Gate of Madness
Avran Wulfheart [Human Guardian] Havoc [HVC]
Hi, just wondering about a couple of things regarding Guild Halls. Tried to search the forums for this but wasn’t able to find it but if this has already been answered I’d appreciate it if I was directed there. I just need to know two questions answered:
1. Will players who haven’t purchased HoT yet be able to participate in the Guild Hall expedition missions?
2. Will players who haven’t purchased HoT yet be able to enter the Guild Halls?
Thanks!
I’m getting the same error as well. I’ve tried the different tips and tricks on how to connect but still no luck so far. I’m now trying -repair and praying it’ll allow me to reconnect, but still looking for other possible solutions in case this doesn’t work.
I’m just wondering…is the Account Jump Start Package a limited time offer thing? Or is it permanent on the Gem store?
I just noticed it after a guild mate told me about it. Yeah, instead of allowing you to choose the amount of gems you want it automatically opens the payment page, the same screen you get when you click the “Buy More Gems” button.
I’m getting it every time I swap characters. It’s frustrating because you need to Log Out of the game for it to fix.
So…tell me…how can I do these given the options that I have and my character?
I got a friend who just started and apparently you can’t do dailies until you’re level 11, and you have to do 3 to get the Daily Completionist done. Unfortunately you’re only presented with one PvE, one PvP and one WvW daily. Funny thing is, you can’t enter PvP until level 18 and you can’t enter WvW until level 22.
What people don’t get is it’s not fun and the dailies feel forced.
ANet did say they didn’t want to force people into doing stuff they didn’t really want to do. Forced to wait 2 hours for Frozen Maw/SB/Claw or whatever. Forced to use a higher level character just to do a daily in Cursed Shore.
And yeah, I’ve already heard the “You don’t have to do it if you don’t want to” phrase. Please, this is just plain rude and goes to show you never think of how the other person feels. And it sounds condescending, it’s like people who say this are thinking “Shut up and just play the game you ^&^& whiners”. People who say this probably never thought that ANet wanted the game to be fun for people and they did mention that they don’t want people to be forced to do stuff. Yes, I could just pop on a main or a high level alt and do the dailies, the dailies forces me to do so, but for me it’s not fun anymore.
The old dailies weren’t forced. I liked it because while I was doing normal stuff, I knew I was getting dailies done. For example, “Shiverpeaks Events Completer”, what I’d do is choose a Shiverpeaks area which I haven’t fully explored and do events that I come across while getting waypoints, vistas, POI and hearts. It was great because I got to do my dailies which I wanted to do and also got to explore. The old dailies didn’t force you out of doing stuff you wanted to do in the game, the new one does. I don’t look at timers nor follow the world bosses. If a world boss happens to spawn when I’m in an area, or a guildmate messages in guild chat that a boss is about to spawn and I’m not busy, then I’ll kill that boss, get my rewards, then go on my merry way.
And there were far more options. I was actually content with just doing 5 and getting dailies done, I didn’t need to do the 10 dailies. I would be fine with the new dailies if they just gave more options, and options which alts can actually do.
Furthermore, for me the dailies are incentives for leveling alts. Leveling a character is more enjoyable if you actually play that character. You get the feel of how it works, how to use their skills, how to play them. Doing dailies for the writ then passing it on to the alt is boring IMHO. You can level that alt without ever playing it. Why don’t I do that then? It’s boring. Why not do dailies on a high level character, then play that alt after you’re done? I want that alt to get the exp while doing stuff. Events give exp, exploring gives exp, mining/harvesting gives exp, killing gives exp. I don’t want these exp on a character that doesn’t need it. I want it on that alt. And I don’t have the luxury of time to grind my alt just to level him. I’d prefer having a goal, which is the dailies, while leveling that alt.
And about the arguments where new players are just learning the game, what if that new player had someone to guide them. What if that vet player told that new player about the dailies? That new player wouldn’t be able to do it if one of them was something like Cursed Shore Events Completer. I doubt his vet friend could protect him that well to bring him to CS and actually be able to do events.
The best thing about the old system was how flexible it was. You didn’t have to go out of your way to do something very specific, or worse, tied to a certain time of day. You could play along as you normally would and do events, gathering, rezzing, dodging … in any zone you want! It was great! I like the new log-in rewards, but I wished they’d keep the AP system as it is – even if it means I would get less AP than I do now!
Again, if you want to entice people to try out different game content, you have to add more rewards instead of removing the players’ options and/or forcing them!
This sums it up. Add to that the fact that the old dailies were friendlier for alts and new players. I mean, how do you expect someone who just started the game to go to higher level areas?
There are still rooms for improvement, they could make the new dailies fun like the old. But as of now: Old Dailies > New Dailies.
I do agree that the old Dailies was better IMHO. It was fun to do and didn’t feel forced. I could do just about any PvE content and end up completing those Dailies, and I can do it on my alt. Now it’s not fun. The limited options forces me to have to use a maxed character when I’d rather do it on the alt I want to level. Of course completing one of the Dailies does award a Writ of Experience, but what about the exp gained WHILE doing the Dailies? Even minimal exp gained from killing something does contribute to the character’s overall exp, and Events offer higher exp which I want on an alt. Now do I have to force my low level character to go to Cursed Shore or Malchor’s Leap and try to do Events there?
Anyways, it’s either ANet gives more options for people or remove area restrictions, i.e. Daily Events Completer instead of Daily Cursed Shore Events Completer.
And thanks for the link
I think people are not reading this thoroughly. Yes I understand that I can just do the Dailies on my main or another maxed character. I’m just pointing out that:
1) I’d prefer it if exp which I gain WHILE doing dailies, not after, are gained by the alt I want to level.
2) I prefer to do it in one go with that alt since it’s more time efficient.
3) Getting an alt to 80 without ever playing it once is boring. What’s the point making a new character if I’m not going to play it?
I’m not saying that the new Dailies is bad, I’m just saying that it’s not friendly to how people like me play GW2 on a daily basis. I only really did 5 PvE Dailies on the old Dailies and then that was it, I got exp and I finished it.
Because I’d rather do it in one go? Two birds with one stone? Dailies and then level my alt altogether? Like I said, I prefer doing it on a character that I want the exp on because I don’t have the luxury of being online 24/7 and I can only really play on my days off. If I can do all the Dailies on an alt in that 15 minutes, then I log out. The Dailies are extra motivation for me to level up my alts quickly in the limited time I have. And, letting a higher level character get the exp for my alt is boring and not fun. I mean, that character is just getting exp without me playing it at all.
Because I like letting my alts get the exp from doing stuff as well? I don’t think you read it thoroughly. Just about everything you do in GW2 gives you exp. I don’t want that exp on a maxed character who doesn’t need it. I want that on an alt, so I prefer doing dailies on that alt.
Furthermore, you can’t pass Event exp onto another character. It’s not like I can just warp a low level alt all the way to Cursed Shore just to do events there.
I’m also placing this so that ANet would know and see if there’s a workaround. I don’t think I’m the only one who thinks this and ANet did say they want the game to be FUN for people. I like playing my alts, each of my characters are different from the others and I actually enjoy playing them to get them their levels. Unfortunately I don’t have the luxury of playing 24/7 so I count on Dailies to help get that exp. The old Dailies helped with that, and also allowed me to explore the maps while getting those Dailies done. The new Dailies not so much and it forces me to do something I’d rather not just to do those Dailies.
(edited by wulfheart.8206)
I’m not sure if someone has posted something about this, maybe someone can link me there. Anyways, it’s about the new dailies.
First off, I think it’s nice that ANet is trying to make it simpler, giving people a chance to get the 10 Achievement Points in an easier and less time consuming fashion, and also that people need only do a few dailies (3) to get the 10 points. Unfortunately, the dailies themselves don’t sit too well with me.
Mostly, I enjoy PvE. I’m an altaholic and like maxing my alt characters. I usually do dailies for that, letting them get the exp from it. The old Dailies allowed me to do just that. It wasn’t really that easy, but I could more or less do it in an hour, or less. The new PvE dailies unfortunately do not sit well with alts at times. I mean, how can a level 30 character do Events in Cursed Shore? Now I can always do it on my main or one of my maxed characters then pass the exp to my alt, right? But then what about the exp from killing stuff? It is minimal but it’s still exp which, when added, does contribute to the exp bar. What about the exp from the events? Can I pass that exp to my alt? Doing a daily that requires doing 4 events can give around 20% on the exp bar, and I don’t want that on a maxed character.
Of course there’s PvP and WvW, unfortunately I currently don’t want to go through the hassle. I mostly play casually and every few minutes tab out to read stuff online (unless I was doing a dungeon), I can’t tab out of PvP and WvW. And I believe that ANet doesn’t want to force people to do things they don’t like doing just for the sake of Achievement Points.
Anyways, this is just my opinion. I’m sure there are people who share the same sentiments. I’m just hoping that ANet would make the dailies more alt friendly.
I’d suggest a new e-mail, just to be extra safe since there’s a possibility that his old e-mail was compromised and might be again.
I’m having some problems purchasing an account for my brother. It’s not going through even if the proper information is provided. I’ve already submitted a ticket, #606682, and am hoping for a speedy response. I’m hoping to avail of the discount promo before it ends.
I’m from SEA and am playing on NA Server. Technically, the internet SUCKS in my country but with a good provider I can play well enough without having to worry about lag. Possibly a delay of mere milliseconds that I hardly notice.
Thailand has better internet than we do so moving to NA would be a nice idea.
And, IMHO, since the China server is a totally different server I think account transfers are not possible. But that’s my opinion, I think it’d be best to hear it from ANet.
I’ve had the e-mail to my GW2 account changed. Just like DeadlySynz, it’s not going to be used for anything else aside for GW2 and I won’t be opening it very often, if I ever have to open it at all. And like some people have suggested, I won’t open it on the computer where I play GW2. So any hacks made to my account would be through a direct attack to ANet or my e-mail provider, or just one truly dedicated hacker.
One of the main things I’m wondering about is why was my e-mail authentication switched off? I am sure that I had it activated. I’m sure that my e-mail was not compromised, but yeah after this I’m thinking of making a new e-mail and finding ways to switch my GW2 account over to that e-mail if that’s possible.
lordkrall, I understand what you’re trying to do and I think that it’s admirable that you stand by that it was not ANet’s fault. But you do it in a way that aggravates more than helps.
I’m not saying ANet is at fault. I’m just also giving information here that I know that my account is safe and also giving details as to how “secure” I am. No, I don’t have 5 antivirus programs plus 3 anti-malware programs running on my computer, nor do I reset my password at regular intervals using randomly generated passwords, but I’m as secure as most people are. But even with such security, I was hacked. It’s also a heads up to let ANet know that people who secure their accounts can be hacked and hopefully to find out, if possible, as to how that person was hacked. At least they can do a thorough check on their end just to be sure. I’m sure that they do have a lot of security measures in place but you can’t deny the fact that kitten can happen.
Trying to ignore it and just saying that you’re 100% sure of your security without doing a check can lead to disaster.
Kinda like what happened with that developer and the Facebook security team. Well, it didn’t turn out to be a disaster. But it could have been.

No, two people can not share an account. It is against the UA you agreed to. You can find all the necessary information here:
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/
and here: https://help.guildwars2.com/home
I believe what Xyonon was saying is “I OWN both accounts, I just let my friend play on it”
How many times do I have to say this: My e-mail account was not compromised. It was never accessed from any unknown IP. My e-mail authentication was turned off. I always had it on. And I TRIED to turn it off just to see how people can turn it off and there’s no way to do that unless you switch to Mobile, which I didn’t.
@wulfheart
Do you have e-mail or mobile authentication? Yes, but it was turned off for reasons I do not know why.
Are you using or have you every used your GW2 password anywhere else? Nope, my GW2 password was unique. I only made it for my GW2 account.
Are you using a unique e-mail account for GW2 only? Yes, I have a different e-mail account, or accounts, for everything else.
Do you have authentication on your e-mail account, where it verifies access to your e-mail account through a mobile device or an alternate e-mail account? I had e-mail authentication, for some reason it was turned off"
I also checked my e-mail. It wasn’t logged in from any unknown IP.
Anyways, I thank the people who’ve replied here, both who tried helping my case and those who’ve told me I don’t deserve consideration. Please no more arguing over this. I guess I just wanted to say how disappointed I was.
And like I said, whether I continue playing or not doesn’t matter to ANet. Either way it’s my loss.
If they gave multiple resets to people, what’s to stop people from getting together to scam the system? One person give another the login information. The second “hacks” the account and “steals” everything. Then the first person gets an full account restore. Rinse and repeat. If the “hacker” uses trial accounts where possible or buys them when on sale he doesn’t have to risk his main account.
One thing Gaile has said is they are currently banning a lot of gold sellers. These people are now taking over accounts they hacked previously but left sitting untouched. This may account for a lot of people getting hit now.
My account was not “sitting untouched” though. I already took measures to secure my account before my first hack, used stronger measures t secure my account after that, but I still got hacked. If it had been just a single incident, I would have just submitted my ticket, hoped for the best but know that I may not be getting my items back. I wouldn’t even be posting here. But since this seems to be happening to a lot of people recently, that’s why I’m more active about getting consideration since this isn’t an isolated incident. And no, banning the gold sellers doesn’t help much, especially the people who got hacked.
And about the idea of a bunch of people getting their accounts “hacked” to get double what they have, I’m pretty sure ANet would have ways to know if it was intentional. Furthermore, people who keep getting hacked for no apparent reason would be suspicious.
I’m pretty sure if ANet really did look into my account they’d know that my account was logged in from another location and for some reason my e-mail authentication was turned off. But I think whoever studied my account just looked at “Already had account restored” and probably never bothered to look further. Big loss on my end, but like I said, I’m just a speck in the community, no big deal for them.
lordkrall, I hear you. But you don’t have to be a kitten about it and keep reminding me what an idiot I was that I wasn’t able to properly secure my account. Furthermore, you don’t see me ranting about how awful the game or support is. Please, if you don’t have anything more helpful to say, I’d prefer you not saying anything more.
And I understand about others wanting to get their accounts restored if they get hacked again. I was also stating that they might give consideration since this isn’t a lone incident. It’s been happening to a LOT of people lately and is so bad Customer Service is swamped. Last time it took 2 days to restore my account. This time it took more than a week and I had to post here to hopefully get my issue resolved.
And I also understand that I’m just a speck in the gaming community that even if I decided to leave the game it wouldn’t matter much to ANet or the GW2 community.
Anyways, I tried. I wasn’t given consideration. Hooray for the hackers.
And you believe I haven’t taken measures? Anyone would be firmer with account security after it’s happened. And yes I’m aware of it. It’s just that everything I’ve gotten since the start of the game, which is very little compared to most of the GW2 population since I’m more of a casual gamer, is gone.
IMHO, if they restored my account it wouldn’t affect the economy at all since I had very little to begin with. My best pride was my 2 million Karma, but I believe that’s little compared to what other people have.
Well, I guess that’s that. I had hoped consideration would be given since this isn’t a single incident and was happening to a lot of people. Anyways, policies are policies. Congratulations to the hackers and may they enjoy the fruits of my labors while I get back to scratch.
I really love the game but I’m not sure if I’ll be playing again. This really, literally, has me in tears.

@Gaile
Thanks for the reply. I know it may be some extra coding for the people who are in charge of account security and e-mail authentication, but I believe every little bit hels.
I had 10 passwords I cycle through every now and then, around 9 to 11 characters with letters, numbers and special characters in the mix.
I’ve checked my e-mail and it has never been accessed outside my IP or IP range the past month prior to my hack.
Nobody knows my passwords, true my close friends who I believe have no interest whatsoever in my GW2 account may have an idea of my past passwords but that was back when I only used letters and numbers, no caps nor special characters.
I don’t really go to sites that have malware and I loathe having to download extra ‘security’ software, but after this incident I’ve asked some people about good security software and have added some which most of them recommended.
Still, if someone with a 22 character password can get hacked then these gold sellers are really getting aggressive. I’m not sure but I’ve been checking the forms and I think it’s really bad these days, though I’m not sure if this is the worst ANet has suffered. I’m not saying that there really has been a breach with ANet and/or NCSoft, but at least it may be a good idea to think around that angle, don’t leave out any possibilities.
It kinda reminds me of this witty/corny line I made: “Where there’s a hack, there’s a way!”
I kinda said this as a joke before, but I’m believing I may have unknowingly hit on something there.
I’m just curious, if someone swaps from E-mail Authentication to Mobile Authentication, would there be an e-mail sent to verify the change from E-mail to Mobile? Or will it be automatic?
Now I know that hackers won’t be able to access the account in the first place since there was e-mail notification, but just what if? What if, for some reason, hackers were able to access an account and wanted to change it from e-mail to mobile. If it was that easy to swap from e-mail to mobile, then I think that should be changed.
Forgive me if this seems like an impossible scenario, but I’d rather go through the hassle of multiple verifications to change security settings and be sure my account is safe.
I dunno, maybe I’m just getting too nervous about my account’s security. Anyways, just my 2 cents.
My e-mail was never logged in outside my location, so they definitely didn’t hack me through my e-mail. But just to be safe, I changed my password twice since then.
Thanks for the response to my last post on this thread https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/account/WOW-best-customer-support-ever/first#post3946807
Anyways, I’m going to be putting up my ticket here since it’s been 3 days since the incident. I don’t want to sound like I’m rushing things but it’s a real bummer if the best I can do online is sit around and just chat. Furthermore, I believe that a lot of us are experiencing the same issue. Now I tried to turn off e-mail notification on my account, to see if it was possible, and found out that the only way to do so was to set up a mobile authenticator, and I never did that since I’m confident e-mail will be enough. Furthermore, I have checked the e-mail account associated with my GW2 account and find it has never been compromised, or at the least I believe it hasn’t, since it shows it wasn’t accessed outside my location.
Anyways, I hope I can get a response soon. This is my ticket number: 560308.
P.S. I’ve given a more or less specific time-frame as to when I believe I was hacked. Maybe that can help with checking my account. On a further note, I’ll be taking my friend’s advice to constantly check my account on the website to see if the authenticator is still active.
(edited by wulfheart.8206)
I got an automated response and was given advice to change my password. I did that, but I replied again asking if it’s possible to have my items restored. I lost more than a year’s worth of items, mats and currencies and I don’t have the pleasure of being able to play 24/7. I love the game and would be playing it for years to come, but it’s a real bummer to lose everything because other people like to just take advantage of what others earn through hard work.
(edited by wulfheart.8206)
I haven’t had a reply yet and it’s been 2 days. Now I understand as was stated in another post that recently you’ve had a LOT of tickets ever since the April 15 update, but I would like a little response, even just a “We’re looking into your account” so I’ll know that someone’s reviewing my account and know that I may recover what I lost from the hack. Right now I can’t play because 1) I don’t have the gear to do dungeons and 2) what I gain may be lost when my account is recovered. Anyways, I still have the one ticket, 560308:Compromised account, and I do hope I get a response soon. Many thanks.
Oh okay, thanks for clarifying that.
BTW, did you guys try checking on your account page if your account was recently logged in on a Texas IP?
I’m from Asia and no one else knows my account details, so it’d be impossible for me to be logged in from Texas.
I just had the same issue. I know I have e-mail authentication turned on, but after the hack I realized that it was turned off. I’ve already submitted a ticket and am hoping to get my items and currencies back as well. It’s not much as well but the hack really set me back.
I just had the same issue. I normally have e-mail authentication turned on but it seemed that it was turned off. Anyways, already submitted a ticket for the incident.
I just wish though that there was “sent mail” information, so people will have an idea to who their stuff was sent to.
As far as I understood, the OP’s point was that punishing doesn’t equal challenging… I mean, would the encounters in Queen’s Gauntlet be any less difficult if you’d reappear alive by the Ringmaster, regardless of whether you lost or won? If you didn’t need to use tickets to attempt the encounters? Liadri would still be oneshotting you, walking into Deadeye’s mines would still be a horrifyingly bad idea and so on.
Yes, I’ll admit punishing mechanics gives you more incentive to succeed and so on, but in the context of the Queen’s Gauntlet, it would change absolutely nothing regarding the difficulty of the encounters available through it (if you removed death/ticket costs/etc).
Tickets adds gates that hinder constant, unlimited retrying for free. Having other players rez you or you must WP and run back adds incentive to not failing.
It’s really easier said than done. And I was under the assumption that ANet wanted the game to be fun for casual gamers as well, that whether you play the game just to have fun or you play the game like your life depended on it you will still have fun. Making content that will only benefit a select few professions and hardcore gamers is similar to punishing those professions and casual players.
I tried hard looking for guides on how to beat the Gauntlet with a Guardian and I ended up with nothing. So would that make me an idiot for rolling a Guardian as my main?
Once the risk is removed the sense of accomplishment is diminished. If it cost nothing to get in the gauntlet and you spawned right next to the ringmaster with full HP after failing; the achievement will feel empty. Just like whacking down trees in the gathering dailies. It’s just an item on your laundry list.
Getting the mini’s a big accomplishment for me already and in no way would my sense of accomplishment be diminished. But I don’t want to have to slave away and infuriate myself just so I can get that mini. If ANet wanted masochistic people to be satisfied, they should have probably opted to let players choose another ‘difficulty setting’. Take for instance the candidate trials. I got what I wanted without having to finish tier 3 and 4 but there’s also the option for people who want a challenge to finish the higher tiers.
Add CM p1 and p3. I find them easy enough to do. The trickiest parts are where you have to run/sneak past the big mob halfway through the dungeon. p2 is also doable and just as easy as p1 and p3 except for the gate part which can be very tricky but if you manage to join a party where 2 or more people really know what they’re doing then it’ll be a cakewalk.
I don’t mind having to try a thousand times to beat the Gauntlet and it’s true I’d be kitten ed of at failing but I’d probably be able to handle that. The ‘punishments’ the OP has mentioned is what really kitten es me off, along with the design flaws his mentioned. For me it’s Struger throwing the Meat in Chomper’s face. I don’t mind having to compete with the mutt to get the meat, but if it’s right in its face how can you grab it?
And some people mentioned that if it didn’t have these ‘punishments’ then people would just queue over and over and commit the same mistakes over and over. I don’t think that’s entirely true. Only idiots would do that, most players would most likely look up guides after getting beaten for the nth time.
Spoken like true casual gamers.
No punishment and no risk means your achievements are empty. Just like the daily gathering achievement. Just another one of those laundry list of boring things to do.
Not at all, because Liadri is still CHALLENGING. The Punishment is just unnecessary, and what’s more is that it’s directly against the design philosophy that ArenaNet preached endlessly during GW2’s development.
Failure has little meaning when you don’t lose something valuable.
In video games this always translates to time. In most cases you only lose time relative to potential gain. In other more extreme cases; invested and banked time is literally taken away from you.
This gauntlet does a little bit of both.
You have to run back when you die and spend some coin for repairs and tickets. This shouldn’t be a new concept to anyone. World of Warcraft mastered this quite well with raids. Only difference here is that you don’t need 9 other players to do the content.
This is NOT World of Warcraft. If Arenanet wants to make it the same as WoW then they should hand the game over to Blizzard.
Do people realize you don’t even need to do it?
There “are” people who enjoy it. Let them have their fun.
If you are not having fun, don’t do it. I don’t enjoy wvw and jumping puzzle too, I didn’t ask Anet to remove that from the game.
If Anet want a real suggestion, make an easy mode. To appease to the more casual player. Keep the hard mode since there are obviously people who enjoy it by the feedback.
Following that same line of logic we don’t even need to play the game at all. Saying you don’t need to do something in a game because it’s optional is stupid because playing the game to begin with is optional.
I don’t play games to be frustrated. I play games for fun and to escape from stress. Not to be more stressed.
The original post is excellent and 100% right.
I don’t mean it that way. You dont’ have to enjoy “every single” content in GW2. As long as there are other content you enjoy.
Not every content is designed for everyone. There are other people who may enjoy the content beside of you.
What if I’m one of those people who like getting Achievements or collecting minis but the game design is so kittened up that I will never get them?
Do people realize you don’t even need to do it?

If you thoroughly read my post, you’d see that I have no problem with something that “hard”, “difficult”, or “challenging”. I merely dislike punishing aspects, and I’ve listed out all of the ones I could think of in the OP. These are things like glitches, punishments, and bad designs that should/need to be remedied.
let it go. You are describing what you personally felt.
I find jumping puzzle punishing too. I just don’t do it.
Jumping puzzles are ALWAYS there for you to do it. Queen’s Gauntlet won’t be around forever.
I see. I’m just wondering what ANet is doing about this or are they actually gonna do something about this. Honestly, I hate having to spam 1 just to maintain damage on a target, that’s what auto-attack’s for.
Using Swords as a Ranger doesn’t seem to be a good idea. The skill 1 combo of Slash-Kick-Pounce doesn’t allow you to dodge nor does it allow you to sidestep. Once you’re in Kick or Pounce animation while an enemy’s in the middle of an insta-down skill you’re basically screwed.
Now before anyone starts to tell me to use another weapon, I kinda like using the Sword+Dagger combo for melee. I particularly like Serpent’s Strike and Stalker’s Strike. True I can use them to cancel Kick or Pounce to evade, but what if those skills and Hornet Sting are on cool down?
Anyways, I hope this gets fixed and at least allow Rangers to cancel the skills and evade.
Managed to do CM using a level 5x Mesmer, even had a party which didn’t include the Soldier types [Warriors and Guardians] and had one of the smoothest CM runs ever. It really goes down to how well you know the dungeon and how well you and your teammates know your characters. Heck, I only consider myself a mediocre Mesmer player but I can say I do better than some people who bring in their level 80s.
And regarding dungeon newbies, as long as they know their characters and listen/follow the “vets”, then dungeon runs aren’t too hard. The only thing I hate about CM is path 2, especially the part where you have to blast the door with barrels and the final boss.

so I’m just wondering…and hopefully someone from ANet will answer this…
Cross Region Guesting is not impossible right? It’s just harder to code?
And is ANet working on making Cross Region Guesting a reality? I don’t really care if I have to wait a few more months, though I wish it would be sooner than that, but if ANet is going to do that, I’m willing to wait.
