having the exact same problems as everyone else

i have a razer naga and i use the software and drivers for it that are on the razer website….so….how this problem has gone on for like 4 or so months is far beyond me but a fix would be much appreciated.

so i’m completely convinced that this game has broken my mouse or done something to the software for the mouse. I’m not sure but,prior to yesterday i had never had any problems with it and it’s a razer naga and i hadn’t played GW2 for around 4 months and then i come back to the game and it ruins my rbm and i know it’s ruined because now the rbm skips even OUT of guild wars 2…kind of a deal breaker to be honest. i would like to play but i’m scared to buy a new mouse and end up screwing up another one that costs around 60 dollars. SO,in conclusion, please fix the problem,Anet…it’s been like,what..4 months that people have been calling this problem in and nothing’s been done about it?

Same issue here since the january patch with a logitech G500. It’s very annoying.

Hey guys this is still being looked into. Unfortunately I don’t have any information to provide on the status of this issue other than that, but again, I would recommend creating a support ticket for one on one assistance.

I´ve created a support ticket. After some chatting and testing without any solution, the support finaly said:

“We have noticed ArenaNet of this issue and they will be looking into it. At this time, there is no resolution. I suggest trying another mouse to see if the issue persists, but beyond that, I suggest watching the tech forums at https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech.

If you have any further issues or concerns, feel free to let us know."

Well, I guess we have to be patient. There won`t be any good news in near future

My prior thought on why this might be happening, I have been unable to reproduce on command… mostly personal playtime limitations and being in conditions I had set up to test.

HOWEVER I did notice something else that COULD be partially to blame or Crosses fingers totally to blame.

Simple as this, right double click targets and attacks/interacts.

While in the options there is a check to disable double-click to attack/interact, it ONLY affects the LEFT mouse button. Double clicking on RIGHT button will attack/interact with mobs and whatever else is in front of you or near you !! I never thought about this prior because I, having the option off, didn’t think it could be related.

My guess is that in heavy lag, myself and others with experiencing the problem, are right clicking several times to try to get the camera to move. The client is trying to interact with who KNOWS what is in range/view. I expect it occurs more often in lag filled WvW and anything with intense graphics…as players we note the slowdown and try to move/swivel the camera around…with WvW there are LOTS of targets the client has to decide which target to attack/interact with.

Thoughts? Way to test and confirm or rule out?

5 months+ and still going…. thumbs up, brilliant product quality. At this point I am starting to think somewhat similar to one of the previous posts. Seems that after i got this issue in GW2 for the first time, I’ve started experiencing it in WOW and Planetside 2 from time to time so GW2 may actually mess up the right click for other software as well. Although I did make a post suggesting that there was something wrong with my mouse previously, I do not think this way now.

Client options needs to be able to turn off the double-click right mouse button to attack/interact. The current option doesn’t specify but only disables left mouse button.

Correct. it seems to be a GW 2 software`s problem. Everybody in the guild got this problem. They just try to ignore it, because it`s been available since launch

experienced this way back in the betas, not had it again until this last patch

logitech g700 if it matters, seems to be something perhaps re-introduced in the last patch 28th jan?

The real problem for me with this is that, because I have two displays almost every single time the mouse loses focus it causes my system to alt-tab back to the desktop from the mouse going off to the other unused display. Since my comp is frankly ancient, it takes over a minute to get back in to the game once this bug strikes. Its caused many deaths of my characters as I am a sitting duck while alt-tabing.

I can give you an advise concerning your alt+tab dilemma: have you tried the resolution option “fullscreen window mode” ? I´ve tested severeal things and this solution seems pretty stable.

I just started having this problem last night. Same issue as everyone else. It is especially frustrating with dual-screen setup, as stated above when the mouse looses focus on a dual-screen setup it will move to the other screen and on clicking will minimize the game. I never had this problem once until last night.

I also started experiencing this problem for the first time last night. Have not changed anything on my side, using same mouse since the launch. I also have dual monitors.

It also seems like my right mouse key disables free camera and the left key enables it again. And I have no bindings set for that feature in my options.

I have come to the conclusion that all my issues with right mouse button are related to the right mouse button also targeting/selecting targets.

I suspect that auto attack complicates this when a large number potential targets complicates the issue, but I do not see any way to test/confirm this while right click can still target.

It absolutely is NOT hardware issue. Do not waste money buying a new mouse.

Looks like the latest update actually fixed the problem for me. Now hopefully you guys can disable the right click targeting to fix it for everyone else.

when in gw2 my mouse disconnects and reconnects quite often all of a sudden.
I hear the tune when something is plugged in or out when this happens and I cant do anything; for like 5 seconds
but it reconnects after a few.
I use a Roccat mouse

I’m having this same problem. It’s as if my mouse is losing connection to the receiver. I replaced the batteries and it persists. Relaunching the game alleviates the problem for a very short while but it always comes back.

Same problem, just started for me after last patch. So far I’ve tried:
- Reinstalling
- Checking all drivers to make sure they’re updated
- Replaced batteries in mouse
- Tried a different mouse

Nothing seems to help. Interestingly enough…on the character select screen, the right click to turn the character works PERFECTLY. My mouse also works perfectly in all other games and in windows (it’s a Logitech MX1100 Laser Mouse).

In it’s current state, the game is completely unplayable for me as I can’t turn around 70% of the time, so combat is extremely frustrating.

I have this problem as well. Rotating the view with right mouse button does not always work. The problem seems to be that the game tries to attack or activate with right mouse button as well. I wish that there was an option to disable attacking/activating with right mouse button, it would fix this problem.

I have G700. Happens in both wired and wireless modes.

aaaaand it’s back. Please disable right click targeting or put the option in the ui to disable it. Seriously this is a five month old thread, why has this not been fixed?

here’s my (ex) issue, my mouse loses focus while holding right click almost immediately. I found a nice Autohotkey script that lets me press the middle mouse button (or any button I like) to tell the script to keep the right mouse button clicked even if I’m not actually pressing it. Then pressing the middle mouse again will release right click. It helps so freaking much.

Go search the net for Autohotkey and DL it. Copy this into notepad and save it as an .AHK then run it.

So from what I can tell alot of people use logitech and Razer mice.
This problem is incredibly frustrating, has gone un-fixed and it seems 90% of people experience this.
They need to announce the error details publicly.
I hope this thread keeps going, I want results. I haven’t played for 2 months due to multiple rage quits after 5 minutes of play. I love the game concept, just please fix the right-click.
I swear all that needs to happen is they need to code the right-click to perform the one maneuver function and remove everything else from it.

Neverwinter has cool system, there you don’t need to click any mouse button to rotate view. Instead moving just the mouse does it. I hope that the same system comes as an option to Gw2 as well. Then when you need to do something with the UI, like change chat tab, just then you keep Alt pressed, and then you have mouse cursor that moves, and you can click UI elements.

It would be so simple for them just to put the camera handling on right-click and nothing else, PLZ! fix this

This issue is getting worse for me lately, can’t seem to go more then 30 seconds without it happening. Please Anet give us some info on this or a way for us to help you figure out the problem.

edit: just realized this may not be related to guild wars, getting the same behavior in other games. I use a Logitech G300 mouse + Microsoft Sidewinder X4 keyboard, if that’s of any help.

You know what. This is actually a hardware problem. My G700 is broken, holding the right mouse button randomly sends extra clicks, so it does not hold properly. It is easy to test this by holding the mouse in ?indows desktop:

I now switched to my backup mouse G600, and the problem does not happen anymore.

The problem with this hardware problem gets much worse because of how Gw2 mixes the right mouse turning with right mouse targeting. Without the targeting, there would be no problem.

I have a simple suggestion that would fix this problem. Make right-click a toggle, so that when you click it once, after that you can turn the character just by turning the mouse, so no need to hold right button all the time. Then when you click right button again, the hold is released and you can move cursor and interact with UI elements. I think that this would be very good improvement because usually I hold the right mouse button down all the time, which does not make much sense.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem yet?

For the past few months I haven’t been able to play any pvp because of this problem.
Sometimes I have the button pressed and so does the game, but one millisecond after the game thinks I released it and returns the mouse to its normal state (ie nothing pressed) while I’m still holding my finger down.

Other times I will press the right mouse button and the game simply won’t react to it, it will keep the mouse with nothing pressed.

Never had the issue until recently. Now (like, since last two weeks) the problem has been steadily increasing, finally stopping me from doing any form of challenging content. The game have been borderline unplayable for the last few days.

Anyway, standard setup – Logitech G500, lack of Rclick response when turning the camera. No problem when Rclick to attack, open menus or do anything outside GW2 (I can do desktop test suggested by Fuerte as long as I want, pivot point stays where it was, so it doesn’t look like a hardware issue). I’ve ran some longish tests, never noticed the click not registering in plain Windows/other games. As far as I can tell the mouse works OK outside of GW2.

Doing this has actually let me play with minimal frustrations (1-3 slips an hour at most).

This has been happening to me as well, most notably in WvW or PvP.

Some of my specs:

Windows 7
Logitech M570 wireless mouse
X Mouse (Software that lets you bind keys to the mouse wheel)

Hopefully this thread gets enough attention that Anet looks into the issue.

I’m seeing this issue as well now. Maybe 1 in 20 times I try to use right-click to turn my camera. It does seem to be that my game has decided to interact in some way with something in the world as if I just clicked as opposed to registering that I’m holding it down. This only began for me with the Razing patch but I am using a Naga (Molten). Disabling Synapse didn’t help and turning off the option to double-click to interact didn’t help, either. Win 7 SP1

My naga started giving me this right click problem around possibly 4 months ago. First time I experienced it was in GW2 and only kept happening exclusively in GW2 for a loooong time. Nowadays my naga just gives me the finger for it’s right click in every game and loves to randomly act like it got unplugged from the usb port for a few seconds(also happens to my keyboard).

This is still an ongoing issue for me, but I did notice something I hadn’t noticed prior.

Just logging in today, in an area not very populated, in panning while holding right click… if it didn’t catch (and move camera view) continuing to hold and move about it DID eventually catch and move camera.

SO …when it is not lagging due to heavy graphics/ton of people on screen, if I do not let up on button at all, it appears to eventually ‘catch’ and move the screen.
I also noted while doing this that it can ‘drop’ focus (moving the cursor again) and then ‘pickup’ focus all the while keeping mouse button depressed.

In an earlier session a third ‘new’ thing I noted, the ‘1’ button on skill bar, specifically the mouse over info on the button, was apparently registering on/off multiple clicks to set auto-attack on/off. I have been attempting to watch this mouse-over info after earlier suspicions that the auto-attack targeting itself is/was partially to blame (ties in with target, target in range, F key interactions, target of cursor).

This bug needs squished.

Asking for others who experience this problem to…

1. (next time the issue is experienced) go to control panel, mouse settings, and switch primary and secondary buttons (making left button the right and vice versa) and see if they are able to use the physical left mouse button (now seen by system as the right button) without issue

1. Someone to figure out a different way in game to see if condition persists WHILE this switch is in effect. In other words, how could I/we confirm that the ‘new right button’ isn’t experiencing issues while held in game? not much sleep as I am writing this, can’t think of a way in game to test…and confused because I had thought I switched/tested this way months ago, and with different mice…three of which I experienced this issue on. I also find it incredible that IF it is somehow hardware, how it could only be the right button for SO many people that have this issue.

I am having this issue as well. When I first noticed it I had a Razer Deathadder 3.5G, I broke my Deathadder trying to clean it and went to my backup mouse, Which is a Logitech M100. It has begun to happen more frequently with the M100.

To be clear the symptoms are : Not registering the RMB when to change view, sometimes causing the mouse to no longer be bound within the Fullscreen region of GW2 and consequently jumping to my second monitor.

Logitech G500, Can’t turn camera or extremely laggy with right button. Not reproducible reliably, come and goes, happens ones a while most of the time is fine. No logitech software installed

Over 6 months of this issue persisting. Hundreds, and even thousands of players all experiencing this issue to different degrees, from a minor annoyance to all out gamebreaking to the point of not even being able to play due to the severity of the issue.

And in all that time, all we’ve gotten as a response is one post 5 months ago asking for data about their bug. Another post 4 months ago asking for data about their bug yet again. (Don’t they have payed employees to get that data?) And a post 2 months ago stating:
