I honestly think what’s hurting Blackgate and stopping them from getting these big Xfers was all the forum warrior kitten-talk done all those months ago, and again recently before their second jump to T1. It wasn’t done by any big name or respectable guilds, but done by the overzealous guys who troll forums more than they WvW. Would you bring your top-tier guild to a server that trashed talked and then couldn’t deliver?

Allow me to correct your misconceptions about Blackgate. What hurt Blackgate was the “forum-warrior” “kitten-talk” done against us. In our first week of T1, shortly into the matchup, an individual ‘hacked’ one of the orbs of power. Note I said individual. This is key. The entire server did not ‘hack’ an orb. One player did. This is something that most folks we were playing against could not seem to grasp.

Then the smear campaign started. At the time, our guilds were using strategy that T1 guilds had not seen at that point. Turtling/portal bombs, etc. Things that are now considered normal strategy. The problem was, nobody in T1 had apparently seen these tactics used before. When they saw a mesmer portal used properly, players immediately flocked to the forums claiming that those strategies were hacks and exploits. Our first week in T1, every single day multiple threads were created claiming that Blackgate had hacked something else, when clearly we had not. A few days into the matchup, we lost multiple guilds because they were tired of all the unfounded hate. A few of our larger WvW guilds transferred to SOS at that time.

You guys recall that bug that would occur when the orb carrier would drop the orb so another player could pick it up, and the orb’s location would disappear from the map? We on Blackgate certainly do. That itself was a source of roughly 20 different threads over the span of 3 days started by SBI players who didn’t understand that what they were seeing was the result of a bug. Something that no player from any side had any control over. SBI and JQ had apparently never had a mesmer hide inside of a base and wait out patrols, so they could portal in a group of people to retake the base, which is a common strategy now, and why base sweeps are considered mandatory.

Every day for weeks, anyone who came to the forums saw multiple threads titled things like “Blackgate hacks again” “Blackgate is a server of cheaters” “Blackgate steals orb” “Blackgate mesmer exploits Bay”. Some of those threads still exist on the forums, if you look far back enough, you can find them.

So, person I’m quoting: Blackgate did not ruin its reputation. Other people did that for us. Most of the folks who tried to talk sense into the mindless masses and present the facts of the situation had their posts reported and removed. I have personally received 17 forum infractions for trying to defend my server. The problem of the entire situation was that nobody bothered to let the facts get in the way of their opinions. I see that you are doing the exact same thing.

Karma always wins in the end. Look at SBI and all of their “forum warriors” now. They’ll be lucky to stay in T2 for more than another week before they drop to T3.

I dont want to see my server in 3rd place. Nobody on Blackgate does. But… I’m realistic. I do not see guilds transferring to Blackgate. I do however see guilds transferring to JQ and SOS. Neither of those 2 servers needed anymore guilds. You two already had the best coverage of all the other servers. Any more transfers to those two servers is just overkill at this point.

Deleted posts. I apologize. I will admit I’m quick to jump to the defense of my server. I don’t mean to be that way, but I’m day #2 Blackgate. I’ve seen all the drama since Orbs were a factor. I’ve tried just as hard as everyone else to make this server a contender and sometimes the attitudes toward us bother me.

Just a few hours into the match and already we have condescending attitudes toward Blackgate. You all can kindly stop that junk now. Never in this history of this game has Blackgate fought for 2nd place. We always go for #1.

SoS, you all shouldn’t talk, considering most of the bandwagon guilds we had moved to your server after our first week in T1, [Agg] being the largest of them.

JQ – I have nothing bad to say. Your guilds fight with honor and are a pleasure to meet in battle. I just hope you realize this isn’t the same Blackgate you fought a few months ago.

We all know in a match like this, the war doesn’t start until Monday. Let’s try to keep scoreboard posturing and trolling attitudes to a minimum. After 2 months against SoR, pretty safe to say all of us are sick of trolls who talk a big game and can’t hurt us on the scoreboard. If trolling is all you can bring to this discussion, I hear cracked.com is looking for people for their comment section.

We’ve won for 5 weeks in a row, most of the time by a pretty large margin. This match isn’t even fun anymore. We’ll win again next week and it still won’t be much fun.

SoR can say whatever they want, but until they beat us on the scoreboard, nothing they say matters.

This might just be my opinion, but the fight against TC and FA a while ago was one of the best ones that BG ever had. To be completely honest, the current match between SoR and IoJ had its moments, but after 5 weeks it’s been getting boring playing the same servers.

Hey creators of GW2 and people of the forums! I think this is the appropriate place to post this.

I’d like to request/suggest an Off Topic Forum. It would be a place where GW2 players could come together and discuss anything! Movies, TV, Books, Computers, Cars, whatever you can think of! The reason for my suggestion is that having a place where the players can share interests really helps with building a strong community. There have been off topic forums in other games I’ve played, and they’re usually filled with helpful information. I’ve found answers to computer problems, received great recommendations for new books to read and movies to check out, and I and many others have made good friends thru some of the conversations we had on the forums about random stuff.

Thank you for reading my suggestion! As a token of my appreciation for making such a great game and taking my suggestion into consideration, here is a nice picture of a Tyrannosaurus Rex piloting a F-16.

I was running around in WvW the other day shooting critters because our opponents weren’t around. After getting a full adrenaline bar, I used Kill Shot on a rabbit.

I hit it for 324,768. Also got my rank 7 overkill achievement in the process.

Just think of it like this: If a mesmer is noobish enough to have Moa on his bars instead of time-warp, then all he is doing is gimping his team with a crappy 3 minute elite skill lasts for a whole 15 seconds and only affects 1 player who can then just run away til it wears off. >.>

I have to agree with these kind of statements. The weekend play is generally where coverage issues matter the least because most people aren’t working, or for the younger players, in school.

Last I checked, we are still winning. He is out there working his kitten off every day. You only continue to lose respect from the community by trying to drive wedges between players. You’ve spoken about the greatness and exceptionalism of Blackgate, yet you are the first one to take the most negative stance on any situation. Not every battle ends in glory, but he keeps coming back. That earns him respect in my book.

Lots of respect to some of the off-hours commanders on BG. Always making the best of the situations they’re in. I cant help but smile sometimes when I get into BGBL late-morning and Fray and April Bonnie are still taking bases despite being outmanned.

I honestly think that Blackgate has the 4 best WvW guilds of any server. KnT, HB, ICoa and Urge. They all have great commanders capable of flipping entire maps and changing the pace of the fight. I love the fact that their commanders are pug-friendly, so everyone fighting for Blackgate feels like they have a purpose in the fight, even if they are just running supply or scouting the south of the map.

The BG WvW community is a great place to be.

I haven’t had much time to play this week, so I wasn’t around when SoR hacked whatever they hacked, and I wasn’t on when my server hacked whatever it was. However, I will say this: I have a mesmer that I have successfully hidden inside a base for nearly an hour. I watched a few folks from SoR run right by the spot I was hiding in. And yes, I eventually ported a group inside. And yes, we took the keep. So just throwing that out there. Maybe you all didn’t clear the keep as well as you’d thought. The first week of T2, I hid inside DB on my mesmer. I swam behind a group of IoJ’s that were “searching” the water, and they never knew I was back there.

To the people calling us hackers and saying our server as a whole is made up of cheaters: What would you have us do? We don’t have the power to ban, as players. All we can do is report and move on. Maybe remove the person from whatever guild they were in. But, most of you are acting like we as a server should boycott the rest of the week because of 1 person’s actions.

I R WARRIOR. I use sword/axe and usually rifle. I have tried other weapon builds, but have found that sword/axe is generally the best choice. You have your auto-attack-cleave. You have a gap closer on a 8 second CD. You have a cripple. You have a good dmg single target attack which procs fury, and best of all, a spinny aoe blender that you can actually move while using.

Last night I got jumped by 2 thieves, 1 d/d and 1 p/d. One was actually 80 and geared, the other was scaled up. I bullrush one and use my spinny axe thingy. 1 thief down. As I have a lot of toughness/vitality, I was able to lazily auto attack the downed thief until he died while the 80/geared thief -attempted- to attack me. This thief kept switching between p/d and shortbow. Neither did much damage to me and I was able to stay on top of him with sword #2 and bullrush. He finally gave up and tried to run away, but i busted out the rifle and #3’d him. Dead thief.

So yea. Dont use a greatsword I guess. I did for a long time, but the more I used it the more it seemed mostly ineffective unless you’re trying to escape, and even then sword is better cuz of the shorter cooldown. And you can use your sword #2 to jump across gaps you couldnt normally clear cuz you jump a bit farther. Lets not forget that 100b is one of the easier abilities to avoid. I used to crush noobs with it, but most good players will just … move. >.>

After spending about 15 minutes waiting on the overflow LA, I finally get to my server. Immediately upon entering I say in map chat, “All available people please report to WvW, we greatly need help.” Right away the flaming begins. A few minutes later I have a conversation with the leader of one of Blackgate’s largest Aussie guilds. He informs me that they are essentially boycotting WvW until Anet does something to address the lack of rewards for participation. I spoke to the leader of another guild who said basically the same thing and added that the culling issues and disappearing siege are really ruining the experience for a lot of the players in his guild, so they wont be playing until it gets fixed. These are two guilds that regularly participated in WvW and did quite well, and now they refuse to play.

My friend list used to list a bunch of people doing WvW. Now it lists a bunch of people running fractals. As someone who only does pvp/wvw, I find this all to be very sad. C’mon Blackgate, step it up. Follow the good commanders, ignore the terrible ones, and if no commander is on, DEFEND DEFEND DEFEND.

Have you been on in the past 10 minutes, or did you just randomly post? We’re at +330 at our weakest time in the day.

In an upcoming patch the WvW capture points will be updated to follow the same rules as the PvP capture points with respect to invisibility & invulnerability. As a result invisible & invulnerable players will no longer contest capture points.

As a necro, you should have a staff or a ground-targeting aoe spell of some sort.

Here’s what you do: bust out your staff. Press #2-5 one time. Your large green targeting circle comes up. Do not activate the skill, just leave the targeting circle up. You can use the circle to kind of map out the area around you, seeing changes in elevation, where platforms are located, etc.

I dont know if that makes sense, but try it once and I think you’ll see what I mean.

I feel kinda bad for SoS. Doesn’t matter how well you all are doing this week, no matter what happens, win or lose, you all still wont be considered legit. If you do win, SBI and JQ will blame it on fractal dungeons and Thanksgiving, attempting to trivialize your victory. If you somehow manage to lose at this point, you will be labeled as a bandwagon server.

Also, I heard that [Agg] is on your server now. I’d been wondering where our biggest WvW guild went. Funny that they bail on us when we hit T1, and now that they’re on your server, you’re in T1. Did [TDA] transfer there as well?

Anyway, Unless JQQ steps it up next week, looks like Blackgate will be back in T1 sooner than we thought.

Cool video, HB. I can see myself spinning across the screen a few times, like a little red blender Honestly, that night was the most fun I’d had doing WvW so far. Epic fights as far as the eyes could see, assuming players rendered.

Overall, this week has been pretty sweet. The other night when SoR was hitting BG Garrison at 3 different gates at once…. Epic. A few fights this week have been kinda ruined by rendering issues tho. There was one time in particular, Blackgate has around 25 people hitting north inner gate @ SH. Someone shouts out “INC from behind!” So, I turn around and don’t see anyone. We got wiped out. Now, in the downed state and eventually defeated, I finally see the people who killed us. As much as I enjoy frantically tabbing around to try to find an opponent, I do hope it gets fixed soon.

SoR & IoJ – Keep it coming, this battle has been more enjoyable than our 3 weeks in T1. I don’t think I’m wrong in saying that T2 isn’t far behind T1 as far as player skill and desire to have fun is concerned (coverage.. well.. another story for another day :P). You guys show us everytime you step on the battlefield, you’re there to bring it.

Day #2 Blackgate player here. (No, I didnt get the game on day #1)

I picked Blackgate cuz I called one of my friends who got the game and asked what server he played on. Safe to say, I’m not a bandwagon player.

Let me give OP the proper Blackgate story. We had potential because we had a very strong NA presence, but basically no EU or Oceanic presence. So we tried to recruit a few guilds to help out with the times we didn’t have the best coverage. As luck would have it, we got the guilds we needed. We had a fun fight against TC and FA. We won, and earned the nickname “Beastgate” because of our coverage and ferocious offense. Also because we had a habit of rolling in a zerg made up of every player in WvW at that given time. We moved up a tier and spent the next 2 weeks fighting against 2 servers that were dead. I think the second week we had over 600,000 points. But… because there was nothing to do, people started to leave.

We move up to T1. The very first day of the match, a player from our server “hacked” an orb. Forum drama ensued. We were in first place for the weekend. Then SBI’s oceanic force showed up and capped every point on every map overnight. Between the forum drama and the simple demoralization that happens when you lose everything you had, one of our big guilds left. We finished the week in 2nd place.

The next week, the same drama continued, and our server was getting sick of being labeled as a server of hackers because of a single incident involving a single person. Or a server of exploiters because the T1 guilds believe it or not, had never seen a group use a mesmer portal before. >.> Anyway, midway thru the week, a large group of our oceanic population left for SBI because that is where most of their friends played. And thats around the time the rest of our bandwagon guilds left, and a lot of players just got tired of fighting the same 2 servers for 3 weeks. We finished the last 2 matches in 3rd place and now we’re in T2.

But dont act for one minute like Blackgate is a dead or dying server. Ask SBI or JQ. We may lack 24/7 coverage now, but we can still hang with the best. We have great commanders and great PVPers overall. We still have some of the best WvW guilds in all of GW2.

Yeah, the culling issues are annoying, but sometimes really funny. I’ll try to give a few examples. Kinda wish I had taken screenshots, but I never think to do it until its too late Anyway….

The other day I’m on my warrior in BGBL, as usual. One of the commanders I tend to run with had a group by Astral and I was on my way to meet up with them from Citadel Waypoint. I noticed the flag just north of Cliffside had been taken and I figured I’d try to take it back on my way to Astral. As I get closer, I only see one player and the Vet Guard and think, oh this’ll be easy. I charge the player and no joke, the second I hit him about 20 other people rendered. I had to laugh as they all jumped me and I died. Makes me wonder what they were thinking. “Oh look a dumb warrior thinks he can take us all, lololol.”

Earlier, in BGBL, a group of about 10 of us had taken Cliffside and were immediately attacked by a large group from JQ. We fought for a bit, pushing them back to garrison and then they’d push back to Cliff… As we were fighting between Cliff and Garrison, I noticed that as we moved back and forth, the whole group would disappear and reappear. As in, you’d be shooting at someone and you could see the entire group, but if you took a single step forward, the entire group would disappear. Maybe it was lag and not culling, but it was pretty funny to see it either way

SoS, i hate to rain on your parade, but you will probably hate T1.

You are not prepared for the SBI overnight zerg, or JQ’s early morning push. Unless you have good coverage 24/7, your stay in T1 will be short, at best.

I dont care how loyal you think your guilds are, I bet if you start losing you see mass transfers, like every other server that has made it to T1 and then started to lose. In week 2, a lot of our guilds mass transferred to SBI, so now their nighttime coverage is even better >.>

Oh btw, do anything that either server hasnt seen before and you will be branded as hackers and exploiters.

A lot of the posts are telling people to Learn2Play, which I guess is pretty typical behavior on the internet. But, despite the harsh way people go about saying it, in this case, it really is the most practical advice.

I mostly play WvW. My 2 80’s are a warrior and a necro. I have a low 30’s mesmer and a lowbie engineer. I wasn’t very interested in playing a thief because my main character on Warcraft was a Rogue, and I played that for like 7 years. But one thing in WvW was bugging me: thieves preventing bases from capping. First time I saw it was a few weeks ago, there were about 15 of us at Gods, trying to re-cap the base, but we were unable to cuz of a thief. We finally managed to kill him, but that dude wasted like 10 minutes of our time, and we had other points under attack that needed defending.

So I learned2play. I rolled a thief and leveled it high enough to where I could do the same thing. Now, I know what a thief has to do to maintain his stealth. I know what to look for.

Helpful hint – Keep an eye on ranger pets. A lot of the time, a thief will hit a ranger’s pet to re-stealth. Look for a little black puff of smoke, that means the thief has just stealthed at that location. Even when your group is stacked up, sometimes a pet will be just far enough off to the side that it can be hit without entering into the aoe spam.

T1 is in a sad state. What a disappointment it will be for whoever replaces us next week.
Before we got to T1, I was hyped up for the challenge of facing what was believed to be the 2 best servers and thus, the best competition. Now, in the 3rd week, it is obvious this is not the case.

SBI – You aren’t winning because of superior tactics, better or more skilled players, or better leadership. Your zerg is just bigger than everyone else’s. An entire server basically riding the coattails of their 1 big pvp guild WM, and the fact they are the only server with any major oceanic presence. You’ve got people on your server who come to the forums bragging that their 30 man force drove back our 10 man force. Well, I’d certainly hope your 30 man squad could handle a whole 10 people, otherwise that would say a lot about the level of skill you possess. BG is basically fielding teams on BGBL and EBG. We have less than 20 people on JQBL or SBIBL at any given time, but these are the places you always hear about “SBI steamrolling BG”.
SBI also has the vast majority of the bandwagon WvW guilds that used to be on BG. Its been pretty obvious in the fights during NA primetime. So yeah, all those people you spent the first 2 weeks insulting..? Thats right, they’re on your server now.

JQ – If your leaders were even semi-intelligent, you all would be pushing hard against SBI, as the only way you all can come in first place this week is by denying them points. But this will not happen. JQ will once again put in minimal effort for the rest of the week to come in 2nd place, because fighting SBI (and I quote JQ players here) would be “too hard”. Thats a great attitude to have in a competitive setting.

So yes, enjoy your stay in T1, whoever is next in line for it. Any effort you put into siege and upgrading towers during the day will be for nothing as SBI’s korean presence will easily snatch up anything your skeleton crew is trying to defend. Thats not demoralizing at all. Putting time and effort into taking over a map for hours just to have all your effort go to waste when you have to go to sleep. Then all of their NA players will rush to the forums to take credit for something they had nothing to do with. As for JQ, well, dont pay much attention to them. They’re only fighting to stay in T1, not for first place. :P

Proof of what? I see a screenshot of a guy inside a keep that has had its inner and outter gates breached many times since reset. I see nothing in the screenshot that shows he got in there through hacks.

Yeah, you’re telling me a GUARDIAN used his permanent stealth spells to hide inside an inner keep that was sweeped and patroled by multiple people? Ok, now back to reality land

So basically, what you’re saying is you all did a terrible job of clearing your keep after it was attacked, and you allowed a guardian to hide inside.

I was one of the people hoping for a different matchup this week. I suppose its my own fault for not understanding the rating system. I had just assumed whatever server was #3 moved down a tier so I thought JQ was gonna be swapped out for someone else.

The weekend was fun and we hung in pretty well for the first few days but then the next day I log on and SBI has like a 25k lead. Overnight. Apparently the majority of our late night/early morning crew transferred off.

Still had some fun fights, but it seemed like every time I went to any battleground we were -vastly- outnumbered. Except for EBG of course, which almost always had a queue.

I hope we fight someone different next week. I dont even care who. Just anyone not JQ or SBI. No offense intended, but 2 weeks of the same two opponents just isnt very interesting. I haven’t really played much this week because of it.

Being in a group seems to help more with drops in my experience. I can stack up all the magic find buffs (banners, food, booster, etc) and go farm, but I have never really noticed a significant increase in rare drops. Lets say I run across The Cursed Shore, participate in events and kill whatever random mobs I come across solo, I’ll usually end up with a few greens, blues, maybe a yellow. But if I join up with another 4 people in the middle of the Plinx farming group, I’ll see a major increase in not only the number of drops, but seemingly the quality of the drops as well.

Maybe its just my perception or RNG playing tricks on me, but I walked away from Plinx farming with like 4 yellow weapons (which I magic forge’d into a exotic greatsword!) and 1 piece of exotic light armor. Still got the usual greens and blues too. While in a group, of course.

Ugh, what happened to our server? We had good coverage on all maps a few weeks ago, now I’m lucky to see anyone outside of BGBL and EBG.

I was in SBIBL earlier today and we had a whole 5 people. Seriously, where did everyone go? There are a few guilds in particular that I havent seen at all this week. Someone said one of our main oceanic guilds left for SBI so they could play with their friends, which I can understand, but they really f’d us over as a team.

This was a strange week for WvW. I know that all 3 servers probably were missing a bunch of players due to the storms/power outages on the east coast. There are definitely a lot of players I normally see that havent been around this week, same goes for a few of our usual commanders, all EST players. Halloween didnt help much, I know a lot of people that werent able to play due to parties/taking kids out trick or treating.

I do appreciate the fact that you attribute your win to the Korean players. You all will probably always win due to oceanic coverage, unless another server gets a large influx of oceanic players that can match up. I know Blackgate has 1 large oceanic guild, but not enough players to cover all 4 maps. Lets be honest here, most of the fights in the morning/afternoon/primetime could go either way (and they have, if the score is any proof). But I dont see any server being able to match up with the SBI-overnight zerg.

SBI – I salute you all and look forward to another week of challenging fights. Blackgate lost a few bandwagoners this week. What that means is the people left are the core of the server, the real fighters. Keep that edge you have sharp, dont lose your focus or let your guard down for a second. We aren’t fighting for 2nd or 3rd. We’re coming for the #1 spot.

@SBI – Enjoying all of your new transfer guilds? Hope you guys like being the new bandwagon server. Surely now you’ll have some orb-hackers. LoL @ SBI becoming the next Blackgate, or rather, turning into what they hated most.

@JQ – Mostly enjoyed the fights vs you guys, but what happened? Once SBI made their comeback you all disappeared. Like last night, every map was blue or red but only EB had any real green presence.

As a player on BG, I’m sorry about the issues that transpired regarding the orbs. I hope you guys know that if the core of the WvW players on BG could do something about it, we would. Please know that the majority of players on BG hate it as much as you do, no matter the source.

I just wish people would quit saying that Blackgate is a server full of hacks/exploiters because of the 1 or 2 people actually doing it. We just want good and fair fights, all day and all night.

At this point, I wish they’d just flag the hackers as free-for-all so I could kill them first. >.<

Its pretty easy to turn a profit in WvW, just dont expect to get 100g quickly or something.

I think a lot of it is smart playing. I mostly WvW on my warrior, and when I first started playing WvW, I had a tendency to charge opponents a lot. The result is I’d now be out of range of my team and I’d get destroyed. So, now I try to hold off on charging until my squad is in a position to push a bit. I just sit back w/ a gun or longbow and pew pew away.

This next one only comes with experience but its probably more important. You absolutely have to know when you’re walking into a wipe/losing battle. And you have to have some utility skills that help you to get away if you end up in that situation.

Mostly if you want to make G’s in WvW, you just have to avoid dying. And it is easier than it sounds. Also, sell everything. Maybe salvage stuff if you’re still working on professions, but occasionally you’ll loot a few items you can vendor for some silver. I got my first exotic item in WvW from a Moa, which I then sold for like 3g on the TP.

I havent made much gold on this game yet, but I always walk away from WvW with a small profit that I’m happy with. Sometimes on the weekends if I play for a few hours in the afternoon, I’ll make a quick 2g from selling loot drops and taking objectives with my squad.

Just do your best to not die.

Until these are fixed, could we maybe take the vendors and put them near another way point? I’m trying to get the set of exotic heavy armor from the melandru karma vendor, and I know a lot of other people just need the vendors up to get their armor.

Soooo, until you all figure out what the problem is, can we at least do that as a temporary solution? Feels like the players are being punished for something that we cant control. Doesn’t seem fair or reasonable to have to wait for weeks or possibly months for a bug-fix. Maybe dont link armor vendors to meta-events?

edit: are there any servers that melandru is not bugged on? id be down to transfer just to get my gear and then transfer back

Why should they stop using a feature of the game just for you? Actually, why do you even have emotes on in your main chat in the first place? If you plan to talk, have a tab that filters out anything that disrupts it. I have 3 tabs; 1 for general /map and /say, 1 for /guild, and the other for random battle stuff and emotes.

Re-read that last part again. Any way that people try to justify their actions, it all comes back to what I just typed. Immature players who think its funny to annoy other players.

Why should I have to change anything? I’m not trying to annoy people. I’m not trying to ruin chat for the people around me.

You really shouldnt act like its okay for players to be inconsiderate to other players. There is no justification for being inconsiderate. Unless you are the type of person who is proud of the fact that you get to be a jerk and get away with it.

I dont know the rules on emote spamming. I dont know how most players feel about it. But if it isnt bannable, it should be.

Earlier I was trying to talk to a few people in map chat about this week’s WvW on blackgate. Just wandering around Lions Arch and chatting, as I tend to do. Anyway, 3 people from my server start spamming emotes, not at anyone in particular, just spamming for spamming’s sake. The chat screen was scrolling so fast, having a conversation was downright impossible. I asked them to stop and was told to turn off my emote filter on the chat screen. Here’s the thing: I shouldn’t have to. Nobody should have to turn off a feature of the game because people are using it to annoy others.

I’m sure there are people thinking that me asking for bans for people spamming emotes is a bit harsh or an overreaction. Maybe you’re right. All I know is, that when people are spamming, it is impossible to have a conversation. You cant even try to scroll up in chat to see what you missed because the chat is scrolling so fast. Its disruptive and immature.

edit – I made my chat log as big as i could. If i were to scroll up to the top of chat in that pic, all you’d see is the same thing. If I were to speak in chat, what I typed would be pushed off the chat screen within a second.

I’ve noticed a few people saying never take supply from a keep. While this is true 99% of the time, if your keep is being attacked and the battle could go either way, feel free to take supply to build last second siege on the walls. >.>

Whats the point of having a base full of supply if you lose the base.

Also, if your team is losing or outmanned, get a small group of people and take out their supply dolyaks. No supply = no upgrades = easier to retake base.

My warrior can get away from anything.

sword/greatsword both have charges and greatsword has the spinny-charge thingy and for utility skills, you have bullrush for another charge and signet of rage for swiftness

probably easier with a 1hand sword because the charge is only on like a 7 or 8 sec cooldown

I see this phrase a lot in WvW, and I could never get an explanation in chat of what it meant.

So what exactly is “Orb Hacking”? How does it happen? Can anything be done about it?

On my warrior, I’ll bust out the Longbow and hit #3 one time so the green targeting circle comes up. I’ll then use that targeting circle to kinda map out the area. I use it to see differences in elevation, how big platforms are etc.

Once you do it one time, you’ll know what I mean
