crash and log back issue.

Afaik this was with Tequatl/Wurm before too, megaserver didnt change it.

Yesterday I was in pt with a guild member, we did world bosses. What I didn’t get, is that on 2 occassions (of the 3/4 bosses) we were sent to different maps.

He was a guildie and in my party and we didnt get on the same server, how come? If we used /join in * we would teleport to the other’s server directly….

I don’t imagine this will be seen in the flood of things being said, but I want to write these things down since they have been bothering me about the Megaserver for the last week or so. Let me say that I do enjoy having more people around sometimes — that’s a plus, and some world events get done more quickly/more often that way. However, two things really irk me.

1. The gold spammers are absolutely, 100% out of control. When I first started playing this game, which was admittedly not long ago, I absolutely loved that I could play a free-to-play-by-month game that wasn’t inundated with spam. I receive at least ten gold selling, hacked account whispers every hour now; it’s incredibly tedious and disappointing.

2. I loved the atmosphere on my home server that I chose, and that atmosphere is now gone. I went from a friendly, somewhat quiet server, to a map chat that is absolutely rampant with sexism, racism, homophobia, and further excessive trolling that is borderline insufferable. I realize that I can block and report these things, and I do. I am not complaining that people are behaving inappropriately; rather that the entire cultural environment in which I enjoyed playing the game has gone to waste.

Basically, if I wanted to play with these sorts of irritating additions, I’d play a handful of other games that I had left because I enjoyed the atmosphere of GW2 that much more. I am honestly sad that’s gone, now. :(

I agree.

There are so many more things that I dislike/hate about the megaserver update… but at this point I don’t think it matters if I post them. Many have already stated them and Anet hasn’t cared enough to respond to any of it.

My enjoyment for this game is deteriorating rapidly.

Megaserver is first thing I don’t like in thiis game and I droped playing because of that. I have no more fun while I don’t have even 1fps on world boss events – my computer can’t handle it now.

It’s time for you to get a new computer, then! A-net once stated that updates will force you to do so from time to time, i suppose Skynet is one of said downgrades……. (….er…..updates….my bad), that require a 4000 Euros gaming rig to work properly…….on low settings! See, they’re helping computer selling companies sell stuff, so everyone’s happy!

Okay, i’ll stop the sarcasm now, as i have similar issues with you. I have a somewhat powerful PC, and i get around 20FPS in zergs (ultra low settings), but that’s the only “positive” (eh!?) thing about it. My GPU reaches out more than 105 degrees celcius when i encounter zerg, even with frame limitation on to “prevent” overheating, and it eventually shuts down to prevent damage. The same GPU who never exceeds 96 degrees on Tomb Raider on Ultra, with TressFX on. So go figure.

A picture is worth a thousand words as i said earlier, so this time, i’m proud (not really) to give a more…. “metaphorical” example.

So, in case you fail to understand what’s going on there, the hand is the megaserver, and the rest, us. The community. Enjoy.

Yes, this is what your megaserver does. So i ask again, is this what you want?

Five and a half to Nine hours gap between the Uber hard world bosses. Are you guys serious. Im pretty even tempered (most ) of the time, but thinking like this drives me wild. Sorry, but this is ridiculous.

I assume you want people to actually attend these things, and yet go out of your way to put barriers to prevent them to achieve this.

The following extra-hard world bosses will occur at specific times, interrupting the standard rotation:

I don’t want to excuse the harsh mix up of different languages by introducing the Megaserver and the poor try to safe the situation by the chat filter hotfix, but yesterday I made an experience, which without Megaserver I wouldn’t have ever made, I guess.
I was leveling an alt in Kessex Hills, when suddenly a player in the /tell channel nearby me said: “J’aime ton costume” – I had french in school about 15 years ago and remembered that J’ means I and ton means your and apart from that the words aime and costume are not hard to understand, so I replied “merci”, although I am an austrian player using the german client on a german server, with the chat filter deactivated. We played a few minutes side by side and also killed the toxic spider-queen champ.
I could have answered in german or english, but I understood what she/he was saying so I answered in french, though it was a very basic conversation. If it would have gone deeper, I probably swapped to english.

Just a very short story that not all different language confrontations have to compulsory end in a flame war. It’s still babel, but fortunately the tower stays solid.

still don’t understand why mega server was not just added as extra server next to the existing servers. use mega as an underflow option when you enter a low population map (give popup like when server was ready to get out of overflow) so you can opt to join there.

A lot of people are saying this. The real reason we have megaservers is to save Anet money. The fewer map instances, the less server resources are needed, the more money Anet saves.

It may very well be the case to save money, although I doubt that myself. I think the fault is in the mind set that has set in. GW1 had an elegant and simple approach to servers, best exemplified by big events like Halloween. The servers would be numbered sequentially, and in essence when one filled up, another was created and acted as the ‘overflow’.
If you wanted to get in and meet up with a group, it was easy—‘hey guys, meet up in server **, see you there’. Easy, simple, effective—everything you want.

But with GW2 you hear—‘cant be done—technologically imposable’, and I think people are buying into this. There’s a huge difference between can’t, and won’t because, hey, that was GW1, it has a 1 in it, we don’t want to do that because, this is GW2 and has a 2 in it.

Things should have been designed with these in mind in the first place. Things should have been tested properly before dropping the whole thing on the entirety of the game. Im pretty tired of being a beta tester. I pre-purchased the game and i was in the open beta weekends. And with the zergs of players like it was during launch and the number of issues, and total lack of polish, i still feel like im in beta.

Megaservers is such a huge change in the system of things that it boggles my mind that Anet thought that they would just introduce the idea without any previous discussion, then implement it a week after, then completely rolling it out to the whole game without a line okittennowledgement of the dozens of pages of issues with it.

They figure that they will get it right in time, well i dont belive they will. There is not a single thing in the game that works properly without any issues or in a way that cannot be improved.

I may be wrong here, i dont know all that much about programming…. But do i trust a developer company that cannot get basic minion AI right, to program an AI that will seamlessly figure out who i want to socialize with? I wouldnt trust an AI to manage human relations if it was the most sophisticated AI on the world. AIs are for monotone and dangerous labor, or for jobs that require precision. NOT human relation and socialisation aspects, not definetly NOT by taking the actual choice of the matter out of the human players hand.

Im sorry but have to put my voice in on this . When they announced that mega server was coming I was excited because the zones would be populated more. I love meeting new ppl and getting together helping each other out. But…….. This last week HAS BEEN A LIVING HELL!!!
1. freakin spam whispers from gold sellers ( was hit like 10 times in an hour block and report come on! Missing whispers from friends and guildies getting lost in the spam. )
2.Can’t shout for help in city for WvW because all servers are together so they know whats going on.
3. Guild missions ( omg shoot me now!) Bountys-We hunt them down before we start. We start it when most are found. Then we start it and ping wp in guild. then everyone in guild goes to the wp ( you can guess what happens then with this wonderful kitten mega server bs. ) it takes us 4 mins or longer to get everyone on same server. We have to add ppl to group and ferry ppl in give me a break so it dont get done in time. Im not going to get into the rest of the missions. its all the same
4. shouting in guild when a boss is up and pinging wp and everyone is on different maps not doing it together as a guild.

There is so much more but Im so tired that I just log out and cry. I have been playing guild wars since beta of guild wars 1 . You have ruined my GAME MODE!!! ( yea I stole that from one of the arena net devs who got involved a few months back with a gvg match going on in WvW lol sorry) I have enough stress in rl that I play this game to kill some monsters with some friends and relax and laugh not been going that way this week.
So Anet please fix this. I know you probley think we don’t deserve an answer from you since this is a free to play game but WE ALL DO!! We buy stuff from your Gem store. I know I have personaly bought at least 30 dollars avg a month that is more then a sub fee and people who pay sub fees get treated better then what you are doing to us now! I dont want to leave this game but I might have to if things dont change. I might be better off paying a sub fee and getting better treatment. sorry guys for rant been building up

Yeah, my reaction is mixed on the whole Megaserver rollout. I think the concept was great to repopulate zones, but one thing I noticed with this is a return of lag. Some zones almost have too many people for certain events that the lag is getting out of hand again. Did a Melandru run last night and it was a little frustrating.

Honestly, what’s the problem with the Districts model from GW1?

-I used to take part in the Tequatl encounter at least twice a week and really enjoyed doing it. I havnt been able to do Teq since the update due to the scheduling. This sucks massively.

-I used to run the temples in Orr everyday for fun. I cant do this anymore as the temples are permanently uncontested / already completed.

-Guild missions are a nightmare for our large guild to organize, everyone ends up in a different instance and its a real pain in the kitten “taxiing” everyone into one instance. When we get to a mission ect, there are usually 3 or 4 other guilds doing the same thing, what a mess to see 20 odd commander badges and all the fun sucked out of the guild event.

It is nice however to see some of the maps busier and people partaking in dynamic events that would otherwise be left untouched for weeks. But this is a small plus compared to the above problems I have with the mega server so far.

Actually its really affected my loot as well, as the above events are what I do most, I don’t do dungeons hardly ever anymore as ive done them enough already and they become very boring. Ive hardly made any gold since the update by doing the things I love most. I suppose I should buy my gold for real money? No chance Anet, no chance.

I was also very excited at first, but after some more thoughts and reading forum posts and experiencing the system ingame I came to the conclusion, that this concept of a Megaserver does not help us players enjoy the game more than we did before. There are problems everywhere, some of which might get fixed in the future, but there are real conceptual problems that can’t be tweaked away.

At least, please give us the choice to return to our own server instances, so that a lot of us can enjoy the game again.

Megaserver has ruined all sense of community we once had on our servers. Our major cities (Divinity’s Reach, Ratasum, Black Citadel, The Grove, and hopefully Lion’s Arch when and if it returns) are no longer community based, and I am not sure why those were changed to megaserver. They serve no purpose as megaserver. Why even give us the option to be on specific servers if really, we don’t have a specific server anymore? We can no longer put a call out that our Garrison on our server is under attack, a call out that a train is starting on our borderlands, or even effectively recruit for guilds. RP servers can no longer have the full RP experience they once had….

This is a plea to Anet. Please take our major cities out of megaserver. Leave the rest of the world, seeing as it is loads of fun to always see people everywhere. But please, please give us back our sense of community we once had with our servers back into our major cities.

Empty PvE zones, bad. Empty cities? Even worse. There was always going to be a transition period, because GW2 didn’t start off with its MegaServer system. I think there’s still opportunity to have communities and different things – in fact, you’ll have a lot more people to include – but it’ll take some effort to adjust. If the MegaServer tries to group players by guild membership and such, it should reliably place you with the people you were used to seeing. If it doesn’t, it just means it still needs to be tweaked, which ANet made clear.

As for the server identity thing, well, it’s not really there outside of WvW (and that’s where it matters the most, so I’m fine with that).

I agree, the major cities should have been left alone. I don’t agree that server identity is limited to only WvWvW either as one poster wrote. Mega servers are good on paper but I do think they haven’t been implemented well so far.

I would rather have seen it on a server basis for their roll out plan, not just by zones. The most populated servers didn’t really need any merger through this system. I can see it beneficial for servers with lower populations but I do think spanning it across all servers immediately was a bad idea(just my opinion).

Pros:

1) a lot more people around you → game fells less empty
2) absolutely empty regions like Orr have people now! wow :-D
3) mixed servers makes WvW fun again. Its like spies in enemy city. It was dull running from point A to B, C, bla bla bla before patch and megaserves. Now enemy can change plans very quickly if some wannabe wvw guild shouts in city the strategy plans for attack, ect.

Cons:

1) giant slayer title is impossible to finish now. Everyone farms the spots dulfy.net wrote about and I gave up on this title. Yet it was perfect spot and title to farm.
2) some events perfect for soloplay are unplayable now. I cant even “tag” single enemy and event is done.
3) It didnt change my opinion about dungs, fractals, name it… Still the same for me. looking for party tool, dung, fracts, wait 5-15minutes and voilá. Expected time between 10secs – 2minutes

Proposed solution:

a) Maps with soloable events → limited players count. Less people actualy make some events more fun.
b) Maps with dungs and world events → huge loads of people please

I think ideas for how to address community building by worlds in this post Mega-server atmosphere should be ANET’s next CDI so lets save them a little time and get started on the list now. What are some changes you would like to see implemented that could help foster world identities and build more closely knit communities to enhance players enjoyment of the game? I realize right now the WvW community is the only one that is strongly linked to their world and that Mega-servers were a step in the right directly for a lot of the PvE zones but I feel there is a lot more that could be done to make this a better experience for everyone.

Some random ideas I think might help address the problems of community building for WvW in a Mega-server driven PvE climate in no particular order are:

  • World chat; a chat tab for server (world) limited communication. Both pros and cons to this idea and wasn’t possible when the game launched from what I remember but maybe things have changed.
  • World selection panel identity; a way to express world personality from the world selection screen in game to help new players make better choices about where they want to call home. I was a fan of adding something like world mascots or battle cries chosen by the world community back before launch that would show up on the world selection panel but I realize that would take a lot of effort from ANET to put together. It still could be fun to have some world polls on the forums for those sorts of things and a way to bring the community together while making the choices. Maybe something as simple as links the world communities fan webpages from the world selection screen would be enough if the other stuff is too complicated.
  • One free world transfer to new accounts; new accounts should receive one free world transfer token as it is not fair to punish them for not knowing where they would most happily find a home before they even create a character and then throw them into PvE maps with players and guilds from all worlds. I imagine a lot of guilds will use paying for your world transfer as a recruiting tool but I don’t think ANET needs all of that gem sale cash, just ease up a bit on the new accounts and then raise the prices of transfers most of the time since it is already way too easy to jump around worlds.
  • No Mega-server city hubs; rebuilt Lions Arch zone at least and possibly all cities should be disconnected from the Mega-server to serve as gathering places for the community, this seems to be a rather popular request and hopefully something ANET is already working on.
  • In game world message panel; a way to advertise world community events in game to server mates using maybe some combination from the lfg panel and guild message tech to better allow cross map community communication and organization as a way to limit cross-server spying paranoia.
  • In game server-wide recognition messages; in GW1 messages were broadcast when individual players reached certain major milestones or teams won certain tournaments. You would only see messages from players on your world and could of course turn off the achievement notifications messages in the chat UI for more choice but this would help the community better recognize each other and probably be a bit of fun for the big AP hunters who are proud of their accomplishments.

I am pretty sure the RP community has a ton of other suggestions on ways to improve the Mega-server experience for them on the PvE maps and I have a feeling a lot of ANET’s “you’ll be on the same map as your friends” tech didn’t work out as intended (yet?) but these are a few of the things I think could help the WvW community continue to thrive under the new Mega-server system. What are some others?

Didn’t have room for one of the longer points about living story above so adding it here. It is probably way too complicated to ever see the light of day but the direction I think ANET needs to be thinking, ways to tie the world community more tightly together and give us reasons to get involved in making those connections more solid.

  • Living Story elements tied to world achievements; a way to involve the PvE crowd in the world community not by bringing more LS into WvW but making the rate at which world members earn LS AP affect how that story plays out in a zone. This would mean finding a way to disconnect a zone from the Mega-server temporarily at times so LS events could to be more limited to the world community (with the overflows brought into the Mega-server) and progress at different speeds depending on how focused a particular world was at working through the story elements. For some world less interested in LS AP the story arc could take longer but give everyone there more time to participate. This is probably way too much pie in the sky and more than the LS team could handle but it would be a neat way to gather people more interested in progressing the Living Story together while others could take it more slowly. For a casual player who tends to focus on WvW first, two weeks is rarely enough time to participate in all of the Living Story events. The rebuilding of Lions Arch could be a great first test of something like that especially if the Lions Arch zone itself was removed from the Mega-server and then the worlds who spent more time and resources on the rebuilding events could have their city done sooner. And if LS events were going to be in WvW (not a fan of them there but maybe if done right it would be ok) then make them have an effect on how the LS on that world progresses as well so that winning WvW matches could also impact (not in any drastic way) how the LS unfolded for your world. Visions of “Chose your own adventure” books are coming to mind which could be rather messy but very interesting. Maybe sort of like how the election stuff from last years LS played out?

EoTM was a testbed for megaservers.

It failed in terms of gameplay (it’s merely a karma train now) because of lack of community: people are dumped into the map allied with those from other servers — people you’ve never met and will never meet again in subsequent logins. There’s no sense of identity so no one cares whether they win or lose.

Megaservers in PvE: same thing. Everyone in your instance is some random player whom you’ve never met and will never meet again. This brings the troll out of people and we’ve seen it quite a bit since April 15.

Anet had a chance to learn from the EoTM mistake. But they didn’t. They likely won’t learn anything from megaservers either.

I’ve come to the conclusion that we will never see cities removed from megamerger.

The mechanics for this merger carry forward. They won’t ever have to “merge” servers again. Allowing for server specific cities would break the illusion of a populated game, and I think, personally, that creating that illusion was and is the prime motivation of this Megamerge.

Eventually they will have to megamerge WvW to maintain population illusion.. but the groundwork for that is already in.

I think they don’t want to reveal how many (or few) instances of each map exists at one time. As for “technologically impossible” — you’re right, total BS excuse invented by white knights.

I didn’t realize Anthony Ordon was a white knight now. Cool.

Look, with enough time and money, anything is technologically possible. ArenaNet just determined that the resource cost to do it this was was too high.

You can dislike that conclusion, but you will always have less information than ArenaNet did when they made it.

Some of us just recognize that we don’t know enough to say they could have easily done it. Don’t berate us as “white knights” for that.

It’s too hard to create a dropdown menu? It’s too hard to use the same code from selecting a world to guest on? You do realize guesting is just moving from one instance to another. Anet’s excuse is total BS.

Here is another example of how it makes the game unplayable.

(And no it isn’t the youtube stream lagging. All of those stops are from the persons computer lagging in game. They rubberband constantly, the movement stops for seconds at a time. Honestly I had trouble even watching the video and refreshed youtube several times thinking it was youtube until I realized the timer on the video was still going fine.)

Megaservers for GW2 is like trying to shove a square peg down a round hole.

GW1 had a server system — a rather good one actually. This game came out in 2005 and the server switching technology was simple and elegant. It outshines the GW2 megaserver in every way: every player could clearly see what districts were available for a given map, you could choose districts based on language preference, and it was almost never an issue to get to where you wanted to go.

It is also true that GW1 wasn’t really a true MMO in the classical sense — every single map outside of cities was instanced for a max party size of 8. Given the construction of that game, the server system made perfect sense.

With GW2, which very much follows the classic MMO model, and is supposed to be based around guilds, large player communities, and large groups of players interacting together, this megaserver business is completely illogical.

It is sort of like what someone else said once before about Edge of the Mists: there are no real teams or sides since you are just tossed in with a bunch of random people so no one cares who wins. This restructuring of the entire PvE server system threatens to have the exact same effect upon the rest of the game.

My assumption was that GW2 was supposed to be about large groups of players being able to play and interact together. Here, we have large groups of players: guilds, RPers, server communities, who want to interact and play together; who enjoy having their own identity within the game, but are finding their efforts hampered by megaservers. I am sure you can see the disconnect here.

As I am not a server code programmer at ArenaNet, I can’t tell you why they are unable to do it. As I do have a degree in computer engineering, I can tell you it’s entirely likely there’s a reason that we don’t understand based on our very limited knowledge of their code.

It’s also possible that the reason they don’t allow the feature has nothing to do with code and everything to do with potential exploits. They were cagey.

It’s, as you suggest, also possible that they’re just lying. That’s just not immediately obvious and I’m very reluctant to jump to that conclusion. But do as you like.

At this point, we can be sure there are little to no viable solutions for our concerns/issues. I know they’ve tweaked the numbers and i do see a bit more (depending on time of day) of my server mates, but it’s still pretty few and far between. Sadly, if they don’t ditch this system, i’m not sure how many people are just going to adapt before they get fed up and just leave.

I don’t comment much but I am afraid I have to side with those that rather like the megaserver change. I have seen very little lag, and very little in the way of gold sellers as well. Having maps now that don’t feel like a complete desolation is a good thing imo. Perhaps it may be my system, which is as follows:

Spec’s
Alantic Broadband ISP
TT 850 Psu
770 SC GFX Evga
16gigs Ram
SSD Drive
i7 3770 3.4ghz
Asrock MB Z77 OC Formula
47 inch HDMI Toshiba
Steel Series KB with Logi G15 Mouse

Not a bunch of people but the settings in my attachment is what I use in WvW and World events as well, large zergs it will drop to about 40 to 30 fps. Otherwise it sits at 60.

So another complaint to add to the megaserver system… was trying to do Temple of Balthazar and one of the events bugged out. There seems to be only one mega server.. relogging always drops you into the same mega… how do you get around this bugged event? You used to be able to guest to another server where the event wasn’t bugged.

Now with mega server it is just bugged and nothing you can do about it. sigh

How do you have so few people in that picture?!? I always get dropped into instances that have what you have and then add about 80. I can’t see the ground that I’m walking on because there are so many people in the way.

EDIT: I think I understand, you are showing a picture of before the MS patch. You were just trying to show us what your settings looked like.

Don’t know if its just that there’s more folks around in general, or specific to the mega-servers. But to me it seems like they have brought back the bots. While finding a spot to do stuff on my own now I run into others that just kill stuff, they don’t respond to whispers asking if they want to participate in the event or not. If I had to guess they are just bots from the way the move from fight to fight. Before the mega-servers when I met others we would often chat a bit, tag along together for an event or two before parting ways again.

Maybe you can conclude that in general Megaservers are good for solo players and bad for (organized) groups / communities. However most people belong to a group or communities.

However ArenaNet had never done much for (organized) groups / communities.

Parties of only 5 people are not really group friendly, guild-tools are still lacking and it took almost 2 years to get a ‘last online’ function. There are no raids and RP gamers still can’t sit on a chair.

Maybe they only want solo gamers? But then again, there is also not much to do for them so they need to then join up with random other solo players making it pug (not organized) groups.

Inspired by CharJC, here’s what it looks like right now on my server. Note the not-ridiculous number of players. Also note that I recognize all these guild tags: EG LION RISE GSCH Aco Shdw Ph LUN SIN, putting the number of players almost certainly part of my server at half, maybe higher.

I have a much slower PC (i5 3770, Radeon HD7770, 8gb) which explains the lower framerate.

I’m really confused about all these pictures showing so many people in the Keep as it doesn’t match with my experience. At all.

The megaserver systems requires the following things:

  • The ability for guilds to create private instances or guild world events, and determining who can and cannot enter them. These instances won’t be map-wide. Like personal stories and the starting instance, they’ll have a “border” and teleport back in or kick out those who move outside the boundaries.
  • Numbering to identify each particular instance of a map created by the system, so people can try and enter the same map without getting in the same party.
  • Queues like in WvW maps, so people can queue to enter the same map if it’s full.
  • A list of all existing instances of any map available to any player from anywhere. For example, whenever they click a waypoint in that map from anywhere in the world, a third button in the waypoint confirmation message opens a panel with this list.
  • This list must include:
    • Number of friends on each instance.
    • Number of guildies on each instance.
    • Queue size.
    • If you are waiting in a queue, your position in that queue.
    • If the instance is a private world event instance, a symbol to indicate it, like a lock.

That way people will have an easier time getting together, and be able to set instances private to attempt things without random strangers if so they want.

I’m not really sure whether you’re someone trying to do damage control or just troll, this thread has reached almost 33 pages and guess what the MAJORITY aren’t pointlessly complaining. They’re offering feedback and have been despite the fact we haven’t gotten an official reply for almost a month.

People are having trouble because.. Tequatl, wurm and other world bosses aren’t located there. Neither is Karka Queen, or any of the temples. You know that. You also know that initially cities were filled to the brim because it was patch day and now they’re dying down they aren’t half as bad (off peak hours) but still particulary awful when you’re on your enemy WvW’s map.

Does that mean I can still find my friends in the world? No, not unless we’re grouped and jump through hoops, even then, it’s far too random.

Is there anywhere I can see them without trouble, anywhere that makes server community and WvW matter? No.

Does that mean I can spam join to join them? No, infact it stops you from doing that.

Does that mean I can RP with them in Divinity’s Reach without being harassed / not having to jump through various hoops to do so? (And even then half the people we’re trying to get in touch with might be on another shard, they kitten sure were the other night.) So no.

Does your picture mean I have server community anymore? No.

This is whole thread is mostly legitimate feedback. What are you getting out of this? 1k+ people are all crazy? We’re all nuts? Why do you feel the need to post anecdotal evidence to try and detract from what we’re saying? (And yes considering the majority are not in favour, I wouldn’t call it anecdotal feedback!)

Sure there are a very few people moaning and others going “ah get rid of plz!!!!!!” but the majority of people have offered nothing but polite feedback considering their gameplay has been disrupted for a good month. So now I’ve alleviated your confusion, alleivate mine!

(Take into account as well posts have been deleted ot merged. One by the leader of the Alliance of guilds that run Teq for example, people who actually shouldn’t be seemingly brushed aside for obvious reasons.)

P.S. People are asking for small changes they aren’t trying to ruin your gameplay, just fix their own so it works out for them as well. Please try and see it from their spectrum before you reply.. There are plenty non-obtrusive suggestions, honestly! We all love this game that’s why we’re here and we wouldn’t be here otherwise.

I’d also like to know WHEN people are playing. I’ve never seen as few as CharJC and rarely as few as Timmyf. It might be as simple as mega works ok for peeps off-peak. It is a disaster to me NA prime as I simply can’t do what I like to do and how I like to it anymore.

If we only had choices of what type of Mega low/med/high pop we wanted to play in, maybe that would be ok. I do not enjoy map complete now as it is either stupid easy or I am waiting for mobs to spawn…

If they are going to keep megaservers in place, then it should be HEAVILY slanted towards higher population servers. If people on low-pop servers want more populated maps, then fine. Let them come over. It would function more like an auto-guesting feature which is what many people would probably end up doing anyway.

Larger server communities that put a lot of work and effort into being organized and operating together shouldn’t be punished and split apart for the sake of the few.

Also, you need to really lower the soft cap on all maps and increase the number of instances. Give people some space so it isn’t such a crazy log jam on every single map and at every single event.

I also still like the idea of giving each server some sort of dedicated staging event that is ONLY for that server, and gives people a place to organize and discuss WvW.

None of this would be as good as just removing megaserver entirely, but it would at least be better than how things are right now.

Anet does not care if anyone is happy or not. As long as the money keeps rolling in.

Now I am unable to play with lag issues. Literally unable to play.

Until the megaserver my 1 year old computer was handling the game extremely well.

So Anet my money stops rolling in.
