Raid and Fractals are not comparable in this regard.
In raid, you have a raid organizer who is the gatekeeper of whether you can run w/your alt. In most guilds I have been in, they make some effort in verifying the builds/gears you are running is legit. Even in a crunch, most would verify you are running the correct traits/utilities.
In fractals, you PUG most of the time. To other PUGs, the Infusion system & the personal fractal level system are the only real gatekeepers. Without infusion system, others have no way to verify that you are just running on your alt w/green gears, looking to be carried.
Just had this happen to me.
I didn’t change my clock. I just put in my code, waited a minute, and submitted. That worked.
You might want to file a support ticket to fix it for the account.
Got it after 5 attempts.
In my successful run, I made sure I killed the boss slowly, and had it die away from the fountain.
Two theories as to why:
1) NPC is tagged as enemy to you, so if you are near the fountain when the boss die, your AoE or Cleave might kill the NPC
2) You might need to damage the boss very slowly to make sure all the map triggers trigger.
Same problem.
2x so far.
Dual attack skills give 384 barrier with full celest gear. No one is ever going to have more healing power than that.
Healing ele is a thing in all 3 game types – you need to try with Magi, Minstrel, or Mender’s gear.
I think the barrier degradation feels too linear. It should be non-linear to give it more gameplay. First second of cast, it should degrade relatively slowly; after 1st second, it would degrade slightly faster, then even faster after that. And make this reset when you apply another barrier. This way there are reason to use stack barriers.
You guys played the class for 1 day. That’s barely any experience with the class. There is no point for Anet to balance the game around that.
After wing 1 of raid released, Ele wasn’t even meta until a few months later in because people weren’t accustomed to the raid playing style.
Pre-emptively removing GCD would lead to less interesting meta gameplay.
Two 12 hour days now for me So basically one complete day or so xD But yeah I agree that GCD should remain. From what I’ve experienced, if the GCD can be base 3 to 3.5 seconds and 2.5 to 3 seconds with Arcane traited, it should be just about enough to allow for some excellent fluidity without sacrificing the need to plan your skill combos ahead. I’ve been running Arcane in my build the entire time and I can setup some nice combos but if it could just be a tiny bit faster, even just .5 seconds for my build, it would really push Condi/Hybrid Weaver into a solid pvp spot, imo.
Yea, I think ~3 seconds range is a good compromise.
It feels long enough to be something something you need to work around, but can be reduced to ~2.5 sec if traited.
I really like your “weapon swap” concept. I think that would be a nice utility skill.
However, I am not a fan of making Unravel baseline, because I feel Weaver should feel different from elementalist.

4 sec CD is by design. Use Unravel to get the goodies you like.
Anet please keep the 4 seconds cooldown on attunement. I want to play Weaver like it was meant to be played.
Please ignore all those who argues for reducing of GCD. They only have 1 day of experience & are just n00bs. Internal testers who probably played the class for over a year should be proper master on this.
You do understand that open Betas like this are usually designed to garner feedback from a much larger sample size right?
If they’ve got 20 people doing playtesting, even if they played for a year that amount of data would be dwarfed by an open beta and the playerbase, especially when you consider that hardcore GW2 players oftentimes trounce the developers in PvP content.
Stop trolling the various feedback thread and let the adults deal with the issues.
You do understand there are people like me who have different opinion than you, right?
I have no interesting in trolling. I am just sick of the fact that half of the topics on the forum for my main is about something that is by design.

taking unravel means you dont take armor of earth, or mist form, or cleansing fire, or arcana blast, or any other more useful skills then what unravel does. Ele already has a hard enough time with stun brakers and useful utility skills. now you want it to have another skill thats useless 75% of the time in a fight? no your wrong sir it needs to change.
Here’s an idea – run Tempest instead if you can’t survive.
Weaver is not a replacement for Tempest. They are both elite options for Elementalist.
play core s/f s/d fresh air ele properly and effectively and you will realize you just said nonsense and garbage
Oh no.. you have to replace one of your burst/DPS utilities with Unravel, i am so sorry to hear that.
Unless you are PvP and running all cantrips, you can afford to replace one of your utility with Unravel. As Weaver, you wouldn’t have access to filler utilities like “Feel the burn” anyway.
No.
ANet, please keep the internal cooldown to at least 3 seconds. I love the implementation you did for most of the 2nd expansion specialization where “you lose something to gain something” this makes the specializations feel like is a real trade-off, instead of just pure power creep.
Play video game is not about getting everything you want, it’s about making the optimal decision with the constraints of the system.
(edited by voidvector.2780)
Sorry, missed that part
Given Daredevil has a lot better escaping ability than Deadeye, I would say this could be true for Weaver vs Tempest as well.

Has anyone able to test whether Axe 3 removes call target on you?
You haven’t understood what I meant. I said “improving” reward structure not “better”. We want something useful and meaningful to spend our relics.
Using words like “QoL”, “imporve” or “better” to ask ANet for rewards when
1) you are not putting additional effort because you already hoarded the currency
2) the reward only benefit a segment of the community (myself included BTW – i do T4 fractals daily)
does not benefit the community as a whole.
If you want Obsidian shards, go farm Cursed Shores and do events in Straits of Devastation like everyone else. Instead of perpetuate this entitlement mentality that not only leads to “dead maps” but also potentially wasting Anet’s resources (resources that can better served giving us new content)
There are already multiple capable tanks. But for any non-chrono tank to be viable we need skill balance between different tanks, particularly class buffs.
You can already tank with druid & ele, and some groups do use them, but they are not meta because it is not optimal group composition.
As it turns out, ANet (in the form of one of the key fractal developers) has agreed that this is worth doing.
No one is asking to be doubly rewards. The sinks for fractal relics haven’t been adjusted; it’s time to do that.
No one said doing fractal is worthless. I even pointed out you can get bank-full of ascended chests in my earlier post.
Basically, what people are asking here is they want more rewards for fractals than what Anet has already given to them without putting up new effort.
No, thank you. This is the type of entitled posting that divides GW2 community.
“Oh, I am a fractal runner, I deserve better exchanges for fractal relics because I don’t use them for ascended gears anymore as I already have bank-full of ascended chests.”
Wtf you even talking about?
Ppl doing Tarir & other HoT-stuff for far better plus repetitive rewards per day than the usual T4 fractal crowd. Improved fractal rewards are justified since it is ridiculous that u can press 1 a few times, go afk afterwards and earn a lot of loot compared to ppl that do instanced content that requires more skill to finish.
“And I should be doubly reward because I still run Arah P4!!!”
Playing style is not a justification for in-game profit, unless Anet deems it so.
Go buy ascended rings and salvage them.
That’s only worth doing if you already have ascended salvage kits from drops. If you have to buy the kits, you generally just break even—maybe a slight gain or loss depending on RNG.
So the sink there. It not Anet’s fault that your fellow players have made it worthless.
Other currencies have new sinks. The OP (and others) are asking for an update to fit the current game.
Go buy ascended rings and salvage them.
No, that would trivialize content.
There is the concept of “carry”:
- With 5-man content, it is often ~2 good players carrying 3 mediocre players.
- With 10-man content, it is often ~5 good players carrying 5 mediocre players.
Making raid 5-man without increasing its difficulty significantly would mean forming/finding a group that can definitely clear the content is trivial, as you just need 2 good players.
No, thank you. This is the type of entitled posting that divides GW2 community.
“Oh, I am a fractal runner, I deserve better exchanges for fractal relics because I don’t use them for ascended gears anymore as I already have bank-full of ascended chests.”
It can. They just need to do 2 things:
- have alternative ways to get alacrity and quickness uptime (without replacing a DPS)
- have another class that can damage mitigate as well as chrono, and do something else significant — that could be either be providing their own class buff or be a DPS tank.
The current chrono tank meta is due to the fact that chrono as tank fills 2 roles (tank + class buff) instead of 1.
(edited by voidvector.2780)
it is to control inflation.
This was my first thought as well when I used it the first time. The heart vendor charged money to ID stuff.
The consensus in the past at least has been to use Copper-fed for blues and greens.

They will likely make Silver-fed available at some point, tho the last time (when I bought it, I think around March) it was in a bundle.
When you enter your home instance, the game should dismount you. Then the mounts would roam around the home instance like cats current do (or the natural raptors in the story mission). This way you can:
- see your mount as a NPC (name your mount, talk to it)
- play with the mounts
- buy pet related items for the mounts
- bring gifts for the mount like we did for Aurene
- do things to get 24-hr mount-related buff like we do with Guild tavern buffs
(edited by voidvector.2780)
Fractals would probably not be tied to expansion.
Raid would most likely be. In fact, the current raid wings require HoT masteries (gliding, updraft, ley-line, bouncy mushrooms).
I had motion sickness for about 1-2 hours in the afternoon when demo first released. However it went away in the evening.
I believe it was cause by frame rate of the game. Initially there were a lot of people in the map, so I was only getting 10-15 fps, I think this might have caused the motion sickness.
I never had motion sickness in this game before today as well.
In order to contribute sufficiently to succeed in raid, most (if not all) classes need to follow a “rotation” either for good DPS or good buff uptime. This is while avoiding or mitigating “boss mechanics”. You would need to be able to do at least that.
The rotation for some classes are easier than others, I would suggest looking for one of those.
Even for pure tank role, warrior is relatively lackluster.
Before chrono tank meta, tanks were mostly guardians or necros, as those classes had better self-sustains than warrior.
Theoretically there could be a PS warrior tank (tank and PS support), but that hasn’t emerge.
This game is often disappointing. Tanking is a natural role for the warrior in every game. Players don’t play warriors to be support healers but to be tanks.
By avoiding pure Trinity this game has gotten to position where even though those roles exist, the meta for both roles are filled more optimally by hybrids — chrono (tank & quickness/alacrity support), druid (healing & GotL/GoE support).
I don’t think this is a bad thing. Anet can maintain this dynamic, but they just need to make other “hybrid” roles viable.
Yes, it exists in raids.
In raids the tank role has mainly been filled by Chronomancer for the past 2 years because Chrono tank is actually 2 roles in one: tank and quickness/alacrity support.
There are raids that run Druid healer tank. They also fill 2 roles: tank and healer, but it is not as common because healer role needs to be more reactive in fights.
So all the tanks in GW2 raid since fair early on had been “two roles in one”.
Theoretically there could be a PS warrior tank (tank and PS support), but that hasn’t emerge.
Just a bunch of spoiled brats whining, because for 3 years the only class they play have been atop the DPS leader board unchallenged.
About all the talks of eles being nerfed, base ele can still pull 33.7k
Not my video, credit goes to Lemon Dealer
Oh please.
Build still uses conjures. Besides, you pretty much camp in one element most of the time anyway:
- F/A – camp air switch to fire to to trigger F/A and only use like 2 skills in fire
- Staff – camp fire with occasionally switching to air to use 2 utility skills
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/6sknue/baseline_ele_337k/
33.7k already, so nothing to worry about
Stop being a class-ist, use your Level 80 booster to roll another class.
It will be in flux, likely until sometime after expansion launches.
- Engineer has moved out of trash because of condi meta and they have condi buff aura.
- Necromancer still considered “trash” in most encounters, but utilized to some degree in fights with adds (e.g. Overseer) as they can epi bounce.
- Revenant has been overshadowed by other classes in both support and DPS. I would say they are in “trash” tier past year.
- Thief is in balance tier past few month with their DPS.
As of last week, Elementalist is 2nd best healing class in PvE. They would be best if we only count healing output, however druid has way better buff/boon support.
Your normally see druid healers in raid, but groups would use elementalist for either training or facerolling.
The problem is, the rotated effects are also used in non attached manners, for instance playing at a particular location in the world. So we can’t just use the model file name, we have to detect the usage.
I am not sure how advanced the tooling is, but in my works this is commonly dealt with via a editor/compiler-supported “deprecated” flags. Those flags would be placed on the old function and a humanly-readable message telling people to use the new functions. The “deprecated” functions would still be fully functional and usable, but would give a warning in the editor and during compilation.
Because it is communicated that those functions are deprecated, and what their replacements are, downstream developers would know to use the new “fixed” functions. Slowly overtime, the new function would supplant the old one due to refactoring, and the old function would only be seen in legacy untouched code base, thus can be deal with more confidently.
Just some thoughts.

What you suggested about adding Living Seasons to checkout is good.
I was responding to
they should bundle living world with the expansion purchase
I assumed “bundling” to be free, but similar problems exist if you charge more for the bundle, as there are players who already own or who don’t want the bundle.
The game is an MMO, as in Massively Multiplayer Online game. You should be getting info by participating in the “multiplayer” aspect of the game.
Instead of going “outside of the game” for crafting info, you can just ask a guildie who has done it.
YouTube videos are not made by machines or evil corporations, they are made by other players just like you and me. If you choose not to interact with them, you are denying yourself part of the experience.
(edited by voidvector.2780)
You can buy Living Seasons with in-game currency.
I doubt they would give it to you for free in the short-term, because doing so would
- reduce population during off-season as there is now less reason to keep the game installed in-between expansions
- destroy future Living Season marketability, as people who missed out during login period would just wait for expansions to get them bundled

You were unlucky. Try another Fractal below scale 20, as higher require Agony Resistence
You can start your fractal progression w/full exotic. In fact one of the earliest rewards you get in Fractals is an exotic ring with infusion slot. You need agony infusions to progress pass Fractal scale 20+.
Each fractal has their own special mechanics, most of those are not very punishing in T1. However, Molten Bosses have mechanics that if you mess up, you mess it up for the whole group. Even so, I am surprised a T1 group would kick people for failing mechanics.
The mechanic:
If anyone in the group tries to range the Berserker boss (Charr), he would teleport to the ranged person furthest away. This teleport is very annoying to deal with, as it messes up everyone’s rotation/DPS. The best is to stay close to him so he doesn’t teleport while avoiding all the damaging red circles. (This mechanic is also true for at least 1 other boss in Fractals) You often see people complain about players not obeying this mechanic at higher tiers, as letting him teleport too early would often mean longer fights in T2 and wipes in T3/T4.
I would recommend join a group that says like “progression” or “XX onward” etc. Those are group where people progressing thru fractals, they are more committed, and less likely to kick/ragequit.
