Many dungeons are annoying, hence the low frequency of them being run.
The only thing legendary about legendary weapons is the amount of gold and luck you need.
How can I tell what dungeon paths I have completed?
They could leave Teq as he is, just remove the timer (or set it to 30 minutes).
I play a lot of hours each day, but only doing casual PvE content. I play to have fun, not to be frustrated and certainly not to rely on others to get things done. I am able to camp out for hours to make sure I get in the main zone but now that I have finished the Tequatl achievements, I will never do it again. I only return to that zone to farm logs and ore.
And to find a “casual vs hardcore” debate here is a bad sign. It is why I left that other MMO.
After numerous failed attempts in overflows (11 if my memory is accurate), I FINALLY got in on a kill today. I camped out in the main zone 2 hours in advance of server reset to insure I would not be in an overflow. Teq went down and I finished all the achievements for him, and I am so glad I never have to go through his fight again. It is just too much of a hassle and a hard lesson in frustration. I know there are those that enjoy the encounter, but I simply loathe it.
I would like to be able to stow my pet and if it is on passive, have it NOT pop out when I get into combat. Stowing it means I want it stowed until I click to un-stow it.
Wanting people to listen to directions and be able to push space/dodge when told to so that they jump over a wave =/= elitism… smh…
Obviously, this is not what I meant and you are just trying to be clever. I would try to explain it to you but I feel I would be wasting my time.
I don’t want them to mess up anything else in the game. It isn’t fun waiting around to fight a dragon I have been killing for a year now, only to be put in to a overflow server that can’t even get him to 90%.
This. Plus, the content is fostering elitism and fracturing the community.
Hopefully never.
Go kill some boars or play SAB.
Ah yes, fostering elitism. Just what GW2 needs.
Not.
If you complain that content is too easy, then you have no one to blame but yourself. Take off all your gear, grab a rusty sword from a vendor and go attack a dragon. Do not rely on the game to make things a challenge for you. That being said, Tequatl is not tuned for the masses to enjoy and therein lies the problem.
If I wanted content that wasn’t intended for everyone, I could have stayed with wow.
And nerf the disconnects!!! I never had a problem before this update. I disconnect when rezzing someone, when using a waypoint, etc. Not every time, but often.
Coalforge’s Short Bow
The crafting of Ascended weapons does involve the RNG. While this may not be an issue for many others, I will never, ever attempt to craft a legendary as long as certain parts rely on “luck”. Not to mention the Legendary Short Bow is a unicorn that shoots rainbows… sheesh.
I have made significant progress towards my Ascended Short Bow and am looking forward to the day it is complete.
I would not even consider starting unless the precurser I wanted dropped for me. It simply is not that big of a deal to me as I see legendaries everywhere. All you need is gold or real life money… not really legendary in my opinion.
The only thing legendary in this game is the RNG. Everything else is fun!

I wasn’t playing when that was for sale in the gem store. Will we get another opportunity to purchase this anytime soon?
I rarely notice them to be honest. When I do, I generally think “that guy must have had lots of vanilla beans before the nerf”.
I absolutely detest anything that involves the RNG. I will never participate in any in-game endeavor where a significant portion of it relies on “luck”. This is also why I refuse to use the mystic forge or buy chest keys, mini packs, etc.
I completed the Aetherblade JP and made it to the diving goggles, but cratered when I missed the water (by 1/1000th of an inch). A mistake in this puzzle is death and since no one is ever there now, you must waypoint out and start all over. For me, this is now a hassle and not fun so I will not be getting dive master. It is the only one I lack.
I quit doing dailies and monthlies a very long time ago. But then again, I haven’t actually logged in to play the game in the last 2 months either.
I play a ranger as my main, and when I found out this was the legendary… I stopped playing. I completed all the outdoor content and have no desire to do dungeons repeatedly or PvP.
Go play another game until they launch new content. That’s what I am doing. I don’t like PvP or dungeons and there is nothing worthwhile to do in the open world. You can’t really farm due to DR and it doesn’t take long before you just can’t swing another weapon 5000 times at a monster to get an achievement.
Log in, check to see if Cathedral of Glorious Victory is uncontested. Nope, it’s still contested. Log off.
No, because I do not like PvP. So much so that I never complete the monthly achievement.
Doubtful. I haven’t logged a full hour total in December. This is what happens when a game company tries to force you to play a way you do not prefer… this player simply stops playing.
I completed all of the Halloween event except the jumping puzzle. I have not completed a single thing in the Wintersday event. Heck, I think I only logged in twice since it started and logged back out after 2 or 3 minutes.
The inability to accomplish anything in the open world is the primary factor in my game play going from 40-50 hours a week to about 1 hour a week (if that).
The annoyance and aggravation factor with this event, coupled with the fact that as a collector I will not reasonably be able to collect the things I want… has led me to not participate at all in the event. In fact, I haven’t even logged into the game in several days… but I have been playing another game that is well known but I will get infracted if I mention it. /shiver LOL
The trend towards “RNG, annoying and aggravating” and away from “fun” has already prompted me to reactivate my Warcraft account. I am just about done for good with GW2.
I was so annoyed at the wait time to retry the puzzle that I took that time to reactivate my Warcraft account. Then I simply closed the GW2 Window and played WoW.
With the problems WoW has, it is not nearly the mess that GW2 is. I had such high hopes for this game, bought extra character slots, bank slots and bag slots. But the special events are far more annoying than entertaining IMO.
I just got an email today… offering me free play time to come back to WoW. It’s patching right now. I was so excited about GW2, but the latest updates ruined it for me.
I just ignore the monthly. The reward is not motivation to play in a way that I do not like. If you try to make me play in a way I do not prefer, I will simply not play.
I get the impression Anet is intentionally trying to drive players away from the game.
I feel my days are numbered with GW2. When things become more annoying than fun, it is time to move on. I did get an email from WoW offering me free game time to come back to them.
I play my thief simply because they run faster than anyone else. I use a sword/pistol combo and spam 1 and every now and then press 5. I do not do any sort of PvP, only PvE.
I am not a min/max player and honestly don’t know, nor care to know, all the intricacies of having the absolute most effective weapon set or trait set. I run 20/20/0/10/20 with a Knight’s Prowler set of level 80 green armor. My sword is exotic but my pistol is green. I use a green short bow as my swap weapon. I can kill just about any mob I set my mind to, even large groups.
And before anyone says I would not be effective in their group, don’t worry… I don’t group or do dungeons with my thief. I play the way i like to play and I have fun doing it, that’s all that matters.

Just today, I clicked the icon and pressed LOGIN… then sighed, and closed the window.
I had full exotics before Fractals… now I feel as if I cannot keep up. If I wanted to stay on a gear treadmill, I would have stayed with Warcraft. WoW has a lot more to offer overall for me, but I hated the treadmill so I was thrilled at the release of GW2. I guess I’ll pick up a copy of the PandaLand expansion and reactivate my WoW account. And even though GW2 has no monthly fee, I am not bothered by the $15 per month at WoW.
The gating, I hate it. Now everyone cannot play with everyone else. You must be Fractal Level XX in order to get a group, you must have this gear or that gear to get a group… it’s really sad. GW2 is like a giant fireball plummeting towards the ocean at warp speed.
I agree with the OP, we need all dungeons to scale from solo to 5 man.
When I needed to get the WvW jumping puzzles done, I would log in to WvW and see if we had control. If not, I stayed logged in but AFK and waited. Yes, I took up a spot on the team but I don’t care. I do not care about WvW, who wins or who loses, or what rank anyone or any server is. I just wanted to complete the map for the achievements.
I ended up transferring to a server that always dominated 100% of the WvW maps so I could get it done. Now I don’t go back.
I realize the purpose of this game is for ArenaNet to make a profit, so I have a few suggestions on how they can generate some extra cash using the gem shop. My suggestions use US currency since that is where I am.
1. Release a new, unique mini every month. Make it account bound, exotic and set the cost around 500-800 gems. I just know there are lots of mini collectors out there who would like this.
2. Make the legendary skins available in the gem shop for 5000 gems each. Make the gem shop legendary skins bind on acquire and easily distinguishable from the in game grind version. This is for those of us who find it easier to grind out $62 in real life than to grind out the requirements in the game.
EDIT: Perhaps the gem shop legendary skins could require 6 components and only one component is sold per month for X number of gems. This way it could only be acquired over any 6 month period for a set amount of gems.
3. Reduce the price of Black Lion Keys to 10 keys for 800 gems or 80 gems per key. This equates to $1 per key. I would be much more inclined to buy keys at this rate whereas now I do not buy any.
4. Make more really cool armor skins! I bought the Primeval skin because of the look and have seen quite a few others with it. I have never seen anyone with a Profane skin because IMO it is butt ugly (and apparently others dislike it as well).
5. As for the RNG and chests, If you want people to spend $20 for 10 consortium chests, they EXPECT something in return for that $20. Sell a single chest for 1800 gems (or more) but guarantee there is phat loot in it.
6. Gems to Gold. As long as you are more expensive than the illegal gold sellers, you will lose business to them. It is really as simple as that. Fix this.
Anyway, these are just my thoughts. I know others will disagree but that’s OK.

All the gear checks and kicking and spamming, complaining, blaming, whining, wiping and sitting around in towns waiting for groups. FUN!
Best GW2 quote, ever.
So what do want here, a send off? Just go if you don’t like the game.
Still going on my server. I am tabbed out with auto attack on… this is quite a lame event IMO.
copy and paste the link and it will work
I run 30/0/20/0/20 and have for a long time. I use shortbow primarily and swap to axe/warhorn for a buff every so often. It works well for me using pigs and pets. They tank and knock down and do damage. Great for solo PvE, which is what I enjoy most. Works well in groups with a different pet.
In what little WvW I do, I use longbow and short bow with the same build and whatever pet strikes me at the time. I usually ignore the pet when doing WvW.
The sarcastic replies are not related to separating PvE and PvP. Not sure why you even took the time to post that.
Please remove the PvP requirement from the regular monthly achievement. It would be great to keep PvE and PvP separate.
And sorry about the typo in the subject. It won’t let me edit it.
