necro and ranger at least have the signet of speed…. my sylvari mesmer in combat feels like waddling through mud….
yes.. this needs to happen. Fotms are already long and tedious… the rewards should at least give something useful via salvaging. Selling for a few silvers = no bueno
I love guildwars 2 because we have a lot of options. The four main ones for me are Personal Story, PvE, PvP, and WvW. If you’re bored of one, you can go to do another. Not to mentions jumping puzzles, new contents every two weeks, and many, many more additions coming in the future.
Lately though, it’s really sad to see how after a year, our characters no longer have any importance. It’s harder and harder to find any sentiments toward my characters. Leveling to 80s is now more about having helpful alts to maybe switch for dungeons/fractals or to camp at Jps, or alternate between world boss hunting for dragonite ores. Right the main three contents get all the love while Personal Story has fallen into obscurity.
Don’t get me wrong. I like living story contents. Yet, those aren’t really meaningful. They are starting to feel souless. I wish more resources can be allocated to developing personal story paths. Help us connect with our own character so that we in return care about the npcs (that are supposedly their closest friends) and the npcs’ home that is Tyra.
For those of us who are invested in this kind of stuff, i’m pretty sure we’re willing to buy lots of character slots just to see how it all plays out!
Minimum 28 is for Fractal skins. But…devs say anywhere or anything that drops ascended materials can drop ascended weapons. So….
Well, as a player, I would like Elite skills to feel powerful like I can use it to turn the tide in battles. However, that would create problem of OP proportion with the current direction of this game i.e “community” fight or more plainly, zerg fest.
In any case, allowing Elite slots to be filled with utility skills would be a nice change.
why would you complain about something as “way too easy to get” when for a lot of people those dusts aren’t always easy to get (since they don’t farm as much as you do)?
Fyi, making those bricks helped people reach the 500 faster so people need as many dusts as they could especially if they are to level all three crafting professions. Like Tom said, stop grinding Champs if you get more dusts than you know what to do with them. </3
1. ele
2. ranger (wish i hadn’t)
3. warriorthen everything else.
THAT IS TOTALLY ME! I started out as an Asuran Elementalist …stopped playing for a while…came back to Ranger (wish I hadn’t stuck with it till map completion) … made a Charr warrior then guardian and mesmer.
just finished my shield. sword is next.
I love the shield! It’s pretty beautiful and classy I saw a white one with power/vitality/healing (?) today and it just looked gorgeous.
can i get an official response or a link to the source on this news about legendaries being made account-bound on use instead of soul-bound?
It would totally make my day!
tried it and let us know? I wanna get my bifrost to my ele
Thanks all. xoxo
=_= i’ll take grawl 48 over dredge and Arah p4 … tyvm.
Hello community,
I’m just wondering if I can get someone to list down easy/quick dungeon runs available in game so I can hit all of them for daily rewards/tokens. (Between 10-20 minutes)
CoF p1/(maybe 2) , AC p1/3
Anything else?
The slow down is just frustrating and and not fun. Remove it.
Dungeons, world bosses will give you what you need. I think it’s a step in the right direction to get people out to play different contents. A lot of people are going back to dungeons and wvw for mats if not for the fun of it.
yeah i bought the mats to craft longbow components like the ingots and leathers.
Just give us combat tonics! no need for permanent change. No worry about personal story. Combat tonics like the watchknight will be quite nice!
Imagine fighting as a fire elemental!
Obsidian shards will be used for ascended i believe…. you’d better keep them :x
If you update one spot, the other spots will be empty. Simple as that. I’d rather have low level zones be busy than high level ones just because new players wouldn’t be left out of the fun. But that’s just me.
For Orr, you literally just need a party of 5 to farm Giant > that one champ > Baroness and repeat.
Let’s have a petition running for mini Hobo-tron :o
I think a talkative mini would be nice especially ones like Hobo-tron. It would be so fun when we complete maps in quiet zones to have minis that can make snazzy, snappy comments as we venture about our business. Just a thought.
Don’t you ever change, dearest Maliel.
I still would like it to have longer lasting time and with shorter cooldown.
Everyone’s forgotten about it? where’s the love ?
ty for the summary!
I mean if the reward is quite good, I doubt it will become a “ghost-town”. I see understand why people are concerned, though, about this event becoming like Grenth’s event. That said, personally, I don’t do Grenth because the reward just isn’t worth the chance of failure. Besides, I can get better gears from fotm/crafting. Having said that, if they offered unique items/skins/one okittend materials the way Balthz temple offers Obsidian shards in bulk, Grenth wouldn’t be such a ghost town.
My hope is Tequatl will not just offer long-winded fight, but also a lot of good rewards. Like everyone else, I might just run around Frostgorge all day instead of coming to Tequatl after the first few encounters if I only get a rare or two.
EDIT: seems like unique skins specific to Teq will be part of rewards as well as ascended materials.

YES pls. ive been saving them and hoping and praying that one day we can salvage for something useful.
There’s this new Korean game called “Black Desert” featured on Kotaku…. it’s supposed to have mounted combat. I suppose it’s awesome, but mechanically not suitable with our current game since we already have waypoints.
That said, it’s a possible idea for a mini-game for living story just like the hunger game, aspect arena, and gauntlet.
I would totally support bigger WvW maps that allow mounted combats
Well, the beauty of guild wars 2
If you wanna grind, now you can grind.
If you want to enjoy the world, you can still do JPs,
map completion, pvp, and Dub-v-Dub
You get to do all that and some
You can do all that and more
but what’s been missing lately
is the heart of the story, the hero
who cares for a barefeet queen, or
an insane salad or an orphaned Ellen
We would like contents that speak to us
challenges us, and invites us
to care. Amirite?
agreed. And also option to consume things in stacks….. 250 × 5 of karma jugs = QQ
The economy will only be stable if there are more than one efficient ways to make money…
Also…what about putting limits on how much gold and how many items you’re allowed to purchase/sell on TP? Something a long that line to smack down those flippers.
Please make more use of karma such as providing higher chance for t6-7 mats, purchase of ascended crafting mats, new regional or npc wardrobes, skins, and other quality of life stuff like bags…etc.
And, buff up karma rewards for random dynamic events so people don’t feel like they’d better off grinding champions. This way those who choose to complete maps and explore the world would not feel like they are getting less than those who are solely hunting champs.
A few suggestions -
Part 1: it’s been widely reiterated. But I still want to stress it.
I think we should have quests/adventures laid out for us to achieve precursors, materials, auras, and footprints. Don’t just hand them to us.. Give us a quest line that truly make us deserve to leave footprints in this world with our legendary reputations. Example: After defeating Zhaitan, perhaps, we can receive a gift of blessing of our choice? like footsteps or aura? Another blessing can be attained by passing a test in the style of the gauntlet? Let us team up with the people that were with us in the beginning of personal story to do another adventure? I’ll be happy to come up with more ideas for quests and story. In fact, many players would be happy to contribute. But don’t ask me to program…
Part 2: Personal story could really benefit from fun and challenging boss fights like the gauntlet. I understand the plan is to provide more interesting traits, skills, and all weapons to each profession. So, why not make players earn them via boss fight or a new line of quests as part of personal conquest? Right about now, I personally do not feel remotely invested in any of my characters that I have spent 1 years playing. Each new update, I’m feeling further detached from my own character because now it’s been about Kiel, Jenna, and now Scarlet.
Conclusion: I want to say that events that generate of gold for players and traffic to different zones in game and traffic/publicity in real life for the game itself are appreciated greatly. Don’t get me wrong. I understand, and i’m glad my favorite MMO doesn’t feel dead to the world. I also like that Tyria is full of many colorful characters making waves for themselves wining political office or celebrating their long reign over humanity. Yet, the more I play, the less important I become to this world. I’ve defeated Zhaitan and i’m still not a big deal. (Oh wait…that was all Trahearne. =__=’ )
You can boast that the world is changing and living and dynamic. But what is the point in having such a world if people become less and less invested in? Sooner or later, laurels, gold, armors, legendaries, ascended gears, and colorful dyes would lose their hold on players. But… if players feel connected to their characters a bit more deeply, they are more likely going to want to continue their adventure and log back every so often to continue their back story or progress on that hunt for skills or title…etc.
I want to be engaged more thoughtfully and soulfully, but I don’t have a lot of options.
I vote for a scavenging system and hard to get titles via complex boss fight like Liadri (which we need a title for defeating, not just a kitten mini that is almost always in a deposit -_-" ).
I’m conflicted with farming events. On one hand, I enjoy making a lot of money, seeing my money grow, and being able to buy materials or weapons right off of TP without feeling …POOR. On the other hand, it’s tiring and making the game less fun and making me a less caring and engaging player. Gold = power gets into head = loss of empathy = bad community.
That said, if the events don’t pay enough, people are not going to be interested. Then you’ll have a lull in between release. People who happen to come late to the party would then have a hard finding anyone to do events with them. While the downside of these money-making events is that it inflates the price of stuffs on TP, the upside of it is that events are filled with people and forums are full of discussion. The game doesn’t feel …dead.
I suppose having options is not the worst thing in the world. Besides, for greatsword we have sunrise and twilight so why not allowing other weapons to have 2 options?
+1
hmmm I have my bloodlust (10gold….) on my twilight… I DO NOT WANT TO SEE IT GONE.
hmmm no ….. the training manual doesn’t solve anything. I haven’t tried the 2 gold and I’m sure no one would want to spend two golds on trait change if it works which i don’t know. Nope not a viable option.
wait…i never of thought of that … do you just buy the cheaper one? let me go look…
I was hoping it will be released in the next patch…but nothing is mentioned.
Now, we have not seen the whole release note yet. So, let’s wait and see. I’m saving karma too in case they decided to make even more use of karma to make precursor.
I would like to propose having a consumable item in game that allows players to re-trait without having to waypoint to find trainer. My main reason is that it would allow players to experience the game more smoothly when they are in dungeons or fractals or roaming around in PVE.
For example: In Fractals, people have to log-out and log back in to LA in order to find a trainer. If you are the dungeon starter, you are stuck with your traits that might not benefit the group.
This item shouldn’t be any more expensive than paying the trainer + the cost of waypoint.
I just think that this way is better than having to update all dungeons and fractals to have a trainer in all those instances.
I hope they update the footsteps soon…
I would like more combat tonics with longer lasting transformation time. That is all. Just want more because it’s quite fun to fight as a watchknight. I could actually see a dark glow on my watchknight better than on my charr when equipping Twilight. But 5 minutes don’t seem enough. Make it 15 mins with shorter cool down? Not complaining. Just a simple request, QQ.
That would be nice. Please and thank you. <3
I LOVE Hobo-tron. BEST. Random thing EVER. I honestly love it. I love this patch. And all the money-generating events of course.
The gauntlet does bring a lot of excitement i haven’t felt in this game in a long while. Watching your guild mates and waiting for your queue are pretty addictive.
Without walking anywhere or buying the 2-week pass… just waypoint:
Press M.
There are different levels to your map. In case of the pavilion, on the bottom right side, select the upper level. You will be brought up to the the world’s map in which case you can waypoint anywhere.
The same thing with dungeon’s map. You can select different levels of map.
There you go. You’re welcome.
@Akamon : challenge accepted.
I’ll still try to complete all the achievements anyway for the FUN of it. There is just something so exciting waiting and watching your guildmates in the cage.
The dailies aren’t that hard… come on now. Just do it.
I enjoy achieving bragging right. Don’t you? Liadri mini is not something to which every player is entitled. It is very fun and satisfying to win what feels like impossible.
As for looking ahead, I would appreciate if Devs could add a new achievement, new title, new dungeon for Liadri and Increase the difficulty! That would be something I’d like to see in the future very much.
Anyway, I empathize with anyone who is having a hard time with Liadri. I have spent about 40-50 tickets myself. But, a big BUT, the feeling after you beat her is worth it. SO WORTH it.
let me repeat the question: can entrance tickets to the gauntlet be account bound? Why not? = _=
Why can’t the entrance tickets be account bound? I don’t get this . SMH.
Someone else might have brought this up, if so I apologize, but I’ve come to understand that the combat mechanic of this game is only fully realized when you work in team. Elder Scroll online copied it and called it “synergy”. (They even call dodging finess …URGH). But here, it’s known as combo (field/finisher/leap/projectile). Your 4 weapon skills can be devastating and beautiful when combined with your team member’s other skills. Say, as a mesmer, I put down null field or chaos storm or time warp and you as a warrior you summon battle standard or skill 5 on horn, and BAM! we’ll all get chaos armor (search Wiki for it)! So pretty and useful!
Also, for Gw2’s flaws, it more than made up by encouraging us to play together in pve. No kill steal or rage when someone takes away your kill or loots. You cut a tree? Fine by me, that tree is still accessible to me. You feed the cows? I can water the corn. There’s a giant boss? let me help you out. We’ll both have equal chance at random drop, and you’re not the only hero because you do all the dmg. We’re both heroes cuz we deal dmg and support each other in combat.
My point is that the game itself is NOT boring. It has so much to offer on so many levels! The only time i feel bored with this game is after I get done farming CoF or running around WvW for too long or too focused on map completion that I forget to look around in the open world, read the tombstones, listen in on conversations between NPCs, and search for jps. Have you come a crossed this NPC in this cave in Bloodetide coast that sometimes starts singing this beautiful song? My favorite moment of gw2 of all time. If that doesn’t keep you coming back, then …hey, we don’t have to play this game hours and hours on end. We can close it and come back days or weeks later to new contents. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying go away if you don’t like this game. But I’m saying that for a $60 game with this much content without subscription, give it time to grow on you.
New contents every two weeks for the price…of FREE. No monthly subscription. New traits, new abilities are coming as well so you can look forward to that.
Anyway, how many characters do you have at 80? what professions? maybe consider looking up build guides online? Sometimes I get bored with my pink-haired Charr warrior, I would go play with Ele or mesmer or ranger (collecting pets across Tyria…how cool is that!).
I quit this game a while back after the initial launch when I started out as an Elementalist Asura exploring metrica province. I didn’t like the map. I didn’t like that I can’t just walk to vistas. I had to stop. But I came back with new attitude to explore different starting maps and classes, and now I’m quite happy with the game.
