Why is there no backpiece/amulet with nomad’s ascended stat, given every other piece has it. Cant even choose nomads for the mawdrey backpiece which came from the zone that introduced nomads

currently at work and it looks like the patch came early today. Anything i said was in relation to the last patch
the box with the gear is rewarded to every character that completes the story i have finished it 6 times so far and have recieved 6 boxes. The rewards you get from completing achievements unlock the skins for all armor classes.
do story with alt and you get one box per alt to choose what you want
as everyone has said this problem has a simple solution.
1) get rid of the event tracker thing.
2) once you get to 4/4 4/4 level 4 defense start breach event.
3) reward for breach event = loot equivalent to 50 chests + 2-5 guaranteed rares + guaranteed exotic.
with this force the event to take 30 mins or so if perfect. by perfect i mean no defend events fail.
I realize in the farm you could get more then 50 chests but not much more. With the addition of the 2-5 rares and an exotic it would make the events more worth doing. Also by exotic i mean random armor or weapon with rune or sigil and can include precursors not accessory. and by loot equivalent to 50 chests i mean what you would get from open 50 chests not what anet thinks is equivalant, so you would end up with 50 coin purses plus other stuff
ultimately this goes back to the fact that downed skills are broken. I have an 80 of every class, i started with main ranger. Downed skills should not be class specific and all skills should be disabled while downed except for the downed skills. The downed skills should be identical across all classes. an attack, an interrupt, and a self heal. done all downed problems fixed for all areas of the game.
Just going to put this out there without reading all the comments. The problem isnt the levels of which you achieve them it is the fact that anet has drastically nerfed achieve point gain. During season 1 200-400 new achievement points were released every 2 weeks now we barely get 100 new points a month. they need to go back to the achievement point levels they had previously. A current example of bad achievement points set up is collectibles, each dungeon set only giving 3 AP really now these should be around 100 ap per dungeon. Also legendary collector only giving 5 ap for a legendary once agani should be around 100 ap per legendary. at current rate of additional achievement points you are probably not going to see anyone finish a set for 3-4 years
As i tend to say in these types of posts. The in game market should not have any influence on gameplay decisions like this. This is 100% the right decision. This game has more then enough ways to make money. I can easily make 10-20 gold a day and i never sell mats unless of course i have maxed out stacks of refined and raw mat.
i think the excitement revolves around the achieve because there are not many giants in the world and risen giants do not count for it
fastest 1-80 for me was initial char creation instance + time to run to bank + 1 minute, lvl 20 scroll, 60 tomes of knowledge
fastest non scroll lvl time was about 22 hours of game play, this was with crafting chef and jewel

I think they should go to a universal set of downed skills that all players have regardless of class. maybe hit, interrupt, heal and maybe a temporary invul.
From the spiking perspective. Have spiking overwrite all skills and the use of a skill interrupt the spiking. By this i mean if you are invis or invul or have stability as soon as you start to spike all this goes away you should be completely vulnerable while spiking. Also while spiking if you use a skill the spike should be cancelled and friendly player effects should have no effect on you while you are spiking.
Arenanet you need to fix your download servers. I play alot of games and this is the only game in which i have issues when updating or downloaing. On a good day i may get 100 kb/sec for this game. Most games on the worst days i get around 12mb/sec download. This is not isp or internet related this is directly your servers as i have seen the same problem on multiple isps. Also the fact that i lose connection in the middle of updates and the client does not auto reconnect and resume download.

dont know about the rest but mesmer clones are doing normal damage the only difference is they are more likely to actually attack now. before they would just stand around sometimes. but the actual amount of damage they are doing hasnt changed. So if a mesmer drops all the phantasms they have on you all at once and given they all actually attack now you will get hit very hard if mesmer is full zerk with phantasm damage traits.
crit % and crit damage should not be a power only multiplier. You shoul be able to crit with condi damage, condi duration, boon duration, and healing. All of these stats should be multiplied by crit levels. In doing this it would cause a much larger build variety to be being used by the player base and berserker would no longer be king. Also remove stack limitations from boons and conditions.
just going to put this out there but celestial stats will still be too high even after the update they all need about a 6% nerf. Lets take the breastplate as an example. If you compare ascended berserk breastplate to celestial and change crit damage for ferocity as follows celestial = 47 same as all other stats and berserker = 76 same as secondary stat, you still end up with celestial having 24 more stat points then berserker, and when you add another 6% you end up with roughly 31 more stat points. This is just for the breastplate, so with all pieces you are probably talking around a 300 stat point difference. All armors of the same level should add the same number of stat points.
So with the new trait system not having people buy book unlocks, will people get refunds for the ones they have purchased? If you are like me and have 8 80’s that is roughly 24 gold.
I know this suggestion will probably get blasted but i agree that a reward should be given for completing all metas involved in the LS, and this reward should honestly be on the level of a precursor. At the same time i think they need to add in the ability for people to replay all living story stuff. So for maps have some asura that will let you relive the map in the past and have maybe an npc somewhere that lets you re enter old dungeons and story instances and allow everyone to still be able to get these metas but maybe without the original rewards, so you get the meta without any chests or titles associated with it.
I am just going to say i will be disappointed with anything less then the utter destruction of LA and the inability to rebuild it. I do not want to see any patches with the theme of rebuild LA, i would rather see help build a new city in this other place. Make LA a permanent 80 zone. If scarlet awakes something have it and its minions be what will inhabit this map going forward.

And if you want to make it about depending on us here you go. How often when scarlets minions were attacking a zone for the past 6 months or so did you stop what you were doing to go and help? How often were these invasions stopped? So based on that it can be assumed even the players didnt consider scarlet a threat and this is what happens.

Here is the general problem. Above all else Anet is a company that is in the business of making money. If you remove vertical progression you only keep the most dedicated players, if they are lucky they may keep 20% of players. This is not enough to keep a game and servers up and running. If you remove the grind to get things, people get things to fast and they have to develop at a pace that is unrealisitc. The grind is needed to keep people in the game trying to get things while they work on the next thing people will need to grind to get. As much as this system sucks it is the only way to keep the maximum people in the game playing.
After saying that i would agree the grinding sucks. But grinding is not the problem here. The problem is RNG combined with unbalanced crafting recipes. First RNG is a system that has no place in this type of game. Everything should be obtainable through some kind of repeatable way, basically quests or gathering, so introduce ways to directly gather all base mats, add in skinning and shearing, done.
So will the secret order of whispers hideout be found by scarlet?
Anyways back to my original question. Does anyone know if i will get a big jump if i go from a 760 to a 780. I can say that in these same type events if i drop some of the shadows and reflections down and turn off hi res models it does get me above 30 fps. Another reason i think gpu is to blame.
My cpu never gets above 50% usage while playing. Keep in mind you just linked an i5 – 2500k. I have a liquid cooled i7-4930k 6-core running at 4.2ghzs.
So I am almost positive that the gpu is my current bottleneck in my system. So i am playing with every setting on highest except for settings that have ultra setting and i am getting around 15-20 fps average and drop to as low as 8 fps in heavy populated areas with alot of effects, such as the new wurm fight with 50 people going all out on one head. So my current system is as follows:
i7 – 4930k running at 4.2 ghzs
32 gb mushkin 2133 ram
intel 520 ssd 240gb
evga gtx 760
So as the topic says is this a GPU problem? If so does anyone know how much of an improvement can be expected from a gtx 780?

repeatable achievements do not count towards the meta, you will finish meta by doing dailies
some of these are good suggestions. A major change that needs to happen to wvw for seasons to work is to remove the server idea from the picture all together. Determine the number of teams there will be and allow people to sign up for teams for a couple weeks before season start. Have teams start with say a 25 person cap and increase as all teams reach caps. this will prevent any team from being overloaded and will create fun and balanced matchups.
while i understand your idea i dont think that is the proper fix. The fix that is needed is a better revamped way to do pve leaderboard, because that is what this is about. To start i am on the leaderboard, but this is not why i complete most dailies. I complete them because i want to get the achievement chests as fast as possible. By limiting what i can get i will get them slower. As said before the only argument to limit has to do with leaderboards. I am not sure what kind of metrics could be used for the leaderboards but i dont think AP is a good metric at all for pve leaderboards as this tells you nothing about how good a player is but rather how much time they have to play. In fact i am willing to bet the top 5 best pve players in the game are not the top 5 people on the leaderboard.
i agree, but i also think the whole soulbound system is bad to begin with, nothing should be more then accountbound
I agree but i would say allow for fractal specific achievements to be gotten here as well
not 100% sure this is a bug but i think it is. I was in a group last night doing a level 30 and we got the thaumanova fractal. Everything was going fine till we got to the room where you need to save the inquest behind the doors. One died and we were no longer able to proceed through the fractal because the door to disable the collider wouldnt open.as we could not get 3/3 colliders. Has anyone else experienced this?
At this point i think most people get the idea behind my suggestion. I think many of the things people have said would be good ideas as well. As stated before this bag would not interfere with any other item currently out there as it would be limited to i would say 5 slots and would only be able to hold account bound items.
why do people care about the champ trains? How does it negatively affect your experience in the game?
Guild wars should have an account bag for items such as infinite gathering tools and salvage-o-matic and anything else that is meant to be used on an account basis. bag would be available by all characters and act as another bag but would only take account bound items
1 was more of a way to give lower pop servers more of a chance, but 2 was the real key fix. i like the idea of slow filling the servers the only issue is it could become hard to get onto servers with friends. Although a solution to this may be say open up server registration a week before and you and your friends can queue for the server you want.
2 things that would help WvW are as follows.
1) simply make players unpassable. This would fix alot of the our zerg is larger so we win problems. This would also make choke points actual choke points. Would also force mores tratagy.
2) get rid of servers for WvW. Keep the seasons going, get rid of leagues. At the start of the season guilds are assigned to teams, whatever guild you are repping when season starts determines your team, if not repping a guild you are individually assigned to a server. With this have a guild WvW score that takes into account how many players do WvW and how often. This score would be based on repping and non repping numbers. Use these scores to balance players across teams.
how about this ppt structure to balance things. 1 ppt for all structures you own in your territory, basically your bl and your third of the ebg, and thats it. so it becomes a game of take enemey structures to prevent them from geting points and hold yours to keep you ppt up. SMC would give no points it woud be a strategic structure for faster map travel and the ability to siege enemy structures. this would prevent these huge ppt score differentials because one server has more presence in a specific time period. should also keep scores closer
Something to keep in mind, T1 and T2 servers are not the majority. While it may be negatively effecting your servers, for many lower tiers it is having a positive effect. Personally i was happy to actually see heavy queues over the weekend as we generally only had this for a couple hours a week before. Also most pugs for our server are doing well at cooperating. Also to Obsidians post about nfl players getting incentives for say number of sacks, some players do get contracts with such incentives be it not on a game basis but on a season basis.
The boss week achievements need to be removed from dailies. I am fine with having a complete a world boss achievement but participating in teq achievement is just plain stupid. What this has become is watch for teq event, go to teq event, kill a risen, wait for event to end. I have not seen more then 5 people at this event in the last couple of weeks. please remove boss week achievements from rotation.
have had this problem a million times, generally from rallying at the same time i go down.
So the new dungeon path is fun and i enjoy it to start. My biggest issue is with graphics performance. This is an issue that is getting worse and worse over time. Very noticable here though. When going from the forest section to the factory section of the dungeon fps drops by as much as 15 fps. I tested this by walking between the two and looking at fps. As said before this is a problem more then just here but when you have an achievement that is dependent on timing, don’t get shocked, it becomes a larger problem. what i can say is when i got the game around a year ago i would run around 40-45 fps in most places on a little less then medium graphics settings. Now on lowest graphic settings for everything i am running around 20-25 fps. Once again this is a problem.
I have beaten the fight 2 times but i still think the fight is too much. I think the simplest fix would be to have to fight start with a mega-laser event and reduce timer to 10 minutes. Just my thought what do other people think? This should allow for smaller pop servers to complete the event.

not sure how it works but i am guessing that the bonuses for the WvW skills stack. So if you fully upgrade guard killer you would have an extra 15% damage to guards. Like i said i am not sure about this but based on the cost of abilities and difficulty to get this makes the most sense, especially since the cost goes up at each level. The reason i came to this conclusion is because some of the siege skills that give abilities stack, and the cost of extra supply would be even more ridiculous if this was not the case.
to start yes people in the tower should be able to shoot you and you not them, This is an inherent advantage people in tower should have as they are in a defensible position while you are out in the open. If you want it to be so people outside the tower can hit people inside then towers then tower defenders should have some sort of buff that causes them to take say 1-5% of normal damage from direct attacks because once again shooting down on people from a tower is a huge advantage in combat and this should be reflected.
In game economy is never a good reason to change something, period.
biggest problem with mount idea is how does a norn ride a dog? an asura could ride a dog but not a norn, so this would get difficult as you would have to have race specific for which pets are mountable
While i agree this can be annoying, when people are legit AFK as in they have left there house and their comp is just siting on, which there is no way for you to know. There are a few problems with trying to deal with this. The first is what kind of condition is there you could kick them on? I can think of alot of conditions but everyone of them can be counter argued by legitimate things a person could be doing. The second part is i know people who when they have other stuff to do will leave there toon in a keep and just leave the screen up for defensive purposes, so if the keep starts to get attacked they can let people know to get defense there.
