If my assumptions of ‘balancing’ are correct, then making more skills and utilities viable, but not over powered would be the ultimate goal, making more build diversity and keeping fairness.
From my perspective, I would say
Engineer-Like I’m sure it’s been said before and goes really without saying that our Turrets are practically non existent. They have a short life span in battle and dont make anything worth while happen if destroyed.
Too many traits cost so much and do so little, some do nothing to really benefit the class such as Autodefense Bomb Dispenser being a grandmaster power trait when we already have cloaking device, protection injection, protective shield on early traits. Something that would benefit bombs or nades could go there.
Engineer needs attention Its turrets but also its Gadgets, they’re hardly used and mainly because they’re arent many traits to benefit with them. Battering Ram and Mines have little to no use and hardly any traits to help with that.(especially battering ram it could be scratched and noone would probably miss it)
Lastly I think that Weapon variety lacks quite abit with there only being 3. and combination of 3.
Warrior-doenst need a buff balance really, but a better balance of weapon choice. When almost every warrior in the Game is Hambow theres a problem with the rest of the class imo
Ranger- I think rangers need more trait help with sword/dagger options

Guys I think perhaps you should just stick to 3 votes for all-round priority rather than splitting your votes into WvW/PvX categories – the devs will have no way of knowing your 3 primary votes if you’re categorising.

1. Ranger, completely obvious, if you put anything other than ranger as 1, you are biased.
This class is completely and utterly useless in 100% of the game. Each class has something unique and SOME VIABLE BUILDS. This one is in complete shambles.
They bring absolutely nothing to the table in a zerg in wvw.
PvE, their only buffs are a spirit and spotter lol? any class is better at giving support in a PvE meta event or dung.
All rangers can do is condi roaming/spvp build thats it. Completely and utterly useless thanks to the fact pets are by far the WORST class specific mechnic in the game, it’s not even an opinion, thats a pure cold heart fact. Please let me know whos the creative genius that decided to make the only condi cleansing rangers have access too completely tied into KILLING THEIR OWN PET. Yes lets make a design for a mechnic like pets and LETS ADD TRAITS THAT HELP KILL THEIR OWN PET. Awesome thinking, seriously. Fix this class or delete it. Personally I would delete it, its painfully clear Anet you have no idea how to fix this class given the fact there has been 0 useful feedback in almost 2 years on this class.2. Ele – They are in a decent position with a good synergy in terms of offensive capability but omg their surivivability is completely lacking. It’s not even worth getting full PVT armor thanks to the fact you’re DPS will be laughable AND STILL you will get destroyed by anything that breathes on you.
3. I’ll go with thief here… literally all they can do is stealth and backstabs lol. Most one directional class in the game…..
What? Rangers are OP in sPVP and have been for MANY months. They are part of sPVP holy trinity of Guard/Hambow War/Spirit Ranger. The Good fights tournament last week had 16 teams and EVERY SINGLE team had a spirit ranger, Yet there wasn’t a single mesmer in the whole tournament (80+ players) and only 1 elementalist. Rangers have been core to the meta for over half a year, rememeber the Pax final with double ranger teams?
sPVP wise engineers need more help than rangers atm. They barely have a spot in the meta atm and once the bunky condition meta ends they will be %100 not viable.
+1 for 3v3 or 2v2 deathmatch
1. Ranger – THE MOST HATED CLASS in Gw2 for SO LONG.
2. Engineer – The most underrated class, and were less popular, because people say they were difficult. Also, people have been crying to Fix and buff TURRETS. I’ve been hearing this alot, players would rather choose mesmers and eles in dungeons then Engineers and RAnger.
3. Mesmer/Ele – Majority of people say Mesmer is very painful to level. While Ele is one of the hardest to level. I say buff their pve leveling skills, so more people can enjoy the class, rather than crafting to level them up. However, tone down a little bit of mesmer’s pvp skills.
oh and please tone down WARRIORS. They are considered OP in everyway in pvp, pve, and wvw.

From a PvP/WvW perspective, these need “help,” in that they are too powerful and that power achieved too easily (lowering the skill floor), so they need help being balanced:
1) Necro (excessively powerful AI/passive play with MM, condi application still excessive since June 2013)
2) Ranger (excessively powerful AI/passive play with Spirits and bow auto-attacks hit too hard, i.e., poor risk/reward design)
3) Warrior (too good at damage, CC and resilience, all at the same time)

From a PvP perspective;
1. Elementalist. Way too much burst/damage, not enough sustain/survivability.
2. Ranger. Needs more build diversity, more condi removal (Empathetic Bond is a must for pretty much every Ranger build.)
3. Mesmer. Same with Ranger, more build diversity.
From a PvE perspective;
1. Necromancer, not enough damage, condi cap, etc.
2. Ranger, I’m not 100% sure, but a lot of people say they aren’t too good.
3. Engineer, too little damage, everything they can do can be done by another class, works well in PuG’s, but doesn’t have a strong place in organized groups.
From a WvW perspective;
1. Ranger, average in small scale stuff and roaming, subpar in zergs.
2. Elementalist, shoe-horned into running staff buff builds.

Most classes need some major work (especially ranger, engineer and necro, they need to feel like they’re contributing something to the pve end of the spectrum; necro however is fine in wvw and ranger…. not so much.)
Thieves and elementists are too squishy.
Seriously leave guardians and warriors as they are. Stop buffing them and give attention to the other classes.

Ranger is the only class in the game that needs almost a complete rework from the ground up. Ele’s and Mesmers need some bug fixes and some number tweaking. Everything is a distant second to the mess that we call Ranger.

1. Engineers and necros. Specifically pve, they are kitten by condition caps. It has been a problem since day 1. Far too much focus has been placed on pvp balance.
Turrets are ineffective and riddled with bugs. Nerfing net turret as a “balance” fix is a slap in the face. Kits not scaling with ascended. Trait lines ill thought out. Useful things like speed boosts in largely useless lines. Crit damage multiplier from traits is in inventions. Gadget are situational and seldom used. Gadget toolbelt utilities are nowhere as powerful as signet passives. Lack of condition removal outside elixir line.
Out of interest I decided to collate votes from pages 1-7.
Second or third votes for a class were ignored. Only one top 3 per poster, so where more than one was provided I chose buff lists where available. PvP/PvE/WvW posts I had to skip.

With a script it’d be easier. Unfortunately it’s tricky enough to read through the non-standard posts without keeping track of who’s voted too.
It’s not too hard to see that attempting to pad votes that way just means mesmer has a weird number of first places despite being far behind the engineer in importance, though.
