If you’re going to play the tank end of the spectrum usually the player has to sacrifice alot of damage to become a heal bot/sponge for what i assume is a support role.
(my current full warrior cleric) Now although my warrior cleric is kittening tanky from cond and physical dmg. …my damage is only around 2k power… no crit no crit damage.
For me this is considered fair since i’m not both burst damage and insane healing tank.
People need to think properly before making kittened statements like the op.
At 300 healing …a warrior should not be gettign 400+ on healing signet thats bloody dumb. SO simple fix, in order to obtain the original healing signet value the player has to invest a good amount into healing, (cleric gear) this means they would have to give up damage thus making a fair trade off.
I rather not have idiotic ideas nerfing healing signet the wrong way destroying a true bunker players option.
I completely agree with the op. What he says is so dam obvious, I don’t why anet haven’t done anything to tweak the guardian. And this is why i’m currently enjoying my Bunker warrior cause he’s a superior tank. I’m not saying my warrior bunker is OP it can be easily taken down by few good players, but the general warrior bunker builds especially in wvw are EZ mode. As some others mention most other classes are alot stronger atm i.e thieves and necros, rangers and engis, these are really tough for my guardian bunkers to handle (especially their non stop applicable conditions) where as my warrior can fairly handle them.
Guardians virtue systems sucks imo.
Condition management is poor. (not asking for mad buff just a fair tweak)
If you don’t believe me roll a warrior and make bunker warrior. And you’ll also find they can better handle op necros, burst thieves, troll regen spirit rangers and op perplex cond engis.
Completely dumb post imo. I think the allowance of stacking free stats gives great flexibility to builds. PLus the op’s logic makes no sense. Since everyone can do it. No one really has a problem with it.
When you see these gvg farming groups (for wxp) attaining mastery’s far quicker than normal players who actually wvw. They always have advantage with extra vit and power. At least with this free stacking normal player can balance things out.

Completely disagree with suggestion of nerfing cond food duration. Idiotic idea actually. Since I use the same food on my guardian build to help negate cond dmg, nerfing that food would also destroy any chance my guardian has at surviving conditions. (and most decent guardians understand they melt on condis especially in massive zerg battles) so no. Rather it’s up to enemies to use + cond food to counter.
I totally agree ‘a t s e’ regarding healing signet. without it we’d get dropped by competent zerk players. (thiefs still hurts me massively i have to rely on kiting with my sword and warhorn to avoid burst) If you want to kill regen players get some support from poison cond builds. Plus what about rangers troll healing regen builds. I’ve observed idiotic situations whereby they are taking on and killing groups of players with kittened amounts of sustain.
Only thing that needs changing imo is the skullcrack from 3 to 2 secs, match it with the earthshaker that’s already 2 sec stun.
oh p.s I personally don’t use kittened cheese builds (but rather full tank low dmg builds, hammer, sword wh for support play) and i often stalemate many other good players with good builds like, healway guardians, zerk thieves, and MM necros along with clever high cond dmg engis. It always ends up in both parties just walking away.

@hunter LOL if your guardian is getting beat by that warrior build..you’re not very good.
It seems these days alot of thief players are a complete and utter joke. I play a full cleric warrior bunker Relying on power damage (as much as i can stack/buff on) my damage is 0 crit damage so i’m trading burst damage in favour of massive defense and regen. with my weapons and and my skill i can convincingly beat majority of thief builds/players out there. Only infrequently (in wvw) do i meet skilled thief players that give me a real challenge. From all the duels i’ve had I can tell you alot of theif players seem the “hop on to the bandwagon” type as they rarely seem show any sort of intelligent tactics, they just attempt to spam heartseeker and backstab like idiots.
These guys have insane stealth and evades at any part of the fight they can run away with ease. (leaving the match in stalemate) but no they complain because they can’t win. For some logical reason if they don’t win that translates to the enemy player being op.
..coming from a Guardian bunker player and currently enjoying his warrior bunker don’t let these moaners push you around. You don’t want to go back to being zerk warriors only meta.
I love the idea of GVG the only thing i have against it is groups are constantly and indirectly farming WXP non stop by doing this. ..cheating? what about the random WvW players whom spend their time in wvw objectives they are aquiring wxp at the intended normal rate.
Here are my two cents coming from a Guardian player.
I rolled a guardian back last year and still is my Favourite class to play, from all previous mmos i have always played tanks because of their counter attack style and “war of attrition” type of gameplay. Few months ago i started battling these regen warriors that seemed quite unkillable , like alot of ignorants i judged preemptively, but the reality of it was that i was simply stalemating every battle with them. Seems FAIR to me.
The real issue arises when players come up against builds that are disadvantageous to their favourite ones, then they start crying. There are always counter builds it just happens that atm tanky anti condtion builds are the meta because that’s what pvp/wvw requires for players to survive . (They need to provide some solid evidence not just have the minority of same players moaning the forums and coercing teh devs to nerf something)
I finally have a level 80 warrior (THEIR PERSPECTIVE) and am playing a very tanky regen build with anti condtion food runes etc. I am full defense and v little offense 2300 power, no crit dmg only fury buff at certain times) (suits me fine as i like to slowly chip away at the target while maintaining my sustain.
But i’m not invincible, against hardcore burst thiefs with insane stealth as long as they are good players (i consider myself a very good player) it’s always 50/50. Against FULL condition damage and condition DURATION engis and necros i also can get killed very quickly.
i’ts so simple the answer… if you meet one end of the spectrum of a build counter it by building the opposite and learn to play. Just because it’s not convenient to you at that particular time on the battlefield doesn’t give you the right to demand a nerf. i.e FULL OFF vs FULL DEF and tanky builds are always going to stalemate other tanky builds.
Just because people are crap players they shouldn’t expect the rules to be bent around them.
People complain about healing signet ..yet no mention of rangers troll healing.. no mention of burst thiefs perma stealth. (thiefs currently abusing Cloak and Dagger by spamming keep walls and killing stragglers.) wheres the mention of bunker healing necros?
Every class has their capabilities it’s up to the player to adapt.
The only real issue i see atm with the warrior is this cheese skullcrack build.. just reduce the stun by 1 second problem solved. (anyway GS on warrior sucks …compared to my guardian imo)
As for this food complain. FAIL LOGIC…the advantages of food is there, for EVERY CLASS to take.. it’s not just class specific. If you encounter some warrior runing DM and melandru and FOOD…simple, stack condition duration and cond food..and spam ur condis..(still hurst me like hell)
Heavy classes are perfectly balanced atm imo and if they are nerfed..lol my guardian will superior again..and you’ll end up seeing alot of players especially warriors leave A net. GL

LOL imo this OP is a troll, As a guardian myself (my only character is the guardian) i run a regen tanky build with semi decent damage. I play war of attrition style out tank my opponents it’s always served me best.
When im randomy dueling i make a habit of dueling other classes with tanky builds. I can honestly tell you my guardian still has the upper hand against tanky warriors, they don’t really have good burst healing nor do they have the great defensive skills like guardian..ofc it makes sense for their passive regen to be strong. It’s the only decent source of healing they get. Now if you want to know whats op healing…LOOK to the ranger troll healing signet…thats op.
I feel sorry all this warrior hate..aside from that mace stun build hate they’re also getting hate for their healing signet. LOL…
All i will say is..there is always a counter build. If you can’t beat a class running a particular build try make one that does. Stop being lazy and moaning on the forums.
To those silly people that are making Durp arguments for nerfing food/runes. Think with your brain for one moment. Since those items are used across all classes it would affect them also. SO NO.
Simpler solution as follows:
DM from 33% to 15%
Skull crack from 3 sec to 1 and half with 10 stacks of vulnerability for 10 sec
and HB from 8 sec to 10 sec default (guardian whirling wrath on gs is 10 sec default anyway so it would bring it inline with other heavy gs burst)
that would work imo slight nerf..should make that op combo less abusing.

Guardians are probably the most balanced classed around give a take a few kittenty kitten traits..that need changing.
Infact imo Guardians are very deceptive in the fact tha people automatically believe they’re easy to play against other classes.
Go up against a Good S/D thief
Go up against a good Zerk warrior with gs/shield
Go up against a power healing necro
Go up against a tanky kitten regen ranger
yeah..not easy
I play a guardian, I think i play it well.. but it’s not easy to play against competent players.
those 3 v 1 videos where guardians win…lmao kittene kitten players they must be.
Imo I reckon you’re talking kitten you must be playing kittenty players i guarantee if you were up against decent players your guardian would die.
