After a certain point most currencies besides gold and a few others become useless unless you have several Alt’s.
Legendaries have lost allure for me. I don’t even bother equipping my 3rd one, FSP and I regret making it since I don’t use it as often as I planned. Would be nice if legendaries were a bit more exclusive and actually rare, but then again many casual players would complain.
Casual players wouldnt complain i play 2-3hrs a day sometimes less weekends more, I am almost their with my legendary. To me it was a goal to work towards along the way I made other items to reward myself for getting to a certain point in this journey. But you are correct having one is becoming more common and I dont think Anet had that in mind when creating legendary weapons
if they are your friend click on the name and click the slot where it would say send gift. just like when you invite people who are friends to a party i never type out their name
I don’t get to high or low when patches come out, with games like these I expect changes. People complaining about classes constantly or people finding a combination of skills that blend together so well they become OP. Sometimes changes are made without much thought we have seen this with many games. This community has several very good players and they will always find a powerful build type for every profession.
All I know if I love playing Ele have been playing Ele since GW1, I will find another build if needed or manipulate my current one into something else using other traits. Unless they remove Ele’s completely I will always play one as my primary.
When will Anet finally increase this mobs HP’s the fact he dies in seconds is crazy, and sometimes makes him impossible to tag.
I guess it depends on who you run with as well in most dungeons since they are very easy you can use MF and not have any issues. I personally use it when I run in every dungeon except Arah and in fractals when im doing 26 or less. I do see a difference when I use it as well, but with RNG you just never know how good it really is. If I am running a group with people I dont know I would have no issue swapping to one of my other sets of armor. My MF set is valk’s with the pirate and traveler runes’
You could really expand on this and have 1-4 options per weapon use all the same base materials and maybe add a few minor tweaks based on which on you want. This would also give people more choices for legendaries
I am looking to add a new character to play I use Ele as my main and play it as a D/D build but swap between scepter and staff as well. As I play more and more I run into times where I need a heavy class so I am torn between making a warrior or guardian. I will use this new character mostly for Dungeons and Fractals once I get it going. I haven’t tried either yet so I have no idea of strengths or weakness of the classes and trying them in pvp doesn’t give me a true gauge.

Pro-tip: If you have a guildmate or a friend in the zone, party them, zone in the server and right click on their portrait and you can join them on the original server.

This doesn’t always work, areas can fill to the point that it won’t allow anybody else in, even through party invites.
Alternatively, and my guild just did this last night, you can have someone camp an overflow. A guildmate missed The Claw by being pushed to overflow, and volunteered to stay in that overflow for three hours until he respawned. He systematically invited everyone in the guild to the overflow just before The Claw spawned. Apparently as overflows age they tend to clear out, and our little guild had a dragon fight all to itself, no guests, no lag, it was glorious.
People really need to think this through. Is it worth waiting 3 hours for a dragon in order to get, on average, 2-3 rares?
No waiting that long isn’t worth it the fact that you need to sit idle 30min or more before an event is insane. Now I would want to know is it a guesting issue that is causing this or is it just the fact that all these people now are willing to do these daily World type events.
After trying some daggers into the forge somewhere between 100-180 I think I will just save up and try and buy Spark,
It’s sucks the more we read about precursors and how many possible exploits were used before and more have stated that these items were not destroyed. That was the beginning of the legendary not being any more then just a cool skin. yes I still want to make mine but I it has become more of a goal and something to do inside the game. The achievement of the legendary isn’t how good of a player you are its one of these 4 things.

I have also noticed a drop in rare’s, exo’s and cores from FoTM we run 22-30 a lot. Now maybe its some bad luck with RNG, but since the change in the World Events I have noticed a drop in fractal rares, exotics and cores.
1 exotic, 3 rares and a box of warrior gear so far from the missions, so far these are pretty fun and create some good fun for the guild
I don’t see achievement points as something to judge a players skill on. I see it more as some people just have more time then others.
SO here is the timeline that I know of for sure.
Yesterday morning I log in check WvW for a few poi’s I need this is around 8am est no issue. I get home from work around 9 pm est, by the time I get situated at home its a little after 10 pm. When I go to log in I get a message that my account has been banned. It seems to be a standard response when this happens to someone.
I have a pretty normal routine, I play m-f somewhere between 9pm-1am depends on my work day, saturday I will play a little longer normally after 7pm and sundays is pretty varied as far as times go mostly evenings. I will also play on Wed. when I am off from work.
So I start to think back of what have I done or been accused of well I have no illegal software on my computer. The only ingame program besides Guild Wars I run is Vent or TS. So I continue to back track my last few days, I know I always complete my daily stuff for the laurels. I try and get either a FoTM 10 or 20, I keep an eye on dragon timers so I do they whenever I can. I tried the cursed shore farming for gold/eq but that is way to crowded and I have a hard time landing enough hits to always get some loot. So it has to be from karka farming, I have run there a lot in the past few weeks for two reasons I need powerful bloods for Incinerator and the shells sell for good money. Now we normally do this with a group of people from our guild one night we had two whole groups of 5 running that area. Sometimes when we have under 5 people we will pick up people in the zone to round out our group. My game play has increased over the last few weeks because I enjoy playing this game so I play it alot and getting the material and gold you need for a legendary requires you to grind a lot of gold/material to create it. I have several people who I play with everyday online that I also speak with on vent/ts that can also let you know I am not a bot.
Now I don’t know If I will get my account back or why I was targeted for this? Did I kitten someone off farming karka because we had a big group and they feel left out or did someone kill a mob and they got no loot. I have no idea all I do know is that I am not a bot all of my logged hours on this game have been me sitting at my computer doing the work.
I have been on this game going back to GW1 and all the expansions, played this during beta weekends. I have referred a few people to play this game, I have never used a bot to do my work for me. Would it have made it easier sure but I want to know that when I make my legendary I know I did it legit. I have no problem giving Anet anything they want access to with my account or computer to see I have not used a bot.

Karka farming is the reason we had a large group with us we normally farm 5-10 people from our clan and also pick up people along the way..
I have reached out to Anet to see if they could fix their mistake for banning my account.. I am hoping they do the right thing and look into my account they will see I am not a bot. I have no issue providing anything to prove this, from my computer to my roomate who plays the game as well. Only time will tell just would suck to lose all the time I have spent playing a game I enjoy playing…

I also was banned for being accused of botting…. I would like to see any records of me botting or anything like that yes I run the same zones a lot but I am always on my account… I havent receieved any emails or anything to let me know exactly why I was banned

So who can lend me some keys for their keeps because i need a few more poi and vista’s for map completion!
There once was a recipe for the mystic forge where you were able to dump 2 lvl65 weapons and 2 yellow lvl80s to guaranteed get a precursor. People used that a lot, there are screenshots on the internet with guys having 700+ gold and a full inventory of precursors. While some of those may be faked you were able to notice that a lot of those screenshots were published at a specific time which points towards a real possibility. ArenaNet didn’t ban them and also didn’t delete the items. While more items will lower the prices, prices didn’t drop. Why? Because those people won’t sell 100 precursors within a short time as it would make them look suspicious.
Botters generated a lot of money that is around now because of people who actually bought it. Inflation in online games will occur if more money is generated than spent on NPCs. What do you pay NPCs for? Repairing your gear, teleporting somewhere or by buying cultural armor pieces. This is a very small portion of the money that has been generated and that is currently generated that “leaves the system” in this way. We thus will have and already have inflation that will become worse, but this is another point.
tl;dr: to much money in the system, precursors were cheap as hell for exploiters. Normal players will never get a legendary as the precursor blocks them from getting one.
I really hope Anet would do something if the above was true, heck they banned people for exploiting a snowflake.
The hardest part of Cliffside is people being on the same page when you do the 3rd set of seals. Since there are a few good ways to approach this part once u get past that the last guy is easy with or without stacking. I hope they add a few more zones to fractals.
I think if one need to use an exploit to get more crystals at maw, then I think the people must be very pathetic.
A good party dont let all the crystals just disappear, but keep taking them up so that they dont disappear. which makes it a whole lot easier and not to mention faster to kill maw.
Exactly i see so many people at maw who refuse to hold a crystal an d just try and dodge prolonging the battle much longer then needed
1hr-2hrs per zone is what I have been running, if the zone has more hearts it’s a little longer. That being said I have been in most zones already so its not like I am starting zones at 0%. Last night I hit 80% started about 10-14 days ago and was at 58% really focusing on getting 100% of the map.
Why not a naga mouse with buttons on the side?
All of the daily and monthly are optional if you don’t want to do a part that is your choice. The same could be said for WvW, some people do not like to play WvW but still do it to get the monthly bonus. No matter what they do people will complain that they don’t like something about it, get over it. This is a game, it will never be perfect deal with it and have fun while doing it.
After several days of playing D/D ele I must say how much fun it is. Makes playing a lot more interesting for me.
Master of Elements: cooldown 140sec casting time 6sec
Fire: Solar Flare (240) radius) blast enemies with a blast of Solar Energy
Water: Glacial Blast (240 radius) create a blast of frozen water causing chill for 4 seconds
Air: Call down a Bolt of Lightning that hits a single enemy and any enemy within 100 range for 33% dmg
Earth: Quicksand (240 radius) create a pool of quicksand making enemies immobile and weak for 3 seconds.
80 ele build i use for dungeons and fractals
Full set of Power/Toughness/Vitality set from AC and Karma armor
5 Soldier Runes and 1 with +25 power
Full set of Beryl Ori. Jewelry ( havent found a set for power/toughness/vitality yet) not counting fractal eq .. Which I am working on.
I have 30 in fire, 25 in earth and 15 in water.. I swap around which selections I use with these attunements… in water i like the one that removes conditions, for fire I primarily use the +5% dmg while burning and +10% dmg and Pyromancer’s Puissance, earth I use ones that do more dmg while bleeding..
If I am running staff I will use my mystic staff and drop lava font, meteor storm, fire 3, swap to earth earth 5 earth 2, when i swap to water I use water 2 and the 2 heals as needed..
for my other skills I use the elemental elite, for the other 3 I swap between frost bow, arcane shield, mist form, glyph of storms, and stoneskin..
for fights with large groups of mobs.. I like staying with the bow,glyph of storms and arcane shield.. dropping glyph,bow and meteor storm in succession is nice dmg.
My end stats run between 19500-22000 hps, attack 3200-3400, armor 2400-2500..
Its has a very small crit chance. which im fine with.
I also like the scepter/dagger or scepter/focus..I feel weapons are more fight specific smaller fights I like the scepter/ any combo,
carry 2 daggers, scepter,focus and a staff you never know when you will be on a run and need a different weapon set, I like to carry a secondary set of armor and jewelry incase I need to swap builds on the fly
That would be cool if you could set up gear sets anything to make some ingame functions smoother and less cumbersome
im with you on this ele’s with true weapon swap would be insane, just looking for something to make it easier during gameplay
Now I understand why eles cant swap in combat and I’m fine with that, but how about a hot key we can use so when we are out of combat it can be a simple one click process vs having to hit H then locate the weapon set you would like.
Id really like to see something like 3-4 hot keys for weapon sets so I can swap between Staff, scep/dagger and whatever else we’d like.
Ele is one of the easiest classes to play.
Skill ceiling is high for classes that need to rely reflexes, positioning and timing or particular setup mechanics; Ele has almost nothing of this.So basically, you just stand in one spot with your eyes closed and spam fireball? I can see that working, sure. :p
Ele is by far the most difficult class to master and it has nothing to do with the number of abilities but with the fact that if you want to be good with them, you have to know when and where to use each one, you have to learn your self and group combos, plus you have to be constantly moving and be aware of your surroundings because you won’t last long otherwise. And actually yeah, you do have more skills to juggle too.
So it’s not easy to master, but not that terribly hard to pick up either. It is, however, fun as no other class. And it can be rewarding once you learn all of the above and, you will learn it by the time you hit max level. As others have said, I don’t even have to think about which skill should be used when. Muscle memory.
This is very true, I also believe Ele’s have the most flexibilty of any class out there, with 4 attunements plus various builds that you can swap on the fly makes game play very fun. Just last night during a run, I noticed we didn’t have a lot of condition damage so I ran outta combat, swapped equipment to a bleed build and jumped back in.
Early on I stayed in staff build gives max range so u have time to do damage before mobs even get to you. Also use your glyphs that create eles to help you in battle they can serve as tanks for you.
Your equipment plays a big role in your suriviability
with my lvl 80 Ele im working towards this exact build, need 3 more pieces of AC gear and its complete
