I feel as if most of you were given a nice new Porsche after having driven a Honda Civic for the past few years, you’d complain that the pedals aren’t the same distance from your feet.
..negating the whole..you know..Porsche part.
you hit the nail on the head.
the attitude of the forums was actually making me doubt my enjoyment in the game. lol
sounds doable. their PVP structure for sPVP opens the doors for a TON of options.
MOBA
Arena-style combat.
things like that.
Male Charr Ranger Weaponsmith Leatherworker
Kirk, once you play GW2, you will not be able to enjoy WoW’s gameplay any more.
Happened with me at least.
The best so far is someone calling his female charr a bad—- and coming out badkitten.
So full of win!
Who’s a bad kitten? You are! Yes, you are!
Purely full of win.
From my experience, every profession is ridiculously fun.
So much so that I still have not chosen a main. Although, I AM leaning towards my Charr ranger.
Would like to see smaller-scale sPVP.
2v2’s
3v3’s
edit: And give rangers the ability to use rifles, or at least the Charr rangers.
this would be better in the suggestions forum.
agree 100%, i feel in gw2 after hit 80 like in d3 after beat infierno, just mindless grind without any reward, nerfing any good farming spot and forcing me to play how they want, i hope this change or the game fail as hard as d3 so new games dont copy this.
I actually tried D3. It was prettykittenfun.
How can a non-sub game “fail”, pay tell?
People calling this pay to win have no idea what pay to win is.
WoT = pay to win.
Silkroad = pay to win.
DDO = pay to win.
GW2 is not pay to win.
I get very offended if someone in my vicinity aggro’s neutral wildlife with AOE
I really try hard not to do this and just sometimes love to /sit and watch the wildlife- boom! aoe! but meh it is not a huge thing
I also hate killing corrupted Quagans it feels like bashing kitties- and they are the worst! they do soooo much damage
I also feel bad for harpies
Once I was in a cave trying to mine ore and this huge bear came at me so I killed it- then the cubs came out and attacked me! man I felt so bad I ran away- killing cubs? O_o
I love your account name. Best character in the Dragon Age series.
On topic? I think i ran into that same cave. Those cubs were REALLY mad that their mother was dead. They tasted pretty good.
@Brutus
Yes. The blood legion missions are AWESOME.
I originally didn’t like the Charr race simply because of their horns, but now theyre my favorite race.
Edit: I saw they acknowledged it.
OK so relax guys. Whats the fuss?
Because people have been putting up with it for days. It was poorly tested. They need a PTR, cause release has proven one thing. If they make something, we can break it.
I am a software tester. That picture you linked is LITERALLY five feet from me on the wall.
HAHAHAHAHAHA.
on-topic, i think they’ll get this fixed before I hit 80 (i’m only lvl 15 right now. =P)
Throwing axes for rangers.
Best idea EVER.
and, the charr story. <3 it.
edit: Bet you can guess my profession/race!
but…..you’re REGINA!
brown nosing aside, I didnt even notice the filter, just figured that people were throwing around some meme that I didn’t know about.
Zhaitan’s fangs!
as in: Zhaitan’s fangs, that was a hard dungeon!
I facepalmed when I first saw this stat on the live build of the game. Why would you even put this in a game? It’s clear that everyone’s gonna take it instead of the stats that they should be taking. I’m very disappointed, Anet.
Except there’s no real stats you ‘should’ be taking. All stats work for all specs, 95% of the time.
Tired of seeing you imply that Magic Find as a stat is even REMOTELY beneficial when looked at from a group perspective.
Please, tell me how it is beneficial. Just try. You can’t.
I’ll support this. The “Zerg” mentality is highly annoying in this game, and seems to be quite prevalent.
ANet, please remove these annoyances now. They don’t do akittenthing to stop bots or gold sellers. ALL THEY DO IS DISRUPT LEGIT PLAYERS. Honestly, developers need to stop and think about these restrictive practices from a player prospective before ever adding them.
Additionally, in what game has these restrictions ever impacted gold sellers? None, why?
They don’t care, in-fact these restrictions empower them, to them it doesn’t matter if there is a restriction on how much they can transfer all they care about is that someone payed them and they have a prospective new account to steal.
This.
These annoyance do NOTHING to hamper gold sellers/bots. All they do is hamper the legitimate players.
Currently, Toughness and Healing Power do not scale up well at all.
I think the coefficients they use could be buffed without turning this into a “tank & spank” game.
This.
They dont need to bring the trinity back; they just need to make it POSSIBLE to stack toughness and be effective. Same with healing power.
Those stats, currently, are nearly useless.
+1.
I wholeheartedly agree.
I would be happy if the two weapons were just alternated between.
Wait, you can’t? How so, I’m pretty sure I sent a couple dozen silver and other items to friends.. is there a limit on how much one can mail or something?
Yeah, I learned it the hard way. I was going to place a gold piece in the Gbank for a friend to get guild armor and hit an “account” limit. you basically get a window telling you that “new” accounts are set to a limit that will increase as you progress. Today, a guildmate was placing crafting material in the Gbank for me to make him items and he hit an account value limit with that.
So…I cant even make him an armor set. Best part, he placed basic mats in first, I told him to take those out and give me the rares instead…and he cant even withdraw them…value goes over the limit.
This was not thought out very well by Anet.
That just sounds absolutely ridiculous.
+1 OP, i agree.
It would be nice to see animations account for both weapons. No need for any combat mechanic changes when it’s just a visual aesthetic being changed.
I would be perfectly happy if my character rotated between his two weapons when auto-attacking.
Dungeons should reward you better for doing well not just punish you for doing badly

Good addition Kal.
It would inherently deter griefers, although you could just kick em. lol

I support this.
Give higher rewards for performing well. I think the current reward would suffice as the “Bronze” reward.
Amp it up for better performance.
I wholeheartedly support this.
Can we get a collectibles tab for RARE crafting materials? What about dungeon tokens?

Would love this too.
How is a “rare” crafting item not considered a “collectible” when I tell my bag to “deposit all collectibles”
Rare crafting items should be in the collectibles tab.
I really don’t see anything wrong with this.
Maybe even add a stat modifier for each level of prestige. (probably a bad idea, but I still like it)
Or just give some sort of reward for each level of prestige.
Removing the “holy trinity” is all well and good, but when you remove the ability to customize your character, there is a problem.
As it stands, there is no reason to focus on toughness/vitality—-theyre useless stats when stacked.
And healing as a stat? Useless when there is no way to successfully and consistently heal.
I’ve come to the conclusion that healing as a stat on quite a few profs is mainly to try to get your self heal to a one hit almost full max heal for yourself.
But when you die in 2-3 hits in a dungeon, using a different stat other than healing would be better, seeing as how those 2-3 hits take a matter of seconds, while your personal heal usually is a much longer cooldown.
And don’t get me started on toughness/vitality stacking. If a character chooses to stack those, they SHOULD be able to take hits like a pro. I’m not talking about tanking, I’m talking about just being HARD.TO.KILL.
Currently a toughness/Vitality player dies just about as fast as a glass cannon, which isn’t right.
oh, allright. It was just an idea that popped into my head.
Would still like to see it as a toggle, but I don’t really care either way.
What the title says.
Kinda hard to feel like a “god among mere mortals” when you still have trouble killing lvl 5’s.

I’ve never noticed diminishing returns on dynamic events, only on traditional single-mob/area farming.
Theyre there, trust me.
There are already snipers in the game—-Blood Legion story mode comes to mind.
This would be awesome. Actually, this is the reason I don’t play my engi currently, thought they would be a nice long-range class, but in truth most of their abilities like to make you get in your opponent’s face.

Whats next ? Stop sign for jumping puzzles ? “You can not do more than 1 jumping puzzle every day” .
This is how I’m feeling about this currently. If ANET wants to restrict my progression from playing this game, I can think of plenty of other games out there that would be GLAD to have me playing their game for hours on end.
And you can guarantee that I am not the only one.
But, I really hope that ANET does the smart thing here, otherwise a good chunk of their playerbase will probably leave.

But no, seriously, if you’re mad because you can’t just sit in one area and kill one thing over and over, go play something else. We won’t miss you.
Actually, I’m pretty sure that ANET will, seeing as how their entire cash shop model of income RELIES on players being willing to spend money on this game. In other words, they need PLAYERS in the first place.
The argument of “We won’t miss you” is probably the most ignorant thing I have ever seen about the MMORPG genre’s playerbase.
Truthfully, YOU won’t miss anyone being gone, but the company who owns the game most certainly will.
edit: Sorry for the double post, figured the thread was moving faster than that.

diminishing returns on farming is just plain idiotic.
If I’m farming irl, and its harvesting season, the amount of corn I get from spending more time in the combine isn’t decreased simply because I’ve been harvesting CORN for the past three weeks.
Thanks, I needed a good laugh today. Not sure how reality factors into a high-fantasy video game.
So, do you have a logical explanation why you would progressively get less from killing mobs over and over again?
no? kkthanxbai
Because it’s a game in which the point is to not stand around killing mobs over and over again.
Who are you to tell me how I play my game?
The “point” of the game is subjective to whomever is determining what it is.
I could just as easily say the “point” of the game is to buy stuff from the cash shop and run around the city in my town garb looking like a throwback from a Rocky Balboa movie.

You’re telling ANet to go and play an MMO that’s about to go belly up? Great advice.
May not change the fact the one aspect of the game was done better than ANET’s attempt.
Personally, I found the dungeons (flashpoints) in SWTOR to be the best dungeon experience I have had as of yet.
roles are a bad idea. pugs should be easy to obtain. i can heal rez and do damage. so can everyone else though they do it differently. and this is an unbelievable boon when trying to do a dungeon or even an event… a no healer even isnt likely to be done by anyone. careful what you wish for.
I ALWAYS play a healer.—-Your argument is moot seeing as how in nearly every MMO the tanks are the ones hard to find.
Personally, I think it was a dumb idea to “get rid” of the holy trinity in favor of every hero being a dps.
This is a dps’s game. Spec tank? Oh, you still can’t take more than a couple hits in a dungeon. Spec healer? Nothing you do keeps your party alive for long.
They removed the ability to customize your character.
I don’t understand all the hate you people are bringing down. What is wrong with options? And to address you DavidGX I do not like WOW. Stop hating please.
Everyone who’s played WoW will realize why your idea is terrible.
I played WoW for four years. Got tired of it but loved a dps counter, so again please answer the question as to what is wrong with more options? It is a matter of principle.
DPS meters simply can’t account for everything that’s actually required to play this game well. Perfect gear levels and rotations aren’t how this game works. If you like that kind of thing then you’re free to go back to WoW, install a DPS meter and have fun.
Damage doesn’t have to be the only thing it counts. Boons applied, conditions removed, CCs, interrupts, buffs, healing, revives, you name it. Recount did way more than damage, which you may recall if you spend a second to not blindly hate everything that came about inadvertently due to a Blizzard title.
That last sentence convinced me that you’re just trolling. If you’d like to discuss and not troll, let me know.
Regardless of whether or not he is trolling, he made a good point about the information provided by Recount. There WAS a lot more than just raw dmg/dps.
I ran recount, I’m aware of what information it showed. It would be a terrible thing for this game, though, because this game isn’t all about gear and DPS. I’d rather play the game and focus on what I’m trying to do/kill/not be killed by. Not watching a little window to see who’s rotation isn’t perfect, this isn’t that game. You don’t need an addon to see if you’re doing poorly, or see if someone else is. Not once in a dungeon have I ever wished I had recount. It was always easy to see if I’m or someone else is running into a boss and dying, or not attacking enough, or not ressing, etc.
And those are valid points. Which is one of the reasons I said that a DPS meter should be implemented, but ONLY for personal use; not to rate others, but to only rate yourself.

I’m having trouble grasping this: You said you did not like WoW, but then state that you played it for four years? Why would you waste so much time on a game you don’t like?
Doesn’t change the fact that group meters were bad. A personal dps meter is a different story though.
I would be more happy if they just had complete add-on support.
I saw the light to say, got tried of the game in general and grew to hate it. I am loving GW2 so far thou.
It would probably be more accurate to state that the game moved in a direction that you did not agree with, then.
If you didn’t like the game at first, you wouldn’t have stayed.

I loved recount/dps meters. The only reason I said to have it ONLY be personal is because of the dps meter haters out there.
Legendary weapons are not any more powerful then another weapon, just looks alot nicer, so no, there is no reason to make them easier to get. They are the VERY final weapons in the game, you don’t want everyone running around using them within a month, if you want one then go and work hard for it instead of being lazy
i know his sentence structure sucked, but your comprehension of his suggestion is just plain bad.
He’s asking for legendary weapons to have better stats. In which case I do not agree with him.
Is the only problem with DPS counters that someone’s flaws might be revealed and they’ll be pressured to play the game more optimally?
Back in the game that must not be named, I was on multiple occasions kicked out of parties for having terrible DPS. As the healer. The idea of a DPS meter can be good on paper, but once you add the ‘idiot variable’ it becomes just a terrible idea.
I highly doubt you were ever kicked out for having bad dps as a healer.
now, bad hps as a healer, i can see.

Members buying their skillbooks is what personal income is for.
Members repairing their armor is what personal income is for.
Members buying armor sets is what personal income is for. Also: Repeating the same thing does not make it more important. Especially when it is only meant as a minor augment to an already existing primary acquisition method.
Those were examples. He asked what the guild could use the money for, not for REASONS why a guild would want money.
You can’t argue, those are all legitimate uses for guild gold.
And yes, since influence can be bought with gold, every use for influence is also a use for gold.
I would support this, one one condition:
It is a personal dps meter. In order to experiment with different builds, it would be nice to see actual DPS numbers for my own character.
note: this will not show dps of other party members or ANY other players.
