Hi,
I play a lot of P/S engineer and very often I see that my double tapping the #4 skill does not trigger the blast finisher.
Does this happen to you guys as well or am I going nuts?
The stealth from #4 bomb rarely goes off, heal from water fields only has a 75% trigger rate.
This is from solo roaming and not in zergs where others can trigger the fields.

I think mobile turrets will make the engineer too strong.
The way to fix the issue is to give them the possibility to lower the cooldown of turret deployment.
For example, if you blow up your turret then the cooldown should be lower (the same as picking it up), but if you do not manage it properly and let it be distroyed, then the cooldown is standard.
Edit: I would even say that traited, the picked turrets should be abke to be re-deployed in under 5 sec; after all, you did go to the turret and spend some fractions of a second picking it up, there should be a big reward for that in my opinion.
Another improvement could be: either AoE spells should not affect the turrets, or the turrets take less damage from AoE spells (50% less with the possibility to trait for an additional 25% – Grandmaster trait).
As for the skins on turrets, I would like that, but I think it is not that important at the moment.

Has anybody considered that not allowing players to damage gates and walls might reduce the zergs in WvW?
At the moment having a big zerg (80+ players) has a huge reward in damaging the gates of a tower/keep.
It would be very nice if the gates and walls would not be able to be attacked by a player and only with siege:
- doors: ram, catapult, ballista, trebuchet, golem
- walls: catapult, trebuchet, mortar, golem
- professions that can create mortars and/or golems can attack the wall/door depending on the above rules
The walls and doors should however be able to be target but should not be able to be attacked to avoid disabling the waypoints. The waypoint should be contested when the keep/castle is attacked with the correct siege weapon (basically when a door/wall is damaged).
Any thoughts on this?

Yeah, I wrote it wrong, alert the typing police

Nevertheless the point it that 400 generation of nvidia is bad imo and is not worth buying.
If I had spent a little more time on overclocking forums and reading actual user’s comments I would have saved my money and bought the 680 from start.
One solution to the maps to small could be easy to fix: remove the running speed boons from all professions. This will also mean that re-joining a battle after defeated will be slower allowing defending parties to stand their ground in keeps against a larger force.
Also another issue that I have is the ability to damage gates without siege weaponry: this allows bug zergs to melt a gate in no time even without a ram.
Lack of incentive to form small parties for conquering supply camps.

Does GW2 even take advantage of the multi-core processors?
I have not seen my cores being maxed out while playing GW2, only one core.

I have a GTX 460Ti and I have to say that the 400 is bad imo.
It runs at insane high temperatures, fan is noisy …. I swapped it 3 months after buying it with GTX 680.
Just may thoughts from user’s experience which is contrary to the review in the link above.

I thought that the lag was related only to WvW and that is why I decided to roll with a new class and level a thief.
To my surprise the PvE seems to be lagging bit too and currently has deterred me from playing GW2 during the weekend.
Hope you guys will drop everything that you are working one and improve performance on the servers for this issue, since you can add as much content and fluff as you want, but if the game is unplayable due to server performance issues the time invested in extra content is just lost.
Have a nice day,

I’d rather see them implement some beneficial things for owning and defending a tower or a camp as a guild.
At the moment there is no reward in defending a tower (unless you have heavily invested in upgrades); you benefit more from flipping it
Somehow I think that this game is not what ANet advertised, but considering it does not require a subscription I am OK with it; when a real RvR game will appear, I’ll make the switch, but until then GW2 will have to do.

WoW, we lost all in WvW. Nice to see that an issue like this does not go unpunished …. for players that suffered from it

I managed to log in!
and Far Shiverpeaks is up!

Edit: And I lost 12silver in the pickup tab ….. I feel sorry for people that had gold to pick up and it got lost!.
Maybe ANet is closing servers down!
That would be epic!
Now on a more serious note, what’s the deal?

I liked the OP post.
I have to say that I agree in most part, but that is why this is a forum so players can share their opinion.
I want to see more strategy involved in WvW, commanders to be voted by WvW players, more significant rewards (playing as support has zero reward right now, no badges for the selfless Guardian that heals and buffs everybody or for the healing specialized enginner).
A lot more things can be improved in WvW but the most important would have to be culling, commander system, winning a WvW week should reward players that were involved based on their activity (maybe related to the karma earned in WvW); I could go on, but I have a hunch that WvW has low priority at ANet offices

Hi,
I have an issue with Elixir S that is a bummer. Please see info below:
Race: Asura
Profession: Engineer
Location: WvWvW
Spell: Elixir S
Condition: Fighting in groups and being focused by multiple ranged attacks.
Behavior: Under the effects of Elixir S the camera turns left/right and zooms in and out very fast. Sometimes it turns me 180 degrees and I end up int the middle of the enemies I am trying to run away from. The turning happens while I run using my 2 mouse buttons to move forward or if I use my key binding to move forward and hold the right mouse button for steering.

WvW fights revolve around a superior in number group fighting a smaller one.
My engi encounters this every day: thief starts his number, sees I am flamethrower build with loads of toughness, runs away. In the distance one or more of his fellow server teammates roam around.
He comes back, but does not all in, he just puts me in combat so I cannot save my skin; his teammates close the gap and the fight starts; the thief jumps out of stealth and acts hero-like giving me the finish blow.
In the above story feel free to replace thief with any profession and this is basically the WvW story (with stealth adjusted to fit the new profession).
I also do not know why everybody is so serious about WvW when clearly it is just a zone where mindless mobs run amok (with very, very few exceptions). I love WvW (RvR) in MMOs, but in GW2 something went bad, very bad …. oh well, back to my game, the mob is leaving the castle, better join them so I wont get caught in the middle of an invisible storm of fire, ice, water and all that crazy stuff.
So, here is the best advice I can give you when it comes to PvP, no matter the game (to an extent):
The best class in a PvP situation is the class you understand, you are effective with it and also enjoy playing!
1. You must understand you class to know how much you can extend and who is your food vs who is your enemy
2. You can understand your class, but for some unknown magical reason you cannot play it; be it either because your micro-management is not at the level required by the class or it could be that you are not experienced with the role (if it is the last situation, play it more to get familiar with the role)
3. If you do not enjoy the class your effectiveness will drop visibly resulting in being detrimental to your own team and helping the enemy.
So final line is: try all classes in sPvP (it does not require you to level for a large number of hours) and get familiar with the tools at their disposal, skill set required, the roles it can fill. When joining an unorganized WvWvW match you’d probably throw all you learned away, but if you like the class, you can easily adapt

What if support players that heal and buff would actually get some rewards from assists?
(I am broke here trying to keep 20 players healed and buffed)
I have the same problem as Inculpatus cedo.
I must be at my 50th attempt to change the password and the Confirm password is bordered red at the end of the operation (even if I paste the password in the last 2 text boxes).
This is getting funny
51 try is the charm
I see no real issue here, honestly.
I had a bad luck of being 3rd for 3 weeks with almost permanent outmanned buff and I managed to come 1s on top at the end of each evening.
Just try to do some guerilla warfare (cap supplies, kill dolyaks, sentry points), mine and gather nodes (sell them on trade).
Cost repairs are the last issue that should be addressed in WvW.
The top should be:
1a. model rendering lag on large groups
1b. ability activation lag on large fights
2. removal of jumping puzzles.
3. discouraging guild meetings in WvW
The problem is like it was before.
A large number of enemies will take longer to load, but if the group is small you’ll be able to see them.
Still it is very damaging to game experience, having a small group that does guerrilla warfare you can end up in the middle of a zerging army without seeing from distance to formulate some sort of strategy.
Slowly it seems to me that WvWvW will not be more than mob vs mob and those that want to have fun and deploy tactics sooner or later will crash into the invisible damage wall and the enemies will be rendered when you are dead (this is the case for all my encounters with enemy angry mob).

I get rewarded for defending even when the defense failed.
Also I have to mention that I do attack the enemies a lot and do damage for this reward … I do not afk in the tower.
Could we get this one a sticky?
Also, how do you navigate through board posts in these topics?
Ilumn aftertaste anyone?
I keep thinking that WvW will suffer the same fate.
despite the invisible opposition WvW is a blast, I have no idea what everyone else wants from it.
It seems that people are too worried about the score. Ignore that ticking counter its a load of rubbish anyway, look at what keeps you have when your guild goes into the lake. look at what you have when you guys leave and smile to yourself at having had a fun night.
I agree with this.
I would like the invisible enemy issue fixed for WvW and also if possible an extend of the WvW maps … currently I am on a low populated server and during the evening I cannot get into any WvW instances. I hope something will change in the future, because PvE has not interest to me, like many other GW2 players it seems.
I hope the WvW design team will get some great ideas in the near future and improve this area a lot.
The real problem here is invisible enemies. Give their algorithms time to match servers properly.

I think it is worth mentioning that also NPC models fail to load.
I experienced this after player models started to fail loading. After 5 sec allied models failed to load.
I teleported back to base and I saw that the merchants were not there, but if I clicked on the spot the usually are I was able to sell and buy.

It’s the server side / 32 bit code that cant utilize your RAM.
Well I kinda figured out it was server side, being a developer and all, but still wanted to inform ANet about this.
Oh, and 32bit can access more RAM by some nice feature with memory sharing between processes
; I do this all the time at work :P
Hi,
So, there is a problem in WvW when going against players. If the enemy is in large numbers there is a delayed load on the enemy models resulting in you in the middle of 30 enemy players.
Any suggestions in this area?
My PC is strong (I7 cramped up to 3.6 Ghz, 16GB of RAM, GTX 980, Sata 3 SSD) and this is really annoying because most of the time I have to spend running from the waypoint back to the fight and 5 min later the same thing happens, incoming players are not shown until they are on top of us.
Volmok.
I second this bad idea.
We attack their keeps and the other server jumps in to help the other.
This would be fine and dandy if we were the 1st server form the 3, but we are last and they only attack our keeps/supply camps … I got the 3 faction system is one of the most balanced there is … maybe in US! Did anyone consider the impact of language specific servers put together with others?
Why are 2 German servers put together with a 3rd one that is of different language or international? If 2 servers of the same country were drawn to form a group for WvW it should be mandatory that the 3rd one would be from the same country/language so that these kind of things should not happen.
