just an update:2nd day of being unable to play HoT. the end of the prologue is still locking up the system. i can’t generate an in-game report on the lockup because it requires a forced power off of the computer to recover the system. this is also happening on my wife’s account(which is played on a different computer) is a fix for this coming? we spent 200$ on this.

Same. No crashes otherwise, no lag, plenty of memory. Trying to enter the scene screen instantly results in “Not responding” and necessary restart.

I would like to know if I am not the only one with an engi who was able to wield a hammer at launch and now they can not. What going on. my specialization for scrapper is at 60%, the hammer I was using no reads" weapon no used by profession" when I cursor over it? Spent good money on this expansion. Everyone else with engi’s in my guild seem to be having no trouble. So why me?

I am having trouble talking to scout acan in the story step, I was able to glide to him and get next story step but he still won’t talk

Problem i encountered is that i finished mission “Torn from the sky” while being in team.
I haven’t done “Rally to Maguuma” mission then. I went to do it alone and then i noticed some points are already done (like Enter the Pact staging area) After finishing all previous points of mission (all are checked from Report to Red Rock Bastion to Enter the Pact…) my game refuses to progress. I used Way Point to leave the area to try it again but i m not able to go back to this mission and i m not able to progress in story at all.

Hi!

Im using the Mac client.

It keeps crashing on me especially when i go to a populated area like Lion’s arch. Even when I have my model limit set to the lowest.

It used to crash alot when Silverwastes was released but it didn’t crash as much a few months after. Now that HoT is out I am crashing a lot more so than previously.

Pretty sure its a mac issue as my friends on their windows os don’t experience the crashing like i do.

It is very frustrating cos I bought this game cos i was told it was playable on mac but my game crashes every 15min especially in the middle of world events and When I come back online I am on a different megaserver and out of the event.

Im using a :
Mac Book Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
OSX Yosemite version 10.10.5

Processor : 2 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory : 8GB 1600 MHZ DDR3
Graphics : Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Yeah I can confirm this, the game on Mac is now in a “barely functional” state. It crashes ALL the time even when not fighting.

Did not receive additional character slot, despite requirements being met fully.

I bought HoT serial key and redeemed it on account.arena.net. It worked well and I got HoT activ at my account pages. Started the game and it worked there too.

Now when I want to play again my HoT have disappeared. Also on arena.net. It is as if it never existed.

“The serial code given was not recognized by our system. Please try again.”
Yet I have been playing with it!?

A low priority bug: Miniature Revenant Rytlock is no longer unlocked. I bought the Deluxe Ed. and MRR was unlocked prior to launch, but now it’s not.

A higher priority bug: Pact Assault living story mission is unfinishable. Only 2 of 3 trapped pact members are visible.

I also have the bonus chest loot bug; received a bonus chest from a hero point in maguuma, and whenever i try to open it my game instantly crashes.
Now i have 3 of these bugged boxes just sitting above my map taking up valuable space.

Scout Acan is still bugged (personal story step In Their Footsteps), tried relogging and changing instances and no change. Multiple people in same instances having identical issue.

This was probably already posted, but the Mistward Armor for the Revenant collection is Soulbound on Acquire. I did the boots on my Warrior so that unfortunately doesn’t help him out. I think the armor should probably be Account Bound on Acquire

I’m in the exact same boat. Was working fine yesterday, logged in today and it was gone.

My launcher freezes while trying to download the patch.

I went to bed last night hoping I’d wake to a fix for our OOM crashes. Instead, no new fixes, but a LOT more posts about OOM.

I guess the real fix is, “Get a new rig, peasant.”

So, I will not be playing any new content, or much at all, for the next two months or more, and ANet will not be getting any extra money for Gems out of me because now that money has to go to a new computer.

is there soon a fix to beeing stuck on “rally to maguuma?”

what im about to say is only related to tyria content. I started with 46 mastery points, but now i noticed that i nedd 49 points to max everything. how is this possible? It’s some bug or am i missing something?

WvW while attempting to take a camp in EBG all enemies were dead and the ring came up but didn’t fill. After a while the camp supervisor reappeared, on our team, but the camp never switched. guards and scouts however, were enemies. We managed to correct the glitch by letting the guards kill the supervisor then wiping them and capping.

Also… please give us back our old ram and catapult designs! : (

I just wanted to pop on here and clarify something very specific, and very important, about the “Heart of Thorns” storyline. The first chapter titled “Prologue: Rally to Maguuma”, which some of you have played a beta version of in our previous BWE releases, is set in a public multi-player tutorial style map, very similar to the way that new players start in a multi-player tutorial map. It is NOT a private story instance.

As such, the rules for story steps in public maps apply, namely that even if you are in a party with your friends together in this map, EACH party member must complete the story step individually in order to receive credit toward unlocking the second chapter “Torn from the Sky”.

In short: if you want to party up to get into the “Heart of Thorns” storyline and enter the first story instance “Torn from the Sky” together, PLEASE make sure all party members have completed the “Prologue: Rally to Maguuma” story chapter first.

The game WILL allow you to enter the “Torn from the Sky” instance even if you have not completed the prologue step, but you will NOT earn progress on “Torn from the Sky” until you’ve completed that step, which may result in party members needing to re-do the prologue and “Torn from the Sky” a second time to get full credit.

We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this might cause, but hopefully if you all think of the starting prologue experience in terms of the starting tutorial maps, it will be clear.

I messed up and do not mind restating the prologue. I do have access to the Verdant area, but no way to continue my personal story. When I tried to join another person who does have the quest, I was left behind and not allowed into the prologue instance. Any idea how I can continue ?

i have a chest from the basin event of defending the city with the armors and the chest reward thing crashes my game. i have made a request in the support as well cause this is hindering my progress.

I have been unable to see guild chat. I can post but do not see mine or other chat. All other chat windows work normally. I have tried turning chat off and my status to invisible and back, No change.

I can’t access my racial skills on the revenant.

My HoT personal story reset after logging out to get a shower. I was at the point after rescuing the captured pact agents and back to the camp to defend for the night. After logging in, I was back to the start of the personal story in SW.

Mac crashes often. Every time I open a map bonus chest it crashes instead of opening it.
This is the error that pops up.

Another issue Scout Acan won’t talk to anyone to progress personal story, confirmed through multiple players so it’s def an issue.

You have to glide near him for him to talk.

I know, doesn’t work, I was standing around with about 5 other players gliding every which way around him, we all confirmed he was bugged of us. Not to mention on most maps I’ve been on about every 10-15 min someone asks why he won’t talk to them. So clearly something causes him to function incorrectly.

I haven’t received my new character slot.
Also, I can’t travel into Maguuma and start the HoT – at rally point in the Prologue I get crashed so hard, that I have to turn down my computer, because nothing else is working.

Looks like I have to run back and restart Torn From the Sky. So, Better than redoing the prolog, but still not ideal.

Story problem with “In their footsteps”. When you glide to Scout Acan you can’t interact with him. So my lil bro can’t progress with his story :/

I got to the fourth part of the HoT story on one of my characters. I tried to open another character and they are stuck in the prologue with the prompt ‘Earn your Glider Basics Mastery to continue your story’, which I already earned on my other character. I can’t leave the instance or do anything with the one stuck in the prologue.

Doing the dig in story, get the same green circle near the sylvari soldier, story does not progress beyond that.

I just finished the “Battle for Tarir City” South event, got a reward chest. Everytime i tried to open it, i end up with an .exe error.

Story Jounral: Heart of Thorns Part 14. Sign Cutting

On step three “Find the tracks Rox left behind.” where you walk over the tree and find a rock on the tree no matter how you interact with it it doesnt’ complete the step needed to progress this mission. Can’t progress the Heart of Thorns story journal as of this time.

The legendary wyvern fight above the Pact Encampment Waypoint in Verdant Brink bugged out; when the wyvern went to do its fire in a straight line aerial attack, it seemed to bug under the platform. We then found it hanging out in the trees underneath the platform, as shown in the attached screenshot.

dawkkurra saurian egg event in auric basin is bugged on the last egg needed….

The screen freezes within a few minutes of starting the game and I have to restart the game. My friend in game can see me move while my screen is frozen and I can hear my attacks when I activate them. Any ideas?
Never had this issue till HoT.

Tier 1 of Legendary Craft is bugged in some items.
I choose Twilight/Dusk, did Ulgoth and didn’t got the right item (or got but it didn’t count to my collection – since the item isn’t in my inventory I can’t check, but I did Ulgoth), while this the event on Bauxite Alchemicals at Malchor’s Leap wasn’t up for almost 1 hour and half, presuming that this event is bugged too (someone said on Malchor’s Lap Map Chat this).

I do keep crashing really often. Yesterday at this time my game crashed 8 – 9 times in one hour. I stopped playing because it was way too annoying and I did miss every single group content because the crashes. I decided to let my friends keep going on story without me because it was stupid how often I was crashing. I used the repair tool ( -repair) and waiting for the “crashes fix” you announced. Nothing.

Today, only 15 min after I decided to give it another chance, my game crashed already 3 times, and counting.

Anet, seriously, fix your crap.

The last time I wasn’t anywhere near a fight so I’m not sure what projectile means. It’s getting VERY frustrating as it has happened almost every time I’ve been getting close to a new waypoint in the new content and then have to backtrack. I can’t believe I paid money for this kitten.

Sending a crash report every time. Does Anet even look at these things?

GW2 has had random crashing issues since day 1. I think it’s some compatability issue with nVidia as everyone I’ve seen report this has been running nVidia. I have a 670 on Windows 10, but the issue was there on Windows 7 as well. I was actually hoping Windows 10 might stablize it. Newest driver. PC crashed to freeze once today and twice the video driver reset…within an hour. Try setting the frame limiter to 60fps, I still crash, but not as often.

Been nearly 32 hours since and I still can’t reenter prologue. No story missions are completed after dropping $100+ on the game I would at least expect story to be working. I can ignore all the random crashes but at least the story. Can some dev acknowledge that this is being worked on?

Client crashing: I’m at a crash count of 5. Two during large meta events with 20+ people (heavy lag prior to crash). Three while changing instances (beginning story mode in SW, once trying to WP in Verdant Brink, and once trying to WP in Auric Basin). Bug reports were submitted via crash system.
