NA servers have a lot more kiddies on it who roid rage at the simplest things, I’ve learned not to say anything.
I wonder if people would have claimed how meaningless it was if GW2 was not in the lead.
Meaningless=Meaningless. I just voted for Anno, never heard of the game.
Spam F on that console, sometimes it works.
‘sometimes it works’ … why break something that used to work 100% before? Wait, that’s ANET. Rather if they had spent their energy and resources doing more productive things like making an expansion, or adding new skills, then I would understand.
Because people think mai trin is too hard to actually finish her the legit way. You can thank baddies.
Last night, my little brother shared me this “Wall of Hate” which he has accumulated over the years of diligent pugging. I’m not sure whether he would post the image himself at some points but I couldn’t resist
I want to add a bit of background information. This “little brother” I have always mentioned is a junior fellow countryman of mine who has helped me a great deal since my noobie days. He is a highly skilled player in all classes yet still a humble and avid student of the [Noob] mentoring program. In short, he is the kind of meta player with a casual experience. His LFG usually reads “80 experienced, DPS, meta or close to meta only”, which hilariously attracts all sorts of imaginable hostility. Plus, this guys is a bit of a tease with his explosive passive-aggressiveness. He never kicks anyone for being bad, but his speech may or may not have pushed them off the cliff
I want to dedicate this Wall of Hate to our dungeon community on this ThanksGiving occasion.
IM SO PROUD, IM IN ONE OF THOSE!!! (There’s a dnt guard build that used strength in numbers as a substitute.)
Hey Buddy, there is a way to get into the fractal and be useful! I don’t have a screenie but what you do is you walk up to the console take a right all the way into a wall. Hit the cement wall with your character and you will soon be ported in.
Edit: I found a sort of ish screeanie. I hope this helps.
I went that way but only ran into the wooden gate. Youre saying the cement wall is the answer? Which side of the gate?
The cement wall is the answer!
I’ve had this problem too OP. GW2 client is extremely sensitive to any connectivity issues.
BTW to anyone confused, FPS[Frame rate] does not equal lag.
I would love to have a new profession, something new and refreshing is always welcomed in a very stagnant game.
Glowing dyes would seem hard to implement on some of the armor sets we have in game. But sure…glowing dyes, we need more stuff that is shiny, glowy, sparkly, bright, blinding and seizure inducing.
A lot of content already is soloable (including some dungeons). I’m not sure more soloable content is the answer.
When I don’t wear my GWAMM, I wear Champion Hunter. I love those titles and it shows you aren’t completely braindead.
Fractals is more accepting of all professions, if you have one profession that you always play, it’s more than welcome as long as you are a team player. It’s hard to solo/duo fractals because there are some team mechanics that require 3+ people.
Watch that video guide and then join either a new group or one that is lvl 1-9 (since they are the same difficulty), do not do lvl 10+.
I’m looking forward to the ascended version, otherwise this stat combo is worthless to me. I only use my engineer in fractals so this will be a nice switch from using zerk gear imo.
Well thanks guys, I’m not so picky about my team mates as long they aren’t bearbow rangers or condi guards.
I’m also low on AP shrugs I’ll stick it out on NA servers.
First off, I only do fractals so I’m not talking about normal dungeons. For NA, the wait times to do fractals (lvls 20-50) is incredibly slow and usually never leads to a full/sucessful party.
With your experience is the EU wait times faster than 10-20 mins around EU prime time?
PST: I play mostly during EU prime time which is why I don’t have a NA guild doing fractals.
Thanks
I found the Mad King dungeon very fun and similar to the mini dungeons in GW1 during Wintersday that a lot of people enjoyed.
A psychology degree is very useful.
…………….. sup?
Very festive of you
Its just like what, 3% of total world completion? Don’t save this as last bit but hop in every now and then to check if you can reach the missing pois/vistas etc.
All well and good, except there are a lot of people that just don’t like pvp. So they avoid it. It’s not their mode, their play style, and there is nothing wrong with that. People, including Anet, need to respect that everyone plays differently.
Lol, I love pvp, WvW is god alwful. It’s not just people who do world bosses all day that have this problem, sPvPers do too.
Why are WE still playing? Because we have an internet connection and free time to do so.
1 FLAW WITH YOUR POST. Your son is 6 and not this 5yo I intended to read about in the title.
Ppl why all the rage? Theire targeting their game at
nitwitslow IQ ppl. The all-mighty metrics have shown its a growing niche that needs atention. Heres a development suggestion: Popups at loggin remembering you whats the name of your toon and the controls for the game. You know, for the also expanding market of half-senile players.
I agree, theaire targeting system is really bad. Thaie need to keep things simple so we don’t get too overwelmed.
4) people who understand this game is way too simple to be this dumbed down, because I create characters and this game is extremely easy. People should learn rather than getting spoon fed. Also, can never please a whiteknight so I’ll move on
PS nothing I say is proven to be fact, I’m expressing my opinions and my opinions only, you rabid whiteknights go about your fact only bsns pls.

I wish I could buy something from the gem store that would automatically sell my items on the TP for me so I can practice on my interpretive dance.
it dun broke itself sliccck
This change is all for the better, the combat (IMO) was getting very stale, I hope the next feature pack removes dying all together, such an archaic form of punishment in MMOs. Maybe add a new game play mechanic called “dance battles” so we can really show our dance prowess.
You know, it makes me laugh a bit. People always compare this game to Guild Wars 1. Guild Wars 1 had more this, Guild Wars 1 had less that.
You got skills a whole lot slower in Guild Wars 1 than you do here. You may have gotten a few at once, but you got them slower.
I played this game for an hour today, I had four skills unlocked on any weapon I picked up.
I just find it amusing.
That’s true, Vayne you DO get skills a lot slower in GW1. I made a video about it if you wanna look at it:
People should be able to express their opinions good or bad without being attacked by fanboy/haters.
Sounds like a good way to increase demand by decreasing supply and in turn increase gem store sales. Nice.
The thing that bothers me most is the lack of content. Anet said that they think they can do all the things that an expansion does in the living story. Well now we are halfway done with season 2, and there is still no content on the scale of an expansion.
Comparing the timelines of GW1 and GW2: gw2 was released 2 years ago, at this point in gw1’s life we had Nightfall for > 6 months and in 4 months we would get Eye of the North. That means at this point we had 3 continents to explore along with everything else. All of this was done when anet was far smaller and had far less resources than it has now.
As someone who has spent an enormous amount of time on anet’s games. This is very disheartening. I want this game to succeed, I really do, but at this point all I can get myself to do is go online for dailies every once in a while. This game has HUGE potential. I feel like that potential is being wasted.
GW1 also got War in Kryta, huge content release and a few months later Winds of Change. Both these updates were at least double the size of living story content and replayable + rewarding.
I wish there was less gem store content and real game content. Speaking hypocritically (I know) I would love a paid expansion with loads and loads more things to do with ideas previously thought about but not totally developed (polymock, DR shooting area, black citadel arena).
I’ve started to play more casually, only doing PvP and leveling up alts. I am much more happy with the game than I was 2 months ago.
…but no one should be able to solo farm the underworld and if you can, there’s a problem.
While you’re entitled to this opinion, I have to disagree. Challenge in most large online games is going to be aimed somewhere in the middle of the player skill continuum. Easier games, it’s at the low average, harder, it’s at the high average. Players being able to challenge themselves by tacking content not meant for solos is part of the way that they cope with the fact that they find the game to be too easy. The same applies to people who solo dungeons in GW2.
You couldn’t really solo the UW especially after the Dhuum update, what I mean is you could not complete it yourself. UW was challenging both in solo and group play, even speed clears were difficult.
I’ve been playing for about two years now and I’d agree that there isn’t enough end-game content. Sure they may have stated that this game was meant for casual players but they also stated that they wanted to avoid a grind experience in the game and look how well they stuck to that philosophy. From the GW wiki let’s take a look at a good argument for more content:
April 28, 2005 is when GW Prophecies came out.
April 28, 2006 is when GW Factions came out.
October 27, 2006 is when GW Nightfall came out.
August 31st, 2007 is when GW EotN came out.
August 28, 2012 is when GW2 came out.It is now August 30, 2014 and we have had hardly any new and exciting content and there is no sure sign of expansions. Guild Wars 2 has a steady player base and the developers have stated that they are always working on new content for the game.
So what is this content? We’re nearing the point at which GW2 has remained fairly unchanged in the time all of GW1 (and all of its expansions)came out. Living Story, in my opinion, is hardly new content as it has released hardly any new map content, simply reused old places and added way too much on cliche npcs written like a fan-fiction novel more than GW lore. Factions and Nightfall brought new and fresh ideas to the GW lore and LS is trying way too hard to sell itself perhaps as an attempt to get players involved.
Maybe they have been working on expansion, which would be understandable if one pairs their lack of consistent new content with their apparent constant content development. Once again in my opinion, I really do feel they should stop releasing stale content and start consistently releasing new things that people could actually agree on as legitimate new content.
It’s not so much a feeling of entitlement as it is expecting the developers to stick to their own standards of content releasing that they set long before GW2 ever came out. GW2 has been amazingly successful and it’s really sad that it’s been relatively stagnant all this time. Agree or disagree, those are my opinions on the matter. OP has some legitimate reason to be upset.
I understand this is my own personal opinion, but I see the Living Story as a total waste of time. Sure, it adds great new challenging enemies to fight but that’s about the only long-term addition I can see in it. Characters will come and go, skins are just skins, but the improvement in enemy difficulty is a step in the right direction in terms of long-term game development.
GW2 has undoubtedly had a ton of problems, but we’ve been spending the past 2 years eating up small crumbs of content while struggling through their constant adjustments to fix broken content.
Let’s say ANet offered us cookies. They give us a ton of under-cooked cookies. We enjoyed the cookies regardless because it’s a new flavor that we were all eager to try, and we want more. Now, we’ve been waiting two years, eating up the trail of cookie crumbs on the floor of ANet’s well-established bakery, just waiting for them to deliver more cookies. This whole time we’ve been waiting for our order, the bakers have been in the back trying to figure out how to properly bake a cookie instead of giving the customers more delicious cookies.
I’ve always considered making Eternity as my final goal for GW2. I’ll be finished making it soon and then I’ll have no further goals to stay in the game. I’ll get on for a few hours occasionally to see if there are any new developments, but these last 2 years have lowered my expectations of GW2 development to the point that I really don’t have any hope for the game anymore. I was really hoping this was a game that had a direction and one I could stay in for a long time, but I’ve seen most of the friends I made on GW2 sell their accounts (which I don’t support) or simply stop playing for games like Archage Online; I don’t want to be one of those people stuck in the past, and right now it seems that GW2 has no future.
LS isn’t progressive. LS is stalling. Stagnant development.
Thanatos did a beautiful job expressing the opinions of me and many of my GW1 friends share. Quoted for justice!
I would like all bosses be around Marionette in difficultly, not too hard but not too easy.
Maybe it’s just me but I don’t get turned on by “skimpy” armor. I wear it because it looks good and compliments the body. Now, TERA has some tasteless skimpy armor, this game is perfectly fine…
Must be MM, will aggro everything…
tomato, tomatoe ;-)
That screenshot of the MM party in CoE at Alpha still cracks me up!
I know lol! That’s the reason I did it XD
I did a CoE advertisement that looked like: LFM CoE 3, MUST BE MM NECRO. Only 2 necros join, no MM.
What’s better than a male charr?! A Female charr!
