How do I authorize another IP address to use my account to log onto gw2?
Because I am planning on playing gw2 in a different location, obviously.

Yay, I’m glad I got responses ^^. I’m going to attempt here to make a template for a bug victim post requesting compensation. First of all, be as specific as possible about:

1) how many days you’ve been affected
2) what you did in game that you didn’t get credit for
3) response received from ANet

Include screenshots if possible, such as multiple days of 5/5 complete with number of laurels unchanged. Can also include copies of emails with ANet.

My case as an example:
1) My dailies have been stuck at 5/5 without resetting since Wed 4-16 (6 days). The first time, strangely enough, I got 2 daily reward chest but NO LAUREL in either chest. After that it’s been stuck at 5/5 with no way to get laurels.
2) Also since Wed 4-16 I have not gotten chests from dungeon bosses or bonus chests from completing dungeons. I have run CoF p1 and ACp3 (as mentioned earlier) with no rewards.
3) ANet told me they were working on it, but that’s it.

   I got two daily chests for completing 5/5 daily achievements today, but no laurel in either chest. Weird.
   Completed daily achievements between 5:30 pm server and 6:30 pm server, and I should have 76 laurels.

I also attached a screenshot thinking that it could prove my dailies were not reset if the dailies listed were different than the dailies for today’s unbugged, but unfortunately the dailies are not different. Therefore, a screenshot must be taken right after the moment of reset or two days consecutively (as it shows 5/5 complete but no change in laurels).

Hey guys! I started a thread in players helping players soliciting contributions from fellow players to those of us affected by this serious, week-long bug.

I got the idea for a bug victims “charity” when I ran acp3, didn’t get any of the chests, complained about it in party chat (but didn’t leave party), and, to my surprise, received 1 gold from one of my party members (who happened to not be affected by this bug) in the mail after the dungeon! Obviously, there are some great folks who are willing to go above and beyond to help out those of us who are basically getting screwed over by ANet but still continue to play.

Hello! As some of you know, there is a bug affecting a substantial amount of players since last Tuesday’s patch wherein nothing in the Guild Wars 2 world resets. You have probably heard a few of your guildies complain about it. Most people affected by the bug cannot:
1) get laurels or Achievement Points for daily achieves because, every reset, the counter is stuck on 5/5 dailies.
2) get any chests from dungeons or fractals, except the 26s 20 token one…this includes ALL boss chests and the daily bonus chest (e.g. 1g 40tokens from CoF)
3) get world boss chest rewards, or if they can, its very sporadic
4) craft ascended items with a one-day cooldown (ie spool of silk thread) because the cooldown wasn’t reset
5) other things affected by daily reset I may have missed

Obviously, many of us bug victims are hoping that Anet will allow us to earn back the missing rewards or compensate us in some way for all these days of no dailies,no crafting, no dungeons etc., but people on the thread dealing with this issue overwhelmingly agree that Anet will probably not give us the compensation we deserve.

So I thought it would be neat to start a sort of GW2 charity fund for victims of this and future bugs who are not compensated by Anet. Note: I am a victim of this bug, but I did NOT post this to beg for money from others for myself, I posted it to start a bug victims relief fund.

And also, I’d like to point out that this game is NOT free to play, I bought it for $30, and spent another $20 on gem store items.
If I don’t get a refund in virtual items, I’d like my $50 back :/

I’d understand if ArenaNet can’t just give back possibly missed loot, but it should be possible to give us back “extended” rewards. That means in detail that if I run a dungeon succesfully I get a bonus chest. If I run it again afterwards that day, I get another one. This keeps on until the missed days are refunded.

This. This is better for anet than refunding possibly missed rewards because it still requires you to play, good for the players because we actually, you know, get what we missed out on. Another suggestion is to credit our accounts with gems or even a gift from the gem store, I’m not picky. What makes it much worse is that the bug doesn’t affect everyone. Obviously I would rather the bug not exist at all, but if it affected everyone, not only would anet fix it faster, but this state of things where some players continue to get richer while those of us affected by the bug continue to be screwed is very unfair.

Btw a lot of you are PC players right? I doubt this is a Mac only bug since it’s on bugs forum and not Mac forum…

I have not gotten laurels from dailies since Tuesday. I have checked every day to see if they reset, but no resets for me. I ran COF1 and AC3 and got no boss chests or daily bonus chests. I did complete 2/2 monthlies and receive the monthly reward before the patch, but my monthlies have not reset since the patch. Either way, anet owes me four laurels (possibly more before the fix happens),2.5 gold, some dungeon tokens, and a few other items. I am running a Mac osx 10.9.2, mavericks, 2 ghz intel core i7 processor, with intel iris pro 1024 mb graphics card. Please fix this for us as soon as you can. I will be very annoyed if I don’t get my missing laurels and other items awarded, but if I do, I will decide to spend some money purchasing gems

Hello, love your game, havent played in a while and decided to comeback. So I started running Dungeons. Now after the update is started having a bug where reward chest would not show up, you can see them on the map but not in game. This happened 4/5 times. Missing chest I can understand, big patch many things and occasional bugs. But in my last run I did not get Reward XP. That is where I have to draw the line. I hope this will get looked at asap and it exists across all Dungeons. If anyone else having similar issues please let me know so that I know I’m not the only one.

Don’t worry, a ton of people including myself have also experienced this. My advice is to play a lot of pvp and do map completion (as these are the only features that seem to work at the moment) and hope anet fixes it soon

lol, I take it you are a PC player? It’s funny to see you guys whining about tp being offline for three days, when we go without it for 3 WEEKS. Although to be fair, it only took anet about 10 days to fix the last Mac tp issue.
I do get why you are upset though, we paid for this and should get a functioning product =P.

I have seen a TON of posts about this in other threads, but I don’t see a thread for it and I think it deserves one.

Many of us are not getting boss chests from dungeons and/or daily dungeon completion chest with 1-3s (depending on which dungeon) and tokens.
I ran CoFp1 and ACp3 and did not get any boss chests. I also did NOT get the 1g /1.5 gold and token bonus chest at end.
I do still get the 26s and token bonus chest at end, but obviously that one is bad loot compared to the one I’m missing. I have heard many complaints about this in other threads, so post them here =).

I didn’t receive the ACp3 or CoFp1 dungeon bonus chest and boss chests. After that I stopped doing dungeons because I bet they’re all broken.
I got 2 daily chests FOR THE SAME DAY, but neither of them had a laurel, just the useless mystic coin, 5s, 600 karma, and green luck essence. Well, okay that stuff isn’t totally useless, but we do dailies for laurel and it’s useless compared to laurels =).

Oh wait, I was probably supposed to change the name of the shortcut not the folder.
Yeah, that’s probably it.
To anyone else attempting to do this, the thing you change the name of should look like a little guild wars 2 icon, NOT a blue folder XD.

Hello,

We’re going to need to spend some more time on getting a patching resolution. As this could carry into the weekday, the team would like to give you an optional workaround.

1. Rename your existing application file to something other than “Guild Wars 2”.
2. Download a new “Guild Wars 2.dmg” from here:
http://cloudfront.guildwars2.com/client/branches/Gw2Setup.dmg
(or) from the account manager on guildwars2.com.
3. Open the file and install the application. This installation should fix the certificates issue you’ve been experiencing.
4. When the installer completes and the Guild Wars 2 client begins patching, close the application.
5. Delete the new “Guild Wars 2” application that the installer placed in your Applications folder.
6. Relaunch the original application that you renamed in step 1.
7. The application will patch to the latest version.

I found the instructions could use a little more clarity. To help out here is what you do:

1. Go to your applications folder and rename Guild Wars 2 to something else. I renamed it to Guild Wars 3 to keep it simple.

2. Use the link above to download the .dmg

3. Open it and click on the installer.

4. Once it is done go to your applications folder and open the new, “Guild Wars 2” application. If you named the old file Guild Wars 3 like I did it will be right beside it.

5. Once it opens let it run until you see it doing the update, “X number of files out of 200,00 files” or what ever that number is for the total files. I used 200,000 because it is something like that.

6. Now you can close the application, you don’t need to let it finish downloading. Just make sure it started patching first. Then delete the new “Guild Wars 2” file in your applications folder.

7. Rename the file you renamed in step one if you want to back to “Guild Wars 2”. I just did this for clarity.

8. You should be able to launch the game now and see if it works.

Note, if you use different user accounts on your Mac you will need to do this for each account you want to play GW2 on.

If you are not sure how to rename a file I have attached and image on the easy way to do it. Right click the file, select get info. Under name and extension just change the “2” at the end of Guild Wars 2, to a 3 and click the “x” to close the window and the name will be changed.

I hope this helps some of you because from reading this thread it seems there has been some confusion.

Every time I try to restart the game it creates a new copy of the Guild Wars 2 file (along with that guild wars 3 file) and will not run until all 271,000 files have been installed.

I can’t figure out what I did wrong, I could’ve sworn I followed instructions perfectly.

But this is what you get when you give inadequately explained and complicated instructions to people who don’t know anything about computers and ask them to play around in folders that Apple deliberately concealed from newbies so they wouldn’t inadvertently kitten up their computers.

If you don’t know what a Guild Wars 2 folder is because your /applications only has a shortcut to running GW2 and not a FOLDER, that’s because you have to follow these instructions first: http://www.macworld.com/article/2057221/how-to-view-the-library-folder-in-mavericks.html.
This actually SHOWS your library folder, which then has a folder called applications support, and then has a folder called Guild Wars 2. This was the folder I renamed to Guild Wars 3 before following the rest of the instructions, but if you don’t have a lot of computer knowledge don’t bother. I’m lucky I only apparently accidentally deleted my guild wars 2 patches.

Yes, the update did not work for me either. TP still not working. I have a OSX V 10.9.2, 2 GHz Intel Core i7 processor, running Mavericks. But I wanted to say thank you for working on this and updating us over the weekend! As far as I know, no one from anet has gotten back to us on a weekend before, also lately there has been a much more prompt response to these issues, so good job =).

1. Create a way to buy and sell things on the trading post from this website. Someone already came up with a way to buy and check prices of things without being in game, it’s called a crossover or something. The facts are that the tp in game works 50% of the time at best for everyone on Mac (and also breaks sometimes for PC players I’ve been told), and breaks after each patch and at random times. It is apparently difficult to fix in game, since every time it permanently breaks it takes 2-3 weeks to fix. Since it’s broken much more often than it works for the richest 10% of your customers, please make it possible to buy and sell items and buy gem store items from this website instead of just in game =). That way you wouldn’t need to rush to fix it in game every time it breaks because people would have the option to buy and sell outside of game when it breaks in game.

Hello I’m a friendly, mature 25 yo with lots of gaming experience (3 months in GW).
I have a level 80 necro in exotics with a few ascended (full zerker) and leveling thief/guard as fast as possible. 3k AP experience in dungeons (except for Coe, hotw, and arah), and fractals. I will play as often as possible (min 2h/day). I promise I don’t suck.

I want a guild that:
1) does FREQUENT (hopefully daily) SUCCESSFUL runs of difficult living story achieves
(No need to succeed every time obviously just most of the time)
2) does successful runs of Teq
3) has good fractal groups that finish all 4 in an hour (lv 1-9)
4) will take a player with home in devona’s rest. Guesting to your server every day is not a prob but I don’t have anywhere near enough money to transfer in game or irl. If I like the guild I will work tirelessly to get the money to xfer, it just won’t be soon.
5) is big, chats a lot about random kitten, and doesn’t care that I like to chat a lot about random kitten (I also swear in guild chat occasionally).

OH also I’d love to buy an item that makes jumping puzzles easier. Something like the lightning thing in Sanctum Sprint that pulls you to the other side (but only usable in the PvE maps, not WvW or activities or dungeons such as the harpy fractal). Some people might think this is too P2W, but it doesn’t give you an advantage in combat…just jumping.

I was going to put this in the suggestions forum, but apparently I don’t have permission to post in the suggestions forum for some strange reason, so I’m posting it here.

I really, really, REALLY want to be able to buy the Wintersday toy minis (princess doll, etc.) from the gem store. I did every single Wintersday achievement available for Wintersday 2013 (except the jp) and a ton of dailies and easily got my journeyman toymaker. Unfortunately, I really, really wanted both the plush griffon and the princess doll. I was seriously bummed when I learned I could only get one no matter how many Wintersday achievements I got. The other Wintersday minis that were buyable in the gem store (fawn, puppy, etc.) were OK, but not nearly as cute as the toys, in my opinion.

For those of us who didn’t play back in 2012, will we need to wait 5 whole years to get a complete set of the Wintersday toy minis =(? I really don’t want to have to do that. I would seriously buy all of them in the gem store for 300 gems each if only they’d become available. Preferably before next Wintersday, like ANet had the summer sunglasses in stock around Thanksgiving. I can’t be the only one who didn’t play in 2012 and still really wanted to get all the toy minis, can I?

This should also be easy to implement as the toy minis are already in game. Also, the one I want the most is the princess doll.

Imo, there is a problem with the event and it’s just as ShiningSquirrel indicated.

When you have a design that allows a few unlucky or bad players to fail the event for everyone, you have a recipe for player abuse. It seems in game that very few ppl realize fails may be due to bad luck or poor design and usually heap abuse on an entire lane (many of whom did everything perfectly). I don’t know how people can think its fun to be constantly insulted when they may or may not have done anything wrong. Would be nice if the community would be like “oh well, it’s okay, let’s try better next time,” but it’s just human nature to blame others for failures in team events, so I don’t think that would ever happen. Better to let the few on the finished platforms carry the unlucky or bad.

However, my main problem with the event is that I get disconnected in the middle of the marionette fight 1 out of 2 times that I do it xD.

I followed all the steps in the link (applying patch manually and making sure my version was the newest one and then, redownloading the game while removing the GW2.dat file)

The TP still does NOT work for me at all. It takes forever to load then i get this message: “Listing fee: unable to retrieve results. Error attempting to sell”
This includes not being able to see anything in the gem store.

My mac friends who run earlier versions say the tp still works for them (well, other than the frequent it-doesn’t-work-but-fixes-when-i-relog). Is it possible to get rid of mavericks and go back to an earlier version??? I would love that so much, I desperately want this to work and don’t want to wait a while for another fix =(.

I wish they had a way in game to get tickets going to the devs or administrators without having to minimize the game and go to the website. If there is an issue in game, players should have a way to get the ticket going while they have the issue right there in front of them.

This sounds like a really good idea!

Anyway, I don’t really know about the technical stuff, why a port is bad and all that, but the performance definitely leaves some room to be desired. I am making allowances for the fact that its a beta, but its been in beta for a very long time and I don’t understand why game companies in general can’t just make the game for mac and windows at the same time like Blizzard does =(.

I like GW2 a lot better than WoW in general, I LOVE the fact that you can buy gems with gold and don’t have to pay per month, but the tradeoff is that I have a LOT more technical problems with GW2 than I ever had with WoW. First, and worst are the CONSTANT problems with the TP. At least once a day it hasn’t worked, since I started playing about 2 months ago. The problem used to be fixed by relogging, which was pretty annoying, but now nothing fixes it no matter how many times I relog. I guess I’ll submit a ticket, but I don’t like how much of my play time is wasted by having to submit tickets =(. I occasionally have the spinning camera problem, but I have cross my fingers always been able to resolve it without too much difficulty. Also, there have been nights in WvW zerg when I have been frequently disconnected due, I guess, to the stress put on the computer by 150+ ppl spamming their abilities and lighting up the screen in huge zerg v zerg fights. WvW zerging is probably my favorite thing to do in game, and this issue has negatively affected my enjoyment of WvW. Finally, push to talk in ts does not work in game, but that might be an issue with teamspeak, idk.

I was also disappointed that it took over a week to fix the gem buying problem with the last patch, due to that I was unable to get an item that I wanted.

I like this game. A lot. But these problems are very close to deal/game breaking =(. I think most of the people at ANet are doing their best, but all these headaches seem like they could have been solved by spending a little more money and doing whatever Blizz did with their mac client.

Also, my parents are mac ppl and bought me this Macbook and I can’t afford to go and buy a copy of windows for bootcamp or a new computer for playing games. It’s too bad, but I’m stuck playing native mac.

NOTHING on the TP has been working the past few days. I have logged and relogged constantly and still nothing. Relogging used to fix it every time, but not anymore /sigh.

I know I’m lazy but I really don’t want to watch a 30 min or longer video to answer the most basic questions xD. I looked at his vids and they were all 30 min or longer.

Hi, I just started and my highest lvl character is lv 50 necro.
I want to try pvp, but whenever I try to look up builds there’s a lot of confusing abbreviations (what is MM for example?) and ppl posting numbers like 30/30/10 without saying what weapons, what 67890 skills they’re using, and what traits they’re taking for the major trait slots.

So for someone who likes to pretty much dps in place without doing too much fancy dodging and positioning, what’s a easy to play, noob-friendly build that’s pretty good at killing players and surviving in pvp?

I would like info about:
1) what weapons to use (including a good rotation for 12345 and suggestions on when to swap weapons generally)
2) what traits to take in major trait slots, in addition to the #\#\#\#\#
3) what stats my armor/weapons should have (like is toughness essential for pvp in this game the way resil is in wow?)
And, most importantly,
4) what skills to use in the 6,7,8,9,0 slots

My issues: I cannot buy gems or redeem the gems I already bought. This has still not been fixed as of 8:45 pm EST patch.
Also, about 20% of the time I visit the trading post, it is completely blank and I cannot buy or sell anything.

I do not have the spinning camera issue at the moment, but I have a few times in the past.

I’d imagine one of the higher ups at ANet would be very annoyed at the lost revenue this gem issue represents. As someone else said, why don’t they just add a place to buy gems on the website? That would be a quick and easy fix to an issue that is apparently very difficult to fix in game.

Stay Small Son 8/10—it’s cute and I like the alliteration, but no story provided. Also it doesn’t fit the naming convention, which makes me more curious about the story.

I would give adorkable 10/10 though, regardless of race and class because it’s just that awesome.

Tizzy was “kindly asked to leave” her asura school around the same time her parents (who were the Asuran Ambassadors to the Norn) were preparing to go visit the Norn. Tizzy went with them, and discovered she fit in better with the Norn than with her own people. The Norn were impressed by Tizzy’s determination and her ferocity, and she showed an amazing ability to best Norn 2 or 3 times her size in combat. When her parents left, Tizzy stayed with the Norn and trained to be a warrior. The Norn learned about her Asuran nickname (Tizzy the Terror) and nicknamed her Tizzy Tinyterror because she was small in comparison to them. Tizzy has a quick temper, but she’s very loyal and determined.
