Not sure if this has been mentioned but… I need an item that returns soul-bounded item into its previous not-yet-soul bound stage. It would tremendously help a lot of players low on laurels/gold to spread the wealth among their own characters. This way I feel much better playing different classes without feeling guilty because I’ve invested too much on one or two characters that have all the ascended. Or, say, My warrior was using Twilight but now I want my guardian to have it… that item can make the twilight account bound until used once again. Since Legendaries are cosmetics anyway, why not ? It’s not like it would cause game play imbalance. Knowing I can always re-use my legendary on different characters would lift the spirit of exploring new class and investing in new class to a whole kitten new level. It’s a GREAT way to make more money for YOU NCSOFT (instead of just making legendary account-abound like a lot of players have suggested which of course, I am very much in favor as well).

It would be even better if we can unbind certain items and sell them back when we’re done with it. Until then I can settle for an item that can make things account-bound until used.

Seeing how we ‘ll get ascended weapons and armors, infusion recipe might not be necessary anymore. That said, I’d be bumped having to take away runes or sigil from my weapon/armors in order to increase AR.

Pro-tip. Vitality gets you killed in fractals. The lower your total hp, the more your heal skill does for you. Since I have 11k total health, 100 heals are twice as effective for me as they would be for a warrior.

Oh man, I never thought of vitality as being such a nuisance in FotM. I guess my PVT build for warrior is a bit off. I’ll try mixing it up with my zerk gears.

the aforementioned website is reliable. Getting into an active guild with a lot of people running dungeon is also recommended since you can count on your guildies to not kick you or refuse to party with you for a dungoen run, granted that you’re a decent level 80.

When will we get a recipe to infuse accessories and necklace?

and how do people survive any fotm higher than 40+ at Maw? like dubya U Tee Eff… sigh.

I mean without guardians using their elite skills …we all would wipe constantly (in which case it kinda goes against the Gw2’s stance on not having a holy trinity). Even then, not everyone can survive agony at fotm 40 + even with 45 AR which I think is the highest possible atm. Am i wrong? is there a new patch I dont know about?

Plus, I’ll take Dredge and Grawl any time over Cliff Side fotM. Those chanters are OP. When devs decided to nerf certain professions, why did’t they also nerf monsters to even things out? srsly!

The targeting is horrible … tab sometimes doesn’t work. I have to take a few steps back sometimes to know where to click to target …. it’s not a smooth experience.

Case in point, wurm is a total kitten to target …

Just wondering what everyone thinks about making dodging or blocking give players a boost or a higher chance for better drops?

Perhaps, when we dodge, we gain like reflect points to spend? Perhaps, these reflect points can aid out magic find for better loots? Same goes for blocking and interrupting skills …

Currently in game, on some rare days you get “dodge” as a part of daily. Why not making dodging/blocking/interrupting a daily affair?

So I think i’m only “lucky” for like two to three days out of the week. It’s totally random regardless of whether I have mf gears or omnom berry… For example: While doing world events/Fractals, I would get more rares and ectos from salvage on Tuesday than any other days of the week regardless of my gears or food….

Does anybody else feel like they have just one or two lucky days?

Daily, guild missions, and some world events are pretty much all that I’m doing currently after having gotten all ascended gears (pvt and zerks) for my warrior. For $60 bucks, this game is worth every penny and more with it’s mini exciting temp contents.

Being bored is expected! Anet would not want us to be like WoW addicts portrayed in South Park :P

Strange as it sounds, I think that’s where Guild Missions will go.
I haven’t participated in any, but that seems like the perfect place for ArenaNet to make such a thing possible.

Guild missions can get too crowded too fast…. I’ve been in a large guild doing puzzle and challenges… and the lag makes it unpleasant and not at all challenging or dynamic when you have too many people.

A 10-man-limit dungeon call solve this “overcrowding” problem and offers challenging fight. That said, I’d rather Anet makes more improvements on their current 5man dungeon. The improved AC was definitely a positive progress so was the molten facility dungeon.

So…I’ve been obsessing over obtaining these random, temporary pets/aids that you can purchase for a couple of silvers. And I think there’re more to be discovered in Tyria. So far, I’ve only stumbled upon two npcs that allow players to buy pets after helping them complete their events (One is fire elemental and the other is ogre whistle in which u can summon random pets like Griffinhawk or others similar to Ranger’s pet). Anyone knows what i’m talking about?

Well…instead of NPCs following you… in Gw2, you have the option of buying temporary pets from a few event NPCs that you help finish their quests. Fire elemental and ogre pets are pretty neat. They help fight and do pretty nice dmg. Any class can use those and pretend they have a pet like Ranger.

jk aside… a good rule of thumb in game to remember is if things are making you too much money too fast with absolutely no risk, it’s bad news. Except playing to Trading Post which comes with its own risk.

Queensdale is just a better, less complicated starting area. I made a mistake of starting out as an asura in the beginning and ended up quitting this game for a while. Then when I picked it up again as a human, i was able to complete that map like 6 times now. Overall, that map is just a lot easier to complete and do events than other areas for me.

I think it could get too costly …. and i don’t see it as flexibility but rather laziness to access your bank in wvw maps… or in LA before heading to wvw…

So…i’m proposing a housing system in which players are tasked with a scavenger hunt for parts to build a house ( their own free wp in different maps/zones).

Allowing us to populate and defend our home turfs in pve would be tremendously fun. It is a nice thing to do after 80. And no, it’s not like WvW because this is your own home with its own benefits in that zone. Imagine, Jormag is landing and you get a distress call! That’s exciting. Imagine being able to use the trophy from mobs to craft trophies to put in your home. That’s nice.

The benefits can include newsletter when events are happening in that world. EX: Say, I have a home in Dredgehaunt Cliff… each time group events like Commissar are happening, I would get a mail asking for my assistance. Talking about real dynamic events that can change the landscape forever, if i don’t go assist that zone, I can stand to lose my home? Or lose favors with certain NPCs by which I would gain less money the next time I complete events for them?

Or if the ideas of housing system is too hard or the ideas of letting your players making visible marks on your land is too …hard… ,

what about allowing your players to offer bodyguard/services/partnership with a set number of NPCs in different zones for world events? Right now we have regular heart NPCs that we discover, but once we discover them and complete their services, we no longer keep in touch with them. What about world event/group event NPCs with whom we can sign a contract that says they can call on us for help when they need help? what about increase in rewards/karma/gold when we help them more often?

This way, you have a nice in-game system of letting your players about world/group events. The best part is that your players would want to keep in touch with NPCs and different zones in this world.

Mainly… I want an in-game system that alerts me of bosses that give nice loots. And why not?

In all seriousness, there is a direction to this game: explore the land. Most resources went into PvE. Only when I’m bored with PvE, I pop into spvp to try out different professions and different traits. Learning different fighting styles within those professions is also a fun thing to do when bored.

I love this game because it fosters self-reliance. I don’t need a healer. I just need to better myself and make myself a better team player.

Do you still do Dailies every day?

Sometimes I feel “forced” to do daily, but really, it’s only because I want to get things fast… like another ascended amulet or another accessory. Frankly, for a casual gamer that only has one or two 80s characters…you don’t have to log in everyday to do laurels. But for people who play everyday with 4 or more 80s and who want to equip all their capped characters with ascended gears, they kinda need to do daily everyday. I cry a little inside when I hear people spending laurels on stuff like dyes….wtf. Just No.

I should add that the daily does encourage me to go explore and complete quests in different maps. It’s sort of like a nice little generic in-game goal that you can follow in order to progress in this game. It’s a step in the right direction to keep players interested and active in Gw2’s contents.

That said, Guild Wars 2 encourages you to play it casually by punishing you if you play too much. At least that has been my experience.

No, this game is not a calling. Why so serious?

But it is not a crime having an option for people who want to master their game play. It’s part of the exciting adventure as you get to know both the land and your own ability.

There is no singular content in this game. You have PVE, Fractals, dungeons, wvw, pvp…etc. And are we expecting the level caps to stay at 80? No more new maps? Dungeons? New Fotm?

Perhaps, trait swapping is something to unlock at lvl 100 when you can equip your ascended weapon. Thoughts?

Btw, I just think It’s better to put ideas out there. It’s more fun to speculate than going around shutting down everyone’s opinion. Please do respond with more than just this is false/wrong/not correct. It’s clearly a matter of life and death here……only not really.

Is CoF Farm an exploit ? *

I do quick CoF runs now and then to make some money. For a good run to be worth your time, you need skillful dodge and mastery of your utility skills to keep your party alive especially if you’re a mesmer. If you dont know what you’re doing, your farming party will pretty much fail to be a farming party due to lack of speed and sometimes success.

However, making all dungeons rewarding and not just challenging is something I can behind with.

And this is a community. Some people enjoy farming! Some people like to see their gold going up in their bank! Some people like achievements and ranking! Some people like those who complain about CoF farming can go do PvE or WvW because honestly, Anet has made this game such a friendly game that you don’t need alot of gold in order to be on equal putting in terms of getting gears.

Gold in this game for the most parts only get you cosmetic stuff. At the end of the day, the more time you put into the game, the more money you will make. Then, should we have Anet banning people from logging more than 5 hours day so people don’t make more money?

Play. Have fun. Catch up on some tv shows. Get on a treadmill every once in a while.

Traits swapping like weapon swapping

Well, the traits swapping mechanic could be disabled in WvW so that’s it’s not too over powered? Cool down option?

Traits swapping can raise the level of the game to a whole new level. It’s a exciting!

People that are the masters of their class will always be better than those who don’t play often or experiment with their traits. That said, we should all aspire to master any of the professions we like in anyway possible. The game shouldn’t be dumbed down or slowed down. Not allowing flexibility during combat makes it quite a boring fight.

Besides, I’m advocating for traits swapping mainly under the context of PvE / Dungeons. PvP /wvw is not my area of expertise so feel free to entertain solutions or different options.

Legendaries Unfinished

I do hope they plan to make the efforts to make those legendaries more worthwhile .

It’s not a smooth “immersion” experience when you equip your Twilight and you still don’t get the legendary treasure achievement …

But, that’s not a big deal. I just want to know if transmuted legendaries will be left out in the cold when legendary weapons stats are bumped up (if they at all decide to release ascended weapons). Is there a ticket about this already?

Legendaries are currently just for cosmetics. I do agree that some don’t seem to be at all polished. If it’s not going to look as grand, why not make it less difficult to craft? Is it Anet’s fault ? Or is it player’s fault for being so vain?

Weapons like kudzu and Eternity are very well thought out with the whole footprints and other effects when using while other weapons like meteorlogicus and the minstrel are rather ugly.

Btw, equipping Twilight or sunrise still doesn’t give player the legendary weapon achievement…. at least it’s not showing up when I log in….(

I want to acknowledge that being able to change traits in order to meet different needs and playing style has been a great gaming mechanic in Guild Wars 2. I love it! It has afforded me a lot of flexibility with pve, dungeons, and fractals. I don’t feel punished when I experiment with weapons or traits.

That said, I think it would add quite an interesting fluidity to combat by allowing players to swap traits as they swap between weapons. We already carry two weapons [except Ele/engineer class…we might have to get creative with these two…they are tricky SOBs]. Why aren’t we allowed to have our traits swapped as well during combat? What if players can switch between playing defense/support and high dps and back to def/support and all that during a fight? I think it would help people increase their survival rates a lot.

So far bunker Ele build with double daggers seems to be the only profession I know of that has amazing fluidity in combat. Other professions, besides a good thief, are not quite fluid in combat.

I also believe it would encourage even more people to experiment with their traits and weapon choices. This game is about exploration and discovering the wonder that is Tyria right? Why don’t we let people explore two types of traits as they set out to explore Tyria with two types of weapons? I don’t want to spec a trait that benefit one weapon while sacrificing another. I also don’t want to spec my traits so general that i’m not really getting the best out of my weapons. Allowing me to bind a set of traits to a main weapon and another set of traits to the second weapon(s) would solve this dilemma.

This is just a suggestion. I clearly haven’t thought out every single detail. Please feel free to entertain me back with your comments. If there’s already a thread about this, please point me to it.
