I never used GS in WvW and was doing just fine pre-patch, and now with the Torch change I’m enjoying it more.
So since the nerf do not affect you build, it’s fine that other builds are destroyed?
We all knew the LOS on iZerker was a bug. We knew this day would come.
Wrong. Me (and more people according to this forum) considered that the iZerker was there to compensate us for the lack of AoE and the LoS issues. After all Mesmer is a “mental” caster whose attacks should be supposed to surpass walls. Now the lack of AoE and LoS problems are still there but we got rid of what balanced those issues.
+1 to MH pistol (no need to remove scepter tho). Now that my GS build was destroyed in the last patch and need to totally change gear + playstyle, I’m looking for something in exchange for it.
This patch showed to me that Anet have no team specialized in the Mesmer class. And if it does, it’s not them who take desicions about the Mesmer class. Which is a real pity since Mesmer was the “unique” class of Guildwars that no other game had. Bad, bad decisions taken.
Take a Scepter + Focus + Staff for WvW. Works wonders.
Which means I have to spend another 20-30g in getting new armour, weapons, jewellery and traits and changing my gamepay for doing less damage than before…
That’s why I don’t want to complete 100% of the map. I don’t want a shining star over my head.
Same feeling here. All my gear, traits, and gameplay was designed for my Greatsword build. That’s many hours (even months) invested to get it right. The nerfing is so serious (both making the iBerserkes un-castable and reducing its damage) that I feel like quitting the mesmer for now.
Considering they totally overhauled how LoS behaves for illusions and phantasms it’s not unlikely they accidentally fixed it in the process given it was an LoS issue in the first place.
Only that they didn’t fix the LoS issues. They just added more skills (phantasms) to the LoS pile of failing skills.
Hmm I didn’t notice that. For me it was failing as usual.
You can still put that Berserker up on the wall, you just need LoS now.
So they enemy needs to be over the border lip, where he can be hit without the Berserker anways. And now you cannot hit Archer NPCs on walls anymore (but they can hit you) or any siege weaponry. And if target was not in LoS you will get the Berserker skill in CD even if it wasn’t triggered. This is really a serious nerf.
The Berserker damage nerf does really suck though. Any situation where the already awful Mesmer AoE is nerfed really sucks. I truly hope that this wasn’t intended.
Not intended? Of course it was, since the ultimate goal was to nerf the zerker!
Right now I’m just glad Time Warp wasn’t touched.
You just wait. They seem to be listening to the complains of people not actually playing the class.
Next mesmer “fix” will be that the mesmer will have a 50% chance to be turned into a Moa himself whenever he tries to use any skill.
GS utility and the mesmer as a class has been seriously nerfed due out only attack at people and weaponry in siege walls (or any high place) been removed (Chaos Storm is a joke). I though they were going to make Mind Stab a useful AoE skill or at least fix the LoS issues (“obstructed”), but they did just the opposite.
Now our utility in siege situations is close to zero. The only thing left is to taxi people via portals. No wait… they were also nerfed.
Ok. Mesmer seriously nerfed. Close to zero utility in siege action now.
I was hoping they would fix the line-of-sight issues (i.e. sometimes you cannot hit enemies or defensive weapons that “look” clearly in LoS). But they did the opposite: they removed our only useful attack to enemies in high positions and our only AoE damage (yes, the Phantasmal Berkerker was somehow our “AoE” attack).
The class has been destroyed for WvW and the several months playing the mesmer and preparing him for the Greatsword (including traits, armor crafting, sigils, jewellery etc.) seem to be totally wasted. I am seriously angry.
