Oh man. I am relieved to see I am not the only one having this issue. It’s annoying! I was doing VW in SW and got disconnected making me miss the big chest. Any devs updated us yet?

It’s so stupid
I just can’t play any instanced part of the game
sPvP, Dungeons, private arenas.. Everything as soon as I “MOVE” just “The game lost connection the client”
Other than that I can run around open world, do open world events, All dragons with no lag or anything.
The moment I step in an instance kitten happen!

I’ve been getting reply sending/receiving emails from support for over 3 hours now
And they still can’t give me an answer upon “WHAT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING” or “WHY IS THIS ONLY HAPPENING IN CLOSED INSTANCES”

It’s really annoying and irritating now

IF someone can explain WHY open world is working with no problems and the moment I enter “Dungeon/fractal/PvP match” and move I get “Client lost connection with server”

Just whats the cause, If it’s an ISP then how is open world working fine.

Same here it seems began since the last event “Mordrem invasion”.

I was thinking it might be connection sway on my network, then reformed the physical infrastructure exchanging all cables and plugs. (I’m a software developer and have knowledge about MAINTENANCE / optimization network).

All sites have improved, taking advantage of 100% of broadband, but this disconnect problem of Guild Wars 2 continues.

The worst is when it enters the Fractals or WvW.

In the Open World occurs less often, can complete the bosses, but the Fractals and WvW is impossible.

I’m giving up and going to take care of things in personal life, return here one month to see if the problem has gone.

This is their explaination, I suffer Packet loss 1% and it’s my ISP fault..

I am getting disconnected like everyone else, with the disconnect error message, from PvE in Timberline Falls, and from the story line at Concordia (70). I have also been disconnected in Lions Arch, at Tequatl, and in Lornar’s Pass doing map completion. It started about a week ago, with random time periods of lag and disconnects to character select, and today I was disconnected two times in a row in Timberline at about 12 pm EST. I am on SoR. My internet is good and my graphics card is nice enough I usually play with medium settings without any lag. But these disconnects are preceded by in-game lag and a significant delay of a few seconds when interacting with the environment, etc.

LOL Don’t you think it is really weird tons of players have this problem but still they say ISP’s fault.
No way…I don’t know how this game’s connection around server works, maybe some of us has problem because of mega server. Although we can connect to other games without any problem.
Making expansion is great but despite of your purchase if you can’t play it ..that would be really stupid. And it is like you laugh at customers.
Hope you will seriously deal with, and fix this. Or explain more understandable reason. We bought this game.

I contacted my internet provider(as they said in their response to my support ticket, because they claimed it’s on my end) and they said everything fine and nothing has changed within the last couple days to cause me to disconnect as I am. (It started yesterday 9/21 for me)

I can barely log in now, and if I do manage to log in, I can walk maybe a couple feet. Or maybe do about one spell(not going anywhere) before I disconnect again.

My other games work just fine, I spoke with my internet provider. It’s not on my(our?) end.

I’ve been having the same problem for about 24, 32 hours now. It’kittenting me like a hammer in open world tonight, the in-game ping report goes from double digits to over five seconds, but there isn’t even a blip on the Windows Resource Monitor.
The same thing’s been happening to my web browsing, Gmail and Facebook most notably. I checked DSLreports and called tech support, but neither indicated any issue with my ISP. I’ve been suspecting that there’s a misconfigured router out there.

I guess their servers are having problems while getting lots of connections. I coudnt play yesterday night for more than 5min(23p.m) when servers are almost full. Now, today (7a.m), I could play without problem and my internet even was rebooted, it remains as it was yesterday.
Too much incoming users from f2p and expansion comming. The population grows too fast. Maybe they can not handle it.

i am sure its not ISP every thing is working fine except GW2 so stop telling ppl this and search for the reason causing this issue.

I’m going ot have to agree with Delzim here, I’m beginning to think since the game went f2p that maybe their servers are incapable of handling the flood of new players, so it’s disconnecting people. As I’ve called my provider, nothing’s changed on my end, I’ve run every check that support wants me to do and I still D/C, now more than ever. So I can see why technically nothing is wrong on their end or ours, but the servers are just not big enough. (My only educated guess at this point.)

It’s frustrating and I really want to play this game, but at this point I don’t really know what to do other than wait. (Which sucks because I just put forth 100 bucks for the HoT and I can’t even log in now, fantastic.)

Hopefully, everyone is sending in tickets so they can see this is not just a few selected instances, since posting on forums doesn’t garner the attention to fix, as much as an influx of support tickets would.

Same as Niomi , Just put 100 bucks on the ultimate edition and i got the problem fixed for a while but since the last fix which was 2 or 3 hours ago , Everything just got messed up again , Even when using the ports they asked me to use

Just an update on my issue:
To sum it up, I’ve been getting disconnected from every instanced map in game “PvP/Dungeon or Fractal” Open world was working fine
Raised a ticket to technical support and they said it’s my connection/my ISP problem not theirs.
Yesterday there was a patch
And since this patch everything is working fine for me, no disconnects or anything
So, my problem is solved, and it was ANet server problem
not my connection, not my router or my ISP.

Same problem here, I have had this for a while (about a month) now and at first this was occasionally and I could live with it, but now it seems to be after a minute.

It seems for me, it is related to the servers as I get kicked after less than a minute when it’s crowded and it can be between 5 mins and an hour when it’s not crowded.

With beta going on at the moment, this is now instant DC when I get on…
I have been playing fine for 3 years, so they better not be telling us that it’s a local issue!
The ping values are also getting worse and worse these days :’(

EDIT: tried an account of a friend which plays on EU servers (I play on US servers but I live in Europe). The EU servers did not DC me, so I’m guessing it really has something to do with the servers and the load they are taking which affects the local ping of players farther away… But this isn’t supposed to happen, right? You can’t force people to transfer to EU server (especially when it costs between 500 and 2k gems;..)

EDIT2: Have tried other computer, other internet connection (also stable), with both accounts. Same results…

This is getting ridiculous, I can barely complete the daily completionist lately because I constantly disconnect and it makes me not get credit for events. I can’t do ANYTHING else right now.
They need to figure out a way to fix this because right now the game’s disconnecting just constantly fluctuates from aggravatingly persistent to literally unplayable.

I quote him because for me it began that same day. The first happening was in the 18:00 UTC+2 Tequatl event. Midway through the lifebar, I was hit by a huge wave of lag (granted, the map was full of people and big events get kind of laggy, but never to the point of disconnecting me) which eventually gave me this error and threw me out, then when I manage to come back in, despite being in a party, I got thrown into another version of the map, which was annoying, but it wasn’t a problem overall, even though after that, the game was overly laggy at first and eventually unplayable (getting killed by a single trash mob is quite embarrasing), eventually kicking me out several times with this error.

Since then, at around the same time, like at least 30 minutes before and last check about 90 minutes after that Tequatl event (even if I’m not on that map, nor on a remotely close one to that), the game becomes unplayable: laggy if it doesn’t kick me out with the error code.

Overall, I can play without any issue for hours on end before and after, but during that time, somehow, GW2 becomes unplayable.

Although with the megaserver it shouldn’t pose an issue, my server is/was Baruch Bay[SP], so if that helps…
