Bumping this to the first page since it affects a lot of people if we could get an update of a possible fix or advice from anet it would be much appreciated

I have this exact same issue many others too but this being the most annoying I have also tested many other games only this game it’s a game changer in PvP ha it really is Anet please do something about this

Such a nooby question new engi so for dungeons I need to focus on berserker gear caus atm got the ascalonian gear with power precision and condi is that the wrong type I’m almost hitting 80 too also rifle or pistol?

Rather calling for buffs I think necro is fine tone warrior down but I’m a noob I have no valid point

I run pretty tanky with good Condi removal I’m saying necros put out decent damage and can be really tanky

On my engi if I see a necro I have run and hide , hope he doesn’t see me to not get insta killed I’m not a top player but yeah

Think this thread needs bumping back to page one I have this problem in PvP sometimes it really can lose the game. Tried with 3 different mice razor Naga was the worst

Currently running amd fx8320 with a GTX 660 wanting to upgrade to an I5 would I have to buy a new windows too ?

Thing is my case is tiny like I don’t think I have anywhere to put another small fan surely I should complain to pcspecialist for selling me something that doesn’t exactly work what do you reakon ?

This may sound stupid but do I want the fan blowing towards the vrm or sucking air away ? Any cheap fan do the trick I do have a corsair h60 but I’m not sure what it’s doing ha thought that would be enough to keep a unclocked system cool

so i really want to come back to gw2 loved the game before when i quit it was because a fps crash i get often in pvp and dungeons etc , i was told it was throttling but its only for this game my cpu voltage drops from 1.3v to like 0.8v but its not overheating. my cpu is an amd 8320 @3.5ghz please help me fix this i will help with whatever info i can i can play at 40+ fps but not 11-12 when it drops ha !

The title isn’t super clear but last time i played i seem to have alot of trouble running this thing on my setup. I should of been able to handle decent graphics but there was something wrong with reflections and shadows and all sorts of bugs ? any of this been fixed ?
how is PVP right now ? decent meta any new game modes its been a while ?

okay i’ve literally had the same problem as you mine was on desktop though. its most likely throttling due to heat. i only have the problem with this game too but anyway, what i did to solve the issue was make sure all drivers are up to date etc and lowered the voltage on my cpu stops it heating up so much and added a fan over the VRM’s since my MOBO was rubbish. have you checked your temps ? and the limit of safe temperature under load?

okay so i found my problem – have not yet solved it ( at work) this is my MOBO -M5A78L-M/USB3 – it turns out its the VRM overheating causing it to throttle…who knew aye. wierd it only really happens with gw2 but anyway sobe you were right its the MOBO only thing is shall i just get a decent MOBO or shall i just wack a cheap fan over the VRM’s ?

Reakon we could get a reply from the devs about this possability or what type of game modes they are going to be bringing in if any would be nice to know something is on the way

All drivers are up to date corsair 550w gold standard, 8gb ram @1600 graphics card gtx 660 3gb and my fx 8320 non oc @3.5ghz and running windows 64 bit client home sp1 im not at home right now so i will have to let you know about the motherboard when i say voltage dropping its mainly in pvp, and dungeons even in small groups but not really world exploration. it drops to like 0.6v from 1.3v~ tested it with cod and stuff and BF3+ BF4 beta no major drops under load. not throttling on temps either @55 ’c underload

my core voltage only drops with this game, its steady on all other games well fluctuates within the .1v range. though my motherboard appears to be missing the place to set the LLC. in my manual there is a collum where on my bios does actually not have to collum since you seem to know your stuff … any help on this ? just want to play my game !!

This would be an amazing feature impliment this pvp numbers would be boosted im sure of it !

i have this exact problem any solution found please tell me LOL i dont want to play the game on awful graphics either ! and it occasionally happens on worst settings for me !

Also lastly i have disabled any program’s in the background or stuff that may affect gameplay and have done full clean installs of everything and reset bios ! thats all, may have missed some stuff i tried but im sure there is a start for ya !

Think i forgot to mention i have already checked that the card is in the right pci-e and is reading all x16 lanes the cpu never heated past 50 cool n qiuet is disabled to stop slowing of performance etc

Sorry there was kind of another thread with the problem, it was average around 40-60 fps per second would drop to 20 fps even if you were standing still you just had to have other players around you or in LA. it was a heavy V droop on the CPU voltage. When the fps drops happened the Voltage dropped from average 1.32v to 0.6v~ lowering the multiplier of the GPU etc.
Me and the techs literally went through every solution on forum’s and the internet to solve this , such as disable turbo boost, forcing voltage to stay stable in settings in the bios recomended graphic settings , updates to drivers on MB GPU WINDOWS deleting 2 folders which help FX CPU perform better on windows 7 umm a couple more i can’t think of in the moment.
The only game my Voltage of the CPU drops on aswell, well fluctuates beyond the average, all other games run smooth as butter lol
your welcome to relook and go through more suggestions i would be grateful but as ive said we looked through everything we could find sorry to seem so negative bit bummed off that the second rig i have built the game ran poorly on. I’m not made out of money aha grinded for 3 parts of the arah gear on my ele too … would be a shame to waste it !

yes i have got my pc back from the techs after hours of breezing through my computer testing everything i have come to the conclusion of what i first thought. My fps is nothing to do with my pc.
This only happens with this game kind of suggests it also having to quit guild wars because the game is poorly optimized sucks real bad ah well! would love them to work on their game rather than releases non permanent content bi weekly
would love to know if they make any technological improvements maybe i will play again ! Too many bugs/glitches with this game !!

i have the 8320 and it does run this game ok in open world PVE but even for 8v8 PVP frames drop up to 20 or so and world bosses slide shows of 8fps i may aswell have a dual core with no graphics card and will see similar results for world fights lol

My pc has gone back atm they think it may well be underperforming slightly but pffft who knows !

haha so basically got a heap of junk CPU (which i just bought) to play this game and umm yeah i can’t play fx series work pretty well on most other games its a shame guess i will be saying goodbye to guild wars lol maybe come back if i ever get a new CPU or they make use of more cores

woo i have this problem to my pc is being looked at by tech. does the FPS crash for like 10-15 seconds then stabolize or does it remain low ? also if you could check your core temps id recommend it

I would personally go for Intel, AMD seriously does not perform with this game. Slightly pricier but the upgrade should keep you good to game for a couple of years to come!

well there was a thread somewhere or other of optimization overall to improve how the game is running i’m sure this will affect how AMD systems are running too.

Exactly what the title says i’m close to leaving the game due to not being able to play at all on my new pc … LOL. well yeah when will this optimization be done? like to give it a bash before calling it truce! love this game but dam tired of slideshows on world bosses and events.

I have a reasonable set up, brand new FX-8320 3.5ghz and a gtx 660 3gb ….for no apparent reason i get V-droop majorly bad in this game and really poor fps majority of the time. there is most likely nothing wrong with his system i have had specialists look at my pc and found it to be in perfect working order ! the game is poorly optimized right now… like really poorly optimized every other game works a treat !

ive tried all of the above Anet are supposed to be optimizing throughout the next 6 weeks to improve these issues lets hope they fix ours ! or just continue to hate our setups … wow loves everyone’s pc for the very cheap to the most expensive you actually can see the difference lol

wow thats dam low i get the same fps on the dragon fight T something does your game run ok for roaming pvp and dungeons though ?

im sorry how do you get so many frames with a card lower budget than me gtx 660? i usually end with 50-60 in open world never mind the lousy 20 in wvwvw

i have disabled cool n quiet the problem persisted tomorrow i will see how the new card does if no change ughh, i try so hard to play this game and it trys so hard not to work for me – great selling point guys !! how to reset cmos ? – easy complicated ?

ok so ive tested to see if its heat causing the problem temp rise under load to around 48-51 degrees so the temprature is fine overall but something is killing the voltage on my processor to half when the game is under load still getting a new card tomorrow from pcspecialist their hoping it should solve it so we will see if not im not sure quite now any more suggestions would be extremely grateful!

Hi guys thanks for all the responses i think i have found the problem but now not sure how to fix, when i play guild wars the fps will be ok and then say drop 40 fps for 5-10 secs and then come back to normal when this happens my cpu voltage drops from its usual 1.308v to 0.600v or something around those lines which is causing the fps issue any fix for this its already off powersaving cool and quiet mode etc and you cant disable the throttling option in bois ?

so i have the same card as you and a fairly decent processor same problem it achieves shocking FPS. also with this card i get random FPS drops in dungeons and lions arch and literally runs the game worse than my last card. it has got to be these cards paired with this game and also the games graphics really buggy as in you cant really have reflections on … yeah buggy as! bought a new setup to play this game so lets hope we get some feedback on the problem!

even when i stand still every couple of minutes the fps seems to drop about 20 or so for 5 seconds then catch back up, is this lag ? so far happening alot in dungeons and lions arch tech please help

ok well ive managed to boost the fps up a bit doing certain stuff now i noticed i have another problem my frames at certain times just drop about 20 for no apparent reason usually for about 5-10 every so often any thoughts ?

something has to be done here surely i just spent a fair emount of money on an upgrade getting literally the same fps in this game ?

i dont know i think it would be more to do with the game, it should still be playable to a decent fps lol

so yeah as the tit claims , i literally get around 20 fps in lions arch on the update of the dragon thing like drops to 10-15 on fight on lowest roaming world on max about 50 ? i have 8 gig of ram also the pc is brand new and everything appears to be working a ok! i need help i expect higher frames than this surely sometimes roaming drops my fps to like 20-30?

So obviously from the title just been watching the finals and just wanted to put my thoughts down on it.

firstly i thought it was a little hard to watch sometimes truly understand what was going on, maybe thats me being a scrub but yeah sometimes it seemed there could be too much going on and not really grasping it specially with the ‘petting zoo’ on points alot of AI. Obviously the mode is simple hold the points with a secondary objective that can help determine the game not difficult to understand,

I dont think it made it that enjoyable to watch though i think the combat is really interesting and fun to watch in this game personally i think the game would benefit from smaller groups and a different mode DM say 2v2 3v3 would be easier to watch, as WoW did but gw2 having much less skills making it easier to watch specially with fewer classes etc ? could bring a second objective to make it more interesting say a buff somewhere that improves healing for the team or something along those lines.

anyone’s thoughts more interesting, better to watch than conquest or worse ?
Also loving engineer right now like to add that in! but please Anet for PVE could you make the character lay the bombs infront not behind ?

generally think warriors should take a hit so people wouldnt think like idiots and i can get some cool gear on my ele , doing arah is already a pain in the butt !

I keep having this problem with my Elementalist. Currently in berserker gear etc usually run d/d because i like it but out decent damage and great support, but literally got kicked out of groups for not being a Warrior. I could happily record this happening at least 5x a day when i get on in the next few days lol. they must do a truck load damage more ?

The community seem’s to be pretty split on the topic of DM, for starter’s for all those against the meta atm for conquest is an absolute joke and is not enjoyable at all! how does grouping at a point and spamming all your aoe onto a small circle take skill ? its horrible and horrible balance right now that needs a fix or at least a new angle to approach from DM may not be the answer for this game but a different choice of mode would be a breath of fresh air… all the bragging this game would bring to the e-sports well did anyone watch the finals car crash vs someone or other it was a joke that the spectators even mocked !
as for the perma stealth thief mesmer well umm yeah maybe they should nerf that kitten to the ground anyway regardless of DM i’d actually like to be able to attack my target one in a while specially trying to find them through all this AI ughh conquest in terms of e-sports its a fail this game needs a new angle to bring more players to the game and stop the bored players leaving i.e 90% of the upset community maybe a little ott but you get the idea .

so many people are calling for this it would be awsome the community is already making this happen without a dedicated mode! shows the community wants this especially are post just below this one !

So im still a noob, sorta rank 15< i noticed you stand on a point and an organised team literally put some aoe and a cripple on it you get dropped almost instantly ? think they should tone the aoe damage down its so passive and cheesy! dying not having a clue what really hit me or if i was even being focused, couple of my idea’s tone aoe damage down increase health pools by say 40% and increase CD of healing abilities boom already a better pvp experience!

i cant do any harm if they make a sort of ptr tryout of this if the community like it impliment it also smaller brackets means you could really learn the ins and outs of your profession without being face stomped in a 10v10 …rather annoying when then happens right ? just map out one simple arena and a simple join option for teams in the mists !
