What needs to be changed with the Downed System is the fact that one person on your team dying has no cap on the amount of people they can rally on the opposite team. It’s very frustrating to have all of your efforts negated by one person dying.

Stop right there.

What I am trying to explain to you is that stacking retal requires NO coordination. The retal is spread from normal gameplay due to blast finishers being activated regularly in combat. You do not have to stack nor coordinate nor call out “Blast light fields if you see them” to get the effect I am talking about.

Thats assuming most guilds and players know how to properly use and stack blast finishers, and there are a lot that still don’t. >.>

That’s the beautiful thing. Guardian’s hammer auto attack lays down a light field every 4 seconds. Ring of Warding, Line of Warding, Symbol of Swiftness, and GS #4 are also all light fields which are placed on the battlefield in the middle of combat.
What’s even more beautiful is that light fields have priority over most other fields so they get blasted from normal combat/gameplay. No stacking or coordination required.
The more you know.

EDIT: Added Symbol of Swiftness and Sanctuary to my list. A hammer/staff guardian has access to 5 different light fields which are all on relatively short CD’s. They also have a “free” blast finisher on a 5 sec CD with hammer #2. Couple this one guardian with a group of ~10 or so and you have near perma retal without even trying.

Might be a glitch. you can buy all sets of level 80 exotic armor pieces. Soldier for weapons and trinkets.

You can buy most stat sets of weapons as well. Not trinkets, however.

I just find this to be an extremely poor counter argument. Those people working on the useless stuff can very easily be reallocated to more useful projects.

Put Animal Hats and Karka Queens on hold. Stop with the new stuff and go back and polish existing content. What happened to the “massive” dungeon revamp that only managed to graze Ascalonian Catacombs? What about a functioning guild panel? A LFG tool? 10 months in and this game still has massive holes.

Yeah I noticed this before last patch as well.
It seems like the bug occurs if you start spamming 2 in down state before your skill bar appears.

It sort of happens with Lightning Flash as well if you spam the skill while riding the lightning or while in Mist Form. You’ll pop out of either transformation with Lightning Flash on cooldown without you blinking anywhere.

Correct, you did not mention that. What you did say was that there is no profession in the game that can pump out enough DPS to kill that particular ranger which is wrong. You also said that the only way to kill them would be with a full zerker or imbalanced build, which is also completely incorrect, not to mention slightly contradictory to your first statement. What I am telling you is that I and several others have had no problem killing the rangers you are talking about with a balanced d/d ele build through sustain and attrition, not spike damage.

Against a bunker Ranger or any bunker for that matter even a meta Guardian the HARD counter is a full burst build. Since this thread is about Ranger the ONLY ele build that has a chance is a full zerker build….

You do not beat a true bunker with DPS it an illusion son, you do it with burst up to about 14k or greater in a single blah blah blah blah.

Or perhaps you do it by using techniques such as properly timed skill interruptions, precise positioning, kiting, and dodging, or applying pressure. You know, things that take player skill.

It is not hard to create a d/d ele build that has a hard hitting burst while maintaining the sustain and tankiness of a classic bunker. After that, it all boils down to your individual skill, which seems to be lacking if you’re going to just sit there and say, “Nope, the ranger bunker is too difficult. Better just RTL away.”

This is another classic case of L2P.

Just FYI, you no longer need the zerker warrior and mesmer set up to kill Simin. I had a friend get his Dungeon Master title post-nerf with a group consisting of a necro, ranger, ele, and 2 guardians.

Here ya go. I didn’t fill out the armor, but I use mostly PVT gear (stuff from AC) mixed with some cof gear. I have 2 sup rune of monk, for +15% boon duration, and 4 sup rune of the ogre, because rock dog is awesome

10 in fire is vastly inferior to 10 in air.

Whats better for wvwvw tank or zerk

A mixture of both is best for WvW. Going all zerkers will turn you into a piece of glass and full p/v/t will make you hit like a wet noodle.

I use knights gear with berserker/valkyrie trinkets. The knights gear gives me a good base crit chance as well as a decent amount of toughness. I get my crit damage from the valk and zerker pieces.

If you’re 10v1ing an ele and he ends up killing some of you and getting away, that’s your issue. NO ele should be able to 10v1 or even 5v1 against competent players.
You say you’ve played the class and know what you’re talking about. That means you obviously know to burst them the second they’re out of water attunement, right?

lol – you must be new to WvW. That’s a supply camp, not a spawn point. Also, just because a mixed group has a few tags in it doesn’t mean it’s a “guild’s” group. I think I counted 7 different tags in that screen shot.

However, as always, if DIS would like to GvG [VK] is always happy to oblige. I know I’ve asked a bunch in the past, but since you seem to be directly calling my guild out I thought I would bite.

I wasn’t trolling. I was being serious because I had fun fighting you guys.

And I know that screenshot was of a supply camp -_- If you were actually there then you’d know that our skirmish ended up at your spawn.

I keep getting asked personally through whispers to GvG with VK but I am extremely put off in doing so because of this toxic forum attitude displayed before me.
