A little rude but he’s right, there’s no point in complaining for a known fact from 10 months ago

Why? If he still disagrees with it, he can complain. Lot of things in this game got fixed that way.

Not 4 days before release as ppl said the recipe was known if he had issues with it he could have given feebback months back. Now its too late.

Uh, I did give my feedback when it became public… it changed nothing. The power they had back then to change things they still have today. I understand why you like to think it is too late, but it never will be.

What exactly is it that you wish to change about the legandary armor?

No one asked to you farm anything in advance ppl do raids for rewards for the experience or w/e and li passively stack up so you cant do much about those but all the rest of the things requires is your choice to go and farm them

Fortunately it is a game. The burned fire and the water …. off-topic.

Is it the future model of Anet?
Y/N What’s your opinion ?

Illconceived Was Na.9781
Before of I create the 1st and 2nd and the 3rd generation of legendary weapon always have to watch skin quickly planning materials it is logical similar irrelevant

The question is simple nevertheless not?
Next armor will have you he use the same process for made made before and to see resulted him later?
Is it the future model of Anet?
Y/N What’s your opinion ?

my opinion is im not sure i myself have farmed everything for the legendary sword without a clue how it looks but then again i havent made anything final so if i am to be disappointed by it i can easily sell everything.

True but this is something you find out early enough after it happening once or twice. And its literally 1 button press.

You are absolutely right, but humans are like sheep to some extent. Therefore, this error happens a lot, even when you have made the mistake before — sometimes you are too eager or too preoccupied to notice. So having the game engine solve the issue in a way by taking over the thinking for you wouldn’t hurt.

You are right as well. But if it was such big issue that bothered so many then there would be many more threads like this one with some kind of answer from the devs. Tbh i hope a devs can clarify if this is easy to change or not but i also tell you a way to not get that problem again already exists.

When on character select screen you show up in location unknown

But not everyone is looking at that. They just get the chat notification that the person is online and hurry to address them (maybe they have been waiting for them etc.). It would solve the problem if people who are in the character selection screen wouldn’t be displayed as “[…] is now online” until they have entered a map.

When on character select screen you show up in location unknown so if someone wants to tell you something they can see if you are in game or in character select.

I mean, are you really gonna defend this? do you really have everyone you whisper on your contacts list/guild, and you’re seriously going to notice every time? it’s impossible to know when a whisper has failed without eyeballing their location

Im not defending anything i dont really whisper to other unless i want to say something and they are infornt of me or where a second ago or if they talk to me first. And yes, whoever i have a fun or efficient run in fractals or raids i usually add. ^^

I usually whisper to my friends and guildies and yes i press Y see if they are online and i take a quick look at location to see if they are in the game (when on char select they also dont show ay character name just the acount name so thats also giving it away.

But i suppose they can make it so ppl that whisper players which are on character select recieve the messege you get when you whispering someone whos not online. But then again its not the be all and end all.

Yah I certainly understand the sentiment that ppl who cheat/shortcut doesn’t deserve it too. But it’s a weakness in term of game design that allow them to exploit it. Not to mention Anet put buying runs on grey area.

The CM, few months ago. 4-5 months may be, I didn’t keep count. I assume you asking this because it has been nerfed.
I stop playing not long after HoT came out, i couldn’t really help it. I get nausea every time I visit HoT maps. Even after I came back, I try to avoid those maps as much as i could. C’est la vie … I don’t like HoT expansion in general.

Its not a flawed design its a choice to do it slower but easier. Also well even wow had bought runs back in the day. And also since what i suggest is diff skins the fact that the raiding one is still the hardest to get still remains unchanged and it carries its value regardless of the number of diff legendary armors that specific one is the raiding one and that specific one is the hardest or one of the harder.

What GW 2 could learn from BotW

Hi folks,

as a really long Guild Wars and Zelda fan I was really happy when Nintendo decided to go back to open worlds for their franchise. Now, after the initial hype has cooled down a bit I am really eager to discuss if Arena Net could learn something from Nintendos newest sucess for their nearer or further future. Because regardless what you may personally think of that game, one of the highest scores on Metacritic and almost 4 Million Sales in the first month are a benchmark that tells its own story.

Well, I am well aware that one game is a MMO and the other one a singleplayer adventure, so why do I want them to compare nevertheless? Because while playing BotW I realized that the developers took a whole lot of concepts which are also present in Guild Wars 2. And just adapted them to match their concept. So I asked myself the question if this could be done the other way around……

If you do not believe my word, here are some concepts from Guild Wars 2 which are also present in Zelda BotW:

- Enviromental Weapons: While that concepts was kind of scratched in GW2, Nintendo has pushed it to the limit. Every enemy drops its weapon, which can be picked up by you or other enemies. The game goes so far that the environment itself (tress, stones, rocks and even grass …. GRASS…..) can be transformed into a deadly weapon.

Nope. More profession weapons, slot skills and traits are what’s needed.

- Weapon skills: While Zelda do not have skills in a traditional sense, every weapon type has it own characteristics, strengths and attacks you can perform with it. There is also a simple combo system like frozen enemies can be pushed further (an example that was advertised for GW2 but sadly never realized ….) or you can create a fire to generate an uplift to push yourself into the air with a glider (which I want really badly to also be a feature in gw2 ……)

Nope. We already have combo fields.

- Dynamic events: Ok the zelda system is really barebone in this regard. But still – on your adventures you run into fellow hylians who are under attack by monsters or into a miniboss which comes out of nowhere etc.

Nope. GW2 has great events, and I doubt that game does events better than this game.

- Cooking: Obviously not the system itself, but in both games you mainly cook by putting “fitting” ingredients together and look what it will become.

Nope. We have an extensive crafting system already.

Bolded responses…

We don’t need the devs to waste time and resources on any of the stuff you listed in this post or the other one.

i wouldnt mind the immersiveness of botw crafting system or ff14’s for that matter

I’m sure the devs could add a thousand layers of immersion to every aspect of the game, but that means they would need to make major sacrifices to the really important things this game needs and is lacking in.

tell me one of those things they are focushing on now?

You didn’t understand my statement.

If i understand correctly u meant they could but there are many more importand things they should work on that the game needs no?

Raiders do raids because they enjoy them because the rewards are decent etc. I doesnt have to be a matter of difficulty but also a matter of time investment (but i wouldnt mind doing a series of 100cm’s types of fractals or even harder to get it). Funnily enough id argue pvp has less ppl playing lol. I am ok with not getting that particullar set even tho id love to have the medium armor and the light one. Again im not suggesting the same thing in other parts im suggesting diff forms of it in diff parts so if you like that particular set this is the way to take it. Also wvw and pvp having legendary armor thats a huge incentive to play it long term. Same with fractals.

Raiders are usually associated with exclusivity, ie. high tier, end game gears. “Decent Rewards” won’t get many playing even with good game play mechanic due to the grinding nature of raid for it’s associated reward.
I was raider for years, not in this game though. Trust me, no one is going to grind over decent rewards.

How does wvw is going to have difficult nature beside time investment? running around with train, kill and flipping nodes.
Spvp with high rating, yes.

Fractal is the new dungeon, it’s not going to have an exclusive legendary armor set attached to it. I can see legendary trinkets on it though, like backpack.

Open world pve? what? kill 10,000,000 Mordrem Sniper?

Highly unlikely they are going to open up access to legendary armor for non raider.
They are for sure not going to come up with new seperate set anytime soon too.

why not? The end game goal for gw2 is basically get enough gold and raids are a good source of gold for once per weeb also there are unique skins which you cant get anywhere else titles etc

Raid is not only source of gold. Raiders are also required to consistently beat mechanic which deemed to be hard and challenging in a consistent basis. It takes lots of coordination, skills and massive time investment to be specific. Excluding ppl that cheat and buy run of course.
It would be hard to replicate that level of challenge outside raid.
spvp high rating may be, but that’s the only one.

Well honestly seeing the skins I dont mind them being tied to raids, let us craft blank legendary armor pieces and skin them ourselfs in other game modes bam easy to implement.

Very interesting idea.

U should give raids a shot because the majority of bosses arent hard. I could argue the bosses in saw in wing 1 were as hard the first time as doing 100 cm for the first time.

Yes, I know it’s nowhere near as hard as what i used to get back in wow (vanilla, tbc and wotlk) and rift days. Because i’ve tried it. I have some Li in my currency bags. Was invited by ingame pre-HoT fractal friends when i came back from post HoT rage quit hiatus. I was pretty much still rusty and sorta got carried jumping straight into it without looking/researching fights much. My mind wasn’t there, i couldn’t commit, sensory overload element of the game that i hated (reason i can’t get into pvp in this game) and one thing lead to another … I pretty much screw up. The rest is history.
I don’t find it enjoyable, may be it’s my age, high latency or I’m still rusty. I dunno, I hated VG @ beta and still do.
I one shotted 100CM with pug on first attempt. It’s not hard, yes.
I know it’s not as hard as it looks. But there is certainly a reasonable big gap between raid and anything outside.

True but difficulty isnt the only thing that deserves of the legendary armor its also time commitment wvw doesnt have a way to show if someone is the best of teh best nor do fractals but both can so whos spend countless hours in them. With that being said there are ppl that only do certain bosses each week namely the easiest ones in raids so they sure as hell dont deserve the armor any more than ppl who clear all the raids each time and yet they will get theirs. Also may i ask you did 100 cm the day it came out ?

Why should ANET invest anything into WvW? Even if all the WvW players put in 5USD each once a year it’d still be negligible. Probably still not enough to put in the effort for Legendary Armor.

The normal game mode’s max capacity at a single time is only ~28,000. Split that up into the 5 significant time zones then maybe you have 120,000 WvW players…but I doubt it. At least Eotm is effectively uncapped.

WvW has no system in place to make it profitable, so I can see why changes are sparse. It probably manages to only pay for 3 people a year.

I cant w8 for the time to come when someone will say why should anet invest in y gamemode that happens to be your favourite. WvW is still 1 third of this game and before launch was one of the biggest selling points. It deserves the same amount of attention as the rest if not more

I like how you have a list of things that these classes bring but to bring those they lose on other stuff. And now only warr can stack 25 might. And yes their personal dps is abyssmal (with the exception of burnzerker which atm is broken) All 3 classes can be replaced if new elite specs can do the same stuff ( a symbol quickness guard a might stackig thief) For druid its either give to other gotl or flat out remove it. Oh and make spirits on ranger 10 man buff.

I find it offensive to tell to the devs “nobody will buy your game if this really good feature isnt there” I would buy the game regardless because im invested in the story i loved what elite specs did and it generally gave me alot of hours of fun.

With that being said having the ability to buy build templates for all gamemodes from the gemstore and have 1 gifted to us with the expac would be an amazing thing. But still i will buy the expac regardless.

Yea but no one cares that you find it offensive because of the 4.5M people who bought GW2, less than a million of them have bought HoT. If Anet just keeps making you happy by continuing to dole out story, they won’t survive. You want your story? Tell Anet to listen to the 3.5M people who quit playing there game between GW2 and HoT.

There’s nothing particularly offensive about saying, “This is the feature that would convince me to give you more money, and without it I’m likely to play other games instead.”

Like…I’m about to go play Overwatch right now instead of GW2, because i find that the character classes in that game are actually balanced, and I’m enjoying the minimal progression system. If GW2 wants me to reinvest in their game instead of just play Overwatch till Crowfall or Ashes of Creation come out, they need to have balanced classes and make the game more casual and solo friendly—or promise as much in an x-pac.

The game even pre hot didnt pass more than 500k players online on regular bases. The fact that the expansion sold less than the base game means that ppl that bought the base game lost interest in it and moved on. The loyal fans of the game that play it regularly they bought the game but who ever quit it before did the same now.

The real issue with raiding as a raider...

Dunno what you what to blame me for. I never said Anet should stop developing content for PvP/WvW/RP/other PvE stuff. And nothing stops ppl of playing these things because there is an existence of raids.

Didn’t you know that when your favorite restaurant adds one “side” item to the menu that you don’t like, for some reason your favorite meal tastes worse? (just a joke guys :P)

No, i take offence in what you said :P

I prefer a thousand times raids fractal updates and gen 2 legendaries over profession themed legendary armor. The best i could hope for is for other partsof the game to get their legendary amor wvw>pvp>fractals> open world and dugeons maybe?

range of dmg of the weapons he means x-y dmg and that will also make your skill dmg differ from use to use just like what fatalyz said

Would you want to see any changes to Courtyard before it came back? A new mechanic, perhaps?

Could you try to make it in beta as an arena style map? Maybe reduce its size abit make it 3 man q or or idk 1v1 or 2v2 and remove resses and respawns. Also make it a best of 3.

It might be quite abit of work but im interested to see how the community will take an arena map.

If community request since 2012 are the requirement for features in the next expansion (which surely already has been finalized), then housing, mounts, Open World PvP and a plethora of other things must be included, as well.

Jus’ saying….

AFAIK Build Templates seems to be the only one of those without vocal detractors. Maybe housing too?
Mounts are despised by a very vehement group, through good arguments, insulting shouts and horse beating gifs; and I’m sure I don’t have to point the classic reaction to proposals of Open World PvP…

i dont understand whats so bad about mounts?

Screen clutter and how ridiculous (imo) it would be to see them in the open world. They’re also largely unnecessary as we have WP’s and speed buffs.

they dont create screen cluter in other mmos who would they here?

can anyone give a noob some advice

Quite a few of the ls3 maps are sol friendly and quite fun to traverse with their respectable masteries. But be warned if didnt log in the past few months some of the episodes will be only buy to play.

Honestly surprised that it took so long. I was expecting all the rarer mats required for lege armor to spike within hours of the announcement.

True like the drop there was with the leather hours after the announcement.

Yeah, im pretty much done with the asinine logic being presented here by the we want an easy mode crowd.

I’m sorry but when i’ve raided with people who have some serious debilitating conditions and those who can’t make a set schedule all the “excuses” being used are laughable.

It’s time to stop making excuses and just raid. Seriously.

And again to address the topic properly, i do agree there’s a problem with group finding but this is symptomatic of the entire games base design. Remember LFG didn’t even exist at launch (for all you saying how casual this game is). I’ve see better casual designs from F2P (cashgrabs) that have better Guild/Group finding tools than this game has current and had prior to its inception.

If you do not want to be a part of the conversation, that is fine.

But we all need to do a better job of not belittling the opinions of others (and we all have to accept that our personal stances are just that – opinions).

Again, I accept that – from perspectives like yours – there is little issue here. Truth is, I play the game differently than you do. And that is true of many others as well. A single raid mode doesnt work for everyone. It isnt about excuses. It is about legitimately believing multiple modes would improve the game for those people (while having no real impact on how people like you enjoy the game).

But, I respect that you feel differently. I even respect that you feel there is no issue here at all.

I respectfully disagree and definitely see the need to continue making that point on the forums.

Raids are what ppl do that play the game differently than you.

good think they mainly dont focus on raids then eh? ^^

If only that were true.

Good thing it is

Hmmm let’s see: 4 raid wing versus 5 LS updates and many fractal updates + 2 new fractals + caladbolg update. Yes good thing it is

So, a single side content meant for a small subgroup of players gets comparable rate of updates as everything else in this game together.
Yeah, they surely don’t focus on it at all [/sarcasm].

Comparable? What are you on about. Nine months separate wing 3 from wing 4 lol

You were the one that choose the content to compare, not me. Interesting how you changed your argument as soon as you were pointed out what your comparison means in terms of content importance.

it literally just a bunch of boss fights tuned for 10 players, its a small team. I agree they are efficient, and consistent, but that is not a high bar. Your real complaint should be, why cant anet deliver new content consistently that is as satisfying as raids appear to be for their constituency, with much greater resources.

i think they said raid team is 5 people? 5 people isnt even 5% of their staff.

Raid creators just know their audience and can give them the essence of what they want.

And yet each lw release is 2-3 days tops worth of content.
