Yeh you may have wanted to point that out to the level 14 OP.
Why exactly would I have wanted to waste my time explaining perfectly clear, self explanatory in game text?
No. I didn’t want to. You’re just being pedantic.
Unless they are dredge.
So you’re telling me that blind may not be effective against monsters that are immune to blind?
Are you sure?
You may want to also point out that aegis/block won’t protect from fall damage and that Guardians can’t use daggers while you’re busy pointing out the obvious there.
sword + focus + 5 points in the radiance traits gives you 3 different ways of blinding your foes on very reasonable cooldowns (2 of which are AoE!).
You can chain them together along with your aegis to kill enemies without suffering damage.
in GW1 our characters got nice little gifts on their “birthdays” (character creation day).
I’m hoping at the very least that this tradition gets carried over to GW2.
Meh…perhaps. How else would you go about it then silvermember?
Ignore him, he’s a well known troll.
Cause I’m tired and don’t want to discuss with you ~.~ you won’t believe me anyway
You are just another ignorant person who won’t change his mind no matter what.
If you had been willing to learn something you would have opened the spreadsheet and looked at it more than 5 seconds. You can find the dps of any attack there with cast times and delays.I just want to show thieves that we are worth in dungeons and CoF because warriors dmg isn’t that godly but since you only play WvW you can ignore this completely… Sit back and think further that warriors deal more dmg than thieves.
I’m out of this topicI wouldnt want to deal with me either. You know I’ll come at you and demand the math, and since you can’t provide it, you should stop making such baseless claims.
And as far as it goes, I dont know which actually has higher DPS if youre only counting fighting single targets, I never did the math, and I also dont know the absolute optimal builds for both classes to increase DPS as high as possible. I just find it hilarious when people make baseless claims like they know whats up, when they honestly have no clue, its fun calling them out on their BS.
You are just another ignorant person who won’t change his mind no matter what.
Specifically to this, I have no opinion on the matter. I have never done the math, I have never seen the math done, I dont know which is better. It’s very easy to change my mind with anything, all you have to do is prove youre right. In this case, provide me with tons of numbers and discussion about traits and gear, then I’ll take you seriously and listen to you. All you’re doing is poorly piggybacking off someone else’s spreadsheet that doesnt prove anything.
… the math is embedded in the spreadsheet.
You do know how spreadsheets work I hope? Figure it out for yourself and stop being such a baby.
Nope.
There is no healing, no tanking.
If you aren’t putting out at least decent damage you’re hurting the group more than your 1 support skill every 15 seconds could possibly help it.
Just another item on list of the features GW2 needs to implement to be considered a good MMO.
Remember when you were going to completely personalize your home instance with accolades and accomplishments and various odds and ends and be able to invite people in to view your splendor?
I kind of wish that actually happened. Easy to feel heroic when you’ve got a home instance to hop into with a trophy case of sorts.
When the game first came out I managed to get 3 highly desirable, short, 1 word names before my top selections started being taken.
I know this was intended to be a thread from the visual angle, but I am more pleased with the naming because no one else can have them in the entirety of north america, while there is truly no such thing as a unique look.
If there ever is a gw3 and they do the same thing they did with gw1 → 2 as far as naming reservation goes, I’ll be set for names for the rest of my time in the guild wars franchise.
with no cost, or penalty (no revealed does NOT count).
Stopped reading here. All stealth skills have a cost, just like every skill in the game has a cost.
Usually the cost is a cooldown, but sometimes, for thieves, it’s initiative.
Also, I started playing GW1 recently. Its good, sure, but Im quickly reminded what I love about GW2…its different. GW1 is a generic MMO
Wut. GW2 is far closer to a generic MMO than GW1 was in every sense of the word. Static skills, identical crafting system, lack of hybrid classes, forced partying, etc, etc. In fact, the focal point of the original post, the lack of ability to create and customize your own NPC party is a huge part of what makes GW2 MUCH more generic than GW1. You should really think about what words mean before you just blurt out nonsense.
There isnt grinding in GW2
aha, pwaha, BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Kid, Grind Wars 2 didn’t earn its nickname for nothing. lololol…I can’t believe you actually said that. There is no context in the world that would make that statement even remotely accurate.
But since you’re maintaining that ridiculous “no grinding in gw2” stance, answer me this. How do you get an ascended back slot without grinding?
250 T6 rare mats? 1,850 fractal tokens? Oops, both grinding.
Go on, tell me the other non-grinding means of obtaining BiS gear for the back. Surely I’ve forgotten the non grinding option. I’ll wait.
Yeah, or you could go play another MMO and spend hours each evening trying to beat the RNG for items in raids. Clearly GW2 is the only MMO with RNG!
Yeah actually I prefer killing bosses with a 15% chance to drop an item I want to running around in the world killing everything I come across hoping the .001% chance to drop a kite fortune drops.
God knows how bad the drop rate on the “rare” back skins will be.
RNG in GW2 is much, MUCH worse than any MMO I have ever played save perhaps Ragnarok Online, but RO devs never made any promises that you’d have no grinding. In fact, it was kind of the appeal. Anyway I digress. Thank you for your support of Grind Wars 2!
People demand zerk wars because they are incompetent and/or inept. People regularly clear content just as fast with a wide variety of group comps. In fact I think Nemesis has proved that CoF p1 can be 5 necro zerked in roughly the same time as the standard 4 war 1 mes.
CoF p1 can be 5 anything zerked in roughly the same time because classes have roughly the same dps and it is absurdly easy.
Problem is as soon as you want to speed run anything that isn’t trivially simple viable classes drops to warrior, guardian, mesmer and maybe ele.
Weapons skins are RNG in Black Lion Chests. Total crap, but not unexpected. It would be great if you could get good things from skill, instead of just having money and luck.
And the back skins are “rare” RNG from the event rewards? I’m just… speechless is the word.
Grind Wars 2, going strong.
Just roll a thief.
Hide in Shadows
Shadow Refuge
Shadow Step
Signet of Shadows
Infiltrator Shot (shortbow 5)
Put your traits in shadow arts for longer stealth. You’re welcome.
Mug, C&D , blackstab, lightning strike takes slightly more than 1sec .
“more than 1sec”
From the OP
“less than 1sec”.
Thanks for proving my point.
22,215 in a second. Maybe less. Please explain how to counter this with no reaction time allowed?
Let me guess I didnt bring my anti thief build/traits/armor/skillzzz or I need to L2P ha
If you’re honestly wondering how to counter it, you should start with being honest in your post.
The damage you summed up just now took place over 5 seconds minimum from start to finish. “a second, maybe less” ? No. That’s an outright lie which can be confirmed by anyone with a low level thief. Go ahead make one. C&D something, move behind it, backstab it, then run through an entire dagger 1 attack chain. How long did it take you? I guarantee the answer is > 1 second.
Chances are you are just trolling though and I’ve just wasted my time typing up this response. Sigh.
yet ANOTHER video of how unbalanced the thief class is gj
You realize at least one of the people he wrecked was also a thief right?
If thieves are so powerful how did one OP thief take out another OP thief + 5 of his friends?
Oh, just now realizing how stupid you sound when you cry OP when what you are viewing is skill? Typical.
Can you name ANY mmo that has less of a “Grind” then this game?
Can you name Any mmo that has an easier Gear Treadmill?
Guild Wars 1.
Nothing sad about playing D3. It’s a quality game. Just because you own guild wars 2 doesn’t mean you have to play it and only it. It’s ok to have more than one game that you play.
