy of the game and at the end you have to find a guild and do raiding, you can get away with buying for small part only and for few pieces of gear but if you want to have high end gear and achievements and cool mounts etc you better join a guild unlike this game people get dungeon master achievement by buying arah p4 and if you ask them how did you beat simin, they are like wtf is simin? as result those path sellers getting richer. unique to gw2 only in my opinion.

there could be more of such things that i do not know of. but these thing are not good for any games and promotes grinding game play.

IMPORTANT NOTE: be civilized and whether you are agree with me or not just keep it friendly please.

You don’t try to control the adds that spawn while you damage the champ?

isnt the best way to control the adds is to wipe them out with damage, damage and damage?

yeh, this game was definitely made for you.

I understand the OP’s question but GW2 isn’t about tactics and builds. It’s about going out with a bunch of people and killing kitten. If that’s too shallow for you, then I suggest you think about why you are playing this game.

I play it once or twice a year for a week or two at most. Anything more seems a waste of time, but that’s everybody’s choice. Personally I’m just not a big fan of this silly event driven hack and slash MMO.

well you at least understand that this game is not for you, but why are coming on the forum and whining?
there are a lot of games out there that i do not like but i wont go on their forum and whine.
you are new kind of forum whiners who do not even play the game but still complain on it. great this game needed your kind too in addition of other whiners.

saye.9304

please report this person calyx.9086 he deserve a ban.
people like him are the reason this game must avoid elitism and never give them tools to make things easier for them to be rude toward others.

Actually the worst aspect of this community is the insanely self entitled crowd who hide behind a warped version of the “play how I want” mantra and go around crying about “elitists” all the time.

People wanting to group with other efficient players is not bad, wrong or damaging for the community. The people who expect to be able to walk into any party with their PVT staff cleric etc regardless as to what the other people in said party want, or those people who carry zerk gear, ping it and then use something else. They are the people who stink up the place quite frankly.

“Play how I want” does not mean that you have a god given right to walk into other peoples groups. Nor does it mean that people should not have access to helpful tools simply because you don’t specifically want to use them.

The correlation between a dps meter and how “rude” the games community is, is also being vastly overstated.

i always make my group and ask for experienced players if we get not experienced player usually rest of group kick him before me. but i never disrespect them i usually tell them why they are being kicked so if they are new players they will learn how to play or what to do.
again you are another prove that this game must stay away from elitism, telling those guys they stink up the place and some other things rather than helping them and just simply kick them.
there are ton of games out there offering elitism with tools like dps meter. you are welcome to go there. just do not come here and whine about similar stuff in a game that particularly advertised as non traditional mmo. what you are doing is pathetic.

i have not seen any game that gives 24/7 endless champ grind(which is still exist in the game like eotm and frostgorge) so you can make lot of gold and buy everything you want without spend a single euro on the game and guess what get multiple legendary weapons which last forever. in all other TRIPLE A mmo i have played and playing, there is limit to grind(dungeon, raid, daily and weekly etc) for high end gear of current tier of the game and some of the stuff can be gained only through cash shop with real money.
and people are still whining here, we want more.

look all your points are pointless really. you know why? because in a game that advertised as not grindy but became a grind heaven, the end less brain less champ farming. i have not seen any triple A mmo offers endless 24/7 grind(limited daily, weekly grind like dungeon, raids etc) . you still have EOTM champ grind pluse frost gorge sound one, people make a lot of gold by farming like 6+ hours a day and level toon to 80 in 3-4 hours using crafting never seen such thing in any one of those triple A mmos this is unique to gw2 and you also got pvp now days to level your toon or alt and make gold at same time. so you are whining on this part.
as for new players, for god sake let them get out there and enjoy the world and get their world completion there is way too many farm fest in this game already.

the problem is reward:
when it was basically zerging it was very rewarding for just spamming #1 with not much of effort.
now that its require much more team work and co-ordination and skill, it is way less rewarding.

GW2 and Other MMOs - Differences in Content

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: saye.9304

saye.9304

Okay so im hoping this topic will encourage some talk regarding the content GW2 has released post-launch as well as answering a question that has been on my mind for a while. Try to keep this constructive please! The more level headed we keep this thread, the more chance ANET have of taking note of it.

So it has been mentioned many, MANY times on the forums that a great number of GW2 players are disillusioned at the state of the game post-launch. Specifically mentioned has been the lack of content released. I will state now that I do not feel this is the case, having witnessed a lot of living story content both permanent and not. The issue here is that I do not have any guide to go by. I have never played another ‘AAA MMO’, instead focusing on smaller (more grindy) Korean titles.

So my question to you is this- In your personal opinion, when directly compared to other MMOs, what is GW2 doing wrong and how would you rectify this?

let give some examples in 2014:
RIFT: released 2 new tier of raiding pluse new souls and pvp maps and also in 2014 the expansion # 2 will be out.
FFX 14 RR: just released last year and it is less than year old but already got over 2 million subscribers and released good amount of content in its 10 months of release
WORLD OF WARCRAFT: well the WOD which is the expansion will come late 2014. which is normal for wow they dont release much of content in between but that is how wow always was and still king of the hill.
SWTOR: released the star fighter mini expansion in 2014 and they also announced the mini expansion with player housing (this mini expansion is going to be bigger that is why it delayed it seems) and in between thing like patch 2.8 is coming.
THE SECRET WORLD: well the similar mmo to gw2 in terms of content release is tsw they had small events like living story so far i do not know what is coming in the future just like gw2 lol.
these are the top AAA mmos in the western market as of today.

NcSoft recently published the result for the first quarter of 2014.

http://global.ncsoft.com/global/ir/prfile.aspx?ID=AF748C58-8D61-47E2-9B51-05A3D34FAF20

http://cast.calltogether.co.kr/ncsoft/2014_1Q/index.html (stream)

  • GW2 sales 17.8 M €
  • -31% YTY, -25% QTQ (in Korean Won)
  • sales maintained healthy level after elimination of the special effect of 4Q 13
  • about expansion: Arenabet is focused on the release in China and the time after it. In EU/NA the focus currently lies on the live service (could mean LW season 2 and more) They will talk more about the topic later on when everything (China and things in NA/EU) is completed. (my guess would be Christmas time 2014.)
  • Launch in China was successful: good feedback and positive atmosphere
  • In general NcSoft follows the strategy of diversification in regards to games to maintain steady revenues. Expansions are one element within this strategy.

if they are going to announce the expansion on christmas 2014 this is gonna be the first so called triple A mmo without expansion after 28 months and who knows when the expansion actually hit, it could go over 28 months. i think this is very bad for business unless they release good amount of content during LS2. if LS2 is going to be like ls1 which was not received very well by players you will see more lost in income than Q1 2014.
for now gw2 is still doing fine.

Wheres New Content?? (State of the Game) [merged]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

saye.9304

The developers are heads-down working on the future content releases. We are also in the middle of launching the game in China. Launching a game in a new country is kind of a big deal. Because of the team’s focus on game development, they are not able to dedicate as much time out of their workday to posting on the forums. While they might have time to read the forums, they don’t necessarily have time to engage in discussion.

I know it’s hard to be patient in this down time between Living World seasons, but please bear with us. As much as you’re craving new content to play, the team is dying for you to play it.

Unfortunately, I can’t give you any information about future content, whether it’s plot spoilers or timeline. I can say that, as a player, I am very excited about the next season, and I cannot wait to see what you all think about it.

Please know that your feedback continues to be important, our devs are still reading (though they may not have time to respond), and we sincerely appreciate your support and you sharing all your thoughts with us (critical or otherwise).

Yes, but you were all excited about Season 1, and we all know how that turned out. Why has Anet seemingly decided that chasing potential players in China is worth turning off your current players by essentially going silent in terms of non customer service related posts? Your players are dying for information, and coming here, and saying, YET AGAIN (this was a constant theme in season 1), that you can’t tell us anything, but it’s going to be super awesome, doesn’t help. We feel like we’re talking into a black hole, and the company just doesn’t care about it’s current fanbase, because it seems millions of players in china. What are you going to do to counteract this feeling?

The one thing I don’t think you understand is that China is almost 100% PC gaming. Only a few months ago was a law banning console games just lifted after being in effect for 15 years. Chinese gamers have had nothing but PC games.

China is a bigger PC market than the US AND Korea, so yes, to sell GW2 in China is like a MASSIVE gold mine.

Again I emphasize they should have two separate teams, not one.

First of all. They DO have more than one team. The teams responsible for CREATING content are working already on the next releases, it’s well known and proven that their releases are being developed long before they are actually released.

For example, they have 4 teams working on the Living Story, those teams neither wait for the China release to make their content, nor they focus on China for whatever reason.

The reason they are not releasing content/patches is because the China release has the same features as the NA/EU version. How do you suppose they keep both synched while at the same releasing new content for the NA/EU every 2 weeks?

It’s not possible. Also, the LS ending is a perfect opportunity to release the China version. Just imagine what would happen if they released the China version while some LS was still active, it would be very confusing.

one of the reasons they wont release LS2 before china is because of the spoilers, if we are ahead then china players already know whats coming, particularly if they want to make it mysterious with lore and story like scarlet story.
that being said. almost most of people here asking for state of the game announcement which is about major future plans, it also good for china to know whats coming in 2014 on top of the original game they are getting it might even boost selling both in china and na/eu if the stuffs are good.
its the silence that people are angry about. many are not even asking for content now. again its not about content its about information like any other mmos out there.

Active challenges in GW2 and in Wildstar

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: saye.9304

saye.9304

In Wildstar closed beta, was sailing through the lowbie zone doing quests (humorous artwork, some humor in the quests themselves bringing back memories of WoW at first release) when I found myself in combat with a mob with 20x the hp of those around it. Did not adapt quickly and it wiped the floor with me.

Assumed this was like the elites which wander a few of the lowbie zones in WoW classic, an intelligence test for awareness of what’s around you and avoiding elites.

Then, as I became more accustomed to Wildstar combat, I was able to solo one of those mobs. That’s when it hit me: Wildstar, like GW2, is very much about individual skill, evasive movement, knowing one’s toolbox and using it creatively. And that Wildstar has outdone GW2 in this space.

GW2, in turn, is trying to bring in these annoying large drill-team encounters, reminiscent of WoW and RIFT raiding, but using the (surprisingly limited) capacity of a zone rather than an instanced-raid-size cap. I think this is a fundamental blunder on Anet’s part, because it’s trying to bring in a playstyle that fits the gear-centric WoW/RIFT game fundamentals, rather than the player-skill-centric GW2 fundamentals. At least Anet didn’t import the guild/social-fabric shredding aspects of WoW and RIFT raiding, although Tournament is doing exactly that between GW2’s worlds.

Back to the point at hand: GW2 has an awesomely better world, and far more beautiful artwork, than Wildstar will ever have. If GW2 evolved bringing more solo or small scale player skill challenges, and evolved making spec and gear choices richer rather than “simplifying them for the Asian market” as RIFT did, it would play to GW2’s strengths and provide content for the higher skill players… particularly if the rewards were commensurate.

totally agree with you mate, gw2 can remain one of the best mmos around with solid population and financially successful for years to come if they stay faithful to what they promised and to their manifesto and also listen to players and fix/change some of stuff and improve their communication with players. their silence right now on state of the game is stepping toward wrong direction i hope they realize and get back on track.

Active challenges in GW2 and in Wildstar

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: saye.9304

saye.9304

GW2 is different than Wildstar, because GW2 is an ultra-casual, “everyone wins” sort of game. Hence, why nothing is instanced and blob play is so rewarded. No one gets their feelings hurt and no ones performance is scrutinized in a blob.

It’s why this community is so against things like duels and damage meters.

It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it’s not for me.

Implementing some difficult content isn’t really affecting the ordinary casual player(?) no more than high level fractals currently are. Why not add content that provides a good active challenge for the portion of the playerbase that wants it (or longs for it)?

I can’t recall hearing anyone say that adding difficult content would be bad for the game =)

In theory it doesn’t impact the other players, but normally the higher skilled players don’t feel rewarded by this kind of content unless they are given gear/abilities that separate them statistically (not just aesthetically) from other, lower skilled players — they will say “there is no reason to do that, I don’t like just aesthetic rewards, we should have the best gear because we have the most skills” and so on. To a very limited degree this was done with Ascended gear, but it was pretty limited in terms of the impact. And of course it created a storm when they did it (eventually that passed). In theory they could do something like that again, but I think they are reluctant to create another tier of gear beyond Ascended at this point.

So, yes they could create this kind of content and have aesthetic rewards — but I don’t think that aesthetic rewards are generally very satisfying to the kinds of players that you would be trying to reach with that content to begin with.

thanks god that this game favor casuals over hard cores,i hate elitism, remind of a game called rift, they have time to raid 4-5 nights a week and spending 5-6 hours at least on raiding and when they were in those bis gear they were like look at us we are so awesome" cough lifeless nerds cough" . eventually rift became half dead game with low population of loyal fans and newbies messing around and leaving eventually because the game is free.
this game has solid population and well comes every one even hard cores can go after legendary weapon.

can it get better? yes much better if anet fix and change some of the stuff players are asking and improve their communication and interaction with their player base meaning no more silence and always keep us up to speed about major future plans for the game.
many triple A mmos already doing so and their players know whats coming.

in the games with hard core raiding as endgame the entire game designed around it, in open world you see some mobs that will challenge you basically to teach you to play skill fully and dungeons are designed to make you raid ready, and finally raids.
look at arah in gw2 most people prefer to buy arah tokens rather than going through it.
therefore you see seller almost 24/7 because of demand. it happens because the audience of this game mostly casuals players who do not like challenging stuff or you would see them doing arah rather than buying it.

saye.9304

I think 2 years is patience enough to let people complain on this without getting told to “have patience”.

This. I have played this game from headstart and since then the biggest complains I’ve seen:

  • WvW is unbalanced and uncompetitive
  • There is no GvG and absolutely no Guild tools (guild missions are very very basic)
  • In SPvP build matters more than skill: condibunk
  • PvE is stack and zerg, repetitive and has seen very few changes
  • There is no end-game except grinding for legendaries/ascended/cosmetic stuff

All of these complains are true and nothing has changed about it. We had enough patience.

#wvw became even more unbalanced when some servers lost population and some had their players migrated to higher tier severs thank to wvw season which has reward based on performance of the server, i think its better for anet to go with EOTM type of wvw which involves several servers joining against each other as red, blue, green
#yeah that is the irony since the game called guild wars and if your are member of 2 or more guilds eventually you will be asked to represent one for influence which is well very much one guild limitation, the fix will come in december 2014 as hinted by devs but that would be after 3 years even if it comes at all.
#spvp in this game is much more skill based than other games but yes it is not perfect.
#stacking and zerg. particularly after mega server the zerg content resulted in low fps and lag for some, basically i don not like zerg stuff but i am not against zerg content to a acceptable extent.but generally pve is either zerg on world boss or stack in dungeon just like many other mmos out there it will become repetitive and basically grind nothing new here.

  1. the only thing that keeps this game going is a reward, in other games you grind a lot to get BIS gear of current tier of the game and after few months when new tier hits, dejavo starts all over again. endless gear grind. legendary weapons are one of the best thing ANET added to this game very good job by anet on this one indeed.
ascended stuff was traditional gear grind and was not received well by players and cosmetic stuff well they are always fun and even i want more of it.

OMG stop complaining about content i would understand if you didn’t have anything new for 6 months. Let them launch the game in the new country first. If you don’t like it go and play other mmo’s that give you new content every year.

???

This game has nothing new for a major gaming group since release.
Believe it or not, there are people who play for a nice time, epic storys and adventures to be mastered. Getting connected to a self made hero and be part of a fantasy world.
These people love good storys, new continents to discover new storys to be told and lived.
People who doesn’t farm or grind a dungeon for special material.
People who doesn’t always wanna fight, who are not playing PvP.
Actually don’t grind at all to reach a special target like a legendary.

You create a character play 10 own story missions, change to Claw Island and go for Zaitan like every race else.
These people doesn’t find anything new since the release for 2 years now.
There is no new story or new contend
Are you really surprised these people are asking for new contend or leave ?

the lore and story is what motivate me to continue playing, i like gw2 story and lore but it moved forward slowly and it was predictable ,guess what end of ls1 was another elder dragon, people on lore forum expected that months before end of ls1 and it happened just as they predicted and some also got the dragon right lol.
that being said, i have all legendary weapon i want on my character(4). and ton of skins, dyes etc even from grinder point of view i did grind and got everything i want.
i do not want another slow moving LS 2 which we all already know its about elder dragon. it just cant motivate me to play this game any longer, i want expansion to expand personal story and lore of game much deeper than small LS.

i prefer kodan too, but that might happen if they add expansion toward north and obviously jormag. and we all know next elder dragon wont be jormag.
do not forget both norns and kondans escaped from their homeland and jormag maybe we get expansion like content as living story which involves taking back their homeland and unlocks kodan as playable race.
although at this rate anet adds content which is small and focused on one story specifically, it is gonna take some time so do not hold your breath on it lol.

there are successful sub based games like FINAL FANTASY XIV with over 2 million subscribers, why i am not there because i do not like the graphics and on top of all unholy trinity. but the game is pretty good over all for many people.
IT IS ALL ABOUT YOU. ask for better game and have will to pay for good game.

So you admit that quality content has no correlation to subscription fee?

why some of you reply to a post you did not read or did not understand. I SAID IT in my very first post that quality of content and support need a lot of improvement and if it takes sub fee for much better quality content i am willing to pay for better not for same game.

You even get a precursor if you spent enough money (For real).

isnt that alarming to you that there is VIP access in china for same game with same quality content and support and basically no improvement, i dont know about pay to win stuff you mentioned like getting precursor.
but i said this to people who can read and understand, i said: for much better content and support i am willing to pay sub fee while the VIP thing already happening in china for same thing .
do not forget gw2 is a ncsoft property so if china VIP is successful be sure you will get similar stuff here.

No, no. That argument doesn’t work. I never again want to hear “you don’t pay for it so shut up.” We DO pay for it. This game wouldn’t exist if people weren’t paying for it. We have every right to complain. And don’t use the “Well, if you don’t like it, don’t pay for it. And now that you’re not paying for it, shut up, because you’re not paying for it.” If I didn’t care, I would just stop playing. But I do care about the game. That’s why I come to the forums, and try to offer up constructive criticism, even if I fail at times. This game isn’t run by anet as a charity. They make a profit off of us, the players. If no one ever bought gems, how many updates do you think this game would get? Just one, to shut down the servers. (gw1 is cheaper to run, so it can exist in perpetuity). Players have the right, and the duty to bring up problems they have with the game. The devs don’t have to implement all of our suggestions, but they at least have to pretend like they’re listening, and right now, they don’t even give us that. What other company goes virtually silent after dropping a major feature patch?

i made joke by saying that, but wrote post against that logic and people who think that way they answered me like that. do u want to meet them here is my post.

Wheres New Content?? (State of the Game) [merged]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

saye.9304

no one is saying we want content now, we understand that it takes time particularly if you want to put quality and polish content which i am hoping for. the problem is lack of communication with player base properly. for example: rift players know that expansion #2 is coming late this year, same goes for wow and other games just check mmorpg.com or any other mmo related websites to see many of those games considering to be triple A are actually announcing state of the game specially if they are 20 months old already.
silence is like we have nothing worth mentioning for now, wait for us to put something together.
this how some replied to me when i brought this problem up in my post:
and you know what it has no sub fee so its all ok come back whenever there is content. play other games do not ask for quality content and proper support and communication because you are not paying sub fee understood.

  1. The State of the Game was a thing organized by GW2 Guru, so your complaints should go to them. It’s not like ArenaNet stopped making previews of new content and balancing.
  2. Which gamebreaking bugs are you talking about? Because if they’re not literally gamebreaking, bug fixing isn’t top priority.
  3. We just come off the end of Living Story with implications of a Dragon waking in Maguuma and you’re still complaining? They have said over and over again that Living Story might give them a way of implementing expansion-like content without actually having to sell expansion boxes.
  4. You can always ask, doesn’t mean you’ll receive. You might want an expansion, but there are entire communities (large guilds, sPvP, WvW) that want something other than an expansion pack.

on #1: state of the game is official explanation on what is future plans for the game. for example: rift announce patch 3.0 is a expansion number 2, no detail but people know it is coming, same goes for wow,and other games if u want to know whats going on in mmo world check mmorpg.com to understand what state of the game means.
on #2: let give you example of bugs happening right now, jungle wurm bugged , megadestroyer bugged and no one knows when they will be fixed. and because you have low standard you would say its ok not big deal, i know your kind already.
on #3: over and over again? only colin johanson said once that they are not sure how to introduce an expansion, it might be through traditional box, it might be through living story or even through gem store. would you link the source of that over and over again so all of us can see it too.
on # 4: oh really you already know what entire community want and it is not expansion then what they want??
you sound like fanboy with incorrect info. tell your stuff to people who do not know the game.

Personally I’ve spent twice the dollar amount of an average p2p game in Gem Store purchases (11 character slots, unlimited gather tools, etc.) over the past 18 months or so. As far as GW2 goes, the only thing that would make me happier about the game is if they turned back the clock prior to 4/15 with the Megazerger. At this point a 3 year old could be successful with the game. But that won’t happen.

With my guild of 500 from a year ago in GW2, about 1/2 stopped playing or moved on to other guilds, and at least 100 went to FF XIV, and the guild there has gained 200 more in game, there’s only 20 of us left in GW2. But I play both. FFXiv is much more challenging than GW2, the world is more realistic including Characters, their Dev’s /Producer Yoshi are constantly giving feedback to players (even tho FF XIV is releasing in China as well). Just being in game, there are many servers from which to choose so I can play with my EU friends during the day, and NA friends/guildmates at nite. Looking at the amount of players thruout the servers, I’d say SE is doing well. (Have many alts in different worlds.)

I don’t think making GW2 P2P is the answer to new content or improving the game. They’ve had good ideas, poorly implemented (i.e. LS 1).

the easiness of the game brought serious problem with it and that is exploits, just look at arah or ac lfg page there is almost a seller or 2 (at least) available 24/7, imo it destroys the very concept of an mmo which is playing together and makes the game a heaven for grinders.
but my point is i am not saying give sub fee to devs blindly, what i am saying is to ask them to work hard and fix all those issues but if it takes sub fee to make anet back to hard work again then i am willing to pay but i repeat only if part of this money goes to hard work and part of it taken as profit. not most of it as profit.

YOU ARE THE BOSS. anet and ncsoft are working for you, without you there wont be ncsoft or anet or gw2.
how to improve the game and get anet back to working hard? first: BY ASKING BETTER QUALITY CONTENT AND SUPPORT second: BY WILLING TO PAY FOR IT.
just like any other industry in the world.
would you wear pants which has whole in the back just because somebody gave it to you for free. no you will fix it if you want to wear it and it will cost a little bit of money.

The thing is ‘A fool and his money are often parted’. You don’t have to buy anything from the CS to play – PERIOD. It is all ‘luxury’ items and none are really needed to play the game. You can play this game without anything from the CS and do just as well or even better than people who buy stuff in the CS.

Understand it – they are ‘frivolous items’ not really needed to play.

ESO is a classic examples of a sub game. They have gated so much of the content – One race you pay extra for. Want the fastest mount in game, it will cost you, etc. That is more of a cash grab than GW2 ever will be. The same can be said for the other sub games that went F2P recently.

a lifeless fool with all the time he has, just like you but you better know this fool, without fool like me and my money who buys stuff from gem store there wont be game for lifeless fool to play so you should thank me that i am exist or like i said no game for lifeless leechers like you, you are problem of gaming world go find job or something so you can afford 15 a month, cheep fool.

I paid for the game upfront – period. Yes I am cheap because I can get cable TV for 4 sub games which has way more content, see the problem with your argument? There is not enough content in these games to make a sub viable any more.

Thanks for the abuse – it was ignored.[/quote]

i posted that answer twice for you to read it twice. wait didnt you just say sub based games are not better but you have 4 sub based games already , whats going on with you ? do you even understand what you are saying yourself. you are against sub but you got 4 of them.
I SAID: it is up to us to ask anet for quality content and support even if it takes subscription,

to all guys saying P2P suck. first all those games like rift, swtor. eso… it is not the sub fee which brought them down, it was low quality of content and support that made people to say the game does not worth a sub. AND none of them is actually free i played them all.
there are successful sub based games like FINAL FANTASY XIV with over 2 million subscribers, why i am not there because i do not like the graphics and on top of all unholy trinity. but the game is pretty good over all for many people.
IT IS ALL ABOUT YOU. ask for better game and have will to pay for good game.

If Im gonna play a new game after Gw2, I will start lookin for subbing games. Im not sure I would sub gw2 if the choice comes up in the future, as Im not a big fan of some of the changes that has been done lately. But who knows.
I didnt buy gw2 because it was a “free” game, I bought it because I found it interesting and I wanted to try it. A sub back then wouldnt made any difference.

i really like gw2 but i think i am going for sub based games with quality content and support not sub based games which are sucking money out of players as much as they can and then they will go F2P like the latest addition to mmo world you can guess which game.
i am playing games to be entertained rather than wasting time and mess around in games and say it is free at least. for people who are actually from NA/EU they know 15 euro/dollar a month is nothing and ppl pay way more than that for things they like.
but unfortunately the lie of F2P goes well with lot of poor gamers. and well i think they are in majority hence you get low quality content and support instead free to play.

no subscription fee or so called F2P, tried many of them ( not naming so wont give handle to anet to delete the post) none were actually free and when you want to play them seriously then you realize there are number of limitation and you might end up paying even more than sub fee.
that being said. if it takes subscription fee to have quality content and support and also expansion every 2 years at least like some tradition mmos then by all means ANET please do it. i would gladly pay 15 euro a month to get bug fixes update asap (world boss mess for example) to get better living story content with more permanent effect and on top of all expansion.
i think it is fair for both players and devs because devs get stable income and we get better polish game and more and better content.
if so called B2P means silence on state of the game after 20 moths.
if so called B2P means addressing bugs days or even weeks after rather than asap fix.
if so called B2P means no expansion in 2014
if so called B2P means i have no right to ask for those thing and if i do it is whining.
then by all means go P2P anet BUT make gw2 one of the best games out there.

it is over for EU a week ago and for NA a day ago.
but ANET did not update gw2 website with results and announcing winners and probably an interview with at least one member of champs((not that i was hoping for interview with first 4 team of each region, that is too much of expectation.i know)) but at least uploading a picture of winner(( in game characters at least)) and simple interview through phone call. why both “prepare for the tournament of legends” is still up on the front page of website, well at least remove them.
we know that you are busy with china lunch but come on updating the website about events is being done regularly on mmo games which are not suppose to be triple A mmos, you cant even do that.

and yes as of today the best mmo out there is gw2 that make sense particularly if you played recently released mmos like me, you will understand why.

i only have 15.4 million karma and 500 obsidian shard. I hope I can have more gold.

Of course it’s worth it. he made 2 legendary and give him money for 3 legendary skin.

It would cost him karma anyway if he made he made juggernaut himself.

i made 3 legendary weapons and still have 7milion karma. but if i want to make 4th i will still consider karma farming and map completion is more boring and time consuming than gold farming so would not give away 2milion karma and my map completion gift for 1750g which i can make in 2 months(max) without wasting my karma.
as for skins well this is problem with fake wardrobe he runs around with them while he actually does not have legendary gs, happens in gw2 only

no not worth it because of karma you wasted. usually ppl miscalculate legendary because they consider gold only.farming 25g a day is not hard at all and in 2 month you will have 1.5k gold almost equal to profit u made but farming almost 2milion karma and map completion to make another 2 legendary is way harder. if you spend same time farming gold(instead of karma and map completion) you make lot more gold that profit you made and you end up having eternity which is the only high class legendary, rest of legendary weapons are just too common.

Unlimited Gathering Tools - Worth it?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

saye.9304

the bigger question is are they gonna last forever like legendary weapon what i mean is the highest harvesting tool Orichalcum harvesting tools are blue level 60 and they are good for harvesting 80 zone and areas but lesser than those is not good for lvl 80 zones.
now are those unlimited gathering tools level less meaning when expansion hits and level cap of zone(areas) raised are those tools still good to use or they are out of date and work only on old content?

Leveling is the worst it's been

the trait system is not made for the current game because gw2 is a aged game 90%+ of the game population is 80 already so they have several ways to get their alt to 80 fast with help of their main.and this game still has new comers but their number is not big enough to make anet reconsider.
but the question is why change to trait system now after almost 20 months?
because of the expansion:)
remember all of us are going to be low levels again when expansion hits and they want us to go through expansion content by unlocking traits rather than rushing through content to reach level cap again.
that is why many people are for it. it actually make leveling fun when you play an expansion it is patch preparing you for the future.

this game as of april is 20 months old and expansion hits every 24 months based on traditional mmos like wow or even rift.
yes you are right the maximum time that the original content or old content can keep players playing is 20 months there fore many mmos announce their expansion in month 20th which to be released 4-5 months after. because it give time to build hype again and put the game back on first page of game websites etc, and also there is enough time for beta testing and preparing the game for expansion.
in that regard ANET is not late and actually it is on schedule .feature patch 15th this months after that there will be announcement on state of the game and i really hope it contains info on expansion other than that it will be suicide for anet considering all the new games and expansion of old games.

Again, ANet built up too much hype...

yes the feature pack is mostly about fixes that should have been done long time ago like wxp ac bound it has also some good stuff in it like new trait system and wardrobe but the way they release info on it((day by day or every few days)) will make it hyped like they are releasing info on expansion and not a feature pack.

well i always believed that both casuals and hard core players are necessary for successful game.
if you are casual you can get exotic gear fairly easy and all content of the game is play able just fine except high level fractals (40+) after addition of ascended gear.
addition of ascended gear was good but it was costly and made casual players angry there have been several posts on forum from those players complaining that getting one set of ascended is costly yet for your alts there fore i think the solution was to tune down the cost and mats for ascended so casuals could get at least one set(to do high level fractals) and hard cores could get for 2 or 3 or even more for their alts. pretty fair enough for every one.
legendary weapons were suppose to be the ultimate item and getting them need effort and hard play or opening up your wallet if you do not have time, never the less they were suppose to be icon of prestige and pride that indicate whether you are pro player or you are a rich player again never the less it was suppose to be the icon of prestige.(( and totally optional by the way))
in that way the economy is balanced between these 2 kind of player.
anet did not understand the meaning of balance why?
because now with everything being account bound from legendary itself to their skin the game will favoring casuals and soccer punching the people who played hard or spend a lot of money getting multiple legendary and ascended for their alts.
is it gonna back fire at anet just like the ascended did when it was introduced?
YES ABSOLUTELY.

anet destroyed the meaning of legendary by lowering it price and prestige how?
let me give you an example:
i got kudzu for my warrior but i also wanted kudzu for my ranger. so i was playing and buying gems both to get it. now i only have to craft ascended long bow and give skin of kudzu from my warrior to it. which means same state and same look.
yes it is good for me i save gold and materials but like i said:
it will lower the demand hence price fall.
you will see a lot more legendary weapons around hence lowering the prestige.

Dear, when items become too hard to obtain people call them grindy. When they become easier, people talk about not feeling it as an accomplishment.

There is always different opinions and therefore different audiences.

that is why there should balance, what i mean is when game released and people saw how difficult making legendary is they were like “omg we are casual gamers,we never gonna get one of those or it will gonna take long time” it was kinda of unbalance in favor of hard core players.
so anet increased the reward of playing, so more people could make legendary weapons although a few months later many people got their hands on one legendary at least to the extent which twilight and sunrise became the most common gs skin in the game but still acceptable.
but it is unbalancing again toward making them so common that they lose prestige completely.
i know some of my guild mate who have enough gold and karma etc to make multiple legendary but they wont go for it because of the commonness they prefer gem store skin with ticket.
and maybe that is why anet change direction to make their gem store skins much more popular.

guild wars 2 is in its 20th months and this game is still solid and strong in mmo market and still selling boxes as matter of fact according to the latest ncsoft announcement gw2 is the second most profitable game of nscoft (( lineage 1 makes much more money for ncsoft than gw2, but also we should know it is a very old and made its player base during years and mostly in south korea, same goes for wow)) but in compare with games released 3-4 year ago in west , gw2 did better than all of them and holds the title “the fastest selling mmo”
that being said, lately some wow fan boys start asking for unholy trinity in this game that is why i wrote this to give you heads up that if this game goes with old tradition game play it will join a long list of games offering unholy trinity game play, 99% of them are low class and unsuccessful and barely surviving.
gw2 is good but with improvements it can get much better and remain as successful mmo for years to come.

about haters who complain a lot. look i bought some games and paid subscription for them for them but at the end i did not liked them and moved on, never went on their forum and giving hate speech and disrespect people so please if u see such people complaining a lot and not helping to improve the game"tell them to ……censored" thank you.

Legendary are already meaningless

the fact is legendary weapons are easy to get now days just farm 20g a day (takes 3 hours a day average) and in 3 months you can craft one legendary (600 in month) that is pretty much common for most of the players in this game.
as matter of fact ive seen farmers making 60g a day through endless champion farming for boxes (add this to the fact that you can buy gem and convert to gold as well with only 10 euro) and they have multiple legendary weapons and funny thing is many of them get bored(because they got best of the best easy) after some time and they do not log on, THE IRONY IS IT IS BACK FIRES AT ANET.
ps: you can buy 2.5k gold from sellers with 150 euro(small amount for something you like people pay way more thatn that for stuff they like) and some people have second account for gold buying purpose only.
but in case of pvp, you have to win against some of the best players in the game and that is much more work and effort than brainless champ farming.
