I just merged several threads with a specific error code: Connection Error 7:11:3:191:101.
In order to help investigate and resolve this issue, we would like to know the following:
• Your ISP
• Your location (country and, if possible, general location within the country, such as state, region, etc.)
• Your territory or region: NA or EU
• Your Game World (such as Fort Aspenwood, Desolation, Arborstone, etc.)
• The full Error Code you are receiving. (A partial code will not aid the investigation.)
• The number of characters with the problem
• The map name(s) on which the character or characters are trying to load
Thank you for providing that information. And again, *you do not need to submit a ticket about this error code — the team is aware and will resolve this as soon as possible.

I have contacted my isp on this issue. This happens for me mostly late at night at the moment. They confirmed that they do not throttle game speeds or anything for that matter. They did a packet check and while connected (last night) I was losing some packets. My ping tests were all fine. A second packet check today showed no loss of packets with the same connection to the game. There are no local issues reported and a test of my modem comes back fine. All other programs run well and all updates are done.
I am on primarily late at night so it’s a real problem for me. My time zone is Eastern.

I’m getting the errors again today. There is no error code. Only that is stated is “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…” Running in admin mode and deleted GW2.tmp. Firewall also disabled, GW1 loads just fine.
Update:
5th try. Ran in admin mode with firewall disabled and the login screen appeared this time. Had the fire wall disable for 3 other attempts, so I’m not sure what the issue is but this started on 7/29.
6th try. I exited out of the login because I wanted to run the game without admin rights. Since running the game in admin mode interferes with push to talk. However, I started receiving the same connection errors detected message.
7th try. Went back to admin mode but connection errors detected. Can’t login again.
8th try. Was able to login this time via admin. I’ll just run the push to talk program as admin. That way I can at least play and talk again lol. Oh and my firewall was enabled when I was able to connect this time. So doesn’t seem like the firewall is the issue either.

I kept getting this error. Never got it before. But as I was checking the forums for this very problem, I looked back to the launcher and suddenly it was working and downloading the required files.
Very odd. Again, never had a problem before. It scared me a little bit!
Yup, I know the feeling. An update was just released today and back to getting connection error, no error code. Can’t get 7/30 update. Downloading 0KB, Connection errors detected, retrying . Today update said it fixed a server crash. No client fixes.
Update:
10th try. Was able to start downloading (in admin mode with firewall on). When attempting to reach the login screen, client showed: Connection errors detected, retrying.
After 20th time, ran game advisor. Had timeout problems after my packet reached ncsoft. Its like I never got the packet back from ncsoft.

After the game advisor log I tried one more time (21st try) and I was able to login. No change was made on my end.
I have had the same ISP for many years and have never had problems playing GW2 until the update came out on 7/29. After 2 days of constant disconnects with the error code 7:11:3:189:101, I am beyond frustrated. I know that this is not a problem on my end and if by the sheer number of complaints, Anet can’t figure that out, I am not sure what to say. Something is wrong with the new update because all of my guild mates are also getting the same error code and we live in different parts of the country with different ISP’s. Please fix the problem, don’t blame the victim.
Hi guys, I play the game since oct/2012 and I’ve had this kinda problem just a few time all this time. Today after the new build, 2 hours after aproximatelly I was starting to do CoE with my guildies(I was the host of the dungeon) and at the middle of the dungeon I’ve started to get disconnected from server several times…It was 7 or 8 times in the period of 10 minutes. I know you guys works hard to make a better game everyday but…it kittened me off. I was planning to do all dungeons I could before the monthly reset and now…well…all my plans have failed since my internet is okay, even my ping at the game is okay but I can’t even talk at the chat ’cuz even at the chat my messages takes ages to send and appear at the chat log. Please, do something about it ASAP!
I’m having the same problem here, worked perfectly yesterday evening but now it’s Connection Error(s) detected. Retrying.
Have already tried what was suggested but it didn’t work.
Yup needed to close the game out and when I returned back to Connection Error(s) detected retrying. I guess its something on Anet’s end like maybe a server isn’t responding fast enough so it gives the timeout message.
Update:
Try #3. I left the window up and it tried connecting about 6 times. The login screen then appeared and I was able to login just fine.

Are you receiving an error code? Is the one above the error code you are receiving? I wasn’t sure whether I could safely incorporate this thread, but we’d like to keep a single issue in one thread so that everyone gets the proper updates or answers.

My game just drops sometimes every 5 sec. sometimes it will let me play for an hour or 2 then drop.. what do I do it is very annoying… can’t do wvw or dungeons
I need help please… PS … It started after the last build.. if that helps.. Thanks

I had a similar problem once. Here is how I resolved it.
Close GW2
press the windows key and search:
cmd
right click command prompt and select ‘run as administrator’
type:
netsh winsock reset catalog
Start GW2
Today, I was able to login immediately no delay so I guess whatever the issue was has been resolved…. I didn’t think of winsock fix thanks.

I have opened a ticket and all I got told was to talk to my ISP. They have confirmed that there are no issues on my end
I am having the same issue. I don’t think it is my ISP because my boyfriend is playing just fine a few feet away from me on the same network and router. The diagnostic scan shows packet loss at Denver and Dallas, but so does my boyfriend on his computer whose game runs as smooth as butter. I cannot replicate the packet loss elsewhere. Tests from pingtest.net to Dallas show good ping, little jitter, and no packet loss and I seem to not be having issues with other online games. My game used to run very smoothly and this seems to have started a few days ago, shortly after the last patch. This may be a coincidence… not sure.
Any insight? I miss being able to (reliably) play
Both my husband and I are currently unable to connect on our mains. We were heading to Southsun Cove for the Karka queen. On those toons and those toons only, we get code 7:11:3:191:101 and are unable to connect. We tried other toons (in LA)and those can be logged in as usual.
Our mains are stuck in limbo. Trying to connect gets us the aforementions error code, followed by a reset to desktop and an automatic (?!) restart of the game.
I’d say this definitely points to server side issues. Especially since all other internet functions work normally.

this exact error is happening to me right now for plains of ashford for both my lvl 80’s.
I have already submitted a ticket though i’m unhappy because i don’t get much time to play and i just brought 8k gems.
This would seem to have something to do with zones. This morning, I got the error when trying to log in with a character that had been parked at Lion’s Arch. I switched to a different character that was in Divinity’s Reach, went around a few zones without any issues, mapped to LA and got the same error. Tried with a third character, the same thing. I could be anywhere else in the game but if I took the character to LA I was disconnected with the error in question.
Now, a couple of hours later I am again able to log in normally with the characters that got stuck in LA limbo.
Edit: five minutes later, got stuck at Diessa Plateau. It’s certainly something zone related.

Bought the game yesterday and spent nearly 12 hours trying to get installed and online after various issues linking new accounts to old GW1 accounts, accessing the installer client and being told I hadn’t bought the game… Finally got in after being ignored by tech support (there still has been no response to my ticket) and trying my own work-arounds. I created a character and played for a couple of hours fine.
This morning I try rolling a couple more characters, but get the reported error every time I complete the final character creation step – nothing saved, no toon created. I can log in with my original character fine, but then get booted every 15 minutes or so.
I’ll submit a ticket as per instructions, but given no-one responded to my last one I don’t hold out hope and the fact they’re referring people to their ISPs suggests they aren’t really bothered.
Doesn’t seem like I’m destined to ever play this game, does it?
My problem is similar to Broom.2561. I am able to log on with other characters/ toons fine. However, a few of my toons keeps getting the Code: = 7 :11 : 3 :191 :101 I farm Tequatl often so most of my toons are in Sparkfly Fen region. I was able to play on my main character when this problem first began on my other toon. However a few hours had passed and I moved my main character to Sparkfly Fen to kill Tequatl. Once it was dead I logged out and now I cannot log in. Four of my toons are in Sparkfly Fen and not able to log in. I am still able to log on/ log off with 2 other toons, but I am not going anywhere near Sparkfly Fen :p

Anet fixed my issue. I am able to log on all my characters/ toons. Hope everyone is able to log on as well. Thx Anet for speedy fix ! I submitted a ticket as well as posted here in forum.
Update 2
The problem is back for one of my characters/ toon at Lion’s Arch. I was playing FoTM and then I lost connection. I got back into the game found another group entered FoTM then exited back to Lion’s Arch because I forgot something and disconnected during the transition from FoTM to Lion’s Arch. I am not able to log back into the game. My other toons are fine for now.

Customer Support sends an automated ‘Thanks for your request…’ type response as soon as the request arrives. You might try your spam/junk folders, or if nothing there, read the Sticky over in Account Issues about not getting ArenaNet mail.

Oh btw. I dont know if this helps, but I seem to have this error only on a couple maps. Fireheart rise, and caledon forest.
None of my characters that are located in fire heart rise can log in. But I logged in on my guardian located in heart of the mists, traveled to LA and then fireheart rise. But fireheart rise gave the exact same error as my other characters. Tried it again with my engineer, loaded up queensdale, went to fireheart rise, same error.

The problem is most certainly zone related. Last night I got the 7-11-3-191-101 error when I zoned to Fireheart Rise with my Guardian and it subsequently got stuck at the Fireheart loading screen every time I try to zone in, couple minutes later I get the error every time. Funny thing is I was able to load to Fireheart with my other Characters and play the game normally.
I suspect that certain zones might be “trapping” our characters, unable to load thus giving the error. This can also explain why I might be able to play on my other toons.

Same problem! Going to Fields of Ruin crashed my client, and I can no longer play that character as she is located in the affected zone.
Also, skill activation is very slow and laggy. My internet can’t be to blame. Super-duper fibernet and I’ve managed GW2 just fine for years.

Same, can’t log in on any character that is in Lion’s Arch. Other than that, I don’t experience any lag in the other zones, but gemstore and tp don’t load or take forever to load sometimes (started today).

UPDATE – Potential “fix”: Thanks to someone’s advice on reddit, I tried guesting with one of my “stuck” characters and this seems to have fixed it (for now) – anyone having this problem, try guesting and that should help get you in.
Any of mine and my girlfriend’s characters trying to log in to Divinity’s Reach get a disconnect error. All other toons are fine.

I get it just trying to create a new character, so difficult to compare in-game regions, but the one character I do have is in Wayfarer Footlands and does get d/c’d fairly regularly with the same error.

Confirmed: Guesting on another server “fixed it”. I’m now playing my toon that was stuck.
Edit -However – Porting within the affected region (Brisban wildlands, in my case) makes the client error reappear. I just completed a storyline quest, and got ported back out, to the disconnect limbo.
-Tried guesting on yet another server, but that didnt help.
-So, the issue remains unsolved

Having the same issue since this morning.

Till now it seems to be quite random into which map I can’t load without getting this error. First it was EotM (non of my toons could go there without getting this error) 2 Hours later, when I tried again, I had no issues getting into the map. And a few minutes ago one of my toons got stuck in limbo in timberline falls. (guesting “solved” the issue as someone mentioned above)

I can’t login with my character who was zoning into Wayfarer Foothills from Hoelbrak. I am able to login with other characters — ones in Malchor’s Leap and Lion’s Arch seem fine.
I had some weird messages in-game a few hours ago about my connection to the login server, but it wasn’t a big deal. Now I’m getting this message every time I try to login.

I tried guesting, and that did not work for me. Of course. Maybe the server I guested to has the same issue with that map?

Today between 1 and 5pm. In WVW. Cannot go to my home borderland SoS.
I can however go to the other 3 borderlands, no problems. As soon as I try to wp to home SoS brderlnd, I end up in a long loading screen, then get the same error and Im on the character select screen. Have tried with both my lvl 80 characters to wp in from wvw and pve. Not my service provider Ive checked.

Cannot log on to any character currently in Dry Top, guesting does not seem to fix it, error is occurring at 4:23pm EST.

The error started this morning (about 8-9 hours ago), started with really long loading screens (over 4 minutes and not getting in) until I lost patience and closed the game, managed to get into the map when logging back in, after 3-4 chance of maps I started getting that same error.
Maps I have not been able to get in since the error: Blazeridge Steppes and Lion’s Arch
Maps I have been able to get in since the error: Divinity’s Reach, Dry Top, Sparkfly Fen and Queensdale, SBI Borderlands
I also currently have two characters I can’t access at all due to this error since they are parked in Lion’s Arch.
And, if this is relevant at all, I’m on a mac.
