1. RANGER no doubt the most underpowered class in the game with shoddy pet mechanics.
2. Elementalist low damage, low armour, low health need I say more?
3. Engineer, only 2 viable ways to play this profession and the grenade kit #1 will one day cripple someones wrist if it hasn’t already.

3) Necro
1. Elementalist (difficult to survive in in PvE, nerfed as an effective mobile roamer in WvW, and completely unviable in sPvP)
2. Ranger (frustrating to play with in PvE, easily chased down with no escapes in WvW, only viable in sPvP due to a terrible cheesy Spirits build)
3. I actually feel the rest of the classes are largely balanced and at least excel and have build diversity in one of the larger formats. Necros underperform in PvE but are generally considered pretty strong in PvP formats, and Thief is theoretically very strong but just hard to survive with in all formats. I guess both of these classes kinda tie for the third spot here.
Necromancers have a megaton of problems, bugs, glitches, and tones of poor synergy. Most of these problems caused by death shroud. They are strong in 2 areas in PvP. Their minions which just overwhelm, and their condition spec which is all damage. They are very poor at self defense and can easily be CCed to death.
They need major help. Not just on a balance stand point, but on a usability and bug stand point. We literally have to abuse a bug in order to stomp without being interrupted. We have to abuse some of our bugs in order to be competitive while other bugs get us killed… A lot!
PS. once you get to 80 on an ele, it isn’t very hard to survive. Pretty easy actually.

1_ Ranger. For PVE and WWW sux, in Spvp only spirit build is viable but is completely brainless. Pet F2 is terrible, need a rework
2_ Elementalist. But you need to be carefull. Ele damage is insane, if u give him a lot of sustain, you recreate the old monster ele or another beast like warrior now.

1)NECRO!!! (lots of bugs and little use in PvE)
2)Ranger
3)idk maybe mesmer
I also really don’t like this type of poll. I think people will tend to be biased toward saying that their class needs balancing (myself included). It then becomes a thread of how many people play the classes that can be considered underpowered in certain situations, instead of which classes actually need balancing.
1) Ranger
2) Tie between Elementalist and Necromancer

You really need to make a distinction between pvp and pve environments in a request like this. That is undoubtedly having a huge impact on the responses you are getting here…including my own. My response is solely about pve.
1. Necromancer
2. Ranger
3. Elementalist
Necromancers need a desirable power/cleave/melee set up for dungeons/fractals. They need mobility and the ability to negate one-shots. Please make different versions of death shroud (example: melee version, ranged version, condition version)…this could be a similar functionality to elementalists atunements or guardian virtues. Necromancers need viable alternatives to wells. Perhaps improve functionality and shorten the cool downs on spectrals to compliment a melee play style.
Rangers need something to make them desirable for dungeons/fractals too. Not quite sure what that is yet. Maybe very similar to what necromancers need. This current “bearbow” epidemic is a problem.
Elementalists need what you guys keep saying you are trying to give them. That is the ability to not have to go 30 into arcane and water to be able to have reasonable survival. All you accomplish by moving needed traits that deep into arcane/water is to force the exact opposite of what you say you are trying to accomplish. Maybe bake some of those “mandatory” traits into the class instead? The cool downs on elementalist survival utilities like arcane shield are also a bit prohibitive.

1. Absolutely the Necro. So broken in PvE it’s silly.

So far, I’m seeing that it’s pretty unanimous that people think Elementalist and Ranger need the most help in all areas.
I’ve already cast my vote but I’d like to point out – Eles don’t need help in pve, at all. People list them without qualification but right now most dungeon speed clear teams always take an ele, often 2. Part of this is the “fgs thing”, but it’s not the only reason. It’s really only in PvP game modes that they are struggling. Rangers are a clunky class, and necros have no place in pve right now.
