Can we add wiki to the right click menu of items? I hate having to type ’/wiki ’ then ping the item.
I see why that would be cumbersome.
If ArenaNet retrofits base story missions to be replayable on the same character, then I think it might be worthwhile. But currently forcing people to create alts for progression is quite costly.
Thank you for your inputs.
I know those story missions are lower quality than current content. However I think it would increase incentives for people to replay the storylines they didn’t experience if there were an achievement checklist for all the different variations of racial/order/pact/Orr story missions.
- ability to keybind emotes
- show commander’s color in chat “Red Commander MyUsername: hello world!”
- ability for commander to use pre-typed text
Is getting ascended gear via fractal pages worthwhile compare to the other methods available?
I roughly calculated it to be slightly better than crafting, but worse than most RNG meanings (i.e. drops, chests). Is this consistent with what you guys think/know?
People making this complaint has no concept of “group composition”, which is critical for speedruns/farms/etc.
Of course people are going to be toxic at you if you go on LFG and look to be “carried”. I have ele & necro fully geared for T4 fractals, and I only run fractal 40 w/ele.
There is enough “casual 40 farms” for this to be non-issue. You can enjoy your 5-minute runs, while groups with proper composition can do 3-minute runs or less.

The game should show SAB daily inside SAB (hub or instance).
To me, Fractal is more of a chore than anything else. So anything that makes it easier for my daily the better.
Thank you all for the input
I would like to practice breaking breakbar. Is there a breakbar golem anywhere in the game? Preferrably PvE.
My main is ele. I currently run T4 fractals with the ele. However, since I mostly PUG, when in a group without sufficient support, I end up spending more time surviving than doing my optimal DPS rotation.
I have been considering switching to use a necro, since they are more survivable and often preferred in condi groups.
I was wondering do I need a condi necro? Can i run with power necro and still do competitive dps while enjoy the survivability? (since I can just move the gear from my ele to necro for power)
What’s Anet’s stance on necro being the T4 fractals PUG meta? Is a nerf coming?
I know Nightmare Court arc of the HoT story was cut from HoT development. It caused a huge missing piece of how did they end up joining the pact to confront the Mordremoth. There is also some other visibly cut content around Tangled Depth and Dragon Stand.
While it is impractical for Living Story or content patch to go into something like that now, I think it might be possible for a raid to tell their side of the story.
This way, not only would the HoT lore be more coherent, it would also create new content that people would want to play.
I ran into this issue as well, I wanted the Bifrost, but I ended up getting Nevermore because Bifrost required running Arah.
Anyway, I am giving this suggestion because it is a feature I am willing to pay cash for. So it is a feature that they can monetize. It might also make way for future in-plot functionality (e.g. GW1-esque ascension)
I will let ANet make their own development estimates and prioritize their own backlog.
I am a software engineer, so if you had shown me the database schema, I would be able to estimate how challenging the work would be.
Given my experience with GW1 in which you can change profession (Razah, one of the endgame heroes can change his primary profession), I know the GW engine is capable of doing so, so this request is not random wish.
Also telling people to re-roll is not a constructive discussion. Is this the response you would give to people when they say Necro is underpowered or Ele is OP?
(edited by voidvector.2780)
You lose role-playing factor and birthday gifts on re-rolls.
Unusable soulbound weapon and armor are forfeit. I am already paying gems to change my profession, why would I care about stuff that cost gold?
Skill/Specialization unlocks are all hero points based now, so just refund all the hero points.
I know race change is a problem because it would effect personal story and the likes. However, I think profession change would be less problematic.
This would in fact solve a percentage of people’s concern for lack of race change, depending on their cases, like my own. (I don’t like asura medium armor, but I wouldn’t mind asura heavy armor)
Racial cities are relatively quiet. Anet should add Hearts and Dynamic Events for those cities. It could add flavor to each race!!!
- Bear Lodge needs honey, go steal some from the Wolf Lodge.
- Uzolan’s Orchestra is too noisy, convince 20 other citizens to sign this competition
Right now the only reason for me to go to these places is for map completion.
OK bye, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
People are so entitled these days about video games.
Consider this: when you first played the original “Super Mario Bros” 20 years ago or whatever the time it was, how many times did you die before you beat the first level? How many times did you die before beating the game? Or did you actually beat “Super Mario Bros” in 2 weeks? How many weeks did it take before you can finally beat it?
“Best Performance” has little to no effect on FPS for most HoT maps.
I have a slow machine (5 years old), HoT maps perform noticeably worse than non-HoT maps, especially at night time. I have tried tweaking the setting, in core areas, the difference between “Best Performance” (30-50 fps) and “Autodetect” (20-30 fps) is almost double. However in HoT they both hover around 20 fps.
Keep!!! Wait until meta settles down please.
I much rather see condi being useful in the game than 1 skill being OP.
I am not sure why but veterans in Story missions have huge amount of HP. Maybe because they scale with the amount of allies you have.
I am currently lv80 with full exotics. It took me 3 minutes with help of NPCs to kill Veteran Priestess of Lyssa in the Ossuary mission.
Zommoros (the djinn) is male. Djinns are basically sentient elementals (according to the wiki).
WoodenPotatoes did an episode on this awhile back:
Does anyone know what are those Orrian arch structures and their significance?

Do you remember when the game is started and the areas had a lot of player? I want it back!

While this is a very old necro’d thread.. The idea in this is really good. I had the most fun while levelling when the game was just released. Not just because everything was new, everything was fresh. It was because I could run into other people and seek out help for events and actually got a response. If I see someone now it’s unlikely they will even talk and I sorta refrain from it aswell, because most interesting stuff happened in bigger groups.
There needs to be a “critical mass” of people for that to happen. If you only have a few people, they probably are just assuming each others are doing “errands” and would leaving very soon.
Take for example bonus chest events, during odd hours, a few people will just do them without saying much. During more popular off hours, 1 or 2 will call out the times. During rush hours, the zerg might go trigger Karka event.
The dungeons of this game is not really newbie friendly for 3 reasons.
1) Domain knowledge – In most other MMOs, your survival is just your role in the trinity. In this game, your survival is based on your domain knowledge of the enemy’s mechanics. Learning this mechanic without experience is really hard.
2) Gear check – Gears progression is not clear cut. There should be PvE equivalent of Invader’s gear (general purpose dungeon gear) for each profession. This will help with “gear check”-style encounters.
3) “experienced only” – Too many people are just farming these days, they demand others to have both the gear and experience. This new players finding a group where they can learn and grind the gear very hard.
This is gravely needed.

Support for underflow
GW2 NEEDS THIS!!!!
ArenaNet, the whole point of MMO is to socialize. It will be really hard to attract new players and have them stick if they have to level up in a single player environment. It is hard sell to my friends when they see i am leveling alts in a zone where I have to solo everything.
I am hoping there is some kind of Asuran technology that can bring him back, maybe as a golem or something.
ArenaNet is working on an LFG tool, but until then. Try:
http://gw2lfg.com/
I have completed the game with Ele, Warrior, Mesmer. I consider a mission difficult if I have to corpse run more than 2 times on any of the characters.
I would say this include the 2 Claw Island missions and the Rubicon mission in Timberline Falls. If you choose the escort mission in Mt Maelstrom, that is difficult as well.
All the above missions are quite long, so having to corpse run multiple times makes them not fun to play.
On an individual level, both Elder Dragons and Gods are more powerful than the races of Tyria. But obviously as part of GW2, the races of Tyria unite together and killed an Elder Dragon.
There hasn’t been any interaction between the Elder Dragons and Gods to our knowledge, so which one is more powerful is unknown.
I am fairly new to mesmer in GW2 (coming from ele as main). So far I am still leveling my mesmer.
When do I use shatters other than “Mind Wrack” in PvE?
I can see the use of Cry of Frustration, Diversion, and Distortion in PvP. However, I have yet to find them useful in PvE.
I don’t think there is an issue here. But CAPTCHA is horrible user experience.
Simple solution to counter bots here is add a listing cost for offers like a token amount (i.e. 10c). If bot tries to relist every time someone else bits, it will eat into their profit real fast.
I have been leveling alts lately. It is quite boring to level through deserted zones.
- I am soloing most the content
- Cannot complete group events because I don’t have the firepower
- Cannot experience certain content because I cannot get pass the group events
Please implement feature to merge players in deserted low level zones between servers, maybe like an overflow server for those areas.
Make this optional so that people who desire quietness can stay on their own server.
I would support this if Anet can put some effort into redesign some of the missions so that they are more fun in both Easy and Hard mode.
A lot of the later Personal Story missions are not fun currently. This especially true if you play a weak solo profession. With weak profession, you basically corpse run until you finish the mission. In making alts, i usually “mob train” through the mission because they are so boring to fight and are not required to trigger the cutscene.
If Anet can put in effort to redesign those missions and give us Hard Mode, i am all for it.
The real problem here is invisible enemies. Give their algorithms time to match servers properly.

@HabibLoew, what spatial data backing are you guys using? Do you have your own R-tree-esque implementation? Or do you use off the shelf spatial data store implementation? If you guys implement it on your own, what algorithm do you use to do nearest neighbor search? Do you do result set caching for a known location, say a fort or camp?
A game designer said this was conscious decision made on their part to control the economy (inflation). I doubt they will change this unless they get to charge you 15% on in person trade
Is this PvP ? I never had real issue with it in PvE. I have auto target off.

Presets for all classes are more reasonable to other classes given ArenaNet has stated that they didn’t let us have 2 weapon swaps for balance the game reasons.
