Seven hours tonight (so far) and four hours yesterday. This is beyond discouraging.

Also, and this is just my humble opinion, but people being able to get MULTIPLE portals is beyond stupid. They’re literally barring someone else from getting access to the beta.

I don’t think it works like that. There isn’t a finite number of Portals available. They will just keep dropping until ArenaNet feels enough accounts have the marker to fill the Beta. It doesn’t matter if one player loots 20 of them; it only shows one account.

I’d love to hear some clarification from ArenaNet on this issue. What does it signify that someone can loot more than one Portal to the Heart of Maguuma? I have to admit that seeing people link that they’ve gotten 2, 3, and even 4 portals when I haven’t seen one drop really bothers me. Of course I’d like to get one, but I’d think that once someone loots the portal, that stops them from looting another because they’ve already unlocked the access to the beta on that specific account.

I was going through maps I hadn’t finished for 100% map completion, and noticed that “Help Paenula Train Troops” wasn’t working properly. I saw that there have been other posts about this, but for fear of posting in an old thread, I felt I had to make another topic so that this can get addressed.

The pit fight, specifically, is the most enjoyable aspect to this heart event- although the rifle weapon skill 5 is not consistently available, and if you just use the other skills 1-4, it’ll just kill the drake or minotaur, and you won’t get credit for the heart.

Please fix the pit fight, it’s one of the best hearts on that map, and it needs to be available for people to complete the map!

I wonder if there’s a way ANet can make an ability in the options menu to disable viewing someone’s guild name (and guild tag)?

It’s obvious people who choose to have inappropriate and insulting guild names and tags are just doing it to harass players, and they’re getting away with it because there’s no real system in place to quickly reprimand violators. If ANet could make a filter, similar to the curse word filter already in place, to just toggle off/on the ability to view other players guild name and tag, it will give a relief to those of us who shouldn’t be subjected to vile and rude guild names and tags.

So a giant metal fem-bot is ok, but just a boot dropping from the sky is going too far? Oh well :-P

Unless you truly want to waste your gems, Mistress, you might want to not test your theory on the gem store armor that you bought.

This is something my husband put a ticket in for and he was denied help with recovering either the gems to rebuy the primeval set OR the refunding the actual primeval armor piece skin that was on the armor that he “accidentally salvaged”.

He didn’t get a warning, a confirmation window or anything… I’m sure if he’d seen a window pop up, he’d read it- like most of us would.

Perhaps this is “working as intended” so that ANet can sell more gem store armor?

I know I’m not the only one who would gladly buy the gems to purchase a Finisher that features the High Heel Boot from the Marionette fight. It would be so glorious to drop that finisher in wvwvw and pvp fights :-)

As guild names can be just as, if not more so, offensive as regular character names, it should be just as easy to report offensive guild names as it is the character’s name. (I do appreciate your suggestion, and will use it until ArenaNet looks into this issue and hopefully makes a change).

So I know that I can report someone’s name for being offensive, or something that breaks the Agreement that we all signed, but is there a way that they can make that for guild names as well?

There have been a number of guilds that either are demeaning to women, make references to statutory kitten (as if it is something to joke about), etc. When you target a player that belongs and is repping that guild, it only gives an option to report their specific name, when I want to report their guild name.

I thought my hearing was going bad, so I’m kind of glad it’s not just me :-)

I don’t know if the voice actor skipped a few words on the sentence he (or she, i don’t know) was reading, or if they were omitted on purpose.
This is what it sounded like to me:

“She has grad designs.” (Grand, if said like you had a cold…)

“She succeed at all costs.” (This makes no sense to me whatsover, so maybe i missed a word that was inaudible?"

“Even if she has to kill every last one of you!”

I don’t know what server you’re on, but there are most often many players who are willing to help out newer folk- asking in mapchat is an easy way to get a bit of help… but besides that, I’ll try to answer a few of your questions:

1. This varied, for me, as there are professions that felt “easier to level” than the others… I really enjoyed necromancer, guardian, mesmer and ranger. They fit me better, I suppose, than the warrior, thief, elementalist, and engineer. My suggestion is to give them all a try, and see what works for you. (btw, engineer got a lot more fun for me when I went shield/pistol and for traits I went into potions… my leveling went a LOT faster for me, and I loved it.)

2. Same thing as #1 above in the sense that some of your weapon skills and chosen skills 6, 7, 8, and 9 can work together beautifully; i.e. use skill button that puts a condition- like vulnerability on the enemy and then use a skill right afterward to hit them for a lot more than you would if you just used the skill to hurt them. Also, rangers have the benefit of making their own “combo” shots, i.e. use a torch/axe… with torch put down a fire ring (don’t recall the name of it) and then throw axes through it at an enemy = more damage than you would have caused than just throwing the axe.
There are other great combo fields you can use, and take a good look at the various weapon skills, and then at the skills you can “buy” with skill points… it’s a great way to be an effective player.

3. Ok, I’m assuming you’re in Caldeon Forest… go into The Grove which is the “main city” of the Sylvari, and there will be portals you can take to Lion’s Arch, which houses more portals that allow you to go to each of the main cities of the norn, charr, human, and asura.

Feel free to add me as a friend, I’d absolutely try to help port you up to the spot for the waypoint so you can make your vote- and I’m sorry for you getting such negative comments on your post, you don’t deserve that- you were only asking a question.

All I can suggest is perhaps buying a gem card for the friend that you want to gift items off the BLTC… or perhaps send them cash via paypal so they can buy gems with their paypal account.

Of course, when I buy my husband gem cards as gifts, I always end up buying a gem card for myself for the times I know I’ll find something there I want (like the new spring mini pets, who are completely adorable!) :-)

Thank you to those who have posted already- I think i should clarify- my work schedule permits me to play Monday – Friday after 5:30 pm to (roughly) 11:00pm PST… weekends, I’m relatively free to play all day.

I am hoping to find a guild, who I’d gladly rep 100% if the guild events are in those windows of time that I’m free to play.

Again, I really appreciate the above posts, and look forward to hearing from more guilds.

Title says it all. I’m on Tarnished Coast, and because of my set work times, I’m in need of a guild that sets their event times based on PST.

Totally agree. The placement of the shadowy scythe in the middle of the staff is rather ridiculous. It makes me not want to play my necromancer until they fix it.

TC was pretty troll free since it is the RP server
On TC I have been pushed to the overflow 30 minutes before the window open for some events.

We never had a problem getting the event started, and we keep out timers pretty close. I think that was part of the reason people on other forums designated our server as “The Official Guesting Server.” If the events were once a day things then sure i can understand hopping servers to try and hit one, but when an event pops five to seven times a day? Now we have horrible lag at the dragons (worse than before). Not getting the events do to overflows even when you are there way before the event window opens. Trolls harassing the Role Players who are native to the server because they are RPing.

I totally agree with this post. I’m on TC and I’ve noticed the lag with the dragons, and with the other chest spawning events, but my main complaint is with how a lot of the people guesting are being extremely rude/crude in mapchat (in all zones).

Not only do we have horrible lag, but we also have to put up with “your mom” jokes and other “barrens-chat” in our community, at least until they jump to another server and do the same to them.

I don’t know how this can be fixed, but I certainly hope it does get handled, until then, my mapchat is off so I don’t have to see it.
