So… let me get this straight: You’re unable/unwilling to comment on the questions/ concerns people have; instead you try to distract with unpleasantries? Well, that pretty much answers it all, thanks.

Why, Vizu… maybe I shouldn’t get involved, but can I just point out the obvious flaws of what you’re (repeatedly!) saying:

On one hand you try to absolve responsibility while on the other hand claiming the legitimacy of what you’re doing.
Surely, if you actually believed what you were doing was legitimate, you wouldn’t need to do the former.
Now, the standard response to foul play (or even just a glitch) is not to exploit it but to stop it and mitigate the imbalance it created. But you do not do that. Care to explain? One way or the other, this is intentional behavior, why deny it?
Add to that some evidence, and your entire defence implodes.

It does happen, during the dead sister storyline, but nowhere else I think. The only difference I think it makes is to the appearance of the sister ^^

The lighthearted nature and evil cuteness of the toys was great. Nothing like being mowed down by a bunch of tantrum-throwing, faceless children’s dolls. Therapy will be needed for weeks to come….!
Still remember my first impression of the event, shortly after opening: that moment of pure shock when I first came across a gift and, naive and in good faith opened it, only to have a horde of malicious skritt almost murder me in cold blood (yes, I am ridiculously gullible and past experiences taught me nothing).
Or the moment we were fighting a horde of centaurs and I got knocked over by a giant gift falling from the sky.
Lazier game designers would’ve just made the gifts respawn in place. Too funny!

Everything was good fun and done with care, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself

Oh, but as for players…: thanks to the guy in the Durmand Priory who opened a gift and pulled the mob all the way into the services section who got me killed as I was afk and didn’t expect anyone to be that moronic. And then you ran away. May all your hair fall out prematurely and your teeth go bad, as you justly deserve
Apart from that minor display of stupid, people I encountered during the event were great fun. Thanks for making the games fun and all the christmas spirit!

If anything could be improved, as some have said, some background could’ve been interesting, but that would just have been a bonus. Thanks for a fun and well planned event, ANet!

There’s more than enough decoration to go around between LA and the more modest decorations in other cities. It would be REALLY obnoxious if everything everywhere would be completely decorated the way LA is.
And sorry, going off random user reviews first (when the majority of people here just posts to complain and isn’t representative of the experience the majority migh’ve had) instead of trying it out for yourself is just stupid. You’re biasing yourself, and you might’ve enjoyed it, if your first reaction hadn’t been to read and follow the complainers. Now you’ll never know.

Can’t all these similar, whiny-type complains go in one thread? Does everyone really need to make their own? They all contain the same thing.

While I have experienced the perils of Toymaker Tixxes toys myself, when an oversized present fell right on top of me during a raid on a large enemy encampment, rendering me temporarily unconscious while my comrades were left to fend for themselves and leaving me with a mild concussion… I also happen to find the Roes incredibly annoying. Many a time have I had to escort them off my property at intimate gatherings to which they were not, I repeat, not invited and it is all just very bothersome.
I therefore motion for trial by combat.

Also because I would simply be entertained by that.

Furthermore, I also fancy feeling for those in the employment of Mister Tixx. I have softened to the matters of the less fortunate and it is indeed Wintersday. So let us lend them our ear, I wish to know what they have to say.

You want the cities to be decorated…. but they ARE decorated? What exactly are you saying? Are you just complaining for the sake of complaining? Sure sounds like it.

seconded You guys did an amazing job. There’s some stuff I won’t ever manage, including the jumping puzzle, which I don’t have a chance in hell of ever completing (being truly hopeless at it), but that’s cool. So I won’t get all rewards, big whoop, who cares; it’s all good fun. Not everyone should be able to get everything available in the game easily, otherwise nothing would be special.

Yeah, it might be an anime thing. Also, Daenerys. It can look quite good…
And I actually think it makes a character look more like jailbait if anything. Certainly not less…

Agreed Beyond just Wintersday, which is impressive for all the reasons you listed, I think ANet deserves praise for all they do every day to make sure the game runs smoothly.
Despite sometimes odd complaints, it seems to me you guys do everything you can to make your users happy, and that is a rare thing indeed in today’s market overrun by out-of-touch callcenters, automated responses and desinterested staff.
I can’t even think of anyone else who interacts with their users as much as you do, and has a response time of just a few hours.

So a big thank you to everyone from ANet, you are amazing. And happy holidays

I’ve only opened a couple of presents where no one was around so far though, and was under the impression that the Skritt vanished after a little while. Hope I didn’t get anyone in trouble.

I’ve managed alright with the very pathetic to watch but so far effective “run in, grab present, run as fast as you can and heal” strategy.
…. it’s not pretty. But you get presents.
