General Dungeon Discussion Thread - Part 2
I’m hyped!
TL;DR: I like what they said, it’s waaaay better than getting nothing.
Me too. I already catch myself wondering which of my characters (currently 12 at lvl 80) I’ll send into the jungle first . But there’s still so much to do before that …
Plus, I’m with Spoj here, this looks like the perfect timeframe for a good month of SAB before the expansion hits .

Tomorrow’s patch is still a mystery aside from few balance changes. Who knows there might a be a few treats in there.
Dunno if any of you guys are interested in TP stuff, but if you wanna make your own spreadsheet, here’s a tutorial I made + spreadsheet example.
Kicked my first person from a dungeon today! Silly guard trying to use consecrated ground trick on lupi, he was gone before the AE finished… luckily it was only a p2 skip but ugh, i hate that thing, and luckily the rest of my group did too(PUG).
Can have tldr Sam?
nvm, watched…. sounds boring as hell

Colin Johanson: I think from a feature perspective, the core fundamental features that make up Heart of Thorns, we talked about today. We were maybe intentionally vague when we didn’t talk about what types of content you’re going to experience specifically in the jungle, but the most important messages we want people to take from today are that you’re going to be able to explore a new area, and we know that Guild Wars 2 needs more challenging encounters and more challenging group encounters, and it needs extremely challenging encounters for groups to build up to and defeat. We’re going to be providing all of that with our Heart of Thorns experience.

gw2 general discussion has given me cancer and caused my winky to detach itself in search of a real man.

Adventures in pug-land: daily fractals edition.
Not having much time for dungeons or fractals lately, I used yesterday’s fractal dailies as an excuse to send my 2nd account into fractals via lfg (to get the much-needed pristine relics for some decent rings).
First try was a total disaster. Three charr (from the same guild) and one human, together with my little asura mesmer. I should’ve known something was off when they were all loitering around LA asking “who can open” in party chat. Inside, the charr proceeded to jump right in, drew ascalon as first fractal (how fitting ), and ran straight ahead in the direction of Dulfy.
And I mean straight, as in a straight line from the starting spot to the gate. Needless to say, they were slaughtered pretty much instantly. The human hugged the wall and proceeded to the gate without taking a look at what the rest of the party was doing, and fell prey to the burning oil above the gate.
I have to admit I was quite speechless. I haven’t encountered anything like that in a while, but before I could even ask in group chat if any of them had done the fractal before, the “back to mistlock observatory” dialog appeared on screen and the first person rage-quit from the group. I bowed out at that point, too.
The second group I found a while later was actually pretty decent. The guardian didn’t talk, unfortunately, which made it a bit uncomfortable to provide group stability by mesmer mantra only, but we got everything done without wipe, and actually had fun chatting all the way. And I’ve got three more pristine relics, which were exactly what I needed for the next ring for my little ranger .

I have not even ever had them being so nice to my lovely charr, you should take it as a sign and ask them to e-marry you.
Has this been posted here already?

Just checkin’.
Beware of weekend pugs ><
Meh. When the LFG description just says “story”, this is what I expect going in.

This is amazing. And all this time I’ve thought that they hated us!

I believe they are intentionally avoiding that word because even if they introduced instanced content. They dont want to use the same design as our classic dungeons. So we may get new types of instanced content. Maybe elite zones or instanced bosses.

I’d love to see some larger instanced “dungeons” . Like perhaps 10 man, or something like that. 2 parties. I hope to see stuff like that for guilds too.
And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?

I’m debating working on another legendary after I complete my Moot since prices are falling, but… hmm.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
Don’t buy precursor if you can wait until HoT. Every precursors will be unlocked through the new collection.
- doranduck, 2016 on Lore in Raids
i guess i won’t have to grind so much RL money for my precursors now
Every precursor? Or just the new ones?
I just got Dusk this morning for 1K gold
Every pre, once per account.
Need party EU for dungeon tour.

Anyone finding Tazza in SE p1 resetting randomly since patch? :S

We had Kholer rest randomly after patch.
(edited by Miku Lawrence.6329)
We had Tazza reset on us about 4 times in a row the other day. I figured it had something to do with us duoing messing with something, but dunno. After we pulled some guildies in, she didn’t reset again.
This was about 2 weeks ago, though, not since the patch. I did notice that last night it took a few tries to pull her.
I just pulled Tazza with no issues.
“Memories are nice, but that’s all they are.”
Yeah I was trio-ing maybe that’s why.
I wouldn’t say I’m on the pillar at the moment, but I’m quite interested to hear what they have to say in the future.
I tried out the new Invigorating Precision on the champ entities in Arah p1 last night. With signet of malice and dragon rolls, ended up with over 25 stacks of light and barely dropped below 100% health. Once they all died I went down almost instantly since I stopped dealing damage xD
Help me with my new ele for the coming specialization.
1, 2 or 3?

I vote 2 because butt capes look bad.

It’s an overused look and looks meh. Go for sylvari, can’t do wrong :>
I deleted my sylvari warrior to make this hot babe. No regret, m8.

It wouldn’t be so overused if light males had better coat options.
But this is the reality in which we live; butt capes, butt capes everywhere.
The bright side is that there is always the female human meta.
I’m kidding, Asura master race k.

I reserved the name “Salad of the Mists” ready for some sylvari revenant fashion.
All I an say is that I want just two things:
- Account-wide unlock.
- Vanquiser mode for dungeons.
You complete Story Mode with any character, you get explorable account-wide for any other character of that dungeon’s recommended level.
Complete all explorable paths, you get Vanquisher mode unlocked for any level 80 character.
- Enter with a party of 1-5. Scaled content.
- All doors open. Fully explorable.
- Events and bosses on each main room. Bonus hidden events and jumping puzzles.
- 3 weekly bonus reward ‘stages’. Bronze, Silver and Gold. Like Guild missions, can be retried as much as you want each week, but you will only get the difference if you got lesser rewards.
- No checkpoints, no waypoints, no joining mid-way, no drops from enemies, all drops from events, boss chests and bonus. Wipe and you are out. Fail or leave, and you only get the rewards from the events and boss chests, and the bonus up to the last stage completed.
Complete all 8 Vanquishes once, you get an achievment, a title and a bonus chest, and unlock a repeatable version of the achievement. The repeatable achievement is infinite, but only gives up to 250 AP; 5AP per completion. After that you only get the bonus chest.
The bonus chest gives 500 of a generic token. Talk with Dougal Keane to open his cool new shop. There use the generic token as currency to exchange it for tokens of specific dungeons in any amount you want, or to buy ascended materials to craft items (along other ascended materials) that can be used to “ascend” dungeon exotics.
