on a rare occasion ill start the game straight after booting up; there will be this input lag and constant low fps. when i wait a couple hours and restart the game the lag is gone.
Based support flicking me emails even during murica’s night time. even got my serial back! good end good vibes ^^
I get this out of the blue lag in tyria when i start the game straight after a boot up. ive noticed this is dota 2 as well, maybe other games but its always this constant input lagg with constant 10 fps. the only thing between when i was running about low high graphs yesterday and today is a restart so maybe some graphs only apply when you restart the game. ive never seen that ‘restart’ prompt so what do yall techies think?
also im running razer game booster,
2.9 ghz i5,
1 gb vram radeon 6700M,
600 gb hdd,
defragged 2 weeks ago,
virus scanned two days ago,
acceptable cooling system.
GW2.exe set to high priority.
still no effect. this has happened before but it went away after i waited a couple hours then restarted the game. its a full scoobie mystery to me. >_<

i dont know why this happened but me and a companion are completing world 2 zone 2 infantile. we were following a popular guide but something strange happened.
some of the baubles respawned on top of the first bell, on top of master power gloves’ hall, the bauble on top of the trampoline on the dart puzzle level, and probably a whole bunch more but they didnt respawn in the later stages. i had already picked these baubles and, according the the guide, i should have gotten the achievement.
i think they respawned after we had failed to complete the eagle ride; we ran all the way back from the last checkpoint and then i noticed the baubles.
5 hours down the drain. BEWARE, adventurer.
we google now.

me too, friend. i used to get reasonable 30fps around medium settings. after the SAB: return to school the lag is ridiculous. its even chopping, stuttering, low fps with all the graphics on low! i really need assistance because i just cant stand low fps in a game. i’ve tried everything.
+i’m only running GW2. and i have razer game booster to inhibit unnecessary windows processes so believe me. i’ve got 8 process max in the task manager.
+my CCC is on high performance. all settings are aligned with based arena’s FPS sticky.
i’ve noticed something strange that sometimes when i logged in everything was back to normal; perfect frame rate and SAB on max. i thought it was related to my computer just waking up because i had a similar issue with dota 2.
recently my computer has accidentally had its power cord yanked out so maybe some of the hardware is fried but since when did static electricity = slower fps?
YES THANK YOU. its been broken for the past few weeks ever since i reimmersed myself into the gw2 coms. when i enter the search, the only thing that changes is the interactable buttons for the next pages dissapear.

Will we have annual gear grinds after our currently optimal gear is rendered obsolete?
This is almost a certainty. Either higher tiers of gear, or raised level cap.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH no. stop spreading lies.
The new capture points are supposed to be tactical.
However, the major reward from these (the Bloodlust buff) are universal, rather than personal, and there will be kitten all reward for people who hold the points against recapping. This means it will fall on those who are already tactical to take and hold these point while the rest of the zerging grousp will a) continue unchanged and/or b) transfer to a more successful server that is more likely to have secured the buff.
I don’t see a problem with that. recruites get a taste of battle and veterans get a whole ruined area to capture that very much need people like them; their efforts are conducive to the ultimate objective. IM worried if a soldier hides behind a wall’s corner that the red name will give them away; lessening the importance of the ruins by a small amount.
its a very important issue that i have experienced. All who enter the MMO culture will experience too much of a good thing so all should be aware they run the risk. peace infinite waters diving deep!
make your gaming experience as un stressful as possible. dont lash out at people who whine/bait/cant control their feelings, dont argue in map chat, dont lash out at guild members for trivial things, dont play during your bed time, dont beat yourself up when you eventually make a mess (we all make a mess), and ABOVE ALL spread free, undiscriminating love as far and as wide as you can without feeling drained of energy.

Don’t listen to these negative nannies, based arena. SAB is awesome, quirky, challenging, merciless and innocent with a touch of fantastic music. When i first entered this i was just over the moon it was exactly what this game needed. All the content was doom and gloom every animal on the planet is hostile kill everything now we have a touch of pure joy eternal mind vibes!

I was so chuffed to find that secret. but now the animation is gone! it was pretty epic too but even in the first iteration, the scroll did no damage. Can i get some developer insight into this item?
ps SAB is the best thing about this game. confirmed.
my full support for the replacement of server wars with guild wars! there are some issues with this idea but its such a dam good idea that arena net are too smart not to consider this post. They know what works and what does’nt. Perhaps arena net can come to a compromise between the two?
I think that both structures and siege weapons themselves really need some depth added to them outside of the WvW level system.
None of the things you can do to a structure are really transformative upgrades; the only exception to this rule is Waypoint, and Anet even wants to get rid of those. By transformative I mean they fundamentally change how you view the objective. A keep is just a keep until you get a waypoint in it, then it’s a deployment platform for people and golems. If you upgrade a tower, it’s still… Just a tower. It gets more HP, but it doesn’t fundamentally change how a tower works.
Siege is the same. There’re three stages of each siege; basic, superior (more damage) and Guild (more cheaper and more damage). WvW abilities can be transformative once you get their capstone spells, like a basic Arrow Cart is very different when you have Revealing Shots, but it’s a huge time investment to try to get any of them and it doesn’t actually effect the base siege. Again, there’s an exception in the rule in the Omega Golem which goes faster and punches rockets, but that’s really just adding range to the equation as well.
Also the nature of structures being wiped completely clean when they’re taken, and of upgrades taking such a short time to complete, makes WvW feel really transient. The matches last for a week long, but the games don’t really change at any level at any point other than participation rates declining as the week progresses. It would be really cool if the game changed as it goes along, in a way other than “lol let’s karma train it up because they’re all asleep”.
I agree with your statement, the matches need some kind of progressive depth. There is a whole bunch of things that arena net can do with the dynamic event system that will spice the week a little. I would like to see more emphasis on the big keeps. make it harder to cap those during the off peak period of every night. One thing that really bothered me when my guild would be out in the field all day is that the ground we had taken with our blood was all gone in the morning by some morning claimers. If the large fortresses had a mechanic that made them hard to cap during the off peak time segment then i feel everyone would remember the wins and the losses and revere the soldiers that take the large fortresses. It needs to be designed in such a way that ones efforts do not feel in vain…. at least for just the week-long match. and the rate of change of hands of the large fortresses slows down and never gets capped during the off peak. an NPC army that you can hire for 5 hours or so that beefs up defence inside the castle for example. Anything to make the matches feel more conclusive and less transient.
The matches could easily have start game mid game end game phases with all sorts of ideas, mechanics, monsters from the past that have just recently appeared in the mists etc.
bump, some good text above worth reading on the front page.

“we basically wanted to take out the elems… spike… bunker? XD”
i like this guy already arena net ON THE BALL
1. Guild vs Guild
this is SUCH an awesome idea! full support!
2. Remove Way Points
I think its a preference thing, sure its immersing to actually take time to travel across land like in World of Warcraft but what if you want to run a dungeon and have to hoof it for 30 minutes before ‘yall’ can fight? I personally prefer wow immersion, being limited to real travel instead of insta teleport is really an unappreciated thing in mmos but unfortunately that’s not the kind of game arena is going for. When one is not doing dungeons i fully encourage everyone to walk the full distance to where you need to go its very immersive.
3. TPVP
i disagree, seperate tpvp is actually a new and innovative idea as it encourages players to play who havent invested there whole life just for some pretend armor. when everyones on a level playing field the skilled will automatically shine, this is an awesome core design for guild wars 2.
World vs World
while i agree that melee assist always on would be a CRAZY BRILLIANT IMMERSIVE see how large there army really is hardcore design, what happens with aoe and doorways? absolute cluster kitten and maybe even griefing sure it could discourage zerging… maybe if the melee assist option was like team fortress 2 where it only takes a very small amount of space to get around people. also ride the lightning gets messed up by melee assist so that would have to be fixed for moving targets.
other than that the rest of your ideas aren’t viable. a merge of NA and EU would send pings sky rocketing. maybe when the game has a few more years under its belt.
Buildings
This might work i agree that defending and keeping the watch, scouting the surrounding area of ones fort should be rewarded somehow… right now zerging is the most rewarded you are correct.
overall you have some good ideas but your punctuation is off for a formal suggestion.
(edited by yungwizud.1827)
I agree! large traps in keeps would make an awesome edition in an expansion.
whats stopping the opposite side from waiting a while until theyve all left and purging the keep quickly or during off peak? the extra points would be too much of a reward for not directly fighting! this would just encourage zerging and discourage direct confrontations more than they already are (see planetside 2)
i dont think your second idea is a very good idea.
Your right, having to face the same servers over and over does drag on. In order to push ones server into the next tier requires one to have to fight every single day after work.. sure you might have your victory eventually and push into the next tier. Now what? its the same thing again just a different named server never ending. What if you want to take a break from the game? sorry, the match times carry on without caring about the players. In order for people to put in a real investment to their server requires an unhealthy level of high-intensity play. It’s not healthy for your wrist muscles to be tense an entire 6 hour session with no stretch breaks, us gamers are athletes of the hands! we need just as much care as athletes to keep our circulation up, our hands warm and our tendon sheaths with no tension.
My suggestion? Make it one week everyone has a match and then the next week no one fights. this would encourage pushing with everything you’ve got and may even add some dynamics to the stagnant rankings by motivating lower ranked servers to make organized push of it… and knowing that all your hard work to push your server to greatness isn’t on the line because your burnt out and decide to take a break! It will also encourage more “night-shift” time-zone players to actually log on and give it their all after the week off, therefor increasing the intensity and ferocity of matches. Distance really does make the heart grow fonder and I think it would set guild wars 2 apart from the sea of other MMOs because the wvw idea is actually a great game idea but there’s no real sense of server progression when you can lose it all if you take a break. Arena have mentioned their ideal for the game is to not keep people tied to the treadmill with a subscription fee, players should be able to not feel guilty for leaving the game for a while! It’s in everyone’s best interests!
And I know the counter argument is something along the lines of “not everyone plays on the same schedule/timezone. what if i live in an off-peak time zone and I have a job that only lets me play GW2 at times only in the cool-down week? I wont be able to ever play wvw!”
Well my answer is if you live in an off-peak population timezone of the world, this scheme will help you as it boosts the amount of people interested in making a difference in wvw as they’’ll know they hold that spot in the rankings for a whole week (or for however long arena thinks would be best for this idea). If your job doesn’t let you play during the week where the matches are on then that’s the only issue, maybe arena could make it like daylight savings where the week switches from every first week to every second week or something like that I don’t know…
I hope arena actually read the suggestion forums this would change everything for the better.

i agree that hot join is very imbalancing! its a mentality thing some people go there to chill and test builds some cant stand losing and hop to a different server, someone above has suggested making it so you can only “hotjoin” a new and starting game and since the games are only like 10 minutes long at best i dont think you would get many leavers. I do not think its fair to enforce a leavers penalty like league of legends because arena net have designed hot join for drop in drop out first person shooter design so you can relax and fight a not so serious match. Therefore a “hotjoin new games only” would fix this as much as it can be fixed in my opinion! hopefully arena net sees this.
Everyone’s welcome to come to my home server! ^-^
does spectator mode include a birds eye view mode that is similar to popular e sport games?
I think if we get a “birds eye view spectation mode” where it didn’t follow any characters it could make it enjoyable to watch! I’t would still keep all the meta complexities of builds and team composition but with the laid back see it all view from top down games exactly like SC2 and league. question is do we get such a view mode and is it really needed to bring an MMORPG to e sport tier?
Honestly in the heat of battle i want nothing more than to wipe Borlis Pass off the face of the earth. whats it been now 10 matches pitted against one another? Then i take a break and think about what i’ve spent so much time participating in: Scouting, typing furiously fast, keeping the post and interacting with hundreds of people for a cause. ive realised that I love it and that i actually enjoy the rivalry between Anvil Rock and Borlis Pass thats sprouted up so early in the game. i think we should cherish this rivalry.. this spirit of ridiculous bloodthirst and ultimately.. fun competition. I hate to see us enraged accusing and bitter. we should all share in the fun and like my guild president once said, at the end of the day its a game and if your not having fun then by all means go and do your thing.
long hours has my guild spent keeping the watch over claimed land. sometimes i feel I spend an unhealthy amount of time in world verse world and its probably because i like so many others wants to feel this relaxed community vibe and to see the whole succeed.
the problem for us is clearly ‘off-peak’. during the night we have a small amount of friends to call upon… and our enemy marches always on us always with out tire. if this is anvil rock’s fate to fight only under the sun then so be it. better to push for the cause of a strong and stubborn community on Anvil that will hopefully last. build it slowly but surely and trust in the server you call home. yeah good as :d

thanks for replying drifter, glad others are feeling my sentiment!
Yes i know that the game has limitations however that is not what i am asking for. I am asking for leniance for role players and immersers. when you look on the world map its just a bunch of large squares everywhere, no effort was given to make the world map actually fit together and look realistic. this is what i am refering to by cliffs.
invisible walls are not limitations they are barriers. you have not been exploring as much as i have evidently because i happen across full stop’s everytime i climb a scalable looking rock that could get me to higher places.
exactly as it says in the title. The animation i am speaking of entails the player rising above the ground with the staff planted on the ground as support.. raining firey death to the masses. the male animation compared to that is lack luster, it looks as if the player is groping an invisible person quite tenderly…. that just needs to go. :I
im an explorer. i like to immerse myself in the game while combing the world with no rush. what really bothers me is say a mountain or hill that is just begging to be climbed. or maybe a secret crevice that could allow access onto a platau, something no one has seen before. areas littered with buildings etc.
why should there be an impedance on our exploration? its bad enough that every single map is surrounded by cliffs, it looks ridiculous but i let it slide. invisible walls are just a kick in the pants, please remove them.
glad to see Anvil rock is feeling better and steppin it up. feelsgoodman keep up the good challenge bp and gom!
sorrows furnace, you guys go hard in the paint. at least you aren’t blatant hackers like ehmry’s pass. it think it was last wednesday your commander led a zerg to hit the east side of our garrison. by far the most sinking stomach feeling ive ever had so far in game. 6 catapults i counted row upon row truly great coordination. and thats what anvil rock needs man, we need to get stronger and more populated. my guild SOS refuses REFUSES, to roll over and die. that is not an option. I do hope our fights grow ever challenging and thanks for posting.
wyrm all i ask is that you hold a little piece of server pride with you on your travels. anvil rock is a mighty name to fight for, all it needs is our mighty guilds back. they are much missed.
(edited by yungwizud.1827)
a week long fight is just fine. all is fair in love and war.
Defeats and cry’s of huge struggle are among the players of Guild Wars 2, but none are as tragic as the tale of Anvil Rock.
We who embarked with healthy-numbered, enthusiastic Guilds were hit match upon match by swamping defeats of green. Orbs of Power jimmied from our hands like mere pebbles. A disheartening sense not only of discontent but of guilt set in, for in order to vanquish her enemies Anvil Rock required greater skill, larger numbers, and a determination that was no where to be found… Yet.
It seems an easier ‘vent’ to blame ones brother then to even heed the notion of self reflection, and the players quarreled among themselves without first stepping back and seeing the greater vision. One by one, the players realised they were hitting a reinforced wall where a soothing meadow of fun ought to be… and the mighty guilds so full of potential, escaped to greener pastures. Who among us can blame them? As of yet balance has yet to be granted to the lands of the Ether and of my oppinion, it is subtle madness to deny reality.
All perceive flaws but few perceive the true nature of reality and that reality is suffering and love. We peoples of many boons are grand analyser’s and schemer’s yet seemingly all are plagued by disagreeance with suffering. I find it disheartening to watch the mass sheep mentality of ‘follow the strongest’, and remain unsuprised by the absoluteness of failure proclaimed by so many fellow. Arena Net have laid the brick work for a grand performance stage and you’ll never guess but you YES YOU, Traveller are the main supporting act! We are the creators. We are the warriors that will sing of our unrelent into the mire of failure. We are the Thomas Edisons who refuse to accept quitance even after a thousand blunders. Did you know that you grow stronger from experience? every new thought brings ever greatness to your one. Every defeat and every social alarm leaves in its mocking dust a humbleness that can only be found at the very bottom of the heap. The pressure of failure creates DIAMONDS out of humans that have the courage to get back up.
This is the mentality of an Anvil Rock.
Our soldiers congratulate each other in defeat. We praise ourselves merely for having the extrordinary boldness to hold back the thousands that stand in our way, the Tsunami of zerglings where no hope can be found. Every day we observe we adapt we fight to the last. Our masses have listened to the call and manned the death carts. Guilds such as SOS, CRFT, WILD and surely many other names I have not taken the time to find out. This message is a call to arms for all Anvil Rocks and also a plea to the Guilds that have left: Anvil Rock is not yet lost. even in our disarray we achieve second place two matches in a row! Stopping the likes of Sorrows Furnace in their tracks for 4 hours at the Gates of Dread Bay. The air amongst Anvil Rock’s is one of stubborness, like the yaks that carry our precious materials needed to mount Defense. Without those slow but sure there would be no metagame to speak of.
Take heed of my words and despair. I Sunchild, invoke the power of the one and I hope you enjoyed my tale. :)
