Since no one at anet likes doing their job cough coughlazy armor designs for charr, asura, and norn*cough cough* they could at least make outfits obtainable in pve/p settings behind a hard achievement or task.

It would add more for us players to do. Almost all the new armor skins and outfits are locked behind money. Im not saying stop selling armor skins completely but at least add some to the game so we have something to work towards instead of only legendaries.

P.S. It would also be nice for us to use armor helmets with outfits

My one and only wish for this expac is for anet to hire someone competent enough to make armor that fits charr, norn, and asurans.

I have windows 10 and following the new update I am having the same issue as you OP.

What exactly don’t you like about the pets? There are a ton of reasons not to like them, just curious as to yours.

I don’t like the AI of the pets, i more prefer solo playstyle and managing a pet sometimes is really annoying. I always need to watch on them: are they close to death and need healing, are they on the wrong target when i switch targets, do i have the right pet out for this situation and etc. I don’t have enough time and skill to take care about myself and my pet. It is very frustrating.
I could play with birds maybe (they are small) but they die so quickly …

Birds are pretty stronk in dps. But if you want a bow user id suggest looking at warrior, thief, and guardian(dragonhunter) if you want no pets

The wyverns do good damage against a completely stationary target and bring a lot of CC…. but the problem is… i said COMPLETELY STATIONARY, and unless this is PvE that aint happening.

That’s the thing, on paper wyverns look great… It’s that they can’t hit anything is what’s hurting them so much.

Usually name my pets after the deadly sins(not always accurate representation, would I wouldn’t mind suggestions lol) with a few exceptions

Fire wyvern- completely useless
Electro wyvern – less useless
Fire drake – wrath
Shark – gluttony
Bristleback – sloth
Tiger/small birds- pride
Sulvari dog ( can’t remember name lol) – wts healz
Black Moa – senior black Moa
Smokescale – staple remover
Anything I think that looks ugly – envy

I’m wondering if anyone else has been getting latency/lag since wintersday. I think its Latency as my character sits here “channeling” skills and doing nothing while I can still see players moving and stuff.

Is anyone else experiencing this since the Wintersday update or is it just me? My ingame ping is usually around 50-80 so I dont think its a ping issue. I also check on speedtest and I noticed my internet speed dropped from 120mbps to 80mbps but I still dont think thats causing the lag.

That seems about right.. Iv noticed a pattern. I spend a day getting stomped as the other team is really good and coordinated and or my team has no idea how to pvp and then the next day I breeze thru wins into the next tier

I made a build that focused on soloing for HoT. Figured in order to take more than 1 hit before I die in zerker gear I’d need to swap it out for something else. I made this build in mind as a cheap replacement while im mapping/doing story missions in HoT.

I used a mix of zerker/carrion/rabid to get a mix of perc/power/cond/and vit for condition sustain and some survivability.

I used condition cause I from what I understand, HoT mobs are tougher then old tyrian mobs and conditions would be more useful.

Yeah… that pet was pretty op, It didnt give a kitten about what ever was trying to kill it. Something had to go, and im glad his machine gun is still here

I always liked playing the archer archetypes… and that iv invested far too much into my ranger to switch to another class (been feeling the warrior/guardian lately but I cant just give up my ranger)

oh, idc if wyverns suck kittens, they’re too sexy to pass on atleast in pve

The nerf was kinda called for if my Bristleback could face tank nearly every enemy in HoT. I will never forget the day he tanked the Legendary Blademaster Diarmid and allowed for the team to rez during the dragon stand event xD

With legendary armor coming, I was wondering if its worth crafting ascended armor right now.

Only have the chest piece crafted and was gunna try to get the rest of the armor crafted so I can be ready for raids. But with legendary armor I was wondering if it will be just better to get that and possibly save money

What nerfs? So many people complaining about nerfs but on the update page on the wiki all I see is the nerf on the smokescale but there seems to be more.. I feel left out >.>

Now that dungeons and fractals are out of the equation, what else can one do to make gold? Complaining isnt gunna get me anywhere so might as well look for solutions.

Have been just popping in time to time to do the daily dungeon fractal runs so I havnt really kept up with other means to farm gold. So im kinda clueless how were suppose to make money when they nerfed dungeons again. Did HoT other then Raids bring a new way to make gold?

Yeah there’s raids which I was excited to do, from what I understand ascended is required but im 4 pieces to be fully geared.

I heard SW and WvW are good places to get money but I dont understand what your doing there to get money XD

So any suggestions on what there’s to do to for gold/does ascended armor still drop from PvP/fractal rewards

I changed my mind and I do want pre-purchase HoT. I remember reading somewhere that veterans players who bought the original gw2 before a certain date would receive a free character slot with the purchase of HoT (base version non delux/ultimate).

Is that still a thing and when would I get the free slot anyone know?

It all started when EoTn was released and the moment I say Pyre and and all the charr (didnt care much about them in proph) I just fell in love and said “I NEED TO BE ONE OF THESE!!!” I just want to hug and squeeze charr <3 And everything else about them was just a cherry on top. Their military lifestyle and warlike nature only made me love them more and more. With gw2 I love how they as Zaxares also said, they didnt sexualize females, they look like how a female charr should look like.

And that is why im a charr … my only turn off with charr is what anet is doing with medium armor

YES! Play ranger because you love the ranger or you wont fulfill your hearts desire(I know I tried playing other bow classes). Sb/lb I dont think will be too bad but I’ll put it out there that shortbow is a mainly a condition weapon while Longbow is straight up damage. So if you focus on just one, say condition your longbow will be dead weight but everything works with pve so do what you think is fun ‘cus thats what matters. Just don’t take a bear :X

You have to remember, each legion is stand alone and has its own armies. They cant all be engineers, they need their spies and warriors for battle. A warrior could serve in the Adamant guard or maybe a guard for a war machine crew. The sword and shield theme would still work as a guard. Hell you can even put it as lore that your warrior is a rifle making expert.

Id like to say that if a walking salad can use a gun, then a ranger should be able to use one as well .-.

Hello, can you people insight me on both the shortbow and longbow in all aspects on this game like pve, dungeons, wvw, and pvp on mostly power based set ups.

Been a while since Iv touched my ranger and my natural instinct is bring me back to it and I really want to use a bow… which bow idk since theyre both fun to use and plan on making aether/azureflame

I am just really confused, Iv had my rangers name as Zero Cinderfang since day 1 but since the start of this year whenever I try to name a pet after me for pvp it keeps saying it is “not appropriate” or just now when I tried to make an alternative timeline version of my ranger and came to the conclusion that ‘Cinderfang’ is not appropriate. How is Cinderfang offensive I dont understand, can someone explain how? I dont want an offensive name and get banned >.>

Keep in mind that the dreads are a slightly different texture than the normal types of hair, and thus color looks a tad different on it. Also, the only part of the ‘tubes’ that are customizable are the dijon dyed bits in my screenshot.

Im thinking about one of the new exclusive hairs on my charr but Idk if I will like it with my fur color/face/ect .. I really like how that is now and Im not really going to change that for hair.

I like my characters having a reasonable lore friendly bio, that said Im stuck deciding between a Norn Engineer and an Asuran engineer ( It works xD). But how would a Norn go on as an engineer? So yeah, as title stated, currently whats the most effective way to get ectos? I know they cant be farmed directly so what is there to do that can give me a reasonable amount of exotics/rares to salvage? I’m working for my legendary – specifically Mystic Clovers and I just don’t have any ectos. Sure I can just buy them from the TP but they’re like 40silver each, i’d rather keep that money for cores/lodestones. Any suggestions?
