I’ve only unlocked herald, don’t really feel like unlocking anything else.

The current state of fractal rewards seem borked and really haphazardly put together in a rushed manor.

My problem with fractals is that I feel like I am losing money each time I do them- if I want to use those fractal encryption gold sinks (I know they are worthless) I am not making any money at all for even more time spent in fractals. I could obviously sell the encryptions to make decent money but will they really stay at 20s a piece? I doubt that.

Golden Fractal Weapons are an RNG gate backed by another RNG gate unless you want to spend god knows how long getting more golden fractal relics to be able to choose the exact weapon you want.

I wanted less RNG not more!

Exactly, in the end it is all about the Benjamin, they are a business and people seem to forget that. It’s doesn’t have to be morally correct, I don’t even necessarily agree with it but from a marketing stand point it works.

I could use the drug addict example but that might be a bit overboard.

When people want something really bad, they might get upset if you make them wait but when it is finally released to them, they buy it up blindly. How many people blindly bought the xpac ? I think some people are giving far to much credit to the typical consumer.

Yes, they need to make money. They make more money if people are happy and enjoying the game and feeling fulfilled because of good communication with ANet, the developers. If you are enjoying something, you spend your money on it. Marketing is the devil too imo.

You cannot use the addict example in this case, because no dealer in their right mind would not sell to an addict if the product and money are there on the table. How does the dealer benefit from not selling immediately? Anyone who buys HoT was always going to buy it.

The smarter option would have been to release all the profession specs 1st, that way people who liked them would immediately buy HoT, after you have their money, it doesn’t matter if they like everything else.

Seriously, who of you that have not already, would have bought the xpac immediately if Druid was revealed 1st and it was amazing?

You can argue that some of the other specs were not ready to be revealed and felt rushed (my opinion of course). My prime example is the Tempest which even the animations do not seem finished for some races. (ex: Charr overcharges)

I agree with your release schedule- I think there would be much less disappointment with communication than what it currently is.

That’s kinda my point about this situation. Do you really think in 1 BWE we will be able to test the entirety of both specs and have the team balance it to be on par with the other specializations who had 2+ BWE to be balanced?

I am not doubting their ability to balance but everything takes time and feedback, we aren’t given that for these 2 specializations.

I don’t agree, people are getting to the point of ridiculous with their RELEASE THEM NOW threads, I’m willing to bet they see a major increase in sales right before next beta weekend, provided they aren’t a complete failure of a specialization.

The only failures to me are tempest and DH which is mostly because these 2 professions were in a good place. Ranger has never been in a good place with this community…never… It’s very critical for the devs to get the druid right, I understand that. The lack of information released for arguably the worst profession in all aspects of the game (necro being tied/close second) is horrible for the community!

I can’t say I’ll leave the game if Engineer spec is horrible because I love how it is now. I just don’t know at all the design features. I want more information…waiting this long seems ridiculous. The expansion is only a month and a half away. Jeez >.<

Anyone else disappointed with the lack of information for our specs? It’s funny to see that we are so late in the game since Anet really made a point about “druids” and had an engi shown off in the HoT release trailer.

I want to be able to test our specialization balances as much as any other profession does…it’s a shame we get so little time to express our feedback on each balance and make sure the developers have enough time to test and fix the changes!

Thieves have easier access to stealth and blinds which is why you want a thief in the first place. I’m not saying engi can’t do all those things but it takes a bit more effort than 2 clicks like thief.

I already run full sinister trinkets on my engi and have zerk, cele, sinister ascended armor depending on what I wanna run. I don’t care if it’s super meta but if it’s good enough to be in a casual run that’s fine by me. Currently running pistol sword cuz I PHIW.

About the W* topic. I love W*, I played the beta extensively and have had an open sub since the beginning. If you love dungeons, raids, and difficult group content, this game is for you.

The only fractals that destroy pugs are ascalon, cliffside, and fire shaman. The rest can be done by even the most incompetent of people eventually. Maybe add dredge to the list only because of the control panel.

Call me a horrible player but I had a group that couldn’t kill old tom, and they advertised as a “zerk only pls ping” group. I solo’d the last 50% on my engi. We took about 45 minutes on that fractal alone rolled cliffside and I rage quit…because kitten that.

But other than those fractals, molten and mai trin are of course, party destroyers.

If WvW is apart of world completion then dungeons and the spvp map(s) should be in it too.

I am happy about this change and I’m speaking with 5 world comps under my belt.

In PvE you can play any set up, any gear choice. This game is so easy that it does not matter what you choose. The only thing that matters, is time…people don’t want to spend 10 minutes kill some boring snore fest boss, they’d rather do it in 20 seconds.

Oh yes it’s so easy to follow the champ trains yes. Or World Bosses.

You are super defensive to my posts for some odd reason. So I am ending my discussion with this. Yes, this game is easy not because you just press 1 and win. ( because if you’re implying easy=only using 1 button you are surely mistaken) I mean that no matter what button you press you can still win in most situations. I used to play a minion bomber necro, I cleared every dungeon and got up to fractal 30. Then I switched to a staff ele that didn’t know what a might stack was and I was still able to complete every dungeon and get to fractal 50.

So no way was I implying pressing 1= win. Easy to me is no matter what I do, If I faceroll on my keyboard I can win the majority of PvE content. Which I did for the better part of a year and a half. I’m not trying to incite a huge discussion by saying content in this game is easy. This is my opinion of course, not yours.

I would love to have the option, that when you gain a level on a level 80 character, you could “save” this level for an alt instead of earning a skill point.

It would solve the “switching character at the end of the dungeon” thing, and you’d still have a choice.
It would only work with a level 80 character anyways, which is sort of proof, that you were able to level in the first place.

I have no idea, why ANet has not yet implemented this idea.

But Anet would never ever implement this system with their recent redesign of the leveling process. It’s clear to me they want people to level the old fashion way.

This guy plays out like he’s the victim “oh I am just a lonely guise looking for zerk group and dey always mean to me.”

In reality, this guy is brutally mean to all pugs. The group I was in was constantly told how much we sucked, had low DPS and were a bunch of failures. So eventually, I was fed up with him being this way, whispered 2 people (that I knew we also pugs, the 4th was his buddy, I could tell) and we all consented to kick him on the second fractal. The categorized fractal. Then lone behold his friend (who we did not kick, they were not being mean) starts to re-invite him, I keep denying, eventually he’s accepted before I could kick again. All 3 of the pugs were kicked out of the fractal.

Yeah, play the victim. You’re obviously not.

Engi is decent where it is, depending on the skill of the ele and the build you’re using, it can be impossible to beat one.
