post here the worst/stupidest mistake you’ve done. just had mine done today, and feel like an idiot. I bought a second of the same ascended and soulbinded it not knowing one can be equipt at a time… (facepalm)

Bought the mf ascended infusion without having an amulet with an omni infusion slot on it.

crafted 2X of the same celestial-status gear piece -_-

This is actually very common. Contact support, they usually fix it by giving you the same one with the other infusion slot.

I don’t usually make mistakes, but once I crafted a celestial inscription without having celestial armor recipes.

LOL—2 mistakes I made are already here—Celestial inscrips and doubling down on the same ascended ring. I’ll have to try a support ticket for the ring. I am stuck with the inscripstions though, found out ya can’t sell, only use or destroy.

OP contact support, they can help you with that.

Stupidest? I think choosing heavy ascended coat from the ascended box instead of light. I was tired and not concentrated enough, but since it was cleric’s, no big deal actually.

Or wait for the patch, you’ll simply reequip it on another character once ascended is made account bound.

Buy this game… the hype was too stronk.

I have an extra Vision Crystal sitting in my bank instead of a Lesser version.

running dungeons to get the enough tokens to purchase their gear ~ log out and in again with a different toon (do a ton of crafting) forget to log back in with the right toon that i wanted to get the armor piece, so i bought the armor with wrong toon. logged in and out with the right one only to find that the gear i wanted is soul bound to the wrong toon ……. -_- sad cow.

As far as I can remember, you could get a refund in first month or so if you didn’t like the game.

Besides that, you could’ve just sell your account. It’s against rules, but it doesn’t stop anyone from doing so if we’re to be realistic.

$50 divided by 19 months is $2.63 a month.
$30 divided by 19 months is $1.57 a month.

I’ll assume it’s the $2.63 a month that you spent that is the price that too much to easily forget, not the $1.57 a month. Wow, I agree. That is pricy and I can totally understand your outrage and continuing to post on the forum of a game that was your worse experience. However, perhaps you can calculate a price per month that is acceptable, play until that time then uninstall and go to another game (and forum).

Not quite sure which was worst, but:

I deleted the character that I had my Celebration Cap on.
I bought the soundtrack.
I didn’t participate in SAB: Return to School.
I used my level 20 scrolls on characters I then later on deleted.
I forgot to take a screenshot of me and Tybalt sneaking around.

Selling a Tooth of Frostfang for 60g three months in game vs holding out on it never mind making the legendary.

I deleted my first character that i got several months ago, nearly 1 year ago.

When the WvW servers were experiencing heavy lag spikes I accidentally sold my Anomaly to an NPC and didn’t realize it until the next day. Customer service didn’t help…

Sold an endless tonic to buy 2000 of the present to get another endless tonic. Ended up with absolutely nothing, had to rebuy tonic later for lots of golds.

Exactly this. My guildies urged me to put in a support ticket (which I did) and ArenaNet personally contacted me, corrected the situation and un-palmed my face. They even said if any other guild members have a similar problem to have them put in a support ticket, and that they would be looking into making the ‘Unique’ description more clear in the future.

Of course results will vary but it gave me a greater respect for the lengths at which ArenaNet will go to help us /facepalming players remove our palms from our faces.

Put in a support ticket. This happens about once a month. If you are nice and polite support will help you out.

Misinterpreted what a developer stated on the forums during the first halloween, and thought I had to equip or transmute the ghastly grinning shield in order to keep it, because of the other temporary weapons which were available during the event.

I have nothing I can do with it, don’t like it on my engineer, hate the shield on the warrior and guardian. 1000 G shield sits in my bank doing nothing.

I actually contacted support when it happened, they stated that they understood how I could have thought that but didn’t have the ability to replace the item, and if they ever did they would like to. I’ve never got back to them because I kind of doubt they would stick to that after all this time.

Also, during that same Halloween, had two Chainsaw greatswords and a scythe drop, sold them all during the event for only like 90G total, the scythe is worth several hundred now, the chainsaw great sword is worth several thousand. I thought at the time, ‘I know these are going to go up, but ANets economist can’t seriously be stupid enough to keep these so rare, so they’ll go down next halloween.’ If only I had known John Smiths elitist-driven economic policies then…

When leveling my crafting I would typically craft six copies of an inscription…one to discover a recipe for each piece of armor. I was on auto pilot one day and, when purchasing exotic inscription recipes, I purchased six copies of one recipe. Five are still sitting in my bank…for what purpose I know not.

Lessee…

• When I outfitted my first character, I thought Rampager was a workable alternative to Berserker.
• Decided that my first Elementalist was gonna be a Healer. Leveled to 80 through PvE in Healing Power gear. And Staff.
• Can’t get myself to get rid of or replace said Ele’s Cleric gear due to nostalgia, so created and leveled a second Ele which is outfitted in Zerker gear so that I could Dungeoneer on an Ele.
• Wasted 30 laurels on an Apothecary amulet because its icon looked pretty.
• Decided to reach 500 in some Discipline when Ascended weapons were released. Choose Huntsman over Weaponsmith or Artificer.
• Wasted almost all my G on getting Tailor to 500, only to realize that I won’t be using it anyway.
• Was convinced that my Sword/Axe Warrior was the epitome of DPS. In Soldier gear. Seventeen faceplants in WvW later, I know different.
• Main Ranger
• Bought too many character slots. And Krytan Armor only for the Chest piece. Deleted said chestpiece later.

I can prolly think of more, but I don’t want to.
