Here’s my collection. 4 lvl 80s with 25+AR
The Dagger skin looks pretty cool. Too bad I have one just sitting in my bank.
Pretty much everything here has already been mentioned. Nikaido.3457 mentioned it briefly earlier; gw2posts requiring an absurd amount of AR for content that doesn’t even require it is quickly becoming a big problem, in my opinion. It’s great to have 45AR, but if you have multiple alts that enjoy doing FOTM on, you probably evened out their AR levels to about 30 – 35AR/ea (at least this is what I did). Apparently this is not enough for the above said groups — which appears to be increasing daily.
^ How many is “all”?
Posted this in the other thread but got no feedback:
My suggestion would be something along these lines:
Player receives a Fractal skin of their choosing after completing 20 dailies in the FOTM 10-18 range.
Player receives a Fractal skin of their choosing after completing 15 dailies in the FOTM 20-28 range.
Player receives a Fractal skin of their choosing after completing 10 dailies in the FOTM 30-38 range.
Player receives a Fractal skin of their choosing after completing 5 dailies in the FOTM 40-48 range.
These values could change, but basically I agree that players running 40+ dailies should be awarded more than a player running 30 – 38 dailies.. and so on.
Congrats on the 1H Sword.
if you want to join those groups just buy all berz/ruby and they’ll accept you
Who is “they”?
It’s not that we don’t believe you, Chauntry. Btw, what are your character names in GW2? Maybe I’ve run with you since I try to do 2 48 dailies everyday.
Also agreeing with Rising Dusk.2408 regarding skins having a much higher chance to drop from 46+ dailies.
How were you performing in the first 3 fractals? Were you ever AFK? Not contributing? Anything that you shouldn’t be doing in a dungeon run?
Pretty crappy though if you were holding your own.

Nice video. That Mesmer was amazing.
Here are my thoughts regarding this matter:
First, I’d rather go over some of the points already discussed in this thread:
Allow players to purchase the skins. Make it a lofty price. Say 50 Pristine and 10 Shards of Mist.
I understand that you want to see some “light at the end of the tunnel”, I do as well. The issue I see with this idea is that FOTM scale 10 awards one Prestine, and FOTM scale 48 awards one prestine. If Anet were to take your advice, it would make more sense to farm scale 10. Which then brings up the question of, do you really want people stuck in the 10-19 bracket to be awarded skins? Keep in mind, just about anyone could level an alt character to scale 10 within 2-3 days.
Take the RNG out of the equation and after running X number of dailies give them a random skin.
This is something along the lines I was thinking of too. However, I would prefer that Anet track an account’s activity in FOTM:
How many times has this account run a daily in the 10-19 bracket? 20-29 bracket? 30-39 bracket? etc..
My suggestion would be something along these lines:
Player receives a Fractal skin of choosing after completing 20 dailies in the FOTM 10-18 range.
Player receives a Fractal skin of choosing after completing 15 dailies in the FOTM 20-28 range.
Player receives a Fractal skin of choosing after completing 10 dailies in the FOTM 30-38 range.
Player receives a Fractal skin of choosing after completing 5 dailies in the FOTM 40-48 range.
Just an idea, but I really think you should try to reward players more on skill and effort as opposed to double randomness if over 20.
Solution #2
Increase the drop rate for someone with the 500/500 achievement. Or as they go up the ladder of completion. (personally I’m not a huge fan of this).
Wow, this!
Good luck with recruitment.
Seems like the story with every guild — Tired of fractals.
Thanks for clarifying what SC meant.
be glad you didn’t get dredge.
SC dungeons? How many members at Fractals 30+?
That sucks.
The person being callvote kicked doesn’t receive any notification. Only the others that aren’t pending a a kick can see it / vote .
Also, only 1 other person needs to agree with the person doing the kicking.
Weird, I know. The callvote kick system needs some modifications.
Guardian, but you can’t fix stupid.
Yawn indeed. fifteen
Bump for outcasts
I’m still confused on why they do not want us to progress unless we have the appropriate amount of AR. I guess they disliked the idea of players reaching the 80 cap with 25AR?
However, they are releasing new AR gear very slowly.
Do they not understand that not everyone wants to be a casual FOTM player?
I am disappointed in Anet’s choice in this regard.
Hang onto them, IMO.
I carry every group I join, because I am the best player in the game. This is a fact, by the way.
Hahaha, yeah right.
Agreed with all the above.
I agree with this topic. Something really should be done to improve FOTM.
Get rid of “Pure of Voice” and use Soldier runes instead. Then take 2H mastery, Empowering Might, and Shout CD reduction.

Hello,
I have a proposal on how to improve the current Looking For Group system. I think anyone that has been playing the game for a while has heard about gw2lfg.com at some point or another and uses that now primarily as their way to find a group or more players for a dungeon.
As a 5 year veteran of the WoW game, I did, for the most part, enjoy the Dungeon Finder group they implemented. However, they used a system where groups were matched up by the Gear the players were wearing. As in, high item level players were typically matched up with other high item level players.
I think this could be improved and you could pick up the slack where WoW left off.
Implement some type of system where you can be queued for a dungeon and be matched up with players that have the same amount of Experience as you.
Example:
Player A queues up for an Arah Path 3 dungeon group.
GW2 gathers stats about Player A for further processing…
Results:
Player A has never run Arah Path 3 before on any character on this account. Result = Y(85)
Player A is primarily in blue and green quality gear. Result = X(15)
FinalResult = Y(85) + X(15)
Player A is matched up with players who have relatively the same FinalResult value.
Experience = 85% factored
Gear = 15% factored
__
Another Example:
Player A queues for Arah Dungeon path 3
Player A has completed Arah Dungeon path 3 87 times on his/her account.
Player A is full Exotics and Ascended Gear.
Player A is matched up with Player B whos stats are:
Completed Arah 82 times
Is in all Exotic / Ascended gear
__
Well, I hope someone likes this idea. I realize it’s probably a lot of work from a coding standpoint. I really enjoy this game but think it could use a better LFG system than the one it currently has.
Best regards
First, I’d like to commend you for at least admitting to yourself that you need improvement. — Most people are ignorant and won’t admit this to themselves and therefore.. never improve.
If you find yourself dying a alot, try to build up a Exotic set with Power Vitality Toughness stats. I believe HOTW and AC are the only dungeons that have these stats but I am probably missing one other.
Also, pick up a Hammer. Hammer is great for mitigating damage. -33% incoming damage is huge and has a near 100% uptime. However, some fights require that you range mostly.
Playing as ranged with a Scepter Focus or Shield is nice. Make use of 3 skill on Scepter to immobilize your foe if you need to gain some distance. Shield 4 is awful damage but grants you and your party Protection if aimed properly. I use it as range if I’m expecting some ranged damage and Shield 5 is on CD.
Focus 5 is also nice but is a bit selfish compared to a properly placed Shield 5.
Go with Soldier Runes 6PC (Superior Sigil of the Soldier) in your gear to remove conditions. Also I recommend always using “Hold the Line!” as a shout.
Use a build like 0/0/30/30/10.
Once you get better, you can start replacing your gear with Berserkers for more damage / less survivability.
Hope this helps. I realize it’s probably a bit random but unfortunately didn’t have time to properly format this.
I was wondering if anyone has beat me in that record if one exists lol.
:\
Fractal Greatsword
Thanks for this guide
Regarding your build, the Valor tree has so many good selective traits, I am surprised you only have 10 in there. I then assume your gear is all PVT for the loss of points in traits.
Thank you for your advice, yLoon.5289 — much appreciated.
I particularly liked this idea:
For Gnawl Stage, you need to have Shield, Hammer, Scepter for the CC to prevent hostage being killed.
Our 5 skill on shield does have a nice knockback
What do you think of Virtues I – Increased damage by 20% when you are affected with Aegis? I don’t use it on fights that require reflects but for everything else it seems pretty nice. Although I’m pretty new to Guardian and am not sure how long my Aegis is staying up.
Hi,
I’m looking for some builds that you can vouch for to use in Fractals 40+. Some explanations on why you use certain gear / traits / weapons would be appreciated.
Thanks
I have a question about: Pure of Voice (Honor XI)
Will the boon (I assume random) still be granted to allies that are not affected by a condition?
Or is the condition required in order to receive boon.
Hi Eveningstar.6940,
Very nice guide so far. I am still reading it now. I came across a minor typo incase you want to correct it:
“but I want this idea percolating in your minds for a whiel.”
It’s under the “Understanding Weapons” section. Alternatively you can CTRL+F it.
Also pretty useful for the Mesmer boss in TA (path 2?) She constantly casts 3 boons on herself and puts Confusion debuff on you. Maybe if you get hit by her AOE you can get rid of more conditions
Good to know. Figures why I haven’t seen it in a while :P
Last boss in Twilight Arbor with the Oak Tree npcs.
He constantly puts up 3 boons throughout the fight.
__
Also in TA:
One of the red circles you are supposed to avoid from the very last boss puts a bleed stack of 10.
__
Underwater Jellyfish fight in fractals 25 might stacks. He rarely does this though. Still not many better underwater choices IMO.
It’s more useful in PVP IMO.
Nice videos and guide.

It was a nice video though, thanks for sharing. Nice use of focus pull. You were giving that poor Elementalist so much trouble
